Just A Little Peek At My New Wedding Crochet Brooch Set!

I just have to apologize right off the bat this morning to any of you who are just sick to death of hearing me talk about my new crochet boutonniere and brooch set....Sorry. :-) But here we go again!!
I'm almost completely done with it, and I needed to do this post as a reference for anybody that wants to look at the whole package in my shop on Etsy. Etsy only gives you five slots for photos, and this big ole 'baby' needs to be seen in more than five photos! ^_^
First, let me show you the bride's brooch (on the right below) again...sitting alongside the flower girl brooch! (on the left below) :-) ...

The bridal brooch has an extra layer of petals around the outside, and is a little larger. But I figured that whatever little girl the bride chose as her flower girl, she would want them to look as special as her that day. :-)

And I also figured that the bride would want her bridesmaids to look beautiful, and feel special, too! Not to mention be unified, while they're by her side that day! :-) .... So I made these three bridesmaid brooches (below) for them! :-) ...

Now, men...generally speaking...don't like huge flowers on their lapel! So I grappled with how to make the groom look special, and stand out, without sticking a huge flower on him. :-)) I asked my hubby for suggestions and he said: "Make his white, but put some blue or silver in the middle.....Nah!...Not silver. Put BLUE in the middle!" So that's what I did...but in 'turquoise', not plain blue!! (groom's boutonniere on the left below) ^_^ ...

The tiny lapel pin on the right (above) is a ring bearer lapel pin. :-) ... Hey! Little boys have to look kinda special too, don't they?! ^_^

Speaking of boys...I also made three groomsmen boutonnieres (below)...

Hubby suggested that the groomsmen boutonnieres should be the opposite color design from the groom (turquoise, with white centers). {Of course, when people order them 'MADE TO ORDER' they can choose whatever colors they want!!! :-)

      That's the package! ^_^

1 Bride's 3-layer Brooch
1 Flower Girl Brooch
3 Bridesmaid 3-layer Brooches
1 Groom's Boutonniere
1 Ring Bearer's Lapel Pin
3 Groomsmen Boutonnieres
(Plus 2 FREE Mother's Brooches...for the mothers of the bride and groom)

All of the brooches, boutonnieres, and lapel pins can have either a brooch pin, a button, a foldable pin fastener, or a button clutch pin on the back, to wear them...depending on the customer's preference...

I've made a few with the new clutch pins on the back. Hubby really likes them!!...

By the way, I'm also gonna be adding an extra couple of brooches to the package as free gifts! ^_^ Two loopier, slightly larger brooches...for the mother of the bride, and the mother of the groom! :-) ...

The above brooch is one of the mother's brooches that I started last night. It's sorta like the groom's brooch...but bigger...and loopier! ^_^ ... The mother of the bride's brooch will look sorta like it, but with a silver center. :-) I may add them to this post later.

As of right now, the whole package will be about $110, plus shipping. I think a wedding is worth that, don't you?! ^_^ ... By the way, if you want to make the wedding package your own way...customize it!...here are the prices:

-- 3-layer Brooches = $11.00 each (add $1.00 for specialty threads, like the silver shown above)
-- Regular size Brooches and Boutonnieres = $10.50 each
-- tiny Lapel Pins = $9.50 each
-- Mother's Loop-Style Brooches $11.50
-- Bridal Necklaces = Add $1.00 to the price of any brooch (All of the brooches and pins can be converted and made with a leather cord, or a gun metal ball chain and bar necklace.)

Just give me your order by going over to my Wuglyees Etsy shop and leaving me a message in the "Contact the shop owner" section. Each package will be MADE TO ORDER within 2-4 weeks! (Sometimes shorter, depending on how busy I am at the time.)

     So there's my 'PEEK'! :-) ...

Now I'm off to get that mother's brooch finished! :-) Have a good day, Everybody!!

Is Somebody Getting Married Today?!...Hmmm... :-]

It's a little after 4:00a.m. here in Holyoke and I'm up with the T.V. on waiting to see William and Kate's wedding. BUT WHO ISN'T?!!! LOL I'm not all about the pomp and circumstance, or about the politics of it all (I'm neutral on all politics, except spiritual Kingship! I definitely have a side on that! :-)), or even about all the details that we've been hearing E-N-D-L-E-S-S-L-Y!!
I'm a sucker for a love story, and a sucker for a wedding!! :-) There...I said it!! I've been married almost 29 years myself, and I love to see people in love! And I love to see them brave enough to declare that love in front of everybody they know! :-)
    So, in honor of all those getting ready to get married ,and for those thinking about how they're going to look when they say "I Do", I'm sharing wedding dresses! {To see extra views of the dresses, prices, and descriptions, just click on the photos and go to the shop where you can find them}
Okay, so who are we kidding today?! I know whose wedding you really care about! ^_^ And as soon as the flower girl makes her appearance...
...and Prince William and Harry come in and take their places, we'll finally see the wedding of William and his Kate....or Katherine. :-)
I Love A Love Story!!! And I love a wedding!!! So, I'm off to keep my eyes on all of the festivities!! Have a good day everybody!!

"Look, I's Married Now!"

Any of you that ever saw the movie "The Color Purple" will probably recognize the quote in my post title today. A variation of that phrase sent everybody howling in laughter at a wedding yesterday.
Do you remember me telling you all about Bri's mom? Well, yesterday she finally did it! And it was a beautiful day for a wedding too! The sun was out, about 90 degrees (but not humid and sticky), a light breeze, not too many people, only her daughter, my baby girl , as a bride's maid, and the person that was marrying her was a long time friend who knew her life story.
He knew that she had never been married before, even though she was now in her 40's and has a married daughter of her own. He knew what a struggle she had gone through with her baby's father shortly after the baby was born. A struggle that led to a break-up for good, and a tug and pull over custody and control of her for years. A struggle she won! He knew of her childhood abuse and how, now that she was alone with her baby, that's the way she wanted it to stay! He also knew how important it had become for her to train her daughter with a spiritual bent, something that would give her a better foundation than she had had growing up with her own mother...And he also knew how lonely she had been. How she always wanted a husband to help her share the load of responsibilities, but how scared she was to let anyone get that close to her.
But just like beauty can grow after a storm (these are the flowers that are growing around my backyard. Aren't they gorgeous! The rain made everything pop out all over with color!), the beauty of their relationship came after the storm of her life. They are as happy as two bugs in a rug! She trusts him explicitly...I never thought I'd see the day that would happen!!! Her..REALLY trust....a MAN?! :-) And you can see in his eyes that he loves her very much.
Everybody at the wedding was smiling! And when her friend pronounced them 'husband and wife' and he kissed her, she turned around to the audience and said: "We's married now!" in a Southern accent. Everybody broke up laughing!!!
Laughter...and tears...happened yesterday. Tears from all of her friends who are breathing in and out for her today. Tears from her own young married daughter, realizing that her mom can now experience the joy she has been experiencing recently with her husband and baby. And tears from my hubby and I. But no tears of sadness. We are SOOOO happy for her...and the tears are tears of happiness.
   She's not alone anymore.
