"Need A Blanket And Some Shoes For Tonight's Last Minute 'Virtual' Trip?!" :-)

https://www.etsy.com/listing/96201571/wooden-shoes-5-x-7-fine-art-photograhy?ref=favs_view_1

Change of plans. :-) That's the 'real' theme of today's blog post. ^_^ We had a 'Friday Virtual Date Day' trip all planned...to go nowhere! A 'staycation' of sorts. And now there's been a change of plans.
Why, you ask?...Because we had to stay home and wait for the painter...So we decided to order food in and just take it easy. BUT...the painter came on time! Imagine that! A worker that set an appointment, and actually stayed true to it!! ^_^
So that left us free to go away...'virtually'. :-) And where are we going?! To the beach?...

No! :-) I've seen enough water this week!...It's raining again as I speak!! Ugh!...So nope! Not the beach.....But do I need a blanket where we're going?!...Yes and no. :-) ...I need to take something to crochet with me, and my baby blanket is a must! ^_^ The photo below is how far I am so far...

The middle is almost done! It's gonna be me and some crochet edging on my baby blanket while we're in.....*drum roll* :-) ...

HOLLAND!!! :-) ... We owe the idea for this 'virtual' trip to Olga, of OlgaArtShop.  When I featured a wall clock of hers on the blog yesterday, one that had pretty tulips on it, and mentioned something about pretty flowers in her country of Belgium, she let me know that her inspiration for the flower styled wall clock was not Belgium, but Keukenhof Garden in Holland - their neighbor country!
She said that if you visit it at least once - from March till May every year - you'll get looots of pleasure, great impressions, creative ideas and never forget it! ^_^ .... So, here we come Keukenhof Garden...tonight!! :-)

If you look at any of the above video you'll see that Olga was right about Keukenhof Garden's serene and inspiring beauty. Ahhhhhhhhh!...Just what the painter ordered!....That would be artistic painters and bathroom painters alike! LOL...Have a good weekend, Everybody! :-)

Precisely

I'm  often alone,
but not lonely.
I'm  often at home,
but not homely.

I'm  proud of myself,
but not haughty.
I do some things wrong,
but not naughty.

I'm  outgoing-Yes!
But not rowdy.
I sometimes dress down,
but not dowdy.

I'm  bookish, I know,
but not nerdy.
Yet, a poetry hound,
kind of wordy!

'Virtual' Date Night and a Hot Dog!

Before I even get into my post today I wanna let you know that all of the items I'm sharing can be found, and purchased, on Etsy. Just click on either the photos or the links below the photos to get details, prices, and more photos of the items...I just had to say that because I was really impressed with these Etsians!...Okay, moving on! :-)
Our 'Date Night' trip this time was to a place that we've been before...Boston!

I think I've told you all before about one of the last trips we took to Boston...the time I kidnapped hubby?!....O_O.....Oh!...I didn't tell you about that?! ^_^ Well, I won't get into the full story, but I'll tell you that it was one of our anniversaries, and hubby's schedule had been non-stop hectic, and well...I wanted some time for me...So I stole it!! ^_^
I bought flowers and fixed a picnic lunch and stuffed them out of sight in the trunk of the car. Boston is only a little more than two hours away, but I knew I would be kidnapping him at dinnertime and he would be starving. So I made snacks for the ride, and put the flowers in there so he would know he was being kidnapped and it was going to be pretty special...enough so that I was buying flowers for HIM for a change! :-)
I packed our suitcases, called a friend of his to take over a very important thing that was on his schedule that just had to be done, and met him somewhere that he absolutely wasn't expecting me to be...Oh! I wish I had pictures of his face when he saw me!...Priceless! :-)
He plied me with a bunch of questions...that I didn't answer. :-)) I just said: "Come on,...you're driving." I didn't even tell him where we were going! I just told him that he'd find out along the way...When we got to the highway exit and I made him go a different direction than we would have gone to go home.....face?....Priceless! :-)

I had him stop the car about a half an hour down the road, so I could have him get himself something to eat...out of the trunk. When he got back in the car with the picnic basket and the flowers I took over driving so he could eat. I told him where we were going. I answered the questions he was throwing at me. And once he realized his appointment would be taken care of, and that I had everything completely in hand, he relaxed and was "IN"! Our anniversary could officially begin! :-)
I booked us a couple of days at a Hotel in Boston that at the time...unbeknownst to me...was being used to film the movie "The Housesitter", with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. We didn't actually see the stars of the movie. Actually, we didn't see anybody the first night. :-)) We stayed in our room all day, ordering room service, sleeping, resting, and winding down. We were a frazzled couple at that time. Being able to just do...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...all day...was the best!!
The next day we went all over the city. We had breakfast at Tiffany's....Really!! They had a huge breakfast right outside the Tiffany jewelry store! And it was good too!...I ate good, looked at jewelry, and then we walked hand in hand around the area. :-) We went out to dinner...SEAFOOD...in Boston! :-) Well, I did. Hubby is allergic. That would not have been a good time, him eating fish! O_O
Anyway, I'll spare you all the details.....LOL Suffice it to say that when we think of Boston these days...we always smile. It's a very good memory :-) ...But driving to Boston last night?...Not a good memory! O_O...Our weather.....UGH! Windy...40 MPH wind gusts! Rain and snow mixed. Black ice on the roads!...And we had my sister-in-law along on our 'virtual' trip too! (even though she didn't know it. ^_^)

She thought she was just visiting and gonna spend the night with her brother and sis-in-law! :-) Little did she know that she was on a 'Date' with us, eating Chinese food and apple pie in Boston!....Nope! No ballpark hotdogs for us this time!Ha! Ha!

      It was nice having company. It's been a while since anyone stayed overnight with us. :-] We talked and laughed, and she looked through a bunch of my scarves and hats....{by the way, I made some sales last night...^_^...and I gave away some things too. My shop is missing a few items today. Now you know why! ^_^}
She even took the gray hat with the flower that I just made the other day. That new baby didn't even make it to the listing process in my Wuglyees shop!! LOL...No problem. I'll just have to make another one! :-) I still have the golden yellow one and a red one that I finished yesterday anyway. Maybe they'll make it to the shop today...maybe!
And we may not have been able to see a Red Sox baseball game this time, but...

...tonight there is actually a big game in the Boston area...in Foxboro, at the Gillette Stadium...The Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots football game is tonight at 8:00! :-) So our trip has a slight 'virtual' extension for us sports loving New Englanders (hubby and me! ^_^)...and my sis-in-law will get to visit another one of the siblings that lives in the Boston area too! :-)) A WIN/WIN!.....I'm talking to YOU New England Patriots!....WIN!!! WIN!!!! ^_^
Oh Yeah! HOT DOG!!!...I almost forgot to tell you about the other nice thing I found out last night!...I have another satisfied customer! :-) Look at this nice photo!...
She received it and she really likes it! :-) It doesn't take much to make me smile, does it?! ^_^ A satisfied customer, a good 'virtual' Date Night trip, a great visit with my sis-in-law, and Boston!!
Okay...I'm off to get some breakfast and talk...talk...talk! LOL Today is the last day you can enter the Giveaway for the bags, so don't forget to leave your "Enter Me"!...And have a good day everybody!! :-)
  Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a stinking passport,
or have to wear a stinking shoe!

Friday 'Virtual' 'Date Night'...and Chocolate and a Movie Night Too!!

I've been dragging around for a few days now...reading, trying to sleep, and eating. Truthfully, I can't wait for this week to end! I've been just waiting for the weekend...Just waiting!!!...I think I've got too much on my plate and too much on my mind. Mostly I'm just overly tired from 'not' sleeping!
Anyway... I've been crocheting a little, watching the rainfall a little...

...Okay, watching the rainfall a little more than I want to! And feeling it too!!...O-U-C-H!!! And I've also had a few things on my mind...like the fact that my mother-in-law's house situation is getting more complicated, and winter is coming fast.
Also, my dad is going back into the hospital at the beginning of next week for a surgical procedure that's suppose to minimize his pain somewhat...*sigh*...He's been having a VERY rough time. The pain is affecting his ability to get around now. :-( And I haven't been feeling all that 'hot' myself!
      {And as a side note: there's a cantaloupe scare being talked about on the news this morning...cantaloupes from Jensen Farms. It has something to do with poisoning!!....AND some kind of controversy about arsenic in apple juice!!!...UGH!}
So, I'm all about watching the leaves...the ones still left after the rain, that is...and having me some chocolate and...looking at me a movie today! :-) Until tonight that is!
It's Friday 'Date Night' and I gotta get to work packing my suitcase 'to the gill' with clothes!! Lots of clothes that I can wear in thin layers. Micro-fiber clothes as WARM as I can get them!! We're going to the windiest place on earth...seriously!!...I'm definitely gonna need this below)...for sure!...

Note To Self: Take back the destination itinerary from your hubby as to where you go on your 'virtual' 'Date Night'!!! LOL
And I think I'm gonna pack a ton of chocolate brownies too!...
I'm gonna need to keep my energy up...and my depression down on this trip! ^_^
        Chocolate and peanut butter oughta do it!!! ^_^ {By the way, if you want the recipe for these...and believe me, you 'want' the recipe for these!...you can click HERE.}
Me?!....I'm gonna quietly sit this morning and watch this...in preparation for our 'virtual' trip! :-)

Have you figured out where we're going?!...And if so, are you wondering WHY?????!!!!!....Me too!! ^_^
Oh Well, I always enjoy our 'Date Night' trips no matter where we go. I'm sure this trip will be no exception. In fact, I've already learned some interesting things about this place that I never knew before!! I'll share them with you tomorrow...when we get back! :-) ... What are you doing this weekend?! I'd love to hear!

When I Lay My Pillow Down

What do I want to accomplish
by the end of the day?
Do I want a sense of peace,
or have my nerves all at a fray?!

I want a calm to have set in.
To have my muscles all relax.
To have brain waves slowing down,
and my awareness at a max.

I want to know that I've done good
when I lay my pillow down.
That I've caused someone to smile,
and feel more happy and unwound.

I want the people that I love,
without strings, to love me back;
And relationships I've formed
to be settled and intact.

When I lay my pillow down,
with my business put to bed,
I don't want to have to worry
that I've cheated or misled.

I want a sense of satisfaction,
and that feeling, "Job Well Done!"
No loose ends that need re-tieing.
No last race I have to run.

What I want to have accomplished
at the end of the day,
is brain cells in the pink,
with no foggy, mental gray!

A happy family, happy me,
a happy God, without a frown;
And I want this every night,
as I lay my pillow down.
