Is the Weather Making You Crazy...Too?!

      {This photo and the one below are scenes from the blog Croatia}

    This week Beli and her mom will be flying across the Atlantic ocean from Croatia to the West to visit friends and family. She's trying to soak in as much sun as she can in Croatia before she goes, even though she says she's looking forward to playing in the snow with her nephews in the West!........Really?! Why would she, or anybody for that matter, be looking forward to leaving this kind of weather...
    ...to go to this kind of weather?!
    {Remember Mariann Rea's snow photos I shared on the blog HERE?!}...Oh well! Apparently some people can appreciate snow. Some people like being cold and wet, and enjoying the avoidance of frost bite and hypothermia!!! LOL.....Me?!...I like snow...Really, I do!...But from a distance!...Through the window, or on T.V. in an old movie...but NOT on my body, under my feet, and on my head!!! LOL
   I'm not that thrilled with rain the last couple of days either! It rained a dreary kind of 'here comes the gloom and darkness' rain ALL DAY yesterday!! This was all I saw outside my window from morning till night...
    And as much as I want to complain and pout about the weather here in Massachusetts, I KNOW it could have been waaaaaay worse! I mean, Chicago has been having horrid weather! Heavy storms in their area halted air travel to and from that midwestern city! They had a really powerful storm over the weekend that unleashed snow and strong winds across the upper Midwest area and left behind some dangerously cold temperatures. People there working to dig out of that mess are really going to have some challenges!!
     That storm closed major highways in several states, canceled more than 1,600 flights in Chicago, and collapsed the roof of the Minnesota Vikings' football stadium!! I saw the 16 inches of snow come cascading down onto the football field! NO FUN!!!
     At least six deaths from this storm too were reported! The storm dropped nearly 2 feet of snow in Minnesota and Wisconsin! And heavy snow also was reported in northwest Indiana and southeast Michigan early Monday as the storm marched east...Doesn't sound like people could possibly be looking forward to the beginning of this week, does it?! :-/
    But the weather is not ONLY causing havoc here in the states! In a whole other part of the world, Estonia, in Northern Europe, they've been experiencing blizzards and...STORM MONIKA!! Here's some photos I found. Trust me, after you see these you'll be thankful for rain....and longing for sun! :-)
          A Youtube video of a man driving in the storm in Estonia gives you the full experience!!
    And yet, dogs still found something fun about it!....
     ...and apparently some people did too! :-)
    Why am I so focused on this weather?! Well...frankly...it's because I know that pretty soon it'll be coming our way!! In fact, these photos of snow storms is exactly what Massachusetts usually starts to look like after December, on into March!... *sigh*....Why can't I be on a sunset cruise somewhere?! :-]

     So, Chicago....Estonia....I feel your pain. Or I WILL feel your pain very soon! This cold and rain is doing a number on my joints and muscles and I don't like it!!....I don't like it one bit!!! Grrrrr! Now, have I complained enough for you?! ^_^ Well, stay tuned. I'm sure I'm not done.....The cold season has only just begun!! And my complaining can be endless!......I have poetry!!! ^_^

Poetry

Poetry, the gift of words,
that help you say whats in your heart;
that puts your thoughts of life together,
but pulls emotions all apart.

Poetry, your quiet friend,
that gives your voice a place to land;
that gives the things you'd  never say
a way to jump out from your hand.

Poetry, done to a beat,
a beat of words, said right in time,
without confusion of the music,
but just the rythum and the rhyme.

Poetry, phrase harmony;
the way a noun and adverb meet;
the way they line up line-by-line,
and all Not needed they delete.

Poetry, the passing thoughts,
and all the others I hold dear,
of all the people and the places
that I've written down right here.

Poetry, the gift of words,
and putting them together too;
Without the pen and paper
what in the world would my mind do?
