Today Is The Day To Talk About A 'Titanic' Love!!

        Jack and Rose, characters from the movie 'Titanic', had a great love that spanned years of time. They went through struggles and family disapproval. But even a massive shipwreck could not erase the love they had for each other.
       Oh's a sad movie, in parts. But it's based on a true event in history...the 1912 sinking of the Titanic luxury liner. It wasn't a happy event!...But the way it was told in this movie, with the tragedy and sadness and all, 'was' in the way of a great love story!!!
       Are you asking yourself: "Why is she talking about this today?!!"....Well, I'll tell you in a minute. ^_^ But first, I wanna share some of the Etsy items I found based on the Titanic. And based on the love of Jack and Rose!
        You can get a notebook with the movie poster scene on the front of it...
        A giclee print of an original oil painting, fully authenticated and signed...
       A painting inspired by someone whose grandfather's family were all due to immigrate to America and sail on Titanic...
         A Vintage Ikat Pillow Cover...
      Some Titanic Cufflinks...
       Or a necklace made from movie film!
         All of these things will remind you of Jack and Rose's great love...And that's what I think of when I think of the movie 'Titanic' their love just went on and on. Just like me and my hubby's.
      Yep! Today is my Wedding anniversary!!! :-) Hubby and I have been married for 29 years today!!!!! :-)
      We've come a long way from these starry-eyed, syrup and biscuit eating, 'Don't-know-what-they're getting-themselves-into' people below!! LOL
          I can hardly believe that the people we are now.....used to be these people!!......
       But I'm afraid it's true!!!! ^_^
      So, my 'Jack', my 'Rhett', my 'Mr. Darcy'.........Happy Anniversary my love! :-) We're old people now......but ours is still an on-going great love!! :-] And as long as it doesn't end the way Jack and Rose's ended.....we're good!!!! ^_^
       Somebody should be playing some music right now!!!!! ^_^

{Okay....the poem is a sappy one. If you don't wanna throw up....turn your head!! This one is for my 'baby' of 29 years today!! :-) I love you honey-Boo!!}

Happy Together

Happy, yappy, scrappy Deb;
Easy, smiley, helpful Jeff;
couldn't live their lives apart;
could not be loving, by themself.

Joyful, faithful, are these two,
with such great love for one another;
couldn't think of being alone.
Could not be one-if not together.

Laughing, crying, playing hard,
sleeping, eating, breathing too,
is always done on automatic
by "Baby", "Honey", "Squeeky", "Boo"!

Happy, yappy, complementer;
Loving, patient Jeff, the head.
Both belong to God, Jehovah
while they're living or they're dead.
All that's left to say was said!

"Backyard....He Wants To Hold Your Hand"

         It's official....he's in love. hubby, who will be celebrating 29 years of being married to me at the end of the month, is in love with another...........and I'm alright with that! ^_^
           Now, you know that if it was some flitting, flirting , female.....I'd have a problem with it!! LOL But he's in love with his sunflowers!!!....Well, technically he's in love with the whole backyard this morning!!
        He's so smiley and happy!!! He's out there talking to the flowers...
         ...and to these little guys...(And in case you can't really see it from this blown up picture of his....*Teehee*....this is a cardinal!)
            And this is a little frog!
            Oh Yeah! He's in giddy love!!! He's whispering sweet nothings to frogs and birds this early in the morning!! And what is he whispering to them?!.....It's about me!! He keeps trying to convince the backyard that I love her too!!

         But Uh.....My love is strictly for the inside, non-sneezy words on paper, written by one Miss Jane Austen, this morning! :-)
        I 'do' get why he's 'all about the Beatles and Paul McCartney' this morning, however. The concert Paul McCartney gave in Montreal, the one he almost went to in 'the Paris of Canada', was this past week....and Mina, from ...sending postcards blog,  just did a blog post about the concert with all of the details. You can go over and read all about it HERE!! But here's a few of the photos she shared!!...
           "Sunflowers and Paul McCartney, you have made my hubby so happy this morning....that I wanna hold your hand!!!" :-) Can't you just hear a 'Beatles' song playing in the background?! ^_^

      I think it's gonna be a pretty good Saturday! ^_^ I hope it is for all of you too!
The poem represents hubby this morning! :-)

Merrily Content

I've got lots to do today.
I hope the sun shines down on me.
But if, instead, the rain comes down,
I'll still be singing merrily.

Whatever happens I'm content.
I know how worse my life could be,
than watching hummingbirds and robins
flit around my backyard tree.

The news of shootings and disasters,
on my mind can't make a dent;
Because I'll focus on my backyard,
and I'll be smiling and content.

P.S. I just got a notice from Heather about the Giveaway earrings she received. Wanna see?!... Click HERE!!  :-)) So nice! Thanks Heather!!!

We're Between 'Pings' Right Now

      I don't know if I've mentioned it to you, but hubby has been on vacation from work for a little while now.  We didn't have anything particular planned to do, or anywhere particular planned to go. Nothing gave us that 'Ping!' that says: "Ooooo! You should....!"...So, we've just been taking it easy, enjoying the time together.
       Mostly we've just been...
        ...laying around...Listening to music...taking naps!... :-)
        ...and doing some occasional laughing!! ^_^ (You'd have to be here!) It's been the 'Perfect' vacation!
      Frankly, we've been so NOT 'Pinged' to do anything, that we almost forgot about Friday 'Date Night' this week!! O_0 I mean...why do you need a 'Date Night' when the whole week has been one big date?!! ^_^
     Part of this week hubby has spent trying to salvage whatever plants the storm left in his garden. And guess what? He's got 3 least...that are hanging on and fighting for dear life!!! :-) And they're starting to bloom too!!...He snuck out REALLY early in the morning to get these photos of them. {I think he thought they might try to get away if he waited until the sun rose! LOL}
        The vacation might have been worth it just to have him with a smile back on his face!...Be thankful I didn't show you that sad dejected puss after the storm the other day!! It wasn't pretty! ^_^
      There also was a little Library visit this week...
          Me and Miss Jane Austen are getting along swimmingly!!! ^_^ (Who knew the written version of 'Pride and Prejudice' would be as good as the movie?!!)
         (Elisa Writes)
         We've also been eating pretty good this week! In fact my friend made us a delicious vegetable salad yesterday, straight from her garden!! :-) It was so good!!...Hmmmm...will tomatoes and cucumbers, lettuce and other eatable things, start showing up in hubby's garden next year?!...To Be Continued!! LOL
       So, this Friday 'Date Night' we're giving the luggage a break....
          We won't be out on the Interstate Highway going anywhere...
         ...We won't be on planes, trains, in automobiles, on buses or in streetcars...
           We're just gonna be having a 'Staycation' right here at home. :-)
          ...Unless, of course, we get a 'Ping!' to do something or go somewhere else!! ^_^
        I don't suspect that's gonna happen this week though...I'm between 'Pings' on a few things...Hubby found these......I don't even know what to call them!....the other day when he was reorganizing my Office/Storage room...
        There was a whole bag of them!!...I vaguely remember my friend giving them to me last year some time. I think she had gotten them from someone who had bought them to do projects out of, but she never got around to them.
            They're very pretty! And somebody went to a lot of trouble making them...My friend thought I'd be able to maybe crochet some backs for them, or something, and make some pretty brooches out of them!....But I never got 'Pinged!' to do it.
          ...In fact, I forgot completely that I had them!! O_0 So 'Come On Inspiration!! PING Me!!!!' ^_^
       While I'm waiting for that to happen, hubby and I will be in the backyard, looking at the stars. :-)
          Ring me.....or 'Ping!' me....if you need something! ^_^ Otherwise, have a good weekend everybody!!!

Do you find that you have lulls?
Times when life just has no 'Pings!'
Times when all that you've been planning
has been done! ... and nothing 'sings!'

You don't know what you should do.
Taking naps seem so sublime!
Knowing, when you look around,
that No! You haven't wasted time!

Lots of things have all been done.
But there's so many things you could do.
But nothing 'Pings': "Let's do this next!!"
The lull just gets the best of you.

Right now I'll try to ride the wave.
No expectation. Just relax.
Keep flipping books for inspiration.
Enjoying colors, brights and blacks.

Soon I know I'll be off again,
deeply engrossed in some new thing.
I'll get such satisfaction from it.
And that familiar little...'Ping!'

What Does A Wug Living In Holyoke Do........?!

       I suppose I should finish that question...'What does a Wug living in Holyoke do...the day after a bad storm, when the sun has come out and it is just absolutely beautiful?!!!' :-) ......The answer is.....Read! :-)
     And thanks to the Holyoke Public Library I have a great book to read too!...Pride and Prejudice by Miss Jane Austen. :-) Yes....I'm actually reading a book by Jane Austen, instead of looking at a movie 'based on a book' by Jane Austen!! ^_^
      And guess what?!...I'm loving it!!! I'm already waaaay into it!
        In fact, the photo shows Chapter 15, but I'm actually further along than this now, due to some late night reading. Late night reading I was doing because of something else a 'Wug' was doing in Holyoke the day after the storm....'daytime' sleeping!! I slept a lot yesterday too!!...I was napping and turning...Turning, and then napping...all day!! (I think my body is trying to fight off a cold or something.)
       The good thing about the late night reading though, is that it was keeping my hubby company while he was reorganizing and labeling the Office/Storage room!...No, he couldn't sleep anymore either! LOL
       I complained a little while ago that I still couldn't get to everything in this room....and that even if I got to it, I didn't know what was in some of these bins! So.....
     ...he fixed the problem.....while at the same time listening, and occasionally giggling along with me, at the silliness of Mrs. Bennet and her husband and daughters! :-)
       Now, what 'else' does a 'Wug' living in Holyoke do the day after a storm?!...She checks the news to see if there was any real damage after the storm. And unfortunately, she finds out...thanks to the crack reporting of 22News...that there was. :-(
         The middle of the Old Holyoke Mill was blown away in the strong winds!!! :-(
      The photo below is what it looked liked inside...
       They're saying that now the remnants of the building are gonna be torn down. :-( You can look at the video below to see the rest of the story.

        I guess my hubby's sunflowers weren't the only casualty in the storm the other night! :-(
      'I'm not gonna think about it....I'm not gonna think about it!' O_0 Strange....I sound like Scarlett in Gone With The Wind! ... Why am I thinking about 'Gone With The Wind'?!!!! ^_^ Hubby's flowers and the Old Holyoke Mill building are both gone with the wind?!  Could that be why?!!!!.......My brain! My brain!!!! ^_^
      Anyway!!!!!!!...I was also doing something else with my time yesterday...Yep! Crocheting!! :-)
        The latest black and white scarf/shawl is well under way!....My Jane Austen book is well under way!...My hubby's vacation is well under way! Not all good, but still...there are a lot of things going on in Holyoke the day after the storm. :-)
       By the way, hubby uncovered something of mine while he was moving things around. Something I had totally forgotten about. It will involve a new project for the 'Wug'!! :-)) I'll be adding it to my list of things to do in Holyoke...after some scarves and a Jane Austen book are all finished.
        I'll show you what he found tomorrow. :-] Right now, if my brain slows down enough, I'm off to......Well, you know!!! ^_^

My Brain, My Brain

My brain just does
what it wants and when it wants!
Some days, all of it's positives
is what it flips and flaunts.

It triggers really fast,
and all my brain cells start to meet.
It stores all kinds of things,
and it runs long, without feet!

It fires happiness,
is organized, remembers well.
But then that "Bing!" will come
as if someone just hit a bell.

It slows and starts to ponder.
And what it ponders is not good!
Those days it might as well
be just a solid block of wood.

Can't remember what to do,
or if it already did;
Thoughts are scattered everywhere
and all my memories are hid.

Yes, my brain just does
what it wants and how it wants!
My job is staying with it,
and responding when it taunts.
