What You Don't Know "CAN TOO" Hurt You!!

For people who really know me, this post will seem to be an unnecessary use of words. I'm very happy to say that, after my 50 something years on this earth, I've developed the kind of personality that you don't have to wonder how I feel about anything, and you don't have to worry that I'm going to be insensitively unkind!
That doesn't mean that I think I'm perfect! Nor does it mean that I'm not aware that I can...and do...make mistakes all the time! But what it does mean is that 'when' I make mistakes...in judgement, word, or deed...it's never intended to hurt anyone or dismiss someone's feelings.
While I explain what I mean, I'll share the photos of the next Giveaway item... :-)
If you've been watching news stories and football games lately, and then saw me making comments and posting my blog, you might have wondered if I was trying to make some kind of statement about things going on in the world!
The answer is "Yes!' I 'was' trying to make a statement....but not the one it 'looked' like I was trying to make!! O_0
Case in point, hubby and I have a 'Date Night' every Friday. Because of my health we haven't been able to travel anywhere for quite a while. To get around this little problem, we take 'virtual' trips! :-)
We go online and learn all about a state or country, listening to the music, and ordering or making some kind of food inspired by that area!...Last weekend it was India.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!...But then I found out that apparently there had been some sort of T.V. special about India and it's mistreatment of women and girls! O_0
Number one, I didn't see the news about it!...Number two, I 'do not' believe that women and girls should be mistreated. I know my God, Jehovah, doesn't either!!...So, I felt kinda bad that people reading my blog might have thought I was being insensitive to the plight of people.
Truth is, I 'was' being insensitive...but not on purpose! So, I'm here to say to anyone who thought badly of my post,...I'm sorry...Please know that my intention was just to enjoy India! It's a beautiful country and has beautiful people in it, as do all countries of the world...which we hope to visit at some point on our 'Date Night' travels. :-)
      If you're here long enough, I'll probably miss something else too! So, just 'Holla' at me to get my attention....{like someone did about this subject, on Facebook. Thank you for giving me a heads up! :-)}
My hubby and I are neutral as to political issues...But I usually, at least, know what people are talking about! And I can tell you that if we had known there was some kind of controversy, we would've probably at least postponed our destination trip to another time! But we hadn't seen the news.
         We're just trying to live our lives the best we can, and keep our God happy with how we're doing that!...But neither are we trying to ignore people's feelings, nor take it upon ourselves to tell other people how to live!...Now, if you want to know what our God says about it, we'll be 'glad' to share that with you! :-) {He has the credentials to make a statement about it! :-)}
So, as you can see, the Giveaway is another one of my afghans (lap blanket). It's an oatmeal beige color, with a chocolate brown edging. I'll put all of the details on the sidebar Giveaway link a little later today...with a bunch of pictures of it too.
While I tell you the second thing that happened, I'll show you my colorful circle scarf that hubby photographed for me! :-)
Okay, so I turned on the football game....Dallas Cowboys, Woohoo!!!...{No, I don't live in Dallas Texas, but that's another story for another day! ^_^}...and I didn't hear my song playing. The song that always says: "NOW the game has started!!!" You may know the one..."...♫ Are you ready for some football???? ♫..."
And being the silly girl that I am, I put those exact words up on Facebook!....Last night I was watching the news and.....apparently the singer of that song was kicked off of ESPN (the sports news channel) for saying something offensive about the president!...*Shaking my head*...WOW!
The moral of this story, for me, is.....PAY MORE ATTENTION!!! LOL...And also maybe, watch the news more!...not just the weather channel!! ^_^
I'm telling you right now, I'm probably gonna have to apologize for something else at some point in the future,... ^_^ ...but hopefully by then you will have gotten to know me well enough to know that my lack of knowing what's going on is either hormones, obliviousness, or some other equally important reason! :-]
It's never gonna be because I just don't care at all about other people!...Unless I've totally lost my mind! LOL Hopefully if that happens you'll all give me a heads up before it's too late to hold a semblance of a poetic reputation!....Consider yourselves put on notice! ^_^ You are now responsible for 'watching my back'!
I'll try to do better at watching my 'front'!! :-)) Have a good day everybody!! {By the way, this circle scarf will be in my Wuglyees shop later today too!}....Uh Boy! I may need another few naps!!

It's a good thing people know me

It's a good thing people know me,
and they know that I just "talk".
Cuz the things that I've been saying
might make people 'take a walk'!

It hasn't been because I'm angry
or I'm trying to make a point.
It's just the silly observations
of a brain that's 'out of joint'!

It's a good thing people know me,
cuz sometimes my mind's a sieve.
I don't remember what I found out,
and I can look insensitive.

So, for people who don't know me,
let me tell you from the start,
my mouth might shoot out kookie business,
but never worry about my heart.

My intention is toward funny,
or to simply tell the truth.
I would never hurt a fly...
Unless he's chocolate...I'm aloof!

Silver and Blue,...Brown and Black!!

Yep! I'm almost feeling like being a seahorse could be to my advantage here in Massachusetts today...because we certainly are gonna get enough water to swim in around here, with all of this rain!! LOL But if I was the pretty seahorse (in the header photo) I wouldn't need water! I'd just need to swim around in the good company of other creative shop owners on Etsy! :-)
This seahorse is in this beautiful Treasury!...
The curator of the treasury couldn't put anything of her own in there, but she has some really beautiful jewelry in her own shop. This is one piece...
Here are a few of the other items in her treasury...

This is the item of mine that she included!!.....
And as if that wasn't enough, lookie, lookie!! :-)) This treasury has a piece from my shop in it too!!!...

Thanks Betty....for including my little 'baby'! :-)...
And here are a couple of the other items from this one that I like!...

You know I had to end with a flower, right! ^_^
I'm on a dead run today...mentally included! LOL I've got a few things to share with you, but I'll do that tomorrow. I also have to tell you what the next Giveaway item is. And since I don't know yet myself....you'll just have to wait too!! ^_^
Off to spend some time with my friend and my husband....and eat some breakfast WITHOUT coffee!!! *shaking my head* I gotta get off that stuff before the 'monkey gets on my back'!! ^_^ Junkie slang early in the morning. Don't you love it?!!!
Have a good day everybody!!! :-)
I wish I was a seahorse

I wish I was a seahorse;
with a curly floating tail,
and I lived in open oceans,
not in Massachusetts' rainy jail.

I could waste a lot of time,
look for things that I could bite.
Oh, but how would I crochet?
Sing with bubbles, also write?

Okay, I guess I'll be a Wug;
Make my flowers, jewelry too.
I can always just be 'wet'.
In this town, easy to do!

Wanna Know What I Was Doing 'While You Were Sleeeping'??!

I think the summer is finally really gone...around here anyway. It's Autumn scenery, Autumn weather, and an Autumn mood that's taken over...and I've got it! Not in a bad way either. I'm feeling very creative and like I need to be making something...N-O-W!!! :-]
I've especially noticed that all the bits and pieces of leftover bundles of yarn are bugging me to no end! I find that when I sit anywhere near it my leg starts to jump....{that could be a spasm though. Just saying! LOL}...and my fingers start moving uncontrollably in the air, as if I'm knitting or crocheting something! ^_^
The colors I have left hanging around though, don't have any rhyme or reason to them...until I put them into a 'Wuglyee' scarf that is! :-) This is the one I made yesterday... Yes....MADE!...
           In fact, I was gonna show it to you on Headless Tina (my mannequin, for those of you new here), but it's raining again...like it did all day yesterday. {That spitty, "I-don't-like-you" kinda rain. LOL}
As you can see, it's got all kinds of colors in it! Reds, browns, blues, some gold...
It's even got some greens in it! :-)
It kinda looks to me like an Irish plaid or something...I found this Tartan plaid wrap in a shop called irish1010 on Etsy to show you what I mean...
See all those beautiful bold colors!...Okay, so I know it's not for everybody. But by now, if you don't know anything else about me, you know that I'm not a girl whose afraid of color! :-)
I have issues with an arthritis-aggravating constant rain, a hormonal lack of sleep, and an ever-growing affection for coffee...which I have got to do something about!...tomorrow, not today! ^_^...but I'm not afraid of color!!
If the rain stops, I'll have hubby dress Tina up in my new boldly colored CIRCLE scarf...Yes I did!!! LOL...and show it to you witin the next couple of days. :-)
In other news, I'm having a hard time figuring out what to Giveaway this time. O_0 I've noticed lately that I'm not getting a lot of entries for my Giveaways. Now, one of three things must be happening:
1. You're all sick to death of my yarn creations,...
2. I'm not making everyone enough aware of the Giveaways, or...
3. You guys and girls don't need anything, and would rather focus on giving your own beautiful creations away! :-)
Which is it people?!! LOL If it's number one....I can handle it! (sobbing uncontrollably right now! LOL) If it's number two...do you think a little reminder at the end of every post would help?! And if it's number three...let me know so I can come and enter your Giveaways and don't have to keep photographing mine! ^_^
Hubby is hoping it's not number one or number three. He's still determined to get all of my stuff beautiful creations out of this house, and out of his way! ^_^ He's on vacation this week. Maybe I'll be able to get him to take it all to a craft fair or something...and sell it all!! :-) If so, that'll be the end of my regular Giveaways! I'll just Giveaway something every once in a while......and STOP CLAPPING!! LOL
Lastly, to entertain ourselves, hubby and I are thinking about starting a blog that we post in once a week as a couple. What do you think?!....And this week, we're gonna try to do a blog post video of him and I answering your questions...if we get enough questions to answer, that is! ^_^ So, if you have any questions for hubby and I, as a couple or as individuals, leave the question in the comments below.
Oh Yeah, I also created my own banner for my Wuglyees Etsy shop! Check it out HERE and tell me what you think!...I couldn't sleep last night, so I went online and played around with my photos on Picassa and the idea came to me to try doing it.....Okay, it wasn't totally my idea alone. Hubby helped!..Thanks honey. :-)
And I didn't create the original banner. I got it from Mariann of littlefoxphotos. It was a 'SALE' banner she made for me. And since I hardly ever do sales in my shop anymore...(never sold one thing doing it!)...I just altered it a little and put my Wuglyee bear on it! :-) My shop looks so different now! I like it and I'm getting used to it though. :-)
Okay, off to get me some breakfast, and a cup of coffee....*shaking my head*....I know......!!...Have a good rest of the day everybody! :-)

Coffee

Why have I become
so addicted to your taste?
Why have I not noticed
what you're doing to my waist?

Why are you the first thought
that I have when my eyes open?
Why is your solution
part of how I now am coping?

I don't know the answers.
All I know is that I'm UP!
And I have to leave you now
and go and fill back up my cup!

What A Colorful, Spicy 'Date Night' Destination!

I must admit that, before this 'virtual' trip to South Asia, whenever I would hear the name of the particular country we visited, India, I would think of only two things...hot and spicy seasoned food, and colorful fabrics...
...(check out all of the other beautiful Indian fabrics in the husband and wife Etsy shop, RaajMa to see what I mean).
And frankly, knowing about the spices and the colorful fabrics was enough for me to know that this was a country I wanted to know more about! So, 'on' the 'Friday Date Night' list it went! :-)
Unfortunately it maybe should have went on the 'Date Night' list at a time when my stomach hadn't been giving me problems all day, and when hubby wasn't working a very long day at work (because it was the last day before his vacation from work)! ^_^
But you know what?! Sometimes you have to make the best of the time you have together. :-) So, for this trip, that's what we did. And we decided that once we got there we wouldn't do a lot of activities. ....So, we just got on the plane and headed to India
Once we landed at the Mumbai Airport...
...it was just a matter of finding out the lay of the land, and hopping a bus in Mumbai...for some sight-seeing! :-)
And oh, what a great country to be in if you wanna do some sight-seeing!..Especially in Mumbai! :-]
Along the way we learned a few things...Like the fact that India is the second most populous country, with over 1.2 billion people...And that,...which I love!,...it has water, water everywhere! The Indian ocean on the south, the Arabian sea on the south-west, and the Bay of Bengal on the south-east!
We also found out that four of the world's major religions originated in India...and that it's home to a diversity of wildlife in a variety of protected habitats!...Awww! A country that protects it's animals. :-)
Just riding around, you can see some really breath-taking sights. Bridges....the water thing again! ^_^
And even though, like many other countries, it faces mass poverty...
     ...it also has mass beauty!...
...including it's beautiful architecture. The Taj Mahal being a noted example...
Hubby and I have another favorite beautiful Bengali love....
...The Bengal Tiger. :-)...We heard somewhere long ago that they mate for life. Now we have calendars, post-cards and photos of Bengal tigers all over our house...for inspiration! ^_^ ...Shush!! We know it might not be true! We're choosing, in this case, to believe the hype!! ^_^

Now, Did you know that the board game of chess is commonly held to have originated in India?!...In fact, I was surprised at what a sporty country India is!...especially it's love of Cricket...

Oh Yeah, Cricket in India is another sporting adventure I need to find out more about!...But, interestingly, Cricket isn't the country's official national sport! Field Hockey is!
Now, as far as food is concerned...and I'm always concerned about the food!...^_^...Indian cuisine is best known for it's delicate use of herbs and spices (see the Indian herbs and spices in the header photo). In fact, many spices consumed worldwide are originally native to the Indian subcontinent!...And chili pepper is widely used...
And I love chili peppers...cayenne...hot sauce...jalepenos.....ANYTHING hot!.....usually!....But "Mr. Chili Pepper, I ain't touching you on this trip!!!! I'm having too many issues with my stomach right now!....But...*kissing the chili pepper on the stem*....I'll be back!" :-)
Indian cuisine is also known for it's tandoori grilling techniques. You can see a chef doing some cooking in the clay oven Tandoor here...
But this trip, we stuck to the lentils... :-]
Ghee is something else that's widely used in cooking there. I'll have to find out more about this class of clarified butter on another trip. You can check it out HERE if you like.
And after you get through exploring the food, you have to explore the music, right?!...And when the music is coupled with dancing, like it is with Bollywood, it's really something to explore!!
We checked some of it out.....But it just made us more tired! LOL This "So You Think You Can Dance" number was fun to watch though! :-)

We're back from our trip, still tired this morning. But we're about to get some breakfast...and a cup of coffee for me! {I think I might've started something with this coffee thing! O_0} :-) ...Thankfully we have all day to try to recuperate from the trip,...and from the week! But this upcoming week has a lot of stuff planned to do in it too! There's never enough time...no matter how much time you have...it seems!
Yesterday, while I was getting ready for the trip, I did a little crocheting. Well...a lot of crocheting!...I finished a circle scarf. Very colorful!...I'll show it to you tomorrow! :-)
By the way, the winner of the Giveaway is...
Dale of Savvy Spice blog...Congratulations Dale!! :-) Just go to my profile above, find my email link, and send me your address info, and tell me which one of the scarves you want. I'll get it right out to you! :-)
Okay, Have a good weekend everybody!! What did you do for your Friday nights?! I'd love to know! :-)

Minutes In A Year

524,160-All together,
make up all the minutes in a year.
124,800-At least-spent working
in a job, insecurely stressed with fear.

175,200 minutes, spent sleeping.
(Or, at least, they say that's how many you should get.)
5,475 minutes, taking showers.
(An awful lot of time spent being soaking wet!)

87,600 minutes, spent eating.
(Estimated at 240 a day.)
The same amount is spent watching T.V.-
feeding your mind on what other people have to say.

5,600 minutes, spent in worship,
with another 21,840 preparing for it.
(That doesn't  seem like a lot of minutes to consider,
when you think of all the wholesome benefit.)

That leaves 6,045 little minutes
to ponder ways to show your degree of love;
To show you care about the people around you,
and to appreciate all the minutes from above!
