Friday 'Virtual' 'Date Night'...and Chocolate and a Movie Night Too!!

         I've been dragging around for a few days now...reading, trying to sleep, and eating. Truthfully, I can't wait for this week to end! I've been just waiting for the weekend...Just waiting!!!...I think I've got too much on my plate and too much on my mind. Mostly I'm just overly tired from 'not' sleeping!
       Anyway... I've been crocheting a little, watching the rainfall a little...

        ...Okay, watching the rainfall a little more than I want to! And feeling it too!!...O-U-C-H!!! And I've also had a few things on my the fact that my mother-in-law's house situation is getting more complicated, and winter is coming fast.
       Also, my dad is going back into the hospital at the beginning of next week for a surgical procedure that's suppose to minimize his pain somewhat...*sigh*...He's been having a VERY rough time. The pain is affecting his ability to get around now. :-( And I haven't been feeling all that 'hot' myself!
      {And as a side note: there's a cantaloupe scare being talked about on the news this morning...cantaloupes from Jensen Farms. It has something to do with poisoning!!....AND some kind of controversy about arsenic in apple juice!!!...UGH!}
       So, I'm all about watching the leaves...the ones still left after the rain, that is...and having me some chocolate and...looking at me a movie today! :-) Until tonight that is!
      It's Friday 'Date Night' and I gotta get to work packing my suitcase 'to the gill' with clothes!! Lots of clothes that I can wear in thin layers. Micro-fiber clothes as WARM as I can get them!! We're going to the windiest place on earth...seriously!!...I'm definitely gonna need this below)...for sure!...

         Note To Self: Take back the destination itinerary from your hubby as to where you go on your 'virtual' 'Date Night'!!! LOL
        And I think I'm gonna pack a ton of chocolate brownies too!...
        I'm gonna need to keep my energy up...and my depression down on this trip! ^_^
        Chocolate and peanut butter oughta do it!!! ^_^ {By the way, if you want the recipe for these...and believe me, you 'want' the recipe for these! can click HERE.}
       Me?!....I'm gonna quietly sit this morning and watch preparation for our 'virtual' trip! :-)

      Have you figured out where we're going?!...And if so, are you wondering WHY?????!!!!!....Me too!! ^_^
     Oh Well, I always enjoy our 'Date Night' trips no matter where we go. I'm sure this trip will be no exception. In fact, I've already learned some interesting things about this place that I never knew before!! I'll share them with you tomorrow...when we get back! :-) ... What are you doing this weekend?! I'd love to hear!

When I Lay My Pillow Down

What do I want to accomplish
by the end of the day?
Do I want a sense of peace,
or have my nerves all at a fray?!

I want a calm to have set in.
To have my muscles all relax.
To have brain waves slowing down,
and my awareness at a max.

I want to know that I've done good
when I lay my pillow down.
That I've caused someone to smile,
and feel more happy and unwound.

I want the people that I love,
without strings, to love me back;
And relationships I've formed
to be settled and intact.

When I lay my pillow down,
with my business put to bed,
I don't want to have to worry
that I've cheated or misled.

I want a sense of satisfaction,
and that feeling, "Job Well Done!"
No loose ends that need re-tieing.
No last race I have to run.

What I want to have accomplished
at the end of the day,
is brain cells in the pink,
with no foggy, mental gray!

A happy family, happy me,
a happy God, without a frown;
And I want this every night,
as I lay my pillow down.

  1. That video made me shiver and laugh! Penguins are so cute. I would guess that you're going to Alaska or Chicago! Bundle up and have a good time. Those chocolate brownies look DE-VINE!!

  2. I'm sorry things are not going well for your mother-in-law and for your dad. Hope everything works out. And...I'm sorry for your pain! I've had an achy finger for a couple of days due to the weather too. I can't imagine the pain you must feel. :*(
    I'm guessing your going to Alaska tonight. Why??? LOL Have fun and I can't wait to see what you're eating on this trip!

  3. Hi Deb, sorry to hear about your pain and all the difficult things going on for you and the family right not. But I am glad you are still enjoying your date nights and that brownie looks like it could cure just about anything! lol I will have to take a peek at the recipe!

  4. Darlene, Ha! Ha! Shivering is definitely going to be done on this trip! But's not Alaska or Chicago! :-) But chocolate will be a 'must'...not because of where I'm going, but just because chocolate is always a 'must' WHEREVER I'm going!! ^_^ Thanks for your comment...and have a good rest of the day! :-]

  5. CinLynn, Thanks for the encouraging words my friend.'s been a tough week for all of us all around! Having exterior happy New Englandy type things going on has made it bearable, but not a fun week!...And nope! Not Alaska! ^_^ But a place that will have you really wondering WHY???!! ^_^

  6. Cathy, Thank you so much for the encouraging words. 'You' know that sometimes life gets in the way and you just have to work on the way you think about it when you can't change it!...And chocolate and peanut butter brownies?! Well...they don't hurt the thinking process! ^_^ Have a good day!

  7. Sorry to hear that...get well soon and everything is gonna be fine with your loved ones to.. :)
    And you just said what i couldnt express in words to myself... great lines to sum up what every one goes through end of the day!!

  8. Sangeetha Narender, Thank you for the well wishes. I'm sure all of us, like you say, will be fine. We're taking it a day...and sometimes an a time. Onward and upward! :-] And thank you so much for the encouragement about my 'words' too! Have a good weekend!

    ps: I clicked on your email(blog profile)but it doesn't show me your email address. If you want, send me an email and then I can have yours.

  10. Priscila, Thank you for the sympathetic words. Yes, I think everyone will work through things and be okay. That's the goal...And I just sent you my email. I don't know why the other didn't work. O_0

  11. My guess is Antarctica - what would the menu be?
    Sorry to hear about your Dad! Hope all goes well!

    Enjoy your weekend Deb!

  12. Lisa, YAY!!! You're a 'smart cookie'!! ^_^ Details tomorrow!...And thank you for the kind words about my dad. I'm hoping things go well also. We'll find out next week...Have a good weekend, Lisa!

  13. I haven't been round for a while - sorry it's been manic back at work after the long holidays ;-) and am really sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's situation and that your dad is not well again. I really hope that things work out and I'll be thinking of you.

    Those brownie look amazing though... and... you're going to Antactica? What? How? Confused.... (is this that you just do something Antarctically themed?)

  14. I'm sorry about your Dad, hope he gets some relief. As you know, I'm sort of going through the same 'phase'with my Grandpa. someone left me a very kind comment about enjoying life, celebrating the moment, make memories (it's so difficult sometimes to keep that in perspective, but I'm trying).,,,,

    that eskimo jacket looks so warm..and the brownies wow, so much chocolate...have a wonderful weekend my friend.

  15. Creating Trouble, Hello!! Thanks for the thoughtful words about my mom-in-law and dad. We're keeping a positive outlook and taking it a day at a time, while wading through the minutia of it all...I'm sure we'll get through it. Somehow we always do! :-)...And you're so right about those brownies! And I'm gonna have to try this recipe at some point!...My Antartica trip is a 'virtual' one. Me and hubby go somewhere different every Friday 'Date Night'...long story. ^_^ Have a good weekend!

  16. Elisa, Thanks for the encouragement about my dad. I'm sure he'll get through this. He's a pretty strong dude, my father! :-)...Sorry to hear you're dealing with the same thing with your grandpa. :-( It's tough watching someone you love be in pain, and not be able to do anything physically about it. But I know from experience that words can soothe like balm. :-] I make sure I share those with him every chance I get...and he does the same thing for me...And an occasional chocolate bar doesn't hurt either! :-)
