I Picked My Hook Back Up!!

      Guess what?!...I actually picked up my crochet hook this morning and did some crocheting! :-) I think the fact that I sold a couple crochet boutonnieres...out of the country too!...gave me the incentive! :-)

      Nothing major. Just a couple 'wuglyee-style' crochet keychains, and a couple of lapel pins. But, at this point, I'm happy to have incentive to crochet 'anything'!! The quietness of my shop, and the disappearance of my sales, did a number on my desire to create! I was starting to question whether I should just close the shop and 'call it a day'! O_O

      For now anyway, I'm back!! ^_^ ...

      Back to taking bits of colored thread, a metal crochet hook, and occasionally a vintage button, and making 'WUGLYEES'!! ^_^ ... Warm, maybe ugly, but easy to love creations! :-) ...

      Oh Yeah!...if you need some poetry, I have some of that in the shop too! :-) ... Okay, that's all of the 'shop talk' I have for today. :-) ... As to other stuff, our car had some repairs done today... $400 worth!! O_O YIKES! I wonder how much 'an arm and a leg' are going for these days?! LOL

      Our finances are as sparse as hen's teeth these days!! ^_^ We got some mail today, offering us a free trip to Orlando Florida. An obvious scam, we think, because the letter didn't even have a professional letter-head or a personal name signed to it!...Hubby and I were joking about how we could figure out a way to make the 'scammers' feel so sorry for us that they'd just send us the check for what the trip was suppose to cost...$1,800! LOL...We're not that desperate....YET!! ^_^

       And on the sports front, YAY!...'Baby Boy', Rafa Nadal, won his first round match at Wimbledon today!....Phew! O_O I was worried when he lost the first set!...but he re-grouped and pulled it out!! :-) 

      Other winners were Maria Sharapova, Wilfried Tsonga, Serena Williams, and Roger Federer! :-) Novak Djokovic won his match yesterday....I LOVE tennis! ^_^ I'm also loving soccer right now!...the FIFA World Cup in Brazil! :-) 

      I have to admit...I hardly paid attention to soccer last year. I was more into bicycling. But since the whole 'Lance Armstrong' and doping stuff, I haven't watched cycling since. It took all of the excitement out of it for me. Kinda sad too. :-( I loved watching the beautiful French countryside views fly by...Oh Well. This year I have soccer! :-) I can watch the goalie's body fly by, when he dives for a ball!! LOL

     Okay.....yak! yak! yak!! LOL...Now you know why I stopped writing in a diary many years ago!...I ran out of paper!! LOL Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!! :-) 

Distracted

I'm terribly distracted.
Watching tennis all the time,
I don't even wanna talk.
And it's a struggle writing rhyme.

And I'm wonderfully distracted.
Doing what I love to do.
Whoop and holler at the T.V.,
while I blog a bit for you.

I'm sorry I'm distracted.
And I hope you will forgive
that my mind can not be wrangled.
All my thoughts are in the sieve.

WOW!...I Didn't Know I Was Talking 'That' Much!!

      Oh Yes!...I do like to talk! :-) But I didn't know that I liked to talk as much as I realized I was talking, when I saw on my blog feed yesterday the amount of talking posts that I've done, and the number of posts I've posted to date!...just saying!...*deep breath* LOL...1,500 posts!!! O_O (Technically 1, 501 posts, counting today! ^_^) And I've only been blogging for four years!

      I starting blogging...'talking'...on April 29, 2010 in a post entitled Here We Go! It's funny to look back and see that my first words included me saying: "I'll be sharing my crocheting projects, giving you links and pictures. I'll share some of my poetry on a daily basis...if my brain cells hold out!" Ha! Ha! Apparently, even four years later, I still have some brain cells hanging on for dear life!! ^_^

      I've talked about just about everything on this blog!...just about! ^_^ Here's a few of the things I've talked about:

Look At What's Going On In My Backyard Now!!

      Over the years I've had lots of activity, and lots of 'critter visitors' to my backyard and surrounding home. Like in the header photo. That little sleepy baby was found on the ground when one of my friends came to visit! :-]

      And, of course, I've had lots of hummingbirds visiting the backyard over the years!...

 

      As a matter of fact, our hummingbird feeder is getting lots of activity daily right now!! :-) Such is the way it is at summertime around the Wug's backyard! ^_^ ... Did I mention that today is officially the first day of summer?! :-) Yep!...June 21, 2014!!...So, Happy Summer to all those in this time zone!! ^_^
         Okay...back to what I was talking about... :-)) ...'critter visitors' to the backyard! :-) We've had cardinals!...

      ...Lots and lots of robins!...

      In fact, we even found this robin egg just sitting on the patio after a storm!...

      A few days prior, it had been in this nest, that is in the tree in our backyard. :-) ...

 

      Hubby couldn't see the eggs at the time he took the photo. ^_^ He raised his arm above his head as far as he could...while hanging onto the tree in an awkward position...took the picture, and hoped he would see something! :-) And he did!!!...In fact, it's one of the best photos he's ever taken in our backyard! ^_^
        He couldn't figure out how to get a good focused shot of this little visitor to the backyard!...

      And I 'wish' his focus hadn't been as good when he took the photo of this....EWWWWWW!....'critter visitor' to the backyard!! O_O ...

      But this morning...this first day of summer, June 2014, we saw something in the backyard that we've never seen!...In fact, TWO things!!...Let me precede this by saying that I have indeed seen bunnies in my backyard. Or should I say "A" bunny! A very large bunny!! O_O I've seen him every once in a while slowly making his way across the yard.
        But this morning, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bunny jumping up and down!.....Up and Down...in the same spot!! O_O I was like: "What in the world?!!" O_O And then I saw that while that bunny was jumping up and down in the same spot, another bunny was 'spazzing out', running circles around him, and then sprinting left.....sprinting right.....sprinting left.....etc. O_O "Uhhhhh...what's up, Doc?" LOL
      I was stunned for quite a while, and then it dawned on me that I needed to show this to someone!...and hubby wasn't home! LOL I didn't think he would totally believe me...considering I wasn't feeling well when he left. I thought he might think my mind was not feeling well, like my body was not feeling well! LOL So I grabbed the camera and starting videoing!! ^_^ But I only caught a tiny bit of what they were doing...

      Then hubby came home and we were listening to music while I was talking to him about the bunnies, and how nice the weather was, and how it's the first day of summer...Then he started talking to me about how a man had been rude to him when he went in the ministry this morning...All of a sudden hubby stopped mid-sentence and starting 'spazzing out'!! O_O
      He yelled "Whoaaaaaaaaa!! Where's the camera?! Where's the camera?!!" :-0 And I was like: "What is it?! What is it?!"...And he pointed out the window, as he ran for the camera!!...This is what we saw!!...

         Just sauntering across the yard, just as bold as you please!!! :-) ...

      Now, I always knew it was possible for deer...or bears...or foxes...or even a mountain lion!...to waltz through my backyard at any time. BUT I've never actually seen it happen!!...except for the fox. We have seen foxes! We've just never photographed them because they were always moving too fast!...But this deer looked like he was at home! :-)
      A deer...at home in my backyard!!...on the weekend!...in Massachusetts!...on the first day of summer!! ^_^ Needless to say, it's not gonna be hard work finding something to smile about today!! ^_^ I hope the same holds true for YOU!! ♥ Have a good weekend, Everybody!

I Love A New Experience

I love a new experience!

     And no...the weather wasn't what put me in a weird mood. The weather is beautiful! :-] It's just me, I think. Or hormones! O_O But whatever it is, it got me to thinking about deep things. Almost to the point of writing a poem about it...but not quite! LOL But I did write them down!...When I finished I had a whole list of things! :-)

      The expression 'Life is too short' kept rolling around in my head!...but since I believe that life is really long...or at least 'it will be'!...I didn't want to start a list of 'Life Is Too Short To...'! So, instead, I made a list of 'Life Is Too Precious To...'! ^_^ And here it is!...

Life is too precious to:

-- Life is too precious to...be rude!...If you feel the need to be rude just don't say anything when you don't like something, or somebody...or just stay home and be in a bad mood in the privacy of your own house...where nobody will care anyway!!

-- Life is too precious to...not find something to smile about every day!...Or to smile just because someone else wants you to!...If you can't find 'something' during the day to smile about, the problem could be YOU, and, if so, your thinking process may just need a slight adjustment!

-- Life is too precious to...eat stuff you don't like just because you paid money for it!...Don't eat it!...Or don't buy it in the first place!...(thinking it "MIGHT" be good...only to be disappointed later!)

-- Life is too precious to...stress over things you can't do anything about, even if you spend a 'lot' of time stressing real hard about it!

-- Life is too precious to...spend a lot of time working on relationships with people you don't really want to be associated with anyway!... Or associating with so-called 'friends' (or relatives just because they're related to you) who don't bother keeping in contact with you, except when they need an ear to hear their problems, or a free source of stuff they can get for free, or borrow!

-- Life is too precious to...spend every waking hour just thinking about yourself! That inevitably leads to unhappiness, because you're bound to get sick of yourself and start thinking everybody else is sick of you too!...which, as the cycle goes, ends you right back up in the same place you started from...unhappy and sick of yourself! LOL

-- Life is too precious to... entertain lies and liars!...Truth should be the aim, and truth should be the standard for your life!

-- Life is too precious to..."LIKE" almost everything!!...LOVING almost everything?!...Yes, that's a different story!

-- Life is too precious to...be shallow, negative, undependable, pretentious, or righteous overmuch!...Working against all of these things can be a lot of work, but work well worth the payment in the end!

-- Life is too precious to...not take the time to try to be better!...No matter how good you think you are already, you can always be better! :-)

       So, there you are! ^_^ Yes, I know it's kinda deep for a Thursday! :-)) But you can maybe blame it on hormones...or on the fact that I haven't been sleeping that great the last couple of days, and I really need a nap right now!! LOL...A nap which I am about to get as soon as I post this blog!! ^_^ I have a meeting tonight, and if I don't go to sleep!.....Life is too precious to miss my meeting!! ^_^

My sleeping, dozing, napping,
is to my life a special key.
It unlocks and refreshes
and dispels anxiety!

Most people try to fill up
every hour in the day.
But me, I'd rather be asleep
and waste it all away.

There's plenty hours left
for all the flit and play and chore.
An hour for a nap right now?!
Why not?! There's 24!!

      Hello, Y'all!...Whatcha doing?!...Me?!...Oh, just trying to stay in the air conditioning! Oh Yeah...it's HOT today!! O_O Nothing earth-shattering. Just in the 80s is all. But considering that, after a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, I thought the temperature would get cooler today...it's surprisingly hot!...and humid!

      I don't have to go outside into it though, so 'Go Ahead, Mr. Weather! Knock Yourself Out!!' ^_^ I'm inside the house, in the air conditioning, scrolling through Etsy treasuries, like this one!...

      My poems don't usually get that much attention. Not even from me! LOL I haven't written more than two or three new poems over the last few months!...I write them when I get inspired to, but lately I haven't been inspired to do much of anything...except this blog...and some sports watching! ^_^

      Between the French Open tennis tournament, The NBA Basketball play-offs, and now...soccer!...

But most of my life is not worth writing blog posts about!...taking baths, putting on deodorant and lotion, folding clothes, eating hot dogs and chips, drinking lots of water, exercising, taking hummingbird pictures, trying to get my husband to be a bit more tidy...you know, LIFE!! ^_^
