Thanks to WWLP 22News I was able to see exactly what weather we were getting, where it was coming from, and how long it would be before it got here!...Wait! Did I say 'THANKS' for that?!! O_0 I'm not sure if I really should be thankful for it because it was kinda stressful watching it!!
Seeing all of that red and yellow wasn't bad enough!...Then there were all those 'Watch' and 'Warning' messages, hearing the big thunder claps, seeing all of the pouring rain and pings of hail hitting the window. Not to mention the wind whipping my hummingbird feeder around on the tree branch!..YIKES! Shoulda took that down!!! O_0
I had to find something to do with my poor anxious 'wanna-take-a-Rip Van Winkle' napping self!!!! Something besides sitting and thinking about how this very same kind of weather was what recently produced the tornadoes that hit our area recently!!!
So, let's see.....What to do?!!...You guessed it! ^_^ CROCHET!!! Me and my black and white shawl...yes, now it is officially a shawl!...we have become intimate acquaintances now! It was great to cuddle with when the thunder boomers hit! :-)
It's so soft!!!
Now I just have to figure out how long I actually want to make it! Any suggestions?! When you wear a 'wrap-around' type shawl...assuming you do...how long do you like for it to be?! Do you like it to pass the 'over-your-booty' test? Or do you like it to be just at the waist and more about shoulder coverage?! I'd appreciate your input on this one. I can't think about myself, because all shawls in the world would have to pass the 'over-your-booty' test for me! LOL That is...if I cared about such things!! ^_^
Anyway!...I also did some other things while we were having the 'Scary-Weather' day. I had a little tea break...(Photo courtesy of Christopher Boffoli)
....I ate a little food...Okay, a lotta food! *Teehee* And I even watched a movie 'ABOUT' food called "Julie & Julia"!!! {It was less fattening for sure! :-)} And it had music! Always a good distraction. :-]
So, that's what I did...What do you do on 'Scary Weather' days?! {And by the way, don't forget to enter my hat Giveaway! Only 5 more days!}
Describe The Sky
Evoking awe and bouts of wonder.
Such inspiration, you just want to cry.
With birds high-flying, and winds a blowing,
what words would you use to describe the sky?
Would you say, whether clouds are upon it,
that it blankets a wondrous space?
Or would you be more awed and humbled,
hoping there you would find God's face?
I would say that when standing quiet,
looking up at the sun or moon,
there's a feeling of peaceful oneness
that I hope won't go away too soon.
Evoking bouts of awe and wonder
was probably what it was designed to do;
That is, besides giving off light and weather,
and the most spectacular view!
