All Wrapped Up!...And On 'The Good Ship...'!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/174132005/vintage-black-and-bold-pendleton-blanket?ref=favs_view_1

Hello!...Sorry, but I'm all wrapped up today! ^_^ I have a lot going on today, and a really BIG and BAD snow storm heading our way for tomorrow. Ugh! So, please forgive the short post today. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow...No promises! ^_^
Here's some music to keep you company though. I found it when I heard that Shirley Temple (Black) died. :-( Please enjoy...and I'll catch up with you on the flip side. LOL

Have a 'Good Ship Lollipop' kind of day! :-]

Where would we be without music?

Where would we be without music?
Don't answer. I don't want to know!
The thought of no guitar or back beat,
no humming or tapping of toe!

What oomph would there be to commercials?
What excitement for games yet to play?!
What missing movie's anticipation
that the  'Dun Dun Dun' would happily say?!

How would new mommies rock their babies,
and calm them to put them to sleep?
Without music the world would be screaming,
but the ocean of silence would be deep.

So, where would we be without music?
In a world with no brain cells to link.
In a big room with nothing to do,
and a bunch of poor folks that don't blink!

This Time 'Virtual' Date Night Is A Long Weekend!

I was gonna try to play coy about where hubby and I were going for our 'virtual' date night, but my mind is so in football gear that you'd probably be able to figure it out anyway! ^_^ We're heading south...to 'The Big Easy'!...New Orleans, Louisiana!! :-)

We're heading that way for a long weekend...ending on Sunday with the Super Bowl football game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers!! :-) ... Yes, I know. Neither one of these teams is from New Orleans. :-)) ...New Orleans' team, the New Orleans Saints didn't make it to the big game this year. New Orleans is just playing host this year.
Okay, let's face it...I don't know why they chose New Orleans for the Super Bowl...except that those New Orleans people know how to throw a big party!! And the Super Bowl is a BIG party!! ^_^
New Orleans knows good music when it sees it. And it knows good food too!!...

YUM! :-) ... And speaking of yum, hubby started our date out right this morning with a 'smash-up' breakfast in bed!...*That's part of the reason I'm so late posting this morning!* :-) He made me steak with gravy, fresh string beans and a mashed potato for breakfast!! ^_^ It was sooooooo good!!...I think things bode well for lunch, and then for dinner in New Orleans! ;-) ... One thing's for sure...I'm gonna need at least one more nap before the day is over!!...

Before I take off to get my day started though, let me share the treasury I found my red boutonniere in...

It's entitled 'NATTY or nice? Some men can be both!'...

According to Richard, the treasury's curator, 'natty' is defined as  "trimly neat and tidy: smart, as in  'natty clothes' or a 'natty' dresser"...I find it kinda cool that my men's boutonniere is considered to fit the category of 'natty'. :-]
Now I guess I have to start thinking about getting my hubby a pair of these 'natty' Vintage 1950's 60's Men's Wayfarer Style Mario Deluxe Brand Eyeglasses!! :-) ...

They're from ifoundgallery... Yeah, I think my honey could pull these off....kinda. :-)) ... Hey! If he can pull off long johns under corduroys, along with a puffy winter coat, he can pull off a pair of cool sunglasses!...just saying! ^_^

     Okay, I'm off!...Have a good Friday, and a great weekend, Everybody!! :-)

What?!.........WHAT????

Yesterday was the weirdest day!! O_O I felt...all day!...like maybe I needed to find me a new planet to live on because this one had slipped sideways or something!...Does that happen to other people besides me?!....that feeling like everything...and everybody...has gone wacky?!!!
The phone kept ringing off the hook all day...waking me up from my naps! Grrrrr! You KNOW how much I treasure my naps!! ^_^ And when I answered it, the conversations seemed like darts being thrown at a dartboard that was invisible!! Everything I said was misunderstood, and everything they said made NO SENSE to me!! I kept saying: "Excuse me?"....."Say again!"....."What?!!!!!" O_0
I finally gave up trying to carry on conversations with people. I stopped answering the phone!...But that didn't stop people from calling!! LOL They still called....and they left messages!....that were garbled and non-discipherable!... O_O ...except for the part where they would said: "Call me back". ^_^ "Uhhhhh...No! I don't think I will...whoever you are!....and whatever you're talking about!"
Then hubby came running in the house hollering for the camera! I said: "What is it?!" O_O ......No answer.....UGH!!!...Then he came back in the house with un-decipherable photos!!....UGH!...Again I said: "What is it?!"....He did that shake with his whole body like when you get a cold shiver, and then he said: "Let me go and take another picture. I forgot to put the macro on....But I'M NOT GETTING THAT CLOSE TO IT ANYWAY!!!!! EWWWWWWWWW!!!!"
Now I was scared, and worried about what was in the backyard that he'd be all squeamish about! O_O ... Wanna see what it was?!

Yikes!!!!....It was right up next to the house!!!! O_O

           Big head thing!!!!!!

Where did this come from?!!! O_O We've never had snakes in the backyard before...that I remember anyway!...We've had cats, squirrels, turtles, robins, mockingbirds, hummingbirds,....;'_'; my hummingbirds!!!!!! ;'_'; ...dogs, skunks, and even a rabbit here or there! I even had a fear that a black bear might visit...but it didn't...But never a snake!
I know Massachusetts has snakes...even poisonous snakes...Yikes! Could this be a poisonous snake?!....If any of you know what kind of snake this is, please let me know. I don't even wanna Google it!!!
As of last night he was still laying there immovable. Hubby thinks he was dead, but I know...from experience...that snakes are cold-blooded. If the temperature changes on them too suddenly they become immovable until their blood warms up again...And we did have that quick snow shower yesterday! O_O
I'm trying to talk hubby into going back out there this morning to see if he's still there, but he is TOO THROUGH with that snake!!! ^_^ The mere suggestion that he get a stick and move him up closer to the woods started another one of those garbled conversations everybody was trying to have with me yesterday!!!...So, I guess I'll find out later whether he's still there or not...Probably when I hear the neighbor kids cutting through the yard! ^_^ Yikes! The kids!!!!....Suppose it's poisonous?!!!....Alright! He's got to move that snake!!!!......Aargh!
If that wasn't bad enough.....there I was watching a movie, trying to return to a calm mental state, when a scroll came across the t.v.......Whitney Houston......dead at 48........What?!.........What?! O_O

I went to CNN and found out.....it's true! Whitney Houston died last night....*sigh*...All I could think of was that line in the song "American Pie" by Don McLean,.....that convoluted  song I never really understood completely before...and still don't!!....but the line that talked about 'the day the music died' came to my mind...She was a fantastic voice, that Whitney Houston!
So, I'll leave today's post with her voice....and a hope that today turns out to be a non-weird, calm and peaceful place!...Have a good day everybody. I hope it includes some good music too.....Where would we be without it?!...

With No Music...What Did I Do Yesterday?!

Nope! No music yesterday. Well...actually there's been no music for a few days now. And not because I don't want to listen to it either!...*sigh*...My speakers on my computer are 'heading for the hills'. :-( When I try to go to Youtube to listen to music...or hear any other video sounds...all I get is a funky vibrating going on in the middle of my songs...if I can hear the song at all!
My 'techie' girlfriend is on the case though. She ordered me some new speakers and as soon as they get in she'll install my 'sound machine' back in, and I'll be ♫ 'back in the high life again' ♫! ^_^
The truth is...I wouldn't have listened to much music yesterday anyway. I had a lot of studying, reading, and tennis watching to do!...not to mention a nap or two! I'm trying to get all of my 'ducks in a row' so that I can indulge in this last week of the Australian Open without guilty feelings. Guilt that I'm not taking care of my priorities and responsibilities in a timely and respectful manner....Well.....DONE! :-)
The only other things I need to make sure about are that the cleaning lady can get in to clean the house tomorrow....*I might be too distracted to make sure the door gets opened! LOL*...and that I have a crochet project on my needle...for the time in between watching the tennis matches...*crocheting is my commercial. ^_^*
But, believe it or not, I did have some extra time yesterday...It seemed like the tennis players wanted to get those matches OVER quick, with that high heat they were playing in!...So, what did I do with my 'extra' time?!...I made a treasury!
It's entitled 'Beauty In Beige And Black!'...The header photo was one of the photos I chose. I saw it when I was searching for a picture to share with you to tell you the story about my lack of music yesterday. But as I was looking through the search on Etsy, I started seeing all of these beautiful beige and black items....and a new treasury was born. :-)
You can follow the link over to the actual treasury by clicking the treasury photo or clicking the name of the treasury. But I'd like to share a few of my favorites right here...

Some really cool items, huh?!...It was fun searching around and finding such nice things for my color scheme. Now if only I had enough money to be able to afford to buy them all! LOL...But No! All of my money has gone to the tax man. Over $700! And it hurt too!!...But hopefully we'll get it back when we file our taxes later this month...*sigh*
For all of you tennis watchers like me, I'm typing and watching Nadal and Berdych go at it! They both have a set a piece and it's 2 to 2 in the third set. It's gonna be a good one!....down to the very end!!!...Although Berdych is already stretching his legs and stuff. Nadal is running him ragged!! ^_^ So FUN!!!!!!
Later today I've got to do some practicing on my embroidery stitches...
I've done a little bit, but it's nerve-racking and frustrating! I need quiet to really get good at it....and since I haven't had quiet...because of my tennis ^_^ ...I've been putting the practicing off. But LIVE tennis will be over in a couple of hours, and my nap after that will only last for a short time ^_^. And since I can't listen to music, and all of my studying is done, I'll have all the quiet I need!!!...So, here I come embroidery!! :-)
Have a good day everybody!...And don't forget to enter the Giveaway...Click the fuzzy keychain picture on the right hand side bar for details. Seeing someone take my 'fuzzy baby' home would be music to my ears. :-)
