Cut to me looking through tons of pattern books! ^_^ Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am NOT a craft addict....I'm not! O_0 ......I already shared with you on Sunday the prize of old vintage patterns I found in an old Dritz magazine I have! Today I want to show you an old Jack Frost magazine/book I have!
But first, let me just share with you the treasury that Ashley of the shop Fringe and Flourish curated. She did it out of the etsy favorites of Cindy, of the blog CinLynn Boutique.
The treasury is entitled Cin's Serenity. Cindy did a post on her blog about it too...HERE. There are some really cute items in it. She included my Sunny Yellow Button Flower Necklace.Thank you very much Ashley...and thanks to you too Cindy!! :-) {Cindy, you're always so supportive of me and my shop and I want to thank you for that. It means a lot!...In fact, a big thank you goes out to all of you who've taken the time to look through my shop, do write-ups on me, my blog or shop, or who've actually gone a step further and said nice things after being giveaway recipients of something I've crocheted, or have been customers of my Wuglyees shop on etsy. I don't take any of it for granted...just saying. :-]}
Okay.....on to the 'Old Stuff'!!
This Jack Frost magazine/book has vintage patterns for handbags.
Aren't they gorgeous?!! Oh Yeah! I can see me making some of these! In fact, some of them look like bags people would actually be carrying today! 'Everything old is new again', somebody said!.....That doesn't, however, apply to people and their decrepit old bodies! LOL Everything old, in that respect, is getting older and older all the time!! ^_^
Moving on!.....Look at the cute things in my Gloves and Mittens magazine/book.
Cute little gloves....especially these...
Of course...there's flowers on 'em!...I had to look at them close at first. I thought they were thumb-less! But they're not. The thumb part is just not outlined.
And how about these cute shoes, boots and slippers in this other book I have?!
Crocheted boots y'all!!!!
And shoe-type sandals!! :-) I'm telling you, they knew how to create back in the 'olden days'!! LOL Okay.....so it wasn't 'that' long ago!...Pretty cool vintage crochet, huh?! :-)
I really have to do some crocheting today! I just have to make up my mind on 'what' to crochet!...I've been really lazy about it the last few days. I think the whole ant/hummingbird thing threw me off...especially since that's the only thing hubby wants to talk about now! LOL
If he's not running to the window to check and see if any ants are on the feeder...which there hasn't been for a couple of days now. Hooray!!...he's running outside with the spray water bottle and knocking them off with a blast every time he sees one! LOL I wish I was aware enough to take some footage of it y'all. He has just been hilarious!!!
The funniest was when I was on the phone talking to my dad and all of a sudden there was a blast of water shooting at the window! I look up and it's hubby, with a ant repellent spray bottle in his hand, spraying toward the bottom of the hummingbird feeder!! I panicked and started screaming to him not to put 'that stuff' on my feeder where it might hurt the hummingbirds...but he couldn't hear me!
My dad was cracking up as I was talking loud non-stop, and waving at hubby to stop, but he was waving me off and continuing to spray because he had his eye on some ant that had the audacity to put ant feet on his hummingbird feeder!! ^_^
He finally came into the house to see what I was yelling about, and proceeded to tell me that he only had water in the bottle. It was a recycled contraption of his!....UGH!!!! He was very pleased with himself that he had 'got that ant!!!'....My father, before we hung up, told hubby to please not kill all the birds in Massachusetts!! LOL He felt that hubby could just change careers from being a bread man to being a dead-bird-picking-up man! LOL
The two of them......Ha!.....Mr. Funny man and Mr. Wug, the recycled spray bottle, dead bird picking up man!! ^_^
Okay......off to find something to do. Maybe crochet!!! :-) Have a good day everybody!!!
Sense Of Humor
How do you gauge a sense of humor?
Is it just about a laugh?
Do you only know you're funny
when they're doubled over in half?
Can a chuckle or a giggle
be a clue that you have wit?
Or can a smile and a head shake
be the quiet proof of it?
It's the people that are laughing,
in their house, their yard, their car.
That can spot a sense of humor;
recognize it from afar.
I don't know myself.
I just know what makes me smile.
Anyone who likes themselves
and can be talking for a while.
And if they make me wanna sit
and wonder what will they say next,
then they have a sense of humor
cuz I wouldn't be here unless...
That is so funny!!! Our guys sure are funny when they fixate on something. Soon he'll be up at 3am with binoculars scoping out the feeder.
ReplyDeleteI think you're also having Wimbledon hangover!
I'm watching the Tour de France, I love the french country and it's a wonder diversion while I work!
hope you have a great day!
♥
Lisa
Lisa, Ha! Ha! Ha! Guess what? ^_^ I've been watching the Tour De France also, ever since Saturday!! Ha! Ha! I guess our male-folk aren't the only ones who can get fixated, huh?...I usually start watching the Tour right after Wimbledon. It started before it finished this year! Then it'll be on into the U.S. Open!! LOL I'm enjoying it...although there's a lot of controversy this year!...Enjoy it! Have a good rest of the day!
ReplyDelete;-)) You are funny i can just imagine that conversation ;-)) I love that 3rd bag in the shape of a fan its gorgeous just imagine that in jade green ;-))Happy crochet, dee x
ReplyDeletedelia, You know...I should probably write a book, just recounting the conversations that me and hubby have sometimes!! You 'do' remember the conversation I captured on video recently right? About the parrot?!! LOL...Anyway... ^_^ I can see that bag in green too!! Ooooo! I'll have to put my 'thinker' on that!...Have a good rest of the day, Dee! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour poem is so adorable! You have quite a way with words! I really admire good poetesses, so I am so glad to have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love vintage crocheting magazines- I collect them in fact! Most of mine are from the 70s, and the photos they use are so hilarious. Especially for the male models- picture bright yellow mock turtlenecks with a belted waist- they are so funny!
I hope you have a great day!
HazelandMare, Thank you for the nice words about my poem!! :-) And for the follow too! I just went over and checked out your blog too. You're gonna have to teach me about writing haiku. I've never even tried it!...And I have some of those 70s magazines too!! I'll be sharing them eventually. You may already have ones I have because I seem to remember a brightly-colored high turtle-necked model or two!! LOL Did you realize the magazines were so valuable?! I was surprised at that!...Okay, talk to you later! :-)
ReplyDeleteFunny!! I always have fun reading your posts, especially the ones about ants and spiders...
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week.
Priscila, Ha! Ha! I 'do' talk about 'creepy crawlers' a lot, don't I?!! ^_^ Thank you for hanging with me!...Have a good rest of the night too!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine you waving at your husband and him waving back thinking you're waving hello or something :D
ReplyDeleteYou're right we are NOT addicted to our crafts. Not one little bit lol
I am loving the photos of your vintage patterns. Some of those items look beautiful and very fashionable for today.
I dug out my old books last night & took some photos. I'll share them soon :)
Jo-anne, ^_^ It was almost as if you were here, huh?! LOL...I can't wait to see what vintage goodies you have!! I still have a few other books around here too. Hopefully I won't bore people to tears with it!!
ReplyDeleteHi there my friend! First of all I must tell you that I did NOT curate that treasury about me. I would never do that! It was actually curated by fringeandflourish on Etsy. She was showcasing some of my favorite items and chose the orange items, as well as some of my shop items. LOL Thanks for giving me credit though, cuz it's purdy!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour hubby and Dad must keep you in stitches all the time! Does your heart good for sure!
Glad your ant issues are improving. Hope it stays that way for you.
And...,.those purses are awesome!! Old IS in!!
CinLynn, Ohhhhh! I thought it was yours! It was titled "Cin's". I guess I should pay closer attention, huh?!...Anyway, it was beautiful! :-] And right you are...hubby and dad are very funny! ^_^ Sometimes even when they're not trying to be!! ^_^ {And we had NO ants today!! Either the trick is working, or they're afraid of my hubby!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat picture of all the beautiful, colorful yarn at the top in the basket looks so inviting. I love colors.
ReplyDeleteNicole, You and I have similar tastes then, because I love all those colors too! :-)
ReplyDeleteHAHA! I picked up some vintage crochet books at a book fair recently. Some of the pics in them are funny, but they DO have some gorgeous pieces to crochet to!
ReplyDeleteAlittlesprite, Yes, they do have some funny pictures. Sometimes they're dressed in ways that even they own mama wouldn't understand!! LOL So I guess modeling hasn't changed that much!! ^_^
