He's Back Out There Again! :-)

Yep! Hubby is back in the backyard! I knew the dead mouse, fox and swarming bees wouldn't deter him for long! LOL If you're wondering what I'm talking about, you can check out this earlier post --> HERE. :-))
And he's armed with more than just his garden gloves, a spade and a bee net too! :-)) ... Okay, so he doesn't have a bee net. But he does have a camera! :-) I thought I'd show you a few of the pictures he took...

This is his 'lone' sunflower now... :-( ...thanks to the sunflower thief that stole the other one right out of the ground!!!! Grrrr!

It's very cute and all, but I have to say...it's not as cute as those other purple sunflowers he grew a year or so ago. Do you remember those 'babies'?!...No?!...Well, thankfully I still have pictures of them!...

      Do you remember now?!

Not only does he not have any more like this one in the yard, but he also can't find the seeds for them anywhere!...and he didn't save the seeds from them when they grew in the yard. :-( Oh well...*deep sigh*...at least I have pictures!
       Speaking of pictures....I kinda got side-tracked, didn't I?! LOL...

He took this picture yesterday too...Unfortunately these aren't growing in our backyard either! ^_^ He stole a picture of the neighbor's flowers...Between you and I, I think he's watching the neighbor's flowers, waiting to see if another 'lone' sunflower shows up! ^_^ I think it's a lost cause though. I mean how many yellow sunflowers are there around here?!....Tons!! If it had been the purple sunflower.......! Okay, okay!....Moving on! LOL

This (above) "is" in our backyard!...and so is this....

He took this photo looking down into the opening of this flower! Isn't that fascinating?!....Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of flower this is...or what it looks like from afar. Those photos didn't materialize. LOL...But hey! You can't have everything! ^_^ ...He's gonna try to get some better photos today. If he does, I'll share them with you...along with the picture of the masked sunflower thief, planting a 'lone' sunflower in his thievin' yard! ^_^
Don't hold your breath on that one...Even if he did find the culprit, I'm sure they'd have a tale as winding as the 'lone' bullet in the Kennedy assassination! LOL Some issues need to be passed by and leaped over!! LOL

And the saga of the sunflower thief is one of them! ^_^

Somehow I think the sunflower thief wouldn't be able to enjoy that sunflower as much as hubby did anyway. A conscience is a terrible thing to tamper with! LOL
Instead of sunflowers and heatwaves, sleeplessness (I ran out of M&Ms! LOL), and clogginess, I'm gonna talk about my backyard-strolling, camera-toting man! ^_^

Our 30th wedding anniversary is almost upon us! I'm finding myself looking at him with new eyes the last few days. I guess it's all of the mental energy of trying to figure out what we're gonna do to celebrate, and talking about our life over the last 35 or so years.
To all of the newly married couples out there...don't be so quick to throw in the towel. I almost did about 29 years ago...Yep! During our first year of marriage! We had been together a little while by then, but less than a year married. I think I over-expected what marriage was gonna be.
I was just about ready to leave him and go running back home to my daddy when....Jehovah's Witnesses showed up at my door! :-) No kidding!...My study of the Bible reminded me that God has forgiven a whole lot more than I would ever have to! And if he could be patient with us 'no account' humans...I could be patient with a 'didn't know what he was doing' husband! LOL
I'm so glad I stayed!!! :-) It was an investment of time and love that's paid off BIG TIME over the years!!!!....Too much information?!....What do you expect from an old poet girl heading into her 30th year of marriage?! ^_^ I'm saving all the sap for YOU now!!...Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Today Is The Day To Talk About A 'Titanic' Love!!

      (Meg1862)
Jack and Rose, characters from the movie 'Titanic', had a great love that spanned years of time. They went through struggles and family disapproval. But even a massive shipwreck could not erase the love they had for each other.
Oh Yes....it's a sad movie, in parts. But it's based on a true event in history...the 1912 sinking of the Titanic luxury liner. It wasn't a happy event!...But the way it was told in this movie, with the tragedy and sadness and all, 'was' in the way of a great love story!!!
     (MediaWerks)
Are you asking yourself: "Why is she talking about this today?!!"....Well, I'll tell you in a minute. ^_^ But first, I wanna share some of the Etsy items I found based on the Titanic. And based on the love of Jack and Rose!
You can get a notebook with the movie poster scene on the front of it...
      (NoteFlix)
A giclee print of an original oil painting, fully authenticated and signed...
     (richardbarron)
A painting inspired by someone whose grandfather's family were all due to immigrate to America and sail on Titanic...
    (PaintingPort)
         A Vintage Ikat Pillow Cover...
      (MODERNVINTAGEMARKET)
      Some Titanic Cufflinks...
Or a necklace made from movie film!
       (MovieFilmBows)
All of these things will remind you of Jack and Rose's great love...And that's what I think of when I think of the movie 'Titanic'...how their love just went on and on. Just like me and my hubby's.
Yep! Today is my Wedding anniversary!!! :-) Hubby and I have been married for 29 years today!!!!! :-)
We've come a long way from these starry-eyed, syrup and biscuit eating, 'Don't-know-what-they're getting-themselves-into' people below!! LOL
I can hardly believe that the people we are now.....used to be these people!!......
       But I'm afraid it's true!!!! ^_^
So,...to my 'Jack', my 'Rhett', my 'Mr. Darcy'.........Happy Anniversary my love! :-) We're old people now......but ours is still an on-going great love!! :-] And as long as it doesn't end the way Jack and Rose's ended.....we're good!!!! ^_^
Somebody should be playing some music right now!!!!! ^_^

{Okay....the poem is a sappy one. If you don't wanna throw up....turn your head!! This one is for my 'baby' of 29 years today!! :-) I love you honey-Boo!!}

Friday Date Night

This photo reminds me of one of the many excursions hubby and I have taken over the years on our date nights. Sometimes it was all about where we were going...But most of the time it was just about who we were with...each other.
Before I tell you about last night's date night, I'd like to share a few of the date night's we've had in the past...And don't expect ♫  la la ♫ trips or anything. We are NOT those people! Those people's last names are Rockefellow or Trump! :-) ... Hubby and I, on our date night, just want to be alone somewhere, somewhere with good food and good music usually!
We've gone to late, late night movies where we were the only ones in the movie theater. We would move around from seat to seat throughout the movie...just because we could...and because it was FUN! We've traveled out of state to go to restaurants where nobody knew us, so that we could hold hands and table dance without some of our friends popping in and giving us that "what are you old people doing acting like kids?" look!...The food at those times was a major focal point. Jamaican, Spanish, Italian, American, Chinese, Greek. The way we look at it, we've eaten our way through a few countries! LOL...We've also gone on 'nowhere' long drives in the car where we found delicious fresh fruit stands, cows, horses, helicopters, the ocean, the beach, and retro shopping places.
Lately, because of my health we have even done "Virtual" trips! We declare one room in the house some exotic place and we pretend that that's where we are. Thanks to our "Virtual Travel Agent" we've taken some great trips of late, to Mexico and Hawaii. :-)
But usually, our date night trips aren't "trips" at all! We stay at home, take the phones off the hook,...or turn them off nowadays...and just do something together. We play oldies music and dance, play Scrabble or Uno (by the way, he does the best "Loser Dance" ever! LOL), watch a movie on 'On Demand' that we've been wanting to see but didn't have the time, or simply take a nap. Once you declare that your date will consist of a good long nap....it's on!!! Trust me, after a long busy week, SLEEP is the best date night ever!!!
Last night we had a really good date night. Thankfully we already knew we weren't going out, because the weather outside was atrocious! I took some pictures so you could see...It started out with a steady rain...
But before long there was thunder booms, lightening, and wind!
This was the view we had from the window. We were sooooo glad to be inside with Pat and Vanna...
...and some wonderful 'Take-Out' food from our favorite Chinese restaurant!
Eating like this every day would kill us....and there would be no more date nights! But once a week....Yum! Yum!
Hubby went to wash the dinner dishes after we ate and let me go on Twitter and tweet for a minute. While I was there someone tweeted a Frank Sinatra song called "I won't Dance". Hubby came in and we had the sweetest dance, giggling the whole time. After 32 years together he's still the one person in the world I love spending time with...doing...whatever!
The rain kept pounding away for a while...
   But then the skies cleared...
And as the light outside was disappearing, a reddish hue came over everything. And then the sky looked like this...
We just laid in the bed, full and ready for a "nap", and looked at it for a while. It was a GREAT date night!
