'Virtual Friday' ♫ La La ♫ Love Fest!

      Yep! Another Friday is upon us...and another chance for a 'virtual' Friday date for us! ^_^ As usual, there will be food. There will be togetherness. There will be 'virtual' travel. And there will be words and music! :-)

       Hubby and I had a conversation the other night about how silly we were when we were dating. We used to go for long rides in the car, come back home, and sit outside in front of the house in the car holding hands and stuttering our way through giddy 'lovesick' conversation. ^_^ Or sorta kinda what we would call conversation! Ha! Ha! It really was more like staring at each other, spitting out a word here and there, and smiling! LOL

      For the sake of having a romantic remembrance, we may do the same thing today, go for a 'virtual' ride in the car!!! ^_^ And listen to music...of course! :-) ... That's what we'll be doing. What about you?!

       While you think about whether you wanna share what you're gonna be doing with me, let me share some words and music with you! ^_^ ...

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if it's 'virtually'

       And 'No!'...I'm not calling the picture of the blue moon, in the header photo, a 'gift idea'! ^_^ Although finding this photo yesterday was indeed a 'gift'...for my eyes! :-) WOW! So pretty!! I wanna have my chair pulled up and planted right at that spot for the next blue moon!! ^_^ Wait! When is that gonna be?!...Probably in a blue moon's time! ^_^ ...Anyway! Good job, Matthew!! :-)

       Okay...in the interest of full disclosure...I have given clocks, robes, and necklaces to people before as gifts before. But I've never given any clocks with embossed floral designs, no necklaces as interesting as the wearable planter....or any robes as pretty as the Turkish robes above!

    The retro van?...well, that was too old of an idea for me to have thought about it! LOL...and the bike phone mount is too new of an idea for this 'old 'WUG' lady' to have thought of! ^_^ Tell the truth...had you thought of any of these as gift ideas before?!

    No, I didn't think of any of these. But I could write several posts about gift ideas that I 'have' given, or received! Some of them could make for some funny conversation too!...like for instance, I had an aunt who used to give all of the girls in my family a pair of underwear every year! LOL And the underwear had two rubber bands across the crotch area....Oh Oh! Is that too much information?! ^_^

       That same aunt gave my father a brand new white Bible every year too! :-) Maybe that's why he made us girls have a Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses all those years ago. Hmmmmmm!...We rebelled against it then though...That's a story for another time! ^_^ I've got to get outta here and go make somebody some gifts!! ^_^

It's a good thing people know me

It's a good thing people know me,
and they know that I just "talk".
Cuz the things that I've been saying
might make people 'take a walk'!

It hasn't been because I'm angry
or I'm trying to make a point.
It's just the silly observations
of a brain that's 'out of joint'!

It's a good thing people know me,
cuz sometimes my mind's a sieve.
I don't remember what I found out,
and I can look insensitive.

So, for people who don't know me,
let me tell you from the start,
my mouth might shoot out kookie business,
but never worry about my heart.

My intention is toward funny,
or to simply tell the truth.
I would never hurt a fly...
Unless he's chocolate...I'm aloof! 

'Once In A Blue Moon' In The Backyard!

     I know!...you've probably heard the expression 'once in a blue moon' a lot this week, considering that the 'harvest moon', or 'blue moon', is high in the sky. But I couldn't help myself. I had to bring it up one more time! ^_^ And I had to, because my hubby went out in the backyard last night and took some pictures of it! :-)
 

     I know!....what is all the hoopla about?! ^_^ It's a bit of light in the sky, right?!...Well, maybe so, but it was sooooooo cool to look at!!

     Oooooo! The 'Wug' household is so exciting!! LOL
 

     Guess what?!...we're even more exciting when we talk about the hummingbirds in the backyard! ^_^ And when we take pictures of them scratching themselves!!....Oooooo! Ahhhhhhh! :-))

     I have some issues with my dry itchy skin too, but it would be a whole lot more of a problem if I was a speedy wing-flapping hummingbird, having to suck nectar every minute to keep my energy up, look for other attacking hummingbirds, AND scratch, all at the same time!!! LOL
     Anyway!! ^_^ Those were yesterday's excitements....including the first discourse at our Kingdom Hall by the traveling circuit overseer for our congregation!! :-) It was SOOO ENCOURAGING TOO!!!.....Okay, On to today!!! :-) Whatcha got for me, Wednesday...besides the hump?! LOL

Describe The Sky

Evoking awe and bouts of wonder.
Such inspiration, you just want to cry.
With birds high-flying, and winds a blowing,
what words would you use to describe the sky?

Would you say, whether clouds are upon it,
that it blankets a wondrous space?
Or would you be more awed and humbled,
hoping there you would find God's face?

I would say that when standing quiet,
looking up at the sun or moon,
there's a feeling of peaceful oneness
that I hope won't go away too soon.

Evoking bouts of awe and wonder
was probably what it was designed to do;
That is, besides giving off light and weather,
and the most spectacular view!

Amazing How The Time Flies, Huh?!

      Can you believe that it's already the middle of August, with September, and Fall, and the changing of the leaves, right around the corner?! O_O I can hardly believe it!...Where is the time going so fast, huh?!

      I have to say though, that I think the sky is looking pretty amazing! I don't know exactly how to explain it...the sky I mean. But it has a sorta 'Ahhhhh!' feel to it. It's giving me the hankering for some hot apple cider and a fireplace to sip it in front of! ^_^

       On the bad side...sorta...I'm seeing only one lone hummingbird at the feeder now. Pretty soon he'll be gone too. :-( But, as I said, it's only 'sorta' bad...because no hummingbird feeder means winter bird suet balls! ^_^ Winter bird suet balls that don't have to be changed as often as hummingbird nectar feeders too, I might add! :-)

      Anyway!...On to my Etsy finds this amazing morning! :-) ...

       All useful...all cute....all created by amazing Etsians! :-) 

      Other than these things there's not much going on around here...except for the good news that my father apparently doesn't have diabetes...YAY!! But he may have a serious eye issue....Boooo! He's suppose to call the eye doctor soon. I'm working on trying to get him to do it...uhhhh...TODAY!! But he has no desire to be poked at right now...and considering my own experiences with doctors...I understand!!!!

      Plus he's in a kind of a sad mood right now because he just lost another family member. :-( The family member took a turn for the worst and was on life support in the hospital. The family was planning to go over to say goodbye to him after his going into a coma, and the doctor saying that he was gone. Not breathing on his own. Brain dead. 

      The family decided to pull the plug, and they were going over to the hospital to witness the taking of his life support away. :-( But the family member died early in the morning. :-( ...I feel bad for my father. His family has had a lot of deaths lately. On the phone last night he and I had a conversation about how living a long life is a blessing in this day and age, but it can also be a bad thing...because you live long enough to see everyone you love pass away! :-(

    I'm thankful for my faith and my hope of everlasting life in perfect health!...Yeah, I know it's not everybody's belief, but I'm a Bible person. And I know that God wouldn't lie to me about something as serious as that!!...Frankly, I don't know how people get through the hard times of this life without hope of the better to come. If all I had to look forward to was more of the same thing I have now.....O_O....YIKES!!

Wait! Is This Actually Monday?!

      I've got a real 'case of the Mondays' this morning. You know...the kind of Monday where you barely have gotten over the weekend, and now you have a mountain of scheduled 'must dos' ahead of you...that you really aren't ready 'TO DO'!!

    Thankfully it looks like it's gonna be a beautiful day 'weather-wise'! So that at least the mountain of 'must dos' that I have to do today can be done without aches and pains. Well...not as many aches and pains! Unfortunately there's always at least one or two 'ouchies' lurking somewhere in this body of mine!! ^_^

      Hello Monday!! I'm coming at Ya! :-)) ...with studying to do, reading to catch up on, and crocheting to amuse myself with...Speaking of which, I amused myself with these yesterday! :-) ...

     ...A boutonniere in topaz, white and turquoise (above)...And one in royal blue, turquoise and white! (below) :-)
 

       I listed them in the Wuglyees shop yesterday. And I've got a list of other boutonnieres and lapel pins to 'MONDAY' around with today! ^_^

      I've also got some sick friends and family to re-connect with, and so, so much more stuff to do too!!!...*sigh*...What a time to have a case of the Mondays!...when I wish it was another Friday! :-))

      Is it wrong, on a Monday, to pretend that it's a Friday, so that you can make it to a Wednesday, and forget there ever was a Tuesday. A Tuesday that you wished was a Thursday anyway, because it precedes your beloved Friday?!!! ^_^

Pancake Sunday...With A 'Fishy' Twist!

     Ahhhhhh!...Sunday!...Quiet time to sit myself next to the window, watch my hummingbirds, and have a hot cup of green tea. :-) ... But wait! This isn't 'Green Tea' Sunday! It's 'pancake' Sunday! :-) So let's have some pancakes, shall we!!...
 

      I'm showing you my pancakes without the syrup poured all over them already, because some things shared with you on the blog this early in the morning would just be cruel and unusual punishment to your eyes!! LOL
       And when you 'sea' the 'food' I'm having with my pancakes this morning you just might think that it's cruel and unusual punishment to my stomach!! ^_^ It's....
 

 

     ...eggs and fish sticks!!! :-)
     
      I know!.....weird. Well, weird for some people! ^_^ Hubby and I don't eat meals according to the norm most of the time anyway!...so fish sticks and eggs, with pancakes, is not so unusual for me!...The fish sticks are all 'me' though. Hubby is allergic to some fish products, fish sticks included, so when he was bringing me breakfast in bed....YES HE DID!! ^_^...the fishy sticks were held at arm's length....sorta like '10-foot-pole' distance!! LOL
      

     Ummmmmmmm!.....fish sticks, eggs, AND pancakes!! :-) Are you drooling.....or horrified?! ^_^ Whatever!!!!!...You enjoy your breakfast...oatmeal, grits, Pop Tart, toast, omelet, donuts and coffee, bagel, yogurt, waffles...sausage McMuffin...boring! ^_^...and I'll enjoy mine!! (Just kidding!...I'm good with all of those things too. Just not this morning! ^_^)
