I Used To Be A Dancing Machine...Now I'm A Crocheting Machine!!

This past weekend, listening to music and talking for hours with hubby, I was reminded how different I am from the girl I was in my youth. Not necessarily in a bad way, but definitely in a 'different' way!
I still love a lot of the same things I used to love...except high heels and Afros (I've definitely out-grown them!! LOL). But, for instance, even though I still love spending hours 'zoned inward', with just my yarn and crochet hook, I still like some of the same things going on around me....like, to have some music...or a tennis match (or some kind of sports....basketball championships coming soon too..WOOHOO!!!)...going on around me, in the background, so to speak. Something I can root for, or tap my feet and bop my head to!

And, considering how 'zoned in' I've been, trying to finish my custom ordered hats, I'm surprised I still 'CAN' tap my feet and bop my head! LOL Just look at what I've been doing...
Oh Yeah....me and the red hat having been having some fun!! I've only started it...Oh...about 4 times!!!! UGH! It was my own fault though. I hadn't written the instructions down very well when I made the brown one for the shop....I was doing that 'just using up some old yarn' thing. I wasn't thinking, back then, about having to re-do it!!
So, when I went to re-make it for my customer I realized that I had the pattern written down, but I hadn't said what kind of yarn I had used, or what size needles either!...UGH! I started two hats at the same time, and got them all the way to the brim before I realized that they were too small!! (I went back and finished one of them yesterday...and hopefully will have the other one finished today)
Then I started them again with larger needles, and a different pattern....Nope! That wasn't it!...So, I pulled those apart and started again!...This time....YEAH! Perfect!! :-) Red hat all done. {And it really looks more like this color...
...The light outside made it look more crimson.} And....
...the black hat...
...is all done too!!! :-)
After I make the flowers for the small hats, and list them in the shop for sale, I'll be finishing up the handle for my Yoyo bag...
...and then be hunting for my next project! :-) Do any of you have a request...a challenge...something...anything....for me to do?! ^_^ I'll be game!!
Okay, before I go back to my tennis 'game', I want to alert you all to a really cute giveaway that Priscila Peters Decor is having. Click HERE and go make a comment on her blog and get in on it!! It'll be ending on June 5, 2011. This is what she's giving away...
Pretty cute, huh?! :-) Alright! Have a good day! I'm off to do some dancing!!....after the poem, of course! :-]

Life is a dance, they always say.
It has a rhythm and a rhyme,
It makes you set a pace, while it
flows in the stream of time.

And dancing has expressions
that I think are kinda neat,
like dancing eyes and dance of joy,
happy dance and dancing feet.

Whatever dance you do today,
I hope life pleases you.
It really doesn't matter how.
Just dance! I hope you do!

'I Went To A Garden Party......'

As you probably already figured out from this post's title....hubby has been in the garden again! :-) And guess what?!....*sigh*...His plants are growing!!
These little plant boxes, with not much going on in them...
...have now produced these...
I hope you clicked the video at the top, so that at least you're listening to Ricky Nelson sing to you right now!! :-))
Aren't you enthralled!!! LOL
Hmmmmm...Look at that grass! I think it needs mowing...
...I digress!...LOL Back to the PLANTS!
And then we end with a bang!!!!...
Awwwwww! :-( Did the song end already?!!...Oh well, I've got some more greenery for you....What?!! O_0 No need for all the anger!!...It's greenery from a Treasury I'm in right now! :-)

Thank you MaritimeArts!!!
Well, I'm off to spend some time with my hubby. He's off from work today...Yippee!!!...and finish the black hat. I have about 6 more rows to go. Then it's gonna be some internet shopping for a washing machine...The one we thought we were gonna be able to get, we couldn't. We had a whole "issue" with the people at "The Home Depot" about delivery times. We needed our washer "today", and they wanted to delivery our washer Wednesday or Thursday!...UGH!
What happened to the days when you could just go into a store...any kind of store...and see what you wanted, pick it up, and go home with it?! Now...everything has a delivery date...'IF' they can get it from their massive stock pile that's located in Timbuktu, right next to 'when-pigs-fly-land'!!! UGH!
Okay, not that's two days of semi-ranting. LOL And you want to know why?!!...I got another 'VISITOR' again today!!!!!!! UGH It's hormone central in my house right now...and 'Mama ain't happy'!!! LOL Maybe after a little crocheting and some calm music and some FOOD...I'll be my old self again. I'll keep you informed!! ^_^ Until then...a little music, and a wish for an extra brain that I could really use today! I Love you!

I only have one brain

There've been times when I felt that I needed
an extra brain to remember some stuff.
An extra noggin to handle the chaos,
when my life and my schedule got tough.

A much bigger cranium for non-essentials;
Somewhere to go when my brain wants to bail.
An extra universe inside my skull space,
where I could place all my 'Mental Junk Mail'.

But, knowing my thinking, there's no use
having two places for my mind to stretch.
Two places to toss around ideas.
Just more balls of ideas I can't catch!

My one brain is an occupied scramble.
A pink-celled, forgetful and frustrated mess!
Do I need another brain somewhere,
holding problems that I must address?

No, I have enough things to focus on.
Things so confusing and numerous to do.
So it's a good thing I only have one brain!
What in the world would I ever do with two!

Wildness is EVERYWHERE!!!

I don't rant often on this blog...not in a bad way, I mean. But lately, with people I'm acquainted with, and with all of the talk in the news about it, I just had to say one thing about infidelity...UGH!!!
I'm not gonna go on and on about it, but I just want to say...Clearly the apparatus that they're using to 'think' with is not functioning correctly. Maybe they need an extra one!!!......Brain, people!...I'm talking about their brains!...What are you thinking?! LOL Get your minds out of the gutter! ^_^ Okay....rant over!...Moving on!! :-]
I'm going to leave the mental chewing of those things to other people. I've got my own things I'm chewing on...so to speak. Like custom hats...
...in black...And...
...in red!
...And yep! I'm almost finished with them! Well, the red one 'is' finished, as you can see!
I should be all done with the black one by today too! :-) Ahhhh! Sweet success!
And while I've been slaving away on crochet hats, hubby has been slaving away at...okay, so he's just watching...his gardening.
He's also been slaving away at what the best way to photograph them are. LOL
What do you think? Do you like the ground view?! :-)...Well, guess what?! Plants is not the only thing he's been photographing this morning! :-)
He's been on a kind of morning stalking...as you can see, starting with the header photo. What has he been stalking?!
...nest shot of the robin eggs!
Got it!!!! :-) Well, considering that the Mama Robin wasn't very happy with him, and he had to endure a lot of her noise, and had to be on watch that she didn't swoop down and peck his eyes out or something...it was a very good shot!!! LOL
It's all about the wild today, people! Wild behavior....wild plants....robin egg stalkers in the wild...*Teehee*...and a movie theme, "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken". I loved this movie of the true story of this woman's life. And I was shocked that it was rated 'G', in a world of salacious movies...and it wasn't a cartoon...and it was VERY good!!! So, I'll leave you a little song and movie theme...and a poem of course! :-)

The poem today is more than 20 years old. It was during a time when hubby and I were doing some growing. Thankfully, we're tons of growth away from the sentiments of this poem now. Hopefully someone will get something positive out of it, or get some helpful insight.

I Need To Get Your Attention

I want, so much, not to need you,
and, when you're absent, not to fret;
But thats not me! I need attention.
But I don't feel you 'get it' yet.
No- you don't 'get it' yet!

Should I cook, and just smell pretty?
(That would please you-I just bet!)
But I don't gamble with my feelings,
and you're gonna get that yet.
Yea! You're gonna get it yet!

You say you don't know what I want;
And you act like we just met;
But I know that you have knowledge.
You just don't want to do it yet.
Why don't you want to do it yet?

Here's a few things you should know:
I'm not just like a household pet
that you can feed and leave for hours,
and wonder if I'm happy yet.
You Know that I'm not happy yet!

Maybe I should be a puppy;
At least you'd take me to the vet!
(Not like that trip we took to Paris-
that trip I haven't gone on yet.
No-I haven't gone on yet!)

I need to have you listen to me,
and not just tell you what to get.
I know you think I talk too much,
But you just haven't heard me yet.
No-You haven't heard me yet!

I try to have you look at me,
but you just stare in the T.V. set.
I fight commercials for attention,
but you still haven't got it yet.
Haven't got it?-no-not yet!

When you're stressed out, and I know it,
I try to be your safety net;
But when I'm stressed, and feeling anxious
I still don't think you've noticed yet.
Thats right!-You haven't noticed yet!

I ask you not to sit so quiet
When you're driving-you forget!
You force yourself to start a sentence
that you haven't finished yet.
No-You haven't finished it yet!

You want me to go back to work
so I can help you pay our debt.
But there's some debt that you're still oweing.
Attention to that's not being paid yet.
Sorry-You haven't paid it yet.

In exchange for trips and flowers
and flying to Paris in a jet,
I'd like to go 'back-road' sight-seeing,
But you haven't made time yet.
No-You haven't made time yet!

There's been no time for going swimming
(Only my eyes have gotten wet);
There's been no time for 'time together'.
You say: "Real soon. But just not yet".
But "Real soon" has not come yet!

We'd eat and sleep and sit in silence
and just have sex (thats if I let!);
But I need more, some real attention.
And thats why you don't get it yet.
Dear, what is it that you don't get yet?

You don't get that I've been lonely?
That I need my appetite whet?
That this just can't go on forever?
But you're bound to get it yet.
And, until then this bone won't set!
