Two days in a row....YAY!! ^_^ And I have something cute to share too!...baby music! :-) Cute Etsy items for baby, or about baby...and music!...Why?!...Because I came across the cutest video yesterday on Facebook and it reminded me of how much some babies....including myself when I was a baby!...love music!!
Is your baby, or children, music lovers?!...

What I remember from when I was a baby...and granted, I don't remember much from when I was a wee babe...was that I loved music!! I gravitated to it wherever it was being played. Guitar, flute, violin, tambourine, etc....WHATEVER! As long as some kind of musical note or beat came out of it!! ^_^ And this baby (below) seems to have the same sentiment! :-) ...

Considering how many musical baby items there are on Etsy, I guess I didn't corner the market on loving music as a baby! ^_^

No, I'm not a baby anymore! ^_^ But guess what?!...I STILL love music! In fact, I'm about to do my exercises, and put my 'records' on right now!! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody!! ♥

Its The Beat

The syncopated rhythm
of the tapping of your feet,
and the snapping of your fingers
to the systematic beat
make the music that you're  hearing
(that you think is kinda neat)
motivate your body's swaying,
and you have to leave your seat;
Now you're dancing back and forth,
and causing rising body heat.
And it's all from a beat-
Yes, a syncopated beat!

My Life Is An Earworm Right Now!

In case you don't know it, an 'earworm' is a song, or a piece of music, that you hear and that gets caught up in your mind, and repeats over and over again...even after the song is no longer playing! :-) I have a couple of examples too...Adele's 'Chasing Pavements' ...and PS22 singing 'I am not a robot'. :-]

Be careful not to play them more than twice...OR ELSE!!! LOL

So, getting back to my point, my life is sorta like an earworm these days. It seems to be just repeating over and over day after day...and days sometimes just disappear on me...while I'm apparently mentally off somewhere playing! ^_^
What am I doing?...I'm just looking for new ways to crochet flower boutonnieres...like a crazy woman! ^_^...Just call me the...

     ...Yarn...and Thread...Hunter!! LOL

...I'm taking naps here and there.....And there and here! :-)) ... Oh! I do love a cat nap!!!! ^_^

I'm listening to music, and watching hummingbirds...

Speaking of which, hubby and I had a cute conversation the other day about how devoted he is to making sure that nectar stays in the hummingbird feeder! Apparently he has a 'just as devoted' fan. A male hummingbird...we think! :-)) He sits on a branch near the feeder practically all day, only flying back and forth to feed, and to 'shoo' other hummingbirds away!
I said to hubby: "Aren't you happy that the hummingbird loves your nectar so much that he wants to 'covet' it?! ^_^"...Hubby said: "That's not it! That feeder is a 'chick magnet'!!" (A person or object which attracts the ladies...Apparently hummingbird ladies too!! ^_^) LOL"

Anyway! ^_^ I think I hear music!...Talk to you later!

Me And The Chickens...And Music!!

I'm 'up with the chickens today', meaning that I got up before the sun did! ^_^ That doesn't mean I slept well though. Ohhhh Nooooo! O_O In fact, I have a headache and pains upon pains at the moment!! Usually that means that we're gonna get rain or snow! ^_^ My body tells the weather like that! But I'll have to turn the television on and check in a minute.
Part of my earliness has to do with the fact that I have plans with a girlfriend today and I wanna be prepared....as prepared as an old paining lady can be these days! :-)) Part of my preparation involved making sure I got my blog up before she came! :-)
There's no 'biggies' going on otherwise...except that my red and salmon orange boutonniere was chosen for a treasury! :-) ...

(Treasury curated by Ilene from Corydora)

The lumbar pillow in my header photo, and these sweet 'babies'...

...were both in her treasury too! :-) ...Hey! They aren't 'Uno's' Chicago Style Pizza....but I can eat some chocolate buttons!!! ^_^

I also wanted to show you a couple of other things that 'weren't' in the treasury. I just found them on my Etsy search...

I was gonna wait until tomorrow to show those to you, but.....I didn't! LOL It'll just have to be something else tomorrow....like, for instance, a certain blueberry and country blue custom scarf! ^_^ Yes! I finally got started on it! And, believe it or not, I think I might be through with it by tonight!! :-]
With the big crochet hook I'm using, I'm ♫ movin'...movin' movin' ♫!!! Ha! Ha!...Moving so much that I had forgotten that I started another purple men's boutonniere the other day, and I didn't finish it!! ^_^ I saw it sitting there on the box last night when I moved one of the skeins of yarn...*shaking my head*...So needless to say, I'm gonna have to interrupt myself from the scarf and finish the boutonniere, and get it listed in the Wuglyees shop!
I have to....because the purple boutonnieres seem to go out of the shop as fast as I put them in there!...The last customer that bought one emailed me to ask if I would like a picture of him wearing the boutonniere for my Etsy shop! I said.....Uhhhh.....well.......Uh, YEAH!!! ^_^
As I've said in the past...I LOVE my customers!! :-)

Okay...since I left you with the Beatles yesterday, I think I'll leave you with the Beatles today too! :-))

Do yourself a favor and go and check out the clock shop though! I almost couldn't tear myself out of there!!! LOL

Okay, okay! I'll leave you some actual music too! ^_^ Not the Beatles this time though. I saw a documentary on our public access channel the other night about Paul Simon's trip to South Africa years ago. The music was soooooo nice! :-) I decided to share some of their reunion concert with you...and a very familiar poem!...I hope you ENJOY it!!...and have a good rest of the day too!

♫ "I Love Music....."♫

Yes, I LOVE MUSIC!! I've told you about that before. But there is something about me and music that I don't think I have told you before...Before I tell you though, let me first say: 'This print (in the header photo) by matthabel, entitled Street Music, is soooooo cute!' :-) I saw it and immediately knew I had to share it!
This is soooooo ME! On a good day without rain, some better hips, and a live band playing for me, I mean! LOL Wait a minute, don't laugh...because in my travels I've HAD days like that! And boy have I had fun dancing to some music!! This print had me going back in my mind to an 'Old School' song called, "I Love Music" by the Ojays! :-) If you don't know that song....you're probably also not familiar with the expression 'Old School'!! ^_^
Anyway!!!...The thing I've probably never told you before is that I wake up every morning.....EVERY MORNING...with a song going over and over in my head! I don't know when this started happening. The truth is that I was always conscious that it happened, but I didn't realize that it was unusual until I started singing one of my songs over and over OUT LOUD one morning, and hubby said: "Why are you singing that same song over and over?!"
I said: "Oh, that's the one that's playing in my mind this morning."...He said: "What do you mean?"....I said: "You know! When you wake up in the morning...the song!" He had such a puzzled look on his face.....and then I realized "You're the only one this is happening to!'
                          {Sea Sea Sea Illustration Print by dani888}
On days like today, with it all dark and pre-rainy, I don't mind at all having a song in my head! In fact, even a song about rain, like the one by Patty Griffin, a song with a slow and grabby melody, makes me feel better!
What is strange about it though, is that there is no rhyme or reason to what song will be in my head! Sometimes it's commercial jingles. Sometimes it's melodies I've obviously made up. And sometimes it's songs from a long time ago....songs I haven't heard for years! It's as if my poor brain got bored while I was sleeping and decided to write and play a movie, but needed some theme music. And while it was filing through the music in my head to see which song would fit best with my dream movie...I woke up!! LOL
This morning the song was Oh Sherrie by Steve Perry, of the group Journey...This song wasn't that unusual though, because I heard it being played somewhere the other day when I was online. I didn't mentally register it at the time, but I guess my brain filed it away until this morning. It was playing loud and strong in my head this morning when I woke up....over and over and over! It was as if Steve Perry was screaming at me!! ^_^
Some mornings I kinda like it when this happens. I mean, who doesn't want The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel playing in their head while they're eating their breakfast?! :-) So, I just go with it!...The problem is when it's a song I DON'T want in there!!! Then it's a lot of work trying to get it out of my head!!! LOL
Oh well! I guess I could have worse problems, right?! ^_^ So, let there be music!!! Hey! We have to have some way to 'Express Ourselves'!!! (Express Yourself by Charles Wright)....Something tells me that I'm not going to be the only one with a song in my brain after this post! ^_^ Go forth and boogie everybody!!!
{I know you've seen this poem numerous times.....but it fit this morning! What can I say? My head is full of music, not words, this morning. :-) * Get out of my head Steve Perry!!!!! ^_^ *

Saturday Steps In With Another Bang!

Surprised you, didn't I?! There's not a snowflake in sight on today's post!... ^_^ Unfortunately, that doesn't mean there's no snow in the Massachusetts vicinity! At noon, or so today, we're getting more snow! 3 to 6 inches more...WHATEVER!!! I'm gonna just keep my head down and continue to crochet!
The header photo is part of my latest creation. I'm gonna be doing different combinations of colors on my slippers. This crochet flower is going on the front of it. Tell me what you think of these colors together...
I thought I'd try something different, crocheting the sole black and using the brown for the rest of the slipper.
I made the flower with the same brown, and a contrasting mixed yarn. Then I put some antique buttons on them, for a little character.
What do you think?!...Well, believe it or not, that's it people!!! LOL I don't have anything else to talk about!! It's a slow moving Saturday morning, and I'm feeling kinda mellow. Maybe it was too much sleep. You know how rarely that happens!!
Or maybe it's the music I'm listening to..."Lovely" by Sara Haze. If you haven't heard it, and you really wanna feel good about being yourself, go to Youtube.com and take a listen! {If you wanna hear a cute, bouncy, fun song, with a message for people trying to control you, take a listen to "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles. The video is so fun!...Music really does soothe, doesn't it?! :-) }...And I know! I know! You've seen this poem before....but I've got crocheting and music listening to do!! ^_^

My Town

I mentioned in my post yesterday that when we had all the rain hubby went around town taking pictures. And since  I already shared with you the town where I was born and raised, I thought I'd share my town we reside in now. It's a very historical town. I didn't know that when I moved here recently. It's kinda fun finding out things about your town that you didn't know before!
My hubby loves this Park, Heritage State Park,

and the reason is because of the restored antique Merry-Go-Round there!  http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/central/hhsp.htm Here are his pictures!

As you approach the building you see this little girl waving at you! The Merry-Go-Round is housed inside this building.

This place brings back some childhood memories, I think, for my hubby. Whenever he even mentions this Merry-Go-Round he smiles...You'll learn other interesting things at this Park too. Apparently Holyoke has a rich Paper Manufacturing history. You can even see a slide show about it!
On the opposite side of the Park is another landmark, the Volleyball Hall of Fame. Who knew that Hoyoke was the birthplace of Volleyball? I didn't! I learn something new every day!...And go figure, it's one of the only sports I hardly ever see except for during the Olympics! http://www.volleyhall.org/about.html
These are hubby's pictures. Apparently the Children's Museum shares the same building. Look at all of the action scenes that are showing in the windows.
Nice to ride by and see so much going on, no matter what time of day it is...even when it's raining!
Holyoke also has a system of Power Canals. They used to use them for shipping paper. They're very pretty to look at even when nothing is being shipped on them though. Too bad they couldn't ship this rain out of here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holyoke_Canal_System
We haven't lived here very long, and with hubby's job, who knows how long we'll be here, but I'm loving Holyoke and all of it's history for now...good or bad! The locals talk a lot about Holyoke's fires. They say Holyoke is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most fires in a year. I don't know if this is true. I couldn't find any info on that. But even if it's true, the amount of rain we're getting lately may keep us safe for a while!!!
