Ohhhhh...Not Much!

       "So, what are you doing with yourself these days?"... And the answer is today's blog title. ^_^ Or, in the words of all the 'slang masters'..."Just Chillin'!" :-))
      I spent Friday in 'Virtual' Venezuela. That was FABU!! ^_^ I can still hear the wonderful music wafting through the house!...I mean, in my ears!! LOL...And I spent Saturday mostly sleeping, or in pain....WEATHER ISSUES. UGH!
      Yesterday I just crocheted all day, chatted with family a bit on Facebook, and ate! ^_^ The header photo, and the next couple of photos, is my attempt at sharing some of my meal with you. :-)
 

      It's a crock pot, or slow cooker, lasagne!! :-) Hubby did it!!...
 

      The only alteration to the recipe was an addition of an onion and some hot pepper flakes. You know we like our food spicy! ^_^ It was easy peasy! It only took four hours too!! By the time our head was full os spiritual food after the meeting at the Kingdom Hall yesterday, and our comfortable clothes were changed into, dinner was ready!!...and it was absolutely delicious!! :-)
 

      Hubby says the next time he makes it...and OH YEAH! there's gonna be a next time for this lasagne!!...he's gonna add a few more tomatoes...maybe cut a bit bigger. YUM!!

      On the crochet front, I'm making more 'Ugly Wuglyee' scarves! ^_^ And a few requested color scarves too! Crochet-wise, I'm starting to be like the old juke-box that you put your quarter in and request old standard songs! LOL "I'd like a purple one, please, and a pair of slipper booties. My old ones have bit the dust!" LOL
      This scarf (below) is white with flecks of green and pink...
 

      I ran out of yarn a lot faster than I thought I would, so it ended up being a circle neck scarf instead of a long scarf with pink fringe on one end, and mint green fringe on the other! ^_^ ... Maybe it's just as well I couldn't finish it that way, huh?! LOL
 

      I also made a little flower pin to wear with it...but the light in the house wasn't good enough to take a picture of it today. I think more rain is on the way. O_O UGH! ...Anyway, you've seen my flower pins, so I know you can visualize it! ^_^

      Today I started this black and purple scarf...

      I had to lighten the photo a bit using 'Picassa'...
 

      Only time will tell if I have enough yarn to make this one long enough!! LOL
 

      And, in between projects, I'm still adding squares to my granny square children's blanket!...*sigh*...my life is so boring these days!! LOL Colorful!...but boring. ^_^
 

      I'm really missing my backyard tree, and all of my visiting hummingbirds and cardinals, and blue jays, and...*sigh*...We still have robins all over the yard! But they're not the slightest bit interested in what's going on with me!! LOL They're pecking the ground for earthworms on their way up, so they don't drown in the downpour it appears we're about to get!! ^_^
      We're gonna have to put our suet feeder back up soon...before I go 'stir crazy' around here!!! AAARGH!!! The wall between 'stir crazy' and complete insanity is being held up right now by some beautiful red foliage that's popping out all over the woods out back...And sunsets. :-] 
      Okay...time to go and chat with hubby for a while...and then it'll be dinnertime again! ^_^ I think a pork roast and carrots are on tap for tonight!!! ^_^ ... What are you having?!!!...Enjoy, Everybody!! ♥

Light

I wait most every morning
to see soft light coming through the trees;
To see the darkness pierced by shadows,
making clarity a tease.

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if it's 'virtually'.

Finally...Some Good 'Crochet' News!!

      I've been in a sad mood about my Wuglyees Etsy shop for quite a while now. I haven't been talking about it because who wants to hear me whining every single day of my life about some un-sold yarn?! LOL NOT ME!!!
      But hubby came home with some great news today, and I'm about to bust at the seams while I'm sitting here typing!! ^_^ ...Before I get into it though, let me tell you that what you're looking at in these photos is my latest finished endeavor. :-)
      It's a children's size circular scarf and mittens. ♥ 
 

      I made them with the 'Oceana' Caron Simply Soft paints yarn. :-) It's my favorite thing to crochet with right now...the 'paints' yarn I mean. :-)
 

      The set is listed in my wuglyees etsy shop HERE, in case anybody is interested! ^_^

      Okay!...my news!!! :-) Hubby has been carrying a box of my scarves with him everywhere! He sold two scarves over the weekend, and he has a promise to sell at least two more pair on Friday!...But that's not the news! :-)
 

      The news is that he showed my scarves, and passed out business cards to my wuglyees shop, to the staff at the facility he drives for, and today the facility supervisor told him that they would like to have a craft show at the facility featuring my crochet items!!!! :-)

      Isn't that wonderful!!!! ^_^If I didn't have so much product around here already I might be a little nervous! But I could probably supply my own crochet shop with items for a long time right now!! :-)) And I'm still crocheting every day!!

      I'm not exactly sure when they're planning to do the show. The details are yet to be worked out. But it's still VERY exciting!! :-) I just have to figure out what items to focus on making more of in the meantime....Hmmmm O_O ... Any suggestions, Y'all?!!
      

      Oh, I'm sure I'll think of something!! LOL ... By the way, I'd like to say a big 'THANK YOU!!' to my friend who is also now my personal care assistant. She made me up a flyer on her computer yesterday, full of the crochet items from my shop, with my website address and beautifully colorful pictures and butterflies and everything! ^_^ It was such a sweet thing for her to do, and I really appreciate it!! ♥♥♥
      Today hubby copied a bunch of them and has been going to different places around town and tacking them up! :-) It's nice to be loved and appreciated for who you are and what you do!! Yes! It really is!! :-)

      So, you can find me, for the next little while coming up, sitting quiet and crocheting my fingers to the bones, while listening to the new tv broadcasting website of Jehovah's Witnesses!! :-) I LOVE it!!!!! There's such good information on it, and such encouraging programming. WELL NEEDED in this day and time!!...And, of course, with me trying always to keep life a bit more 'smile-worthy', having this website makes it a lot easier!! ♥

      Besides my normal Monday fare, there wasn't anything extraordinary about today. But that was just fine, because some Mondays just need to be Mondays! Uneventful...quiet...spaghetti-filled...Mondays! ^_^

      So, since it was uneventful, I decided to make my own event!...with a few cuties from Etsy! :-) ...

My Favorite People

My favorite people listen well,
and talk almost as good.
They like to eat good food,
and hang out in my neighborhood.

They like a chuckle now and then,
and dance when music's played.
And give nice complements...
and no! they haven't all been paid!

Some 'favorite people' are, I'm sure,
still ones I haven't met.
But until then, my favorites are
ones owed a 'loving' debt.

They've loved me through some heartache,
and the hardest, roughest time.
They're my favorites for a reason,
and deserve this 'Debbie' rhyme.

'Typical' Is As 'Typical' Does!!...But That's Typically Not Me!!

       There is nothing typical about my life, or about me! I mean NOTHING!...And, frankly, I kinda like it that way! ^_^ I mean who wants to be pigeon-holed, or be predicable?!...Not Me! I like being the kind of girl who when she hears the music for a Hallmark card commercial doesn't know if she's gonna smile, start dancing up and down, cry, or simply 'poo-poo' it as being too sappy. LOL
     It's just this kind of non-typical behavior that led me to my incredible breakfast this morning, of leftover spicy pork and rice, a cornbread flap-jack, and a cup of green tea! :-) No one would look at this breakfast, think of me, and say: "Typical!" :-))

      And thankfully I'm married to someone with the same kind of non-typical sensibilities! I mean...he made homemade collard greens, with smoked turkey wings, in the crock pot (slow-cooker) yesterday! :-) And it was delicious!!!!
      Granted, sometimes non-typical 'can' be a problem...Case in point, some ugly non-typical scarves that I can't get rid of!!! LOL...

       And also there have been some things cooked around here that....Ooooo! O_O I don't even wanna tell you about them on the off chance that you might call the food and drug administration on us!!!...because I'm SURE some of it was chemically changed into something else when it hit the pan!! LOL
      Also with UN-predictability sometimes comes frustration. Yep! We've definitely had some of those days too!! AAAAARGH!!!...But, generally -speaking, being a non-typical couple has given us some happy days dancing around the house to old Commodores songs, has led to some pretty fantastic 'virtual' dates to exotic places all over the world...while we were in our pajamas! ^_^, and has led to some pretty crazy and memorable conversations that led to us getting closer than ever. :-)
       So, today is dedicated to the non-typical people of the world. Be okay with not being completely predicable every day!...By all means, tow the line and be a 'team player' sometimes. That's also necessary! But don't think of yourself as not okay when you do things unlike other people might do it. That just means that you're not typical. And that's okay sometimes too!! :-)

      Okay, moving on!! ^_^ I just wanna show you the new children's size mittens I put in the Wuglyees shop this week!...

      I made them with the Caron Simply Soft paints yarn that I used for that last hat I made a few weeks back.

      They're a combination of turquoise, green, and blue.
 

       Not typically what I would make either! ^_^ There isn't a flower on them anywhere!!

      I'm trying something non-typical for marketing too. I'm giving away a free pair of these mittens to anyone that follows me on Facebook and buys $40.00 worth of product from my Wuglyees shop! :-) So, do your little ones need some warm homemade handmade mittens?! ^_^ If you ask 'pretty please' I might even make you a pair in the color you want!! ^_^

Dance

Life is a dance, they always say.
It has a rhythm and a rhyme,
It makes you set a pace for it,
while it flows in the stream of time.

And dancing has expressions
that I think are kinda neat,
like dancing eyes, and dance of joy,
happy dance, and dancing feet.

Whatever dance you do today,
I hope life pleases you.
It really doesn't matter how.
Just dance! I hope you do!
