Wanna know what I'm making next?!!......*cricket sounds* :-)

      Okay...so listen to me now. I know that most of you aren't interested...in the least!...about what my next artsy crochet hat project is gonna be!...I KNOW!! ^_^ But if you think that that's gonna stop me from showing you what it's gonna be...you're waaaay wrong! LOL
      I don't have much going on in my life right now, except tennis...{"Congratulations 'Baby Boy' Rafa Nadal for pulling it out!! :-) ... And you too Maria Sharapova!!...Maybe next year, Lleyton Hewitt!" ^_^}...and some...SHHHHHHHH!...*whispering*...football slippers, size 12!! ^_^ Yes, I'm making them for my hubby! :-) But hubby has no idea. So...shhhhhhh! ^_^
      I still have a soft pink baby blanket to make, but I found out that she doesn't need it until around the end of February...Good thing too! My funds are kinda low, and I need to buy some yarn for it!... :-] ...But, for right now, it's artsy crochet hat projects by day, and covert football slipper crocheting by night...or whenever hubby leaves the house! LOL
      The next artsy crochet hat will be this color...
      

     ...It's 'berry blue'! :-) ... Why this color, you ask?! O_O Well, because I found a really artsy applique, and it has this color in it's stones! :-) ...
 

     My applique has chains and rhinestones...or at least that's what I think they are!! LOL {Wouldn't it be something if they were some expensive gem?!...No chance, people!! ^_^} The applique also has ribbons, wrinkled fabric, and tiny safety pins! ^_^ 
 

      Now, if that's not artsy I don't know what is!!! ^_^ I can hardly wait to finish it to see how it turns out!! :-) And then it'll be on to the next one...with pink, and a little 'Mona Lisa' inspiration! ^_^ ... I know...I know!! Ha! Ha!...But you know I'm gonna show it to you anyway!! LOL..."Hello!...Is anybody still out there?!"...*cricket sounds* :-) Have a good rest of the day...whoever! ^_^ ♥

You Probably Don't Care!

I know you probably don't care,
but I will tell you anyway!
I mean, I have to talk about it.
It's what I do most every day!

I know you have your own things going,
and my things? You could care less.
But I have to spill it, talk,
share, converse, chat, or confess.

Don't you have some days like that,
when you just 'let down your hair'?
Well, today was that for me,
and it's okay if you don't care!

As you see, it didn't stop me.
I'm still talking, cracking wise.
You don't have to read about it.
You can cover up over your eyes! ^_^

'Baby Wuglyee' Has A New Friend...Sorta Kinda!

       Say hello to Baby Wuglyee's new 'stomping buddy'. I nicknamed him "Slipper"! ^_^ The reason will be clear in a minute...{In case you're not a regular around here, 'Baby Wuglyee' is the name of my one and only crocheted stuffed animal. You can see him in this blog post --> HERE.}
       So, here's the story...I made all of the pieces for this little puppy crochet slipper, and then spent the most frustrating night ever, and this morning, trying to figure out how to put him together and make him look like an innocent little puppy, and not a frustratingly bad pain in my neck!! ^_^

      As I was turning the pieces, this way and that way, up and down, hither and yon, it occurred to me that, if I ever figured it out, this was DEFINITELY gonna be a candy holder when I'm done!! LOL Even the idea that I would have to make another one just like it in order for the two of them to be slippers....gave me cold chills up and down my back!!!...and hither and yon too!! LOL

      Yes, I know what you're thinking. "But he's so cute!!" :-) Actually, I agree! And if it was only a matter of whether he was cute enough or not I'd already have made the other one! But, for me, that's not the issue! ^_^ For me, the issue is whether I have enough brain cells left to destroy in order to make another matching slipper!...and the answer is a definite.....NOOOOOOO!!!! ^_^

      I have a custom order of a pink baby blanket to get to work on, and making it, with a name personalized into the blanket, is gonna take all the brain cells I have left!! Another crochet puppy slipper would take me over the edge into 'play-with-my-lips-while-drooling'-ville!! LOL And if I end up there you guys wouldn't even come and visit me. I just know it!! Ha! Ha!

      My husband...and 'Baby Wuglyee, I might add!...have fallen in love with 'Slipper'! :-) He keeps asking me...every 15 minutes or so...."Seriously...you're not gonna make the other one?!...Seriously?!!" ^_^ Some things are so hard for him to accept...like the fact that I don't like catchup on my collard greens, and that tennis tournaments don't operate with weight classes! LOL

       I, on the other hand, have accepted the fact that 'Slipper' may become a new member of the family...as Baby Wuglyee's puppy friend. :-) ... Or he'll be sold as a candy holder in my Wuglyees etsy shop! LOL I'm still trying to decide. And no!...Baby Wuglyee doesn't get a vote!! ^_^
      And before I go, I also would like to admit that I am aware that my 'Slipper' doesn't look like he's suppose to look according to the pattern photo!...

      But frankly, after figuring out where all of his parts and pieces were suppose to go, I was not in the mood for felt eye cutting, freckle sewing on, and pom pom noses!!! LOL Enough was enough!! So I found some buttons that did the trick....buttons that weren't looking at me with that disapproving demeanor! ^_^ ...and I let that be that!! 
       Hubby did make me consider the possibility, in the future, of making him a pair of football slippers. :-) ...

      Since they don't have eyes, ears, or noses, I think I might be able to manage them without too much brain cell loss! ^_^ But not right now!...And no...'Slipper' does not get a vote!! LOL...Have a good rest of the day, Everybody. And you too, 'Baby Wuglyee'! :-) ♥

Butterfly-ish

I'm feeling butterfly-ish.
Wanna flutter...move real slow.
Wanna wander...mind and body.
Not be fast, and 'on the go'.

I'm feeling like I need
a quiet day to hang around.
Have everything wrapped up,
and just block out surrounding sound.

I'm feeling butterfly-ish.
Wanna lay in bed till noon.
Wanna have some time to morph.
Need a tree and a cocoon.

Tomorrow they'll be time
to change and modify.
To spread my wings, add color,
like a brand new butterfly.

Hmmmmm.......Is This 'TOO' Ambitious For Me?!!

      Okay Y'all...I think I let my creativity...and ambition!...get away from me this time. O_O I mean, what was I thinking when I saw those cute football slippers in one of my old crochet books, and thought to myself: "Heyyyyy! :-) I can do those easy!!"?...I'll tell you what I was thinking.....I was thinking waaaay too much, and waaaay too big for my britches!! LOL
      But I'm not saying that because I actually tried to make the football slippers.....Noooooo!....Or the cute crochet moccasins!...
 

      No!....I'm saying it because my crazy head thought that those would be tooooo easy!! O_O So I decided to crochet doggie slippers instead! O-O ...
 

      Well, not 'doggie' slippers exactly. Those looked a little bit too ambitious, even for my 'LET'S DO IT!!' head! LOL...Nope! I started some 'puppy dog' slippers! ^_^ ...
 

      Ugh!!....Remember back a few years ago when I promised you that I wasn't ever gonna be making any more stuffed animals, and that my 'Baby Wuglyee' bear was my one and only?!.....Sooooo, how did I talk myself into making these slippers?!!!! O_O Clearly...they are animals. Aren't they?!!!
      Well, technically, they really aren't 'JUST' stuffed animals. They're slippers! :-) That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! LOL...Although, after working on ALL THESE CROCHET PIECES...Aargh!!!!...all day, they might not end up being a 'PAIR' of slippers!! ^_^ They may end up being only ONE slipper...that I sell as a candy holder! :-)) ... like I did that other involved slipper I made a while back! LOL

      My real excuse for starting them was that I wanted to show my girlfriend how easy crocheting slippers would be, since she crochets herself but has never attempted them!...But what was I thinking, starting with animal slippers?! O_O ...
 

      If I had known before I started them that there would be all of these pieces...I'd be showing her how cute it is to make washcloths!!...Just saying!! LOL...

         He can look as cute as he wants too!....No!!!...I'm not buying it!!.....Mr. Puppy trouble!! LOL This is an experience I've had before...and clearly I didn't learn from!...But now...I have!!...for good!  *woof! woof!* LOL

I Love A New Experience

Has Your Phone Ever Caused This To Happen To You?!

      It's very, very early in the morning for me, but I thought I'd pop in and show you what my weekend was like! ^_^ Thanks to looking at this beautiful bathrobe from a shop on Etsy, the only thing I can say that was wrong with my weekend was that I didn't have a nice bathrobe like this to 'knock around' in!! LOL

     I did get numerous massages, and got my hair washed. But other than that......

      ...there wasn't much! ^_^
 

      Our phone didn't ring all weekend either!!......but there was a reason. :-))
 

      A reason we didn't even realize until late yesterday.....Uhhhh....we forgot to pay the phone bill! O_O Has that ever happened to you?...that you forgot to pay a bill and then lost some service or the other before you realized?! O_O
       The truth is...we knew we were going to be cutting it close, because we didn't have enough funds to pay it early, like we usually do. But then...we got visitors...and then it was a holiday here, with everything closed....and...and....UGH!
      Thankfully we still have a cell phone! Otherwise we might still be in a bubble of obliviousness!! ^_^ Apparently his boss was needing something, and had tried to call, and instead ended up leaving a message on the cell phone...which was, of course, OFF!! ^_^
      Actually, the lack of a phone might've given us an even nicer and quieter weekend! :-) So.....it's all good!! ♥ I hope your weekend was nice too!...And have a good week too, Everybody!! ♥

      Okay! I said I would be back...and here I is!! LOL I finished my sunshine yellow artsy crochet hat...below...but first I wanna show you the two other hats I saw in VendulkaM's etsy shop! They totally pushed my 'CUTE!' meter off the radar!! ^_^

      The above crochet hat has ruffles, colors, buttons, and bows! What's not to love!!! ♥

        And this one (above) has a slouch to it, and a colorful flower-like brooch!!! :-) I'm telling you...these are the cutest crochet hats ever!! ^_^ I only wish I had thought of the design myself!!

      Speaking of thinking of the design myself though....I did think up this design (below)!!...

      I'm afraid my photography hasn't gotten any more creative though! LOL And the icy darkness of today's Holyoke Massachsetts sky isn't helping!! ^_^
 

      Oh Well, I did the best I could, and that will have to be enough today!!

      The rain steadily falling on our Kingdom Hall parking lot today, with temps below freezing turning the whole thing into a skating rink, caused our meeting to be shortened even!! In the interest of safety, I think it was a wise decision!
      It caused a detour away from the grocery store too. Hubby needed some flour to make his cube steak....BUT he couldn't go. Creativity to the rescue again! ^_^ We had corn meal! ^_^ ....In a few minutes I'll find out if that was a good substitute or not!! LOL
      Anyway!...It was a good weather day for crocheting!...and hopefully {I'll find out in a couple of hours! ^_^} a good day for football! ^_^ The New England Patriots are playing the Indianapolis Colts! :-) ... By the way, the Australian Open tennis tournament starts tonight too {Uhhhh...today, if you live in Australia!! :-)} Oh Yeah! It's gonna be a good couple of weeks upcoming for me!!!!! ^_^

Hungry Stomach

My empty stomach's grumbling
was as noisy as could be!
So demanding in it's urging,
and it's "Hungry" symphony.

I awakened to it's music,
and the fluttering that it caused.
I tried to just ignore it,
with its twist and turning gnaws!

Like a 'stick-in-hand' conductor,
setting music to a riot,
I'll direct some food into it,
so that it will just be QUIET!

      Sorry I missed my blog post yesterday. I have no excuse...except forgetfulness! ^_^ I kept thinking about doing it at different intervals yesterday, and then...kept putting it off because I knew that linking the shops was gonna take me a bit of time. And then...next thing you know...Saturday turned into Sunday, and the moment had passed! O_O

      I didn't want the moment to pass today though, so I'm up at five...a.m.!...on this Sunday morning, linking and talking about my Etsy finds like a big ole mature, non-procrastinating adult!! ^_^

A Scarf?.....On Date Night?!!!

      Like most Fridays,  all day I've been preoccupied with my 'virtual' trip with my Honey Bear for tonight's date. ♥ {Uhhhh...'Honey Bear' would be my husband of 33 years, for those who are not regulars to my blog! ^_^} We're planning a trip to a spa! :-) ...Well, it's more 'my' choice than his! ^_^ I needed some 'primping' and stuff! ^_^  But he's game. And besides, he needs a haircut...sooooo, as he puts it: "Why not!" LOL

       But I had a crochet request from a friend before I got completely into 'date night' mode! :-) She asked me to make a scarf for her little boy. Apparently he lost his other one. :-( And the temperatures around here lately have been brutal! In the single digits and stuff! Brrrrrr!

      You might not be able to tell from my bad photos!.. ^_^ ...but the colors of the scarf are country blue...

      You'll just have to take my word that it looks much better in person! :-) ...
