......But That's Not All!

          It's Friday!!!! :-) And yes we did!.......make it through another week with all of our fingers and toes intact, all of our breathing apparatuses still working, and with some food still left in the refrigerator! Ha! Ha!...That was a reference to my 'out-of-control' hunger cravings yesterday. ^_^ My food consumption yesterday included breakfast sausage, grits, cheesy eggs, toast and strawberry jelly, coffee, fried chicken wings, leftover noodles and vegetables (made by a dear friend...YUM!), popcorn, and...and I ain't shame!...cake and ice cream! O_O ... Okay....maybe I'm a little bit ashamed...*hanging my head*
     Yikes!...It didn't seem like that much when I was eating it, but when you list it on paper, it sure looks bad!!...NOTE TO SELF: Never list your day's food consumption ever, ever again! LOL...Moving on...in a hurry!!...*burp!*

        I'm thankful for two things: I'm thankful that, as long as you're still breathing the next day, you can always do it better...or eat better...the next day. (That would be today, for me!)...And I'm thankful that I know how to do a lot of other things besides eat!! ^_^
       I know how to write poems...even though I haven't been writing many new ones lately...I know how to sing...even though my husband probably wish I didn't after yesterday! I was singing that 'Stuttering' song ALL...DAY!!!! O_O ....I'm not kidding...when my hormones go haywire, it's like I'm some kind of 'brain-glitched' fool! ^_^ Food, nor music, is safe!! {By the way, can you believe that they almost kicked Jessica Sanchez off of American Idol last night?!....Had me stu-stu-stuttering! LOL}
     But I also...on automatic...know how to crochet! :-) And that's what I've been doing for days, in between everything else...to keep my fingers, and my brain, limber! ^_^ The green boutonniere/brooch/necklace pendant/comb brooch/whatever you want it to be!...was one of the ones I just recently finished...

          In my pictures they look big, but, in reality, they're less than two inches (5.1 cm)!...

        I put little buttons on the front, to look at...

         ...and buttons on the back, to use for buttoning them onto stuff...

        Yep! A pretty little apple green 'baby'. :-) But....and here's where the blog post title comes in...that's not all!...As I said, I've been making these little 'babies' every time I sat still!...and putting them in an air-tight bag...

         I emptied the bag yesterday to see how many I had......

      WOW! O_O

            And every one of them has 'button-on' ability!...

       And, believe it or not, there's still some crochet floss..and food! (just saying!)...left in the world! ^_^ ... I know because I made another one since I photographed these! LOL
      Is it wrong that I wanna make them, but I don't wanna list them in the Wuglyees shop?! O_O Well...that's not exactly true. I 'wanna'...I just don't 'WANNA'!! ^_^
    Today it's bread and water for me!....Okay...there's gonna be no bread. NONE! I'm carbo-ed out!!! But I am keeping it lighter....in the interest of balance...If my hormones let me, I mean. O_O They can be pretty insistent when  they wanna be...and they WANNA!! ^_^

 My Brain, My Brain

My brain, my brain just does
what it wants and when it wants!
Some days, all of the positives
is what it flips and flaunts.

It triggers really fast,
and all my brain cells start to meet.
It stores all kinds of things,
and it just runs long, without feet!

It fires happiness,
is organized, remembers well.
But then that "Bing!" will come
as if someone just hit a bell.

It slows and starts to ponder.
And what it ponders isn't good!
Those days it might as well
be just a solid block of wood.

Can't remember what to do,
or worse, what it already did;
Thoughts are scattered everywhere
and all my memories are hid.

Yes, my brain, my brain just does
what it wants and how it wants!
My job is staying with it,
and responding when it taunts.

'Home Is Where The Sun Is?!'

      I borrowed one of the photos from Hollie's 'weekend weather' post (and baby makes three blog) to show you why I've had my head down and crocheting like a crazy woman the last couple of days.....RAIN!....UGH! And tonight it's gonna be rain....mixed with snow!...UGH! UGH!
      Oh Well...thanks to some good friends...rain is not the only thing I've got here now! I've got a new treasury to talk about! :-) ...

       Elizabeth, of the brand new Etsy shop 'Lilly Things', curated it! It's entitled 'Home is where the sun is?'...I love that there's a question mark at the end of the title... ^_^ ...especially since Elizabeth is from my area, and Massachusetts sun is questionable these days! ^_^
      She chose my black flip up button flower crochet hat to put in it...

        When you're looking for some homey sun, a hat is exactly what you need!! ^_^ Of course....that could just be 'my' thinking!
       
          ...But for sure you could use some gift or jar tags, right?!...

       I mean...with all of the extra time you're gonna have because of rain...or rain mixed with snow...UGH!...you can make some jam, or peach preserves, or candles,...or something...to give as gifts to people who are dry! ^_^

      But as I said, thanks to some good friends rain is not all I have here now. See! I got a really pretty thank you card!...

         

          ...with sunny flowers! :-) And it came in an unexpected package from Cindy, of CinLynnBoutique!...with a gift!!...

        

          A beautiful...BEAUTIFUL...pair of green flower earrings!!... :-)

          

          When they hit the light you can see that there are other colors dancing in them too!....Well...maybe you can't see that with my photography! LOL But it wasn't for want of trying!!!...

       So, big thanks to Elizabeth and Cindy for making my rainy days more sunny...and homey! :-)

      The other thing that has been making my rainy days bearable is...of course...crocheting! :-) I've been working my poor little aching fingers...literally...to the bones! I finished crocheting another soft blue scarf like this one...

        I made it just a tad wider though...6 inches instead of 5. I still have to photograph and list it in the shop. I'll do that as soon as the rain...and rain with mixed snow UGH!...stops taking over my photography studio....my backyard! :-)

      In the meantime, I sold my salmon circle scarf! :-) ...

       It was one of my smaller scarves. I'm on the hunt for this yarn again now. I wanna make a few more for the shop in this color...so pretty!

       But I also finished another scarf yesterday. An eight-color scarf!! :-) I didn't get to photograph the end part because the early Massachusetts darkness...UGH! Massachusetts rain, Massachusetts rain mixed with snow, and early Massachusetts darkness...UGH!!!!! ...stopped me from being able to! But this is what I did photograph....

         From end to end it's turquoise, soft blue,...

      ...a soft mint green,...

        ...and the colors you can't see that follow...a soft gold, chocolate brown, gray, white and black! :-) Hopefully I'll be able to get pictures so you can see it soon.

      Okay...that's it for the today! Now what will I do?...What will I do?! O_0 I finished all of my studying and chores for the week so that I could...without guilt...have today for a 'Girlfriend Day'...I was finally gonna watch the movie 'The Help'!!...

          ...but I had to cancel it :-( because I forgot that the lady that cleans for me was re-scheduled to come today. 

       She's been really busy with everyone wanting their houses cleaned for holiday traffic and everything, so I didn't want to give her a hard time about cleaning for me. I just re-scheduled my 'Girlfriend Day' to Friday!! :-) ..Now all I have to do is re-schedule my 'virtual' 'Date Night' trip to.......Oops! Almost let another 'cat out of the bag'! ^_^ 

    With the way my memory has been working...or NOT working...lately, I better stop flipping things around on my schedule. I'll be sitting here one day twiddling my thumbs and playing with my lips, trying to figure out what I was suppose to be doing!!! LOL But you'll give me a clue, right?!.....RIGHT?!!!! LOL

What Does A Wug Living In Holyoke Do........?!

       I suppose I should finish that question...'What does a Wug living in Holyoke do...the day after a bad storm, when the sun has come out and it is just absolutely beautiful?!!!' :-) ......The answer is.....Read! :-)

     And thanks to the Holyoke Public Library I have a great book to read too!...Pride and Prejudice by Miss Jane Austen. :-) Yes....I'm actually reading a book by Jane Austen, instead of looking at a movie 'based on a book' by Jane Austen!! ^_^
      And guess what?!...I'm loving it!!! I'm already waaaay into it!

        In fact, the photo shows Chapter 15, but I'm actually further along than this now, due to some late night reading. Late night reading I was doing because of something else a 'Wug' was doing in Holyoke the day after the storm....'daytime' sleeping!! I slept a lot yesterday too!!...I was napping and turning...Turning, and then napping...all day!! (I think my body is trying to fight off a cold or something.)
       The good thing about the late night reading though, is that it was keeping my hubby company while he was reorganizing and labeling the Office/Storage room!...No, he couldn't sleep anymore either! LOL

       I complained a little while ago that I still couldn't get to everything in this room....and that even if I got to it, I didn't know what was in some of these bins! So.....

     ...he fixed the problem.....while at the same time listening, and occasionally giggling along with me, at the silliness of Mrs. Bennet and her husband and daughters! :-)
       Now, what 'else' does a 'Wug' living in Holyoke do the day after a storm?!...She checks the news to see if there was any real damage after the storm. And unfortunately, she finds out...thanks to the crack reporting of WWLP.com 22News...that there was. :-(

         The middle of the Old Holyoke Mill was blown away in the strong winds!!! :-(

       They're saying that now the remnants of the building are gonna be torn down. :-( You can look at the video below to see the rest of the story.

        I guess my hubby's sunflowers weren't the only casualty in the storm the other night! :-(
      'I'm not gonna think about it....I'm not gonna think about it!' O_0 Strange....I sound like Scarlett in Gone With The Wind! ... Why am I thinking about 'Gone With The Wind'?!!!! ^_^ Hubby's flowers and the Old Holyoke Mill building are both gone with the wind?!  Could that be why?!!!!.......My brain! My brain!!!! ^_^
      Anyway!!!!!!!...I was also doing something else with my time yesterday...Yep! Crocheting!! :-)

        The latest black and white scarf/shawl is well under way!....My Jane Austen book is well under way!...My hubby's vacation is well under way! Not all good, but still...there are a lot of things going on in Holyoke the day after the storm. :-)
       By the way, hubby uncovered something of mine while he was moving things around. Something I had totally forgotten about. It will involve a new project for the 'Wug'!! :-)) I'll be adding it to my list of things to do in Holyoke...after some scarves and a Jane Austen book are all finished.

        I'll show you what he found tomorrow. :-] Right now, if my brain slows down enough, I'm off to......Well, you know!!! ^_^

I Just Can't Stop........

        WARNING! This post is gonna be all over the place...Here's your ticket to ride...

          ....*Teehee*...It's the Beatles people!!!! ^_^ {You can click on the photo to take you to roguevalleyvintage's etsy shop for the vintage record sleeve} I couldn't stop myself! LOL
      The whole 'I just can't stop myself' theme for this post is such a cool idea, but it wasn't mine. I have to be honest and tell you that the idea came from PipingHotPapers. It's the title of her new Treasury that she added my Sunny Yellow and White Button Hide Away Slipper Necklace to! "I just can't stop...".

         I can see why she named it that too, because I just couldn't stop looking through it! ^_^ You can go and check it out too if you like.
      And I sure had enough time on my hands to go looking, because I'm not sleeping a whole lot the last few days. I think it might be all the rain and stuff...At any rate, I was up 'before the chickens' again this morning...while hubby.....

       ....he's cuddled up with his pillow like this kitty is with his stuffed animal!! LOL {Thanks Priscila! ^_^} He just can't stop sleeping his head off!! ^_^
      It might have been too much hummingbird or garden watching!

       Both are quite enjoyable to look at right now. :-)
     I had something I just couldn't stop doing too though.....Crocheting this black and white shawl.

      But guess what?! I can stop now!......And I did!.....It's done!!! :-)

      I designed and crocheted it this way, with the alternating black and white only on one side of it, so that the shawl could be worn in different ways....either more formally, or casual. In the above photo, and the couple below, you can see how you can wear it with the stripes around the neck area...

      In the below photos you can see how it has a slightly different look, if you wear it with the white stripes at the bottom, away from the face...

      See! It's sorta like the shawl has two faces!......Hmmmm.....reminds me of a movie! :-)) {Sorry...I just can't stop!! ^_^}
