Have You Seen Things Like These Before?!

       I'm up early again...*cough! cough!*...but this time it's not hormonal! It's my allergies. :-( The lady that cleans my house came yesterday and cleaned the house, top to bottom. I mean every corner of the house is clean enough to eat off of!...Problem?!...O_O...She, herself, was covered, head to toe, with pollen from outside!!

      She went from room to room to room, not thinking about the fact that she was carrying all of that pollen, and dumping it off with every step, shake, and move...just like the bees do!!! :-) And I don't dare let her know, because she would feel awful! When in fact...I wasn't thinking about it at the time either! O_O 

     So, all night long I was blowing my nose, scratching, and wheezing! O_O Let me tell ya, it's not a lot of fun having swollen sinuses when you also have to wear a full C-Pap mask to bed at night!! Yep!...Darth Vader ain't got nothing on me!! ^_^ Although 'I AM NOT HIS FATHER!' LOL ... {WOW! The things that stay stuck in your brain!!!!!! LOL}

      Anyway!...I've told the story of my allergies and C-Pap mask before! Let's look at a few things I came across on Etsy that I 'haven't' told you about before...because I'd never seen them before myself!...Let's see if  YOU have! :-) ...

Artist's ROCK!

Their eyes see what their heart sees,
and in colors on canvas or in yarn.
You can see it in their photographs of foliage,
or the red and brown that's painted on a barn.

Their heart says: "This bead color's perfect!"
Then you see the artist's work on jewelry stands.
They recycle, mix the media and show you,
and collect a lot of now adoring fans!

Whatever medium they work in,
Whether working with their hands or just their eyes,
you can be sure they'll get some ogglers and lookers,
who, like me, will give them "Ahhhs" and "Ooooos" and sighs.

      Well, guess what?!...You are! :-) And thanks to the video, Makers in Business..., that I just looked at, of the 'true' artist, Marilyn Rosenfeld...

     ...I'm more sure of it than ever, that I am, indeed, an artist...with an artist's heart!! :-) No, my tools aren't ink and sketching materials, or an easel and professional paints! But, after looking at the sweet and touching recap of Marilyn's life by her daughter Liz, (of Mill Girl blog) and hearing Marilyn's feelings about her work, and people's reactions to her work, and how she felt about pricing it...and realizing I feel almost exactly the same way about my poetry and crocheting...I know, for a fact,that I'm an artist! :-)
       The two videos are about 20, or so, minutes each...and well worth the sweet words she conveyed. Part 1 is HERE...Part 2 is HERE.
     I was so inspired...even teary!...that I just had to own some of Marilyn's art for myself!! :-) So, I went by Liz's madeinlowell Etsy shop and bought myself some chickens!! :-)) ...

       When I was trying to think of what to talk to you about for my post today...I drew a blank! O_O Do I tell you about the great tennis matches I've been watching...Nadal, Djokovic, Sharapova, Williams, etc...?

        Do I tell you about the pork chop my hubby cooked...that ended up not tasting like pork chop at all?...Don't ask!! I'm not even in the right state of mind to talk about that yet!! ^_^ Let me just say....YUCK!!

       Do I tell you about the cute new boutonniere I made yesterday, out of leftover threads? I call it a 'one-of-a-kind', but actually I just wanted to use the threads up instead of throwing them away, and I decided that however it came out was how it was gonna stay! Lol...

A Little Doze'll Do You!

I enjoy my sleeping, and a doze,
a nap, and such.
In fact I might enjoy a snooze
entirely waay too much!

At any time of day,
you'll find me like a weeping willow.
Head hung low and dragging,
looking for the nearest pillow.

No, there's nothing wrong.
I'm not depressed. I've still got bounce!
And I can stay awake and be
quite witty when it counts!

But I have been awake for things
when I could have been asleep.
And now my time's so valuable
I don't treat it like it's cheap.

My sleeping, dozing, napping,
is to my life a special key.
It unlocks and refreshes
and dispels anxiety!

Most people try to fill up
every hour in the day.
But me, I'd rather be asleep
and waste it all away.

There's plenty hours left
for all the flit and play and chore.
An hour for a nap right now?!
Why not?! There's 24!!        

I'm In A Better Mood Today!

      I'm happy to report that even though I'm in slow motion, and the weather is still 'Meh' today, I am in a pretty good mood! :-) It's funny how the mind is. And I say 'the mind' because I think that's mostly what my problem has been. There's been just TOO MUCH going on around me! I just needed a long nap..and a few hubby hugs...to deal with it all. :-) DONE!!!...until the next crisis!

       So, while it's dark as all get out outside, and POURING rain, I'm back to enjoying my French Open tennis matches, and looking for something good to eat! ^_^ No more 'meh'-ness, or being a bear. Although I can 'wear' a bear!  ... or two! :-)

Benches

Wooden, with an indent.
Sturdy, aged by the sun.
A place to rest when you are tired.
A stop when you are on the run.

A slatted back, for resting shoulders,
and cemented to the ground.
A wrought-iron rusted swirly arm-rest,
and a place to put bags down.

A place for you to catch a bus,
or to feed a hungry squirrel.
Where good friends can stop and chat
about the big news of the world.

Alone and beaten by the weather,
chipping paint, long past brand new.
Almost like some people we know,
who are inconspicuous too.

So reliably unnoticed,
all the benches that we pass.
Sitting there, just waiting for us,
if we too run out of gas.

I Know I'm Feeling 'Under The Weather' When...

      Look at this...'Pancake Sunday' and I'm feeling meh! O_O Or should I say 'under the weather'. How do I know I'm not feeling my best...besides the fact that saying 'Pancake Sunday' didn't make me all giddy?! 

    Well, I know I'm feeling under the weather when no matter how long I stare into it...

     ...there seems to be nothing in the fridge to eat.

       And when my mind is not thinking about what I can create, or build next...
  

      And when I don't feel like crocheting...
 

      Well...maybe that's not completely true, because I ALWAYS feel like crocheting! But let's say...when I don't feel like 'getting involved' with my crocheting...like I did yesterday, when I made a new button brooch...
 

     I also know I'm feeling 'under the weather' when tennis is on, but I haven't checked the day's draw, to see which matches I wanna watch!...Now you know  that's 'serious'!...especially during French Open time!! O_O

The Ants Are At It Again!!

       Happy Saturday, Everybody!...The sun is shining...even at Roland Garros...so, it's looks like it's gonna be a good day! :-) And thanks to a little 'finagling', it's gonna be a good day for my little hummingbirds at the feeder too! ^_^

       Yeah, we had another little 'incident'...with the ants! Grrrr!...I guess having that hummingbird nectar just hanging there, swinging in the wind like a carrot on a string in front of a horse, was a little too much for them! LOL They saw an opportunity and they just had to take it!!!...the little acrobats!!

      Those of you who follow the blog regularly probably remember the ant 'situation' we had going on here year before last! Ugh! Those ants were driving my poor little hummingbirds crazy!!...Well, we 'thought' we were long past that ever happening again, since the feeder isn't hanging on a tree branch anymore. It's hanging from the over-hang of the house! :-)

       But...those creative acrobatic ants used the blowing of the wind, and the over-growth of leaves on the tree, as an opportunity to get to the feeder!! O_O And once they got to it...they organized..and they were everywhere!!!

      I was so surprised to see the ants all over the feeder, and to see my tiny hummingbird friends hovering and darting in an odd pattern...odder than their usual left-right-up-down pattern, I mean. :-] Something had to be done...and hubby did it!...He broke off the 'bridge-to-feeder-tree-branch' they were using, and used the water spray bottle to get the other ones that were still on the feeder...OFF!...SO THERE!!!...Right?!...

       Well....mostly right! :-] A little later in the day hubby noticed one lone 'large' ant going around and around the feeder!! O_O How did he get on there?!...

     When we noticed that there were a lot of ants going up and down the branch and leaves, where hubby had broken the branch off, we realized what had happened...Apparently one lone steely, acrobatic ant had been still on the feeder...underneath somewhere...when hubby sprayed the others off! O_O Now he was all alone, with no relief coming!

    We could see all of the ants, with their feelers working non-stop, trying to figure it out....trying to figure it out......TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT!!!! :-)) So hubby put them out of their misery by pulling out the water spray bottle and knocking the lone acrobat off!! ^_^ Once he was gone...so were the rest of the organized acrobatic team! :-)

      I guess they know when to give something up as lost! :-] But I don't mind telling you that every time there's a strong wind in the backyard now, hubby is at the window...checking!! LOL Those little acrobatic ants are still wielding power over him, and they're nowhere around!! ^_^ Oh, if only he could turn them all into pretty yard decoration!! ^_^ ...

with schedules that they have to keep.
No time to be spending on verbage,
whether shallow or thoughtfully deep.

Then you don't have time for me!
So get up and get yourself going,
there's somewhere that you ought to be!!
