Some Things I've Learned Over The Last Two Weeks!

It's Friday!...or, for me, 'Virtual' Friday Date Day!! :-) And you don't KNOW how glad I am to see Friday come this week!!!!! It's been a long week!...actually, a long two weeks!
Hubby and I, for the last two weeks, have been trying out a new schedule, to see if it would work for us. And during the process I've learned a few things. I learned that I like looking forward to being awake to see my items show-cased in new treasuries, like this one! :-) ...

My little lapel suit flower was chosen this time! :-]

If you go by and check out all of the items in the treasury, you'll see that it really is red in motion!...

I learned from my reaction to being in the treasury, after not being in one for a while, that sometimes you just need to be thankful!....THANK YOU!! ♥

Over the last two weeks I've also learned some other things too...one being that we all need time for our creative juices to flow!!...

Our new schedule hasn't been affording me that privilege. :-( I've been finding myself in 'start' mode with everything, but nothing getting finished! So that needs to change...immediately!

I've also learned, without being specific here, that sometimes simple is better...And sometimes it's not!! :-] ...

Sometimes doing the simple thing may seem like it's gonna work best, but then you find your schedule, and your mind, turning into a muddled mess and you realize....simple ain't so great in all cases!! O_O Sometimes you need to take the time and make intricate work!!...

     I know...you don't know what I'm talking about!! Ha! Ha! That's okay....I do! ^_^

I also learned over the last two weeks...something I thought you'd never hear me say!...that sometimes you CAN indeed sleep too much!!!...O_O...Who said that?!...Sad, but true. :-))
Starting this weekend hubby and I are gonna try a new schedule. We actually pre-started it today. I'm up...awake!...and writing freely! :-) I'm already feeling like this schedule is gonna work better for me...with a few sacrifices, of course. But sometimes you need to adjust.

Lastly, I've learned something else over the last two weeks, that my faith holds me steady in all things, and that music is always good....ALWAYS!!!! :-)

Have you learned anything new lately?! :-] ... Have a good Friday, and a good weekend, Everybody!!!

Sometimes

Sometimes you expect a little 'This', and you get 'That'.
Sometimes you will wave away some dust, but it's a gnat.

Sometimes it's an image in the distance that's right here.
Sometimes all the straining isn't worth the things you hear.

Sometimes you will find that 'pretty bad' has got a perk.
Sometimes a vacation is the thing that you call work.

Sometimes conversation meant to heal can go too far.
and sometimes on reflection you are happy who you are.

Sometimes poetry can be so random, and yet deep.
And sometimes it's, upon reflection, thoughts you ought to keep.

Water...Water....Water Falling Everywhere!

It's been raining 'crazy' around here! And I'm sure some people love it! I know the plants, flowers and trees love it! But I'm not a flower, plant or tree, and I've had enough of it for a while!! LOL...(I say this in a very personal and ha! ha! way, not meaning to be insensitive to people who are having drought conditions and really 'need' some rain right now!)
The backyard looks beautiful, lush and green...and for me?...the green part is right! ^_^ This rain and humidity has me aching in places I didn't know I had places!!...Now, you would think that this would make me not wanna see any more water at all...ever! But actually I'm thinking about water all the time!...But big bodies of water...located in places where it would be nice to take a 'virtual' trip again!...like the header photo shot of Lake Tahoe California! :-)
Or the photo below of Big Sur coast in central California...

...Or the water under the Golden Gate Bridge. Also in California. :-) ...

Hmmmm...I'm feeling a theme here! :-) ... California it is!!! :-) ...That's not until tomorrow though. Today...*sigh*...I have to get through some more rainfall....water falling! Ugh!

But in the meantime, I have music...and songs with water in the videos! :-) ...

Water makes a good back-drop for good music too, huh?! :-) ... Have a good Thursday, Everybody!

Massachusetts Weather

Wind and wet, fog and rain;
Nagging joints and aches and pain.

Massachusetts weather fare.
Is this the weather everywhere?!

On real bad days it gets to me;
This 'weather change sililloguy'.

Look out the window, shake my head,
pull up the covers...back to bed!

Something Interesting To Talk About?.....Hmmmm...

I know my blog posts have been kinda 'wandery' lately...I'm over here, talking about flowers. Then I'm over there, talking about turtles! ^_^ That's partly because of my schedule changing and not having as much time to do the blog as I used to. But it's also partly because I haven't wanted to talk about the things that are going on! It hasn't been very positive fare!
On the good side, I could talk about crocheting...I finally did a little crocheting yesterday! :-] I made 'one' boutonniere...a replacement for one I sold recently...

It felt good to pick up my hook and just lose myself in thread. :-) ... I didn't lose myself as much as the creator of this beauty did...

 (Muza)

...but I had fun just the same!...Isn't this dress gorgeous?!!!! :-]

The things I don't want to get into too deeply are the weather....It's been CRAZY!!!!! The tornado that hit Moore Oklahoma the other day was 190 MPH and I think they said 2 miles wide!!!!! It wiped out an area of about 12 miles in a few minutes time!! :-( ... The part that got to me the most was that it hit a school, and 7 to 9 children died. :-( ... No, I don't wanna talk about that too deeply. It's just sad. :-(

I could tell you about my deteriorating health issues, but trust me...you don't wanna hear it! :-] I'm getting OLD, Y'all!!!! My aches and pains are turning into 'ACRES' and 'PLANTATIONS' full of them!!! LOL..No, I don't wanna get into that 'interesting' conversation!...NOT! ^_^
I'd rather talk about the interesting nature photo on this card!...

      I LOVE it! :-)

I could also tell you that hubby planted some more sunflower seeds....YAY!!...but that he's already fretting about what's gonna happen to them when they sprout!...'Wobbly Wibbly' toddler girl has been striking left and right in the backyard!! :-)) Any time the slightest thing that 'looks' like a flower sprouts...she picks it!! ^_^
I can almost see the battles between her and hubby coming!! LOL Oh, the wagging of fingers, and the tears!!!!....And who knows what 'Wobbly Wibbly' will be doing!!! LOL...No, I'm not gonna talk about that too deeply either. YOU don't have the time for that!! ^_^

I'd rather tell you that, thankfully, I always have something positive to put my mind on...while the world just does it's thing!!! Crocheting, flowers, and food!!!...I'm off to get something to eat right now! ^_^

Have a good day, Everybody!...And do yourself a favor, stay away from the windows and the news!!!! O_O

 Who'll Remember The Children

Who'll remember how they trusted;
How they thought dad hung the moon?
How their little life is over,
and it happened waay too soon?

The laughter, play, and innocence
are gone when children die.
Replaced by mournful 'What to do?'
and an endless need to cry.

Who'll remember that they smelled like rain
and their eyes were just like glue?
Like their mothers and their teachers
and their childhood playmates do?

Their jerky dance-like movements,
and the jokes they couldn't tell.
Contagious smiles that sparked you up
when you weren't feeling well.

Who'll remember the precious children,
and the way they used to be?
God will! They're in his heart and mind,
and in his memory.

Still Seeing Flowers Everywhere, But.....!

Spring has brought all kinds of lovely things to the neighborhood...hummingbirds, rain...Grrrr!...pollen....Grrrr, Grrrrr!...and flowers. The flowers and hummingbirds can stay, but the rest.....UGH! I know it has a purpose in the big scheme of things, but in the little scheme of things...meaning 'MY BODY'!...it's not so great!
I've been having a rough time with allergies, aches and pains, and distraction. I haven't crocheted anything in about two weeks, except the two custom ordered boutonnieres and a free brooch I made to send with it!! O_O
I'm still attracted to flowers everywhere, but I'm not in the mood to 'make' any!!...Does the 'Spring Bug' bite any of you and 'get you off your game' too around this time of year?!...whenever Spring happens in your part of the world?!...I'm hoping I'll get back to my 'busy-minded' and 'flying-fingers' self soon!...But in the meantime I'll just look at other people's flowers...and share them with you! :-) ...

Maybe all of these pretty flowers will inspire me to pick up my crochet hook! :-)

I have to admit though, that maybe Spring isn't the full culprit. A dear friend of ours died a few days ago and we've been kinda down about it. It seems kinda trivial to be just gardening and crocheting away when the family is in such pain.
I'm not gonna spiral into negativity though, because we do look forward to seeing him again soon. Our faith holds us steady in that fact! It's just hard to know that his laugh and words of wisdom have gone silent for a while...especially because the family counted on it so much as a regular feature of their lives. :-(
To end this post on a positive note though, there's gonna be plenty of time in the near future to 'stop and smell the flowers'! :-) And flowers are always worth taking time to smell...or create...or crochet! :-) ... Yep! That'll do it!! I'm off to grease up my crochet hook right now!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-]

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

Turtles, Hummingbirds, And Flowers!

If you recognize the dressed up turtle in my header photo, then you already know that my turtles aren't of the regular 'in-the-water', on-the-land', snapping turtle variety! ^_^ But more about that in a minute.
First I have to tell you that, as of this weekend, the hummingbirds are back!!!! :-) What a joy to see them darting and flitting in the backyard again! :-) And with the azalea bush and the tree flowering at the same time.....LOVE!!! :-) ...

But, unfortunately, I wasn't feeling so great this weekend, so my aching body and compromised immune system made the enjoyment of my beautiful hummingbirds and flowers a little down-played....but not much. Because I still have a heart...and eyes! :-) And also I have taste buds!...Why am I talking about taste buds, you ask?!...Because hubby, in order to give me something nice to remember about this weekend...besides our 'virtual' trip to Nicaragua on Friday :-) ... brought home a little gift for me!...turtles!! :-) ...

Yep! Chocolate and caramel and pecan-filled turtles!!! :-) YUM!!!!! So besides the aches and pains, it was a weekend full of flowers and turtles, with a flitting, darting hummingbird thrown in here and there! :-)

It was a great weekend! :-) And a little tasty and 'ouchy'! All in all...not bad!! ^_^ I hope you had a good weekend too...without the 'ouchy' part. ^_^ And I hope the same holds true for this new week...for all of us!! Have a good one! :-)

I Love A New Beginning

I love a new beginning,
whether day or year or hour.
All the new growth that's now starting,
like the budding of a flower.

The beginnings of a schedule,
like a long lost welcomed friend.
I love a new beginning,
and so "Here We Go Again!!!"

Let's Look At It From Another Perspective!

I love filtered light coming through bedroom windows and falling gently on slightly slept in covers, with a light breeze softly rustling the curtains...Ahhhhhh! That's a perspective that makes me happy. :-]
Another perspective that makes me happy is the look of the sky on an overcast day, like it was in the backyard for part of the day yesterday. Thankfully hubby was in a picture taking mood...

The sky over the backyard was breath-taking at times. And the backyard didn't look too shabby itself! :-) ...

Beautiful!...but hubby wanted to explore a thought with his camera...The bug and ant perspective of the backyard! :-)) Don't ask why. The answer is probably somewhere in the same vicinity as why the chicken crossed the road! LOL
Anyway!! ^_^ So let's go down to the ground...

... to the ant and bug perspective...Speaking of bugs, hubby saw this one and just HAD to take of picture of it!!....*cold shiver* O_O ...

      Moving on!...

....Soooooo...from down here that's what the possibility of retrieving a hamburger that missed the grill when it was flipped over looks like! ^_^

Hmmmm...this ant and bug perspective is pretty cool! :-) ...

I have to say though, I much prefer the perspective of a stack of pancakes on a Sunday...Off to look at it. And eat it!!! LOL Have a good Sunday, and rest of the weekend, Y'all! :-)

Be The Best You Can Be

I live my life every day,
trying to be the very best I can,
so that I am not affected
by the degrading words of man.

If "I" know who I am,
then I don't care what others think;
I don't end up in some bar,
trying to hide my pain with drink.

Oh Yes! THEY have opinions
on what THEY think you should do,
on how you wear your hair,
where you should go, also with who!

I nod and give a grin,
respecting what they want to say;
but it's my thoughts that count
at the end of the day.

It makes it so much easier
when I'm being the best I can;
Then I feel good about my choices;
I don't fear words from any man!
