Here's What's New...Besides The Giveaway Winner I Mean!

I usually play coy with you and make you read all the way down the blog post before I tell you what the new Giveaway is...  ^_^ ...but not this time! This time I'm just gonna tell you up front...It's one of my Hide Away Slipper Key Chains (in the header photo). I realized that it's one of the few things I haven't given away on my blog!
So, if you're interested in winning it, just follow the blog rules HERE...They're not that hard. Just be a follower of this blog and put the words "Enter Me" in your comment below. One comment a day for the whole 2 weeks until the drawing....See! 'No Biggie'! LOL
As to the drawing for today, the red and white small headband...
...I got only 6 individuals that entered the Giveaway. One of them entered very regularly, almost every day...Good for her too, because her name was the first one that came up!...And she's the same winner as last time...CinLynnBoutique!...
Congratulations Cindy!!...I know you probably can't believe it! But you are doing exactly what I tell everyone to do if they want to win...and you're winning! :-) ...So if anyone else wants to get in the drawing, now you know what to do! :-]
That's what's new around my blog universe these days...talk about Giveaways and sales and crocheting! Are you bored with me yet?! LOL...Well, maybe if I spread the love around a little bit it might perk you up a bit!...So, here's what's new in some of your Etsy shops! ^_^ ...

Happiness!...Just keeping it 'light' and staying away from the dark side today. :-) ...

Have a good day today everybody!!.......Nope! I'm not gonna say it! LOL...Silly kid!!!

Why Do You Have To Share?

I know you're probably wondering:
"Why does she feel the need to share?"
I'll tell you. It's no secret!
It's because...Oh Well...YOU'RE THERE!

Why should I suffer this alone
when I can whine right in your ear?
And, after all, you came to visit,
and you still are sitting there!

Why should I keep it to myself...
this so-called 'Too Much Information'?
If you leave it up to me
they'll  be a 'Listen To Me' nation!

I like to share my good and bad.
I've done it for so many years.
But you don't really have to listen.
You could amputate your ears!

Looking For Comfort...And A GIVEAWAY Winner

When you're 'really' feeling down, and looking for comfort, where do you go?!...Do you...like me...make a 'b-line' for your bed?...Or for something good to eat?...Or for some soothing music?!...Well that's exactly what I did yesterday!...All of the above!
The way I was feeling I could have really scarfed down some hot and gooey chocolate chip cookies...or about a pound of nutty and coconut chocolates...

...or grazed my way through a loaf of banana bread...

...or mindlessly eaten away about a million cake pops...

...or drank five or ten cups of tea with honey and milk.....

...or I could've gone to everybody's standard comfort food...apple pie...about three or four of them on my own!

But I didn't!...Instead I slept most of the day away...

...except for some occasional crying, and some mindless T.V. watching...which was more like the T.V. was watching me...Oh Yeah, I did have some Sea Salt and Vinegar crunchy potato chips and a piece of hot apple pie later in the evening.  I almost forgot about that! O_0
Thanks to many many encouraging comments....THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!...listening to music, and getting some rest, by the end of the day I was starting to collect my thoughts again. I even did some crocheting. I put a flower on the headband I finished yesterday from my leftover yarns...
It's still 'as ugly as all get out'!...but that's probably why I like it so much. :-]

Today I've got to make some phone calls to check on everybody, 'Peaches' family, my mother-in-law, my dad...(we got a call on the answering machine in the middle of the night with my dad saying: "I didn't want to call you and worry you, but I'm alright now!"...UGH! Once I stirred myself enough awake I was gonna try to answer it...while he was talking, but....I just couldn't!!!...;'_';...Suppose it was more really bad news?!...I'll have to find out what that's about this morning.)...and I have another friend whose in the hospital now. Cancer. Stage four now...*sigh*...It's gonna be another long day I  think.
I know that me and my friends are not the only ones dealing with tragedy in the world. As a matter of fact...it seems sometimes like EVERYBODY is!! That's the world we live in right now I'm afraid!...I'm thankful that through all of this I can still look forward to a better future...with no more pain...no more dying. (Revelation 21:4,5) I know everyone doesn't believe that either, but I do...and I'm thankful for the assurance it gives me today. How do people without a hope of something better get through times like this?! O_O
Anyway...there I go rambling on again. Sorry. I'm gonna shut up now and talk about something that I hope Velma finds encouraging...
...When I shook up and tossled around the entries of my Giveaway in my btaylor Giveaway bag, the name that was chosen was...
Congratulations Velma! :-) Your house is starting to be a holding area for all of my 'Ugly Wuglyees'!! LOL And I'm very happy about that too! :-]
Thank you to everyone that takes the time to comment and enter my Giveaways. I hope you're enjoying or having fun with the things you've won. :-) ... The next Giveaway, for December 1, 2011,  will be up later today. It's a headband!!....Surprise! Surprise! right?! ^_^
In your entry comment let me know if you want pink, gray, or a surprise one! :-) Now I'm gonna know just how adventurous some of you really are!...By the way, I'm finally gonna start listing some of my headbands in my shop today too. It'll give me something else to focus on besides comfort food and phone calls!
Okay..I'm off to the races! Yeah, I'm still kinda emotional, as you can no doubt tell. But I'm thankful for my emotions. I mean...I could be feeling nothing!...How bad and unappreciative of 'Peaches' life...a life well lived...would that be! No, I have to say Peaches lived a good good life. And she set a good example for others in how to do it...including me! She's gonna be missed, but she's not gonna be missed emotionlessly!...Especially not by me!
I hope you all have a good day!...And if you haven't connected with good friends and family for a while...share with me in making some phone calls today. I know we won't be sorry. :-]

Emotions

Frustration, excitement,
Great anger, Pure joy!
Deep sadness, illation,
intent to annoy.

Loving, disgusted,
triumphant, afraid.
Affection considered,
uneasiness weighed.

Cheerful, proud,
optimistic, dispair.
Euphoric, in anguish,
gloom hanging there.

Emotions experienced,
the good and the bad.
Without feeling, sincerely,
what life have you had?!

You need hope and peace,
kindness and love.
An unemotional life is
Not much to speak of.

We're like two Cuban Music Loving Squirrels This Morning!

After our rainy 'Virtual Date Night', riding around looking at wet Fall foliage,...which was just as beautiful wet! (Just saying! ^_^)...hubby and I are just like two squirrels that have gathered their riches of nuts! :-) It was wonderful!
I'm saying that and I didn't even have a hotdog! ^_^ {That's what I was craving all week! Who knows why. O_0} But I did have something Cuban.....music at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival!...

          Hubby and I both LOVE music, but he's the Jazz man in our family. I like it, but he LOVES it!! And he loved the Jazz Festival music. {You can check upcoming scheduled performances at their website HERE.}
We also REALLY loved the Norman Rockwell Museum! And guess what? They have great benches! ^_^ We only scratched the surface of things to enjoy in the Berkshires, so we're planning another trip in the future. :-)
Okay, on to today's business...the Giveaway winner! :-) I no longer have my old cardboard box as the place where I keep all of the names of the Giveaway entrants. Thanks to the wonderful Art Life blogger, Briana, I now have this beautiful quilted bag. I won it in her Giveaway. I use it to keep the entries in now! :-)
So, hubby reached down in the bag, stirred up the names, and drew one out.....
          Congratulations to.......
         ....Velma, of SnowFlakeDreams1 blog!! :-) ...Velma, your new Lacy Oatmeal afghan blanket will be on it's way to you soon! :-) I think I already have your address, but if there's any changes send me a quick note, will ya?! Enjoy it!! {The new Giveaway for November 1, 2011 will be posted soon.}
Okay, off to get some breakfast, while listening to some more music from Tanglewood... :-) Loving it! {Below will be some more Jazz, for those who want to hear.}...And then I've got to 'put my nose to the grindstone'...so to speak. I've got a five minute Talk (sorta like a little Bible-themed Play) to write! I have to deliver it at our meeting on Thursday...YIKES! O_O
In the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday! :-) {If you need a laugh, hubby and I updated our blog,...In The House...Mr. and Mrs. Wug. The theme was 'Nicknames'. :-)}...Okay....breakfast and Music!! :-] (An old poem is below too!)

Going Out With My Baby

Going out with my baby.
Or going nowhere, but it's alright.
Playing games and constant laughing.
I think it's gonna be a great 'Date Night'!

Going out with my baby.
Or staying in, and hugging tight.
Eating all the things we shouldn't.
But smiling through every single bite!

Going out with my baby.
And visiting 'virtually' every sight.
All dressed up or in our jammies,
We're having fun. You know that's right!!

What You Don't Know "CAN TOO" Hurt You!!

For people who really know me, this post will seem to be an unnecessary use of words. I'm very happy to say that, after my 50 something years on this earth, I've developed the kind of personality that you don't have to wonder how I feel about anything, and you don't have to worry that I'm going to be insensitively unkind!
That doesn't mean that I think I'm perfect! Nor does it mean that I'm not aware that I can...and do...make mistakes all the time! But what it does mean is that 'when' I make mistakes...in judgement, word, or deed...it's never intended to hurt anyone or dismiss someone's feelings.
While I explain what I mean, I'll share the photos of the next Giveaway item... :-)
If you've been watching news stories and football games lately, and then saw me making comments and posting my blog, you might have wondered if I was trying to make some kind of statement about things going on in the world!
The answer is "Yes!' I 'was' trying to make a statement....but not the one it 'looked' like I was trying to make!! O_0
Case in point, hubby and I have a 'Date Night' every Friday. Because of my health we haven't been able to travel anywhere for quite a while. To get around this little problem, we take 'virtual' trips! :-)
We go online and learn all about a state or country, listening to the music, and ordering or making some kind of food inspired by that area!...Last weekend it was India.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!...But then I found out that apparently there had been some sort of T.V. special about India and it's mistreatment of women and girls! O_0
Number one, I didn't see the news about it!...Number two, I 'do not' believe that women and girls should be mistreated. I know my God, Jehovah, doesn't either!!...So, I felt kinda bad that people reading my blog might have thought I was being insensitive to the plight of people.
Truth is, I 'was' being insensitive...but not on purpose! So, I'm here to say to anyone who thought badly of my post,...I'm sorry...Please know that my intention was just to enjoy India! It's a beautiful country and has beautiful people in it, as do all countries of the world...which we hope to visit at some point on our 'Date Night' travels. :-)
      If you're here long enough, I'll probably miss something else too! So, just 'Holla' at me to get my attention....{like someone did about this subject, on Facebook. Thank you for giving me a heads up! :-)}
My hubby and I are neutral as to political issues...But I usually, at least, know what people are talking about! And I can tell you that if we had known there was some kind of controversy, we would've probably at least postponed our destination trip to another time! But we hadn't seen the news.
         We're just trying to live our lives the best we can, and keep our God happy with how we're doing that!...But neither are we trying to ignore people's feelings, nor take it upon ourselves to tell other people how to live!...Now, if you want to know what our God says about it, we'll be 'glad' to share that with you! :-) {He has the credentials to make a statement about it! :-)}
So, as you can see, the Giveaway is another one of my afghans (lap blanket). It's an oatmeal beige color, with a chocolate brown edging. I'll put all of the details on the sidebar Giveaway link a little later today...with a bunch of pictures of it too.
While I tell you the second thing that happened, I'll show you my colorful circle scarf that hubby photographed for me! :-)
Okay, so I turned on the football game....Dallas Cowboys, Woohoo!!!...{No, I don't live in Dallas Texas, but that's another story for another day! ^_^}...and I didn't hear my song playing. The song that always says: "NOW the game has started!!!" You may know the one..."...♫ Are you ready for some football???? ♫..."
And being the silly girl that I am, I put those exact words up on Facebook!....Last night I was watching the news and.....apparently the singer of that song was kicked off of ESPN (the sports news channel) for saying something offensive about the president!...*Shaking my head*...WOW!
The moral of this story, for me, is.....PAY MORE ATTENTION!!! LOL...And also maybe, watch the news more!...not just the weather channel!! ^_^
I'm telling you right now, I'm probably gonna have to apologize for something else at some point in the future,... ^_^ ...but hopefully by then you will have gotten to know me well enough to know that my lack of knowing what's going on is either hormones, obliviousness, or some other equally important reason! :-]
It's never gonna be because I just don't care at all about other people!...Unless I've totally lost my mind! LOL Hopefully if that happens you'll all give me a heads up before it's too late to hold a semblance of a poetic reputation!....Consider yourselves put on notice! ^_^ You are now responsible for 'watching my back'!
I'll try to do better at watching my 'front'!! :-)) Have a good day everybody!! {By the way, this circle scarf will be in my Wuglyees shop later today too!}....Uh Boy! I may need another few naps!!

It's a good thing people know me

It's a good thing people know me,
and they know that I just "talk".
Cuz the things that I've been saying
might make people 'take a walk'!

It hasn't been because I'm angry
or I'm trying to make a point.
It's just the silly observations
of a brain that's 'out of joint'!

It's a good thing people know me,
cuz sometimes my mind's a sieve.
I don't remember what I found out,
and I can look insensitive.

So, for people who don't know me,
let me tell you from the start,
my mouth might shoot out kookie business,
but never worry about my heart.

My intention is toward funny,
or to simply tell the truth.
I would never hurt a fly...
Unless he's chocolate...I'm aloof!

Irene's Aftermath and Giveaway Winner Announced

I love jamieshelman's 'tongue in cheek' illustration (Fear of Irene) of how all of us on the east coast of the United States were feeling when hurricane 'Irene' was coming. We were all hunkering down with our flashlights...and batteries...water...food 'GALORE'...and reading material, games, and entertainment...just in case we were inside for a while.
We prepared for the worst, and hoped for the best. And as it turns out, fear of Irene...was warranted! O_0...I hadn't intended to do this post today. My intended post was of some wonderful things I recently found on Etsy. (Maybe I'll still do that tomorrow.) But when I saw, in an online report, that there were, as of August 28th, 44 confirmed deaths I was flabbergasted!! Last I had heard there were only 10!
Then I went to my local online news source, WWLP22News, and saw these photos from up and down the coast!! *smh*
Hatteras Island, North Carolina...
The Georgetown section of Washington...
And then there were all of these photos of the damage in Vermont, which was where 'Irene' headed after she left our area, when we thought she had pretty much lost her steam. Well....we were wrong!!!
It's almost unbelievable to me, considering that we were thinking that 'Irene' had been, for the most part, a 'dud'. That just goes to show that sometimes you can be pretty tunneled visioned if you wanna be. And I think a lot of us wanted to be. :-(
There are highway sections closed, cars and homes under water, and there's even some water restrictions for people in the Shelburne Falls area, near us. Apparently 'Irene' caused electrical damage to water pumps and wells, and that's left the town with a limited water supply.
WOW!! A lot more people are having problems than we hear much about! :-( ...Some other photos of some of the damage is  here...if you can stand looking at any more! :-( So, I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge that I am aware of the problems and suffering that people are going through. And that I wish I could visit every one of them to lend a helping hand physically, or to give some spiritual and emotional support...I know it doesn't feel like it now, but things 'will' get better!
Hopefully knowing that they're not alone, and that lots of people are sending good thoughts, will be of some comfort.
And since I don't want to totally leave this post without some good news for somebody, I'll tell you who won the crochet scarf Giveaway....I didn't get very many entries this time....
...Does that mean you guys don't want my 'babies',or that I need to find another way to do my Giveaways?! If you have some suggestions I'm open. I've still got plenty of scarves, afghans/blankets, and crocheted jewelry and poems I could give away!! :-) {Imagine having to coax people to take your stuff...for free!!! LOL}...Oh Yeah, the winner!! ^_^
It's you again Cindy!!! :-) {CinLynn Boutique's Blogspot} I have your address, so unless you tell me you don't want it, it'll be in the mail to you soon!! :-) (I'll post the new giveaway tomorrow!)
Okay, I'm off to finish some studying for my meeting tonight, and then I have to plan for a trip! :-) {Friday 'Date Night'!} What are you doing today?! And do you have plans for the weekend?!

Weekend

Weekend Folderol;
Lollygagging, having fun;
Makes working up to Friday
worth the paperwork you've done.

Your job, all week, came first,
but now it's time for a little jaunt;
or to lay around the house
and just do nothing, if you want!

A little this. A little that.
A bit of fun had out of doors.
A little weeding in the garden.
And a little bit of chores.

Some weekend folderol,
all alone or with your friends.
Or some chit chat with your neighbors,
new acquaintances or kin.

A Weekend that's all planned,,
or simply finding things to do;
Because every Monday will be back
and you'll need something to look forward to!
