Sorry For The Delay........

      YAY!! I'm back in!!...or should I say: "PHEW! I'm back in"!! O_O I was worried about it for a while there!!...My computer modem...or whatever it is...died on me out of the blue yesterday! I tried to refresh...and refresh...and refresh again, but NOTHING! UGH!
       So I called the cable company. They said: "Sorry Mam. We can't send a serviceman out until Friday.".......WHAT?????!!!!!!!!...I told him, in no uncertain terms, and in the nicest panicked way that I could, that Friday was unacceptable! Grrr!
      I was assured that there was nothing they could do until Friday........O_O..........I asked to speak to a manager, and told the gentleman that I have a 24 hour shipping policy on my online shop, and Friday is NOT acceptable!!....I was told to wait a moment......Then I was told that a serviceman would be out between 8 a.m. and 12 noon today.
       I have to be honest...I didn't think anybody was gonna show up! But, at 11:50 a.m....^_^he showed up!! And he fixed my problem!!....and all day long my computer has been trying to update!...while at the same time DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! LOL
      My girlfriend looked at my shop from her house and saw that I had sold some items last night...And then this morning, before the serviceman came, I had sold eight more items!!!! I was livid that I couldn't get my customer's items shipped right away! Grrr!....While at the same time, VERY happy to hear that sales would be waiting for me when the computer was fixed! :-)
    Now I'm back up and running...and exhausted!!! So, I'm off to get something to eat and take a restful nap!...And in case you're wondering....YES! I did take a few naps just the same....They just weren't as restful as the one I'm about to take! ^_^ THANK YOU STEVE, THE CABLE GUY!! ENJOY YOUR MAGAZINES!! :-)

Connection

There's a need inside of us
To just connect with someone else;

To look at them and somehow know
that who they are, can help you grow;

That if you just could somehow feel
the way down deep, that makes them real,

Then your words no longer hide
the 'who' you are-the you inside;

And then, if you should laugh or cry
or lean your head, and give a sigh;

And if they mimic back to you
the same reactions that you do,

Then there's a real connection made,
and all your inhibitions fade.

All the walls that you put high
will fall away-into their eye,

Where you can look and see intense
emotion-and their innocence;

And you no longer must explain
the need inside, you now must claim;

The need to be the 'who' you are.
They've taken stock-and raised the bar.

Now-if you touch, or if you don't,
or if you will, or if you won't;

It doesn't matter-not a one,
the things they think, or what they've done;

Because connection has been made-
the needed, real, foundation's laid.

Now-there's a real relationship
that you give action-not just lip!

Covered!!!

     You may not be able to tell, but there's a vehicle underneath that pile of October 'glistening-white-surprise-from-the-storm' mess! And our car is not the only car around here that looks like this! As you travel around town, everywhere you look, it's like a massive snowed in garage, with frozen and snapped tree branches strewn all around them!
       And it's a challenge just doing the regular things you used to do too...Going to get my cup of coffee at the donut shop and putting gas in the car, a chore that would've taken a half an hour...TOPS!'...took hubby almost two and a half hours!! He had to go from place to place looking for a gas station that was open, and then had to wait in a line at the donut shop that wrapped around the parking lot!
      And as you can see, the view from my window...the view of my beloved self-named hummingbird tree...has significantly changed! :-( It used to look like this...

           ...but now it looks like this...
         There's gonna have to be some tree trimming this week. :-( I'm not gonna wanna look out the window at that!...Hopefully I'll get used to the new view after it's all said and done...We'll see. O_0
       In other news...the power outages have wreaked some havoc with my personal friends and family as well. A number of my friends and two of my sisters and two brother-in-laws and their family lost power. It was serious enough that the two brothers-in-laws and their family had to go and 'hunker down' with my mother-in-law the other night. They may have had to stay last night too, but I don't know. Ma will probably let us know today.
      Ma (my mother-in-law) didn't lose power!...Neither did my dad! :-) But they weren't without incident just the same. My mother-in-law told us...after the fact! UGH!...that she shoveled her own driveway!...She's in her 70s!! She did say that some young boys came by to help her out a little, and they wouldn't take anything for helping her either. :-) I thought that was sweet...but then hubby reminded me that, with Ma living alone, you never know with kids these days. They could just as well have been 'playing nice' so they could come back and steal something! O_O I certainly hope that's not true!...I worry about her so much nowadays. '{'
       And my dad had a huge tree fall in his backyard...right onto his deck!!! He's gonna have to have someone come by and cut it up and help him remove it. Hubby wanted to go and help him, but with tree branches still falling everywhere and all of the broken power lines everywhere, he didn't dare! Dad wouldn't let him anyway! {The day after the storm, a 20 year old guy from my dad's town, who was out removing snow, touched a wooden fence, not knowing that a LIVE power line had fallen on it, and died!!}
       Kids are all out of school in our state and neighboring states too. And lots of people have been prevented from going to work...including my hubby. He's going in today, but probably not for long. It depends on how many stores that he services still have power, and how good the roads are that get to those stores. It hasn't looked good at all!!
      In good news though, today is the drawing for the red crochet button brooch...my Giveaway! :-)
            ...After shaking the entries up in the bag, and drawing out one name...
        ...it's...
       ...Congratulations gill!! :-) If all rules apply, my little brooch will be coming your way soon! :-) {Please let me know what name you're following the blog under (I can't find 'gill') and send your address to my email...which you can find by going to
  under the "About Me" at the top of this page, on the right hand sidebar. :-)} {The new Giveaway for November 15, 2011 will be announced soon.}
     Last, but not least, I wanted to show you the treasury my Salmon colored Circle Scarf from my Wuglyees shop made it into this time!! :-)
              No! It never gets old!! LOL
       It's a treasury called "Salmon"! How appropriate, right?! :-)) There's so many cute items in there! Click on the photo of the treasury to go and check them out yourself. You won't be disappointed! :-)
       Okay....I'm off! I'm working on a couple of crochet projects that I'll share with you soon. Shhhhh! Another secret project! ^_^ Okay...no big secret. I'm making a particular crocheted frame for a poem I wrote to put up in a child's room. Something I'm thinking of offering in my shop if it comes out okay. You'll see! :-]
        Okay....I think everything's been covered now. Go out and make some connections with people y'all. You never know when you may be snowed in with these people!!! LOL Have a good day! And keep warm!! :-)

I'm On A Roll Now!

     Oh Yeah! I'm loving these tiny flower necklaces! I listed the red one in the shop yesterday...
     ...and this morning I listed the turquoise one...
       ...and the yellow one with the rare wheat button.
     I'm going to be making a black one and a white one out of my Portuguese thread today. After that, unless I get custom orders to do otherwise, I'll be moving on to my next project. :-]
     Speaking of next projects, I SOLD the 3 lapel pins I custom made!! Woohoo!! I have a couple more I'm going to be listing in the shop tomorrow...to see if there's anybody else interesting in them...besides me I mean! LOL
    I know you're probably sick of the "It's all about me!" show on the blog today, but humor me for a couple more minutes please. :-) There's one more thing that happened last night that was kinda cute.
    I 'convoed' the customer, on Etsy, to let him know that I was going to list the lapel pins. I listed two together, and then listed the third one. As soon as I hit the "List" button for the last one, I looked up and there was a 'convo'! I thought: "WOW! Has he changed his mind?!"
    When I checked the convo I found that it wasn't him at all! It was rachelheath! She said: "You are in this treasury!"...And guess what was in her Fabulous Designs treasury?!
      It was the two crochet lapel pins I had just listed a few minutes earlier!! LOL
     I thanked her and went over to her treasury to check out all of the shops she had there and to leave a comment. When I clicked on the last shop....I noticed I had another 'convo'! It was her again!! She said: "Must have sold before I clicked finish". I looked, and sure enough the customer had bought the lapel pins already!!! LOL
    She said: "I'll replace it...". I thought: 'Oh well, that was a quick trip in a treasury. Good thing I took a 'screen shot' of it already!'...Then I looked, and this is what I saw!
      What she had done was replace my lapel pins with my Grape Angel Hair Button Flower Brooch!...How cool is that?!!
      Thank you very much rachelheath!!...And just so this post isn't completely 'All About Me' I'm going to share two Original Paintings from rachelheath's Etsy shop.One 24x18 Original Painting entitled Great Escape...
     ...and an 11x14 Original Painting entitled Red Poppies.
      Okay, so maybe it's still 'All About Me' because I love butterflies and flowers!! ^_^ Oh Well....I tried!....Have a good day everybody! And thank you for all of your encouraging comments and shared experiences from yesterday. I truly appreciated each and every word. :-] It made me think of this poem I wrote a while ago.

(Oh Yeah! Today is the official last day of the voting for the About.com 2011 Reader's Choice DIY Fashion Award. The chances of me winner are next to nil. Who are we kidding...the chances of me getting out of last place are next to nil!!! ^_^ But I've had fun with it!! The official announcement of who won will be on the 15th of this month. So until then be prepared to see my 'Finalist Statue Man' standing tall up in the top right hand corner of this blog! :-) After that I'll lower him...but he will not disappear. I'm too proud of the nomination for that!! LOL)

Home Again....What a Treasure!

     Me and Buster, one of the cats owned by the blogger of Art and Sew Forth, have something in common. We favor a comfortable nap every now and then. :-) And yesterday...was my "Then"!  I slept my head off!! I mean what else was there to do, with my computer gone, and having crocheted until my hand was tired of crocheting?!...By the way, what I was crocheting was using up some leftover yarn, making a pull-on hat. This is what it looks like so far.
    I'm making it with 2 baby-weight yarns and a black thread all crocheted together. Pretty spiffy, don't you think?! :-] Well...even if you don't think so, I'm doing it anyway! LOL
   And now, with my rested, at home {computer-wise} self, since I couldn't do it yesterday, I can now show you the treasury that MaritimeArts put me in yesterday! This is Simplicity!
   I love the Black and White! And this treasury is chock full of it!! I especially love the Black and White...Shoulder Bag by allwooledup. So cute!!
    Now, there were a few other things I liked in there too. If you check it out you'll see what I mean! Don't stare at it too long though. It may cause "Clickability"! ^_^
     Then I came online late last night and found out that I was also put in another treasury!! This one was curated by Cindy of CinLynnBoutique. I have to show you that one too! :-)) It's entitled My Hearts Content!
    Here are a few of it's 'treasures'...A Heart Pocket Watch Locket Necklace by lifedream...
    ...a Butterfly Filigree Barrette in Silver by BigBisous...
   ...and this gorgeous Twisted Heart Scarf Pin...by DonnaJs.
    I love both of these treasuries...and the ladies that honored me by putting items from my Wuglyees shop in them! :-) Thanks Ladies!!!
   Thanks also goes to all of you who have been giving me such wonderful encouragement while I was dealing with my computer fiasco. I'm really happy to have such nice people following along and ready to jump in with a good word for me when needed. Know that I NEVER take it for granted!! The poem today...a repeat...let's you know how I feel. :-]

"It's The Sporting Life For Me!"

    Guess what it's doing here?!...Raining! Don't you just love weather?! It's always doing something you can talk about! And how I knew it was raining, or something, was because my bones starting talking to me about it while I was still laying down trying to get my extra poetic dream sequence finished. LOL But I got an affirmation that it was bad weather when I heard a loud thunder clap!...Okay, okay, I'm getting up now! My recipe for the best casserole in the world will have to wait til my next dream session! :-)
    It's just as well anyway, because you can see, by my header picture, what's on my mind already!! ^_^ TENNIS!!! This picture is of a local court here in Holyoke. All of the courts are kind of empty now that getting back to school is on everybody's mind. But, even so, I got hubby to take a few pictures to show that I'm not the only sports minded person around my town. (Although, I'm probably up there on the list...especially for a 50 something year old woman!)
    Before I show you the rest of my pictures though, let me just say that I know I talk about sports a lot. So much so that you probably think I'm some kind of obsessed nut! (The people who follow me on Twitter especially must think that, because I tweet while I'm watching the matches, or games, depending on what I'm watching at the time, as if they're in the room with me!!) But the truth is, I'm a nut,...but a controlled nut!
     I'm up very early in the morning, like around 2:30 or 3:00, and I do a lot of my studying in preparation for  my meetings at the Kingdom Hall (my place of worship), read, get errands done, pay bills, do my blog, etc...all so that when it's time for my tennis matches, around 11:00 or so most days, I can just sit, tweet, and holler at the T.V... without distraction! Contrary to popular belief, I have a very full life aside from sports. But sports just makes me happy! Very happy!! Come tweet with me sometime during a match and see for yourself! :-)
    Okay, let me show you some of the sports venues around our town. Of course you know we have tennis courts!! ^_^ But we also have track fields...
    ...track fields with space in the middle to play...just about anything you want!
    And baseball fields.
     You can come by here just about any time during the summer and catch a baseball, or softball, game going on. There's always a open seat waiting for you!
    The school team mascot is always right there in full display too...Scary isn't he?!..*Teehee*
    But he ain't no Rafael Nadal, Caroline Wozniacki, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Andy Murray, Venus or Serena Williams, or Andy Roddick!! And where is his racket?!!....Oh! Wrong game. :-]
     I know there's other things in life to be doing on any given day, and depending on what time of day it is I'll be doing some of those OTHER things! But if it's between 11:00 and...who knows what time!...during the 2 weeks of the U.S. Open...I'll be watching tennis! I haven't even crocheted anything substantial for at least a week and a half now!! I'll get back to it...for sure! But right now, I'm a little distracted. Good thing hubby understands my sports thing. By the way, he's been missing too! I'm sure he'll turn up around here sometime...it'll probably be around the beginning of next week! Ha! Ha! Ha! I'm sure of it because even I need..

Still Growing After All These Years

   Anger! I've been angry at my hubby for a few days now. Nothing major. Just things that, after 32 years of knowing each other as intimately as we have, are annoying 'as all get out'!! (Sorry...my Southern expressions really start flying when I'm angry!) Strange to start my post saying these things right off the bat this fine Sunday morning, but I decided to talk about it because I figure that I can't be the only one that has gone through a marital rain storm of sorts. And like most long married couples,  and just like the plants in my yard, new growth can happen from old growth when the storm has passed.
   Before I tell you what happened, let me issue a disclaimer of sorts. Most of you, if you've been reading my blog for a while, know that I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. But you also know that I don't use this blog to proselytize. In fact I've been very conscious to NOT fill up all of my pages with my religion, even though it IS a big part of my life. I'm only mentioning it now because it has to do with this particular story. So be patient.
   This was how I felt a few days ago...
...when hubby broke my vase. It was a vase that I loved. It had held these beautiful roses at one time,...
...but now, except for a few shards of broken glass here and there, it was gone. I know you're probably wondering why something as simple as that could be making me so angry that I feel the need to blog about it. Well, the reason is because hubby and I have had NUMEROUS conversations about him putting things back where they're suppose to be. My vase had been moved when he was doing...SOMETHING! He's always pulling, organizing, fixing, something. My vase had apparently been in his way. So it was moved to the 'disaster area'...and "Uh Oh!!"
    You don't know how many times I've heard that! And how many things have 'bit the dust' because of it!! My wicker chairs that were given to me by a friend who cherished them, that got left out in the rain, (forgot to bring it back in the house after his "organizing" was finished), my signed vintage pottery (that after he broke it he said: "Well, you weren't using it anyway. It was just sitting there."), the shorting of all of the wiring in the car (because he refused to allow the car place to install the stereo system that was included with the buy. He wanted to do it himself), and so many other things that I'd better stop talking about it or I'll get mad all over again! And now...my vase.
   So now, my flowers that were picked in the yard the other day are in this jar instead...Thankfully I still have another pretty vase...at least for now!
   It's holding some new growth that I have to plant in some soil soon.
     I'm trying to grow just like this plant. That's why I was so glad to see the subject matter in the Watchtower magazine this morning when I was doing my personal study for our congregation meeting. It was all kinds of wonderful direction for women and wives. It talked about how much Jehovah God values our patience, and how men, because of inherited imperfection, are no longer capable of being perfect marital heads...and neither are women capable of being perfect in their role either. But when husbands and wives continue to work at doing the best they can it can result in the greatest possible contentment in marriage at this time. It also quoted a couple of scriptures that let me know that I am capable of doing some more growing. One was Romans 12:10 that says "..have tender affection for one another, In showing honor to one another take the lead." And Ephesians 4:32, which says: "...become kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, freely forgiving one another."
   New growth...
   Still growing...So, my compassionate and forgiving spirit kicked in and I remembered that the reason he was organizing and fixing things was because he was trying to do something that he thought I would want him to do, and that he sometimes is angry with himself and can't figure out why he thinks about things the way he does, and that I am his world.He may not be very good at many things, but he's very good about loving me...And he loves my God. I'm not so hard that that I don't know what a true blessing that is! I'm growing...we're growing. No more anger...at least for today! :-/

I think the repeat of this poem is in order today.

Connection Rules

***GIVE AWAY rules below***

YAY! The rain and dark clouds are gone for a little while. They say they're coming back later today, but as Scarlett O'Hara said: "I'll think about that tomorrow, 'cause tomorrow is another day!"...Here are a few shots of the backyard, with a surprise!
 And the surprise? Hubby finally got pictures of the Robin!!! It only took him a week of stalking, going from window to window. LOL My big game hunter!
Even the Robin is probably wondering what the big deal is!...Okay, on to my real subject matter today, the Give-Away I'm planning to do! I've decided some rules about it. First, let me show you what I've decided to give away! These two items: 1.) A book of my poems. There are 20 of them in here. 2.) A dangle necklace. The two things together are worth about $50.00! I will even pay the shipping to get it to you...that's my part!

 Your part, if you want to participate in my Give-Away, is: 1.) You need to promote this Give-Away in some form or fashion, and  2.) link me to how you have done so {Tweet on Twitter with " @PoetessWug2 " in your tweet, write an "Attention..." on my Wall on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001040284468&v=wall&ref=profile , leave a message on this blog posting down at the bottom of the page, or convo me on ETSY http://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=wuglyees . The trick is that you HAVE to bring it to my attention. Otherwise I won't know that you qualify for the Give Away!...Then,  3.) I will put your name in a special box I've made for this give-away, and on Friday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. (EST) I will shake them up...REAL GOOD (lol)...and have my hubby pull out the name of the WINNER!!! I'll contact the winner at that time (Make sure your contact info is left)... Oh yeah, if you have any questions, be sure to ask. I'm a baby at this and if I've forgotten anything let me know.
  Okay, blue skies above, Connection with rules made...Go forth and have a good one! And take this poem with you!
