"I'm On To Something New, Baby!"

https://www.etsy.com/listing/184708339/baby-crochet-toy-beige-soft-fluffy-cat?ref=favs_view_1

I finally did it!!...I started a crochet project that doesn't have anything to do with lapel pins, brooches, boutonnieres, or crochet flowers! :-) And it's not a custom order project either! I just started it...well...just because! :-)
Before I show it to you though, let me say a big thank you to Lana for including my dark blue boutonniere in her new Etsy treasury! ♥ THANK YOU!!...

You can go by and click on the shops in the treasury if you like. There's some cute items in it...like this little tennis lover from the 1950s below! :-) ...

I just had to share him!! ♥ He looks to be about the right age for someone to fall in love with tennis! ^_^ Of course I was older than this!...but we're not gonna talk about age today! LOL We're gonna talk about babies, and baby blankets! :-)
It was a baby blanket that caught my attention when I was looking around for a new crochet project. In particular...THIS crochet blanket (below)!...

I found the pattern in one of my old 1999 booklets. I love that the pattern looks like inter-connected hearts all in rows! :-) And the ribbon all the way around is such a sweet touch, I think!
Of course...me being me!...I couldn't possibly just make the pattern as it appears in the book!...Noooooooooo! :-)) I'm making it with mint green yarn!...And I may put a different color on the perimeter. We'll see! :-] But this is how far I am so far!...

I love the way the front posts around the stitches do look like little hearts! :-) ...

I've actually done a couple more rows since I took the pictures above. It's looking really pretty! But I can tell it's gonna be another long project, because it takes quite a while to do the 'heart' rows!!...As a matter of fact, the rows taking so long reminded me of another baby blanket that I haven't seen in a while...Oops! O_O ...Remember the rainbow blanket?!!!

YIKES!...I haven't picked up that blanket in....in...forever!! ^_^ I guess if I'm gonna work on this mint green blanket...I might as well pull the rainbow one out and finish it too!!...I'll keep you up on their doings as they go...if they go!...I mean, 'WHEN' they go!! LOL
I hate leaving unfinished projects undone!!...As a matter of fact, I have a few of my girlfriend's blankets to finish too!...my friend that died recently. She left me a few of her blankets and things that needed finishing. I guess I'll focus on getting them done and in someone's hands who can appreciate them! :-]
Okay...I'm all done showing stuff for today, Baby! :-) ... Have a good day, Everybody! ♥

It's Time For All Of These Babies To WALK!!!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/116561444/baby-shoes-bears-pastel-spring-soft?ref=favs_view_1

Let's clear up one thing before I get started on this post!...this menopausal, mood swinging, hot sometime, cold sometime, mentally crazy most times, poetic old lady...IS NOT PREGNANT!!! LOL Okay...now that we got that all cleared up...MOVING ON!!! ^_^
It's just that I've been seeing so many posts and comments on the web lately about people finding out that they're pregnant...(The Big, Long First Trimester Post from the blog eat, live, run)...or about them having first babies, or caring for newborns...(Family Photos from the blog A Cup Of Jo)...that I wanted to share one of the cutest baby shoe Etsy shops I've ever seen!...you know, sympathy pains in a shopping kinda sense!! :-)
The shop is Hopphopp!!...They have 100% cotton fabric baby shoes, booties, and sandals for your little ones! :-) Check out some of my favorites!....Uhhhh...I have a lot of favorites! ^_^ ...

Now, if you have a baby...I'm sorry for making you mentally burn your brain cells right now trying to figure out if your budget can afford a pair...or two..of these! ^_^ And if you don't have a baby, but you have relatives and friends with babies...or 'with child'...I'm sorry to you too!! LOL I just show the cuties, people!!! ^_^
I show the cuties.....and I run!!!! LOL...Bye!!...It's time for this baby to take a walk!! :-)) Have a good day, Everybody! :-))

It Has Been A Joy.....Sorta!

YAY!!!! It's finally finished! And it has been just a joy to watch go from one thing into another...I'm talking about the crochet picture frame that I refashioned into a pillow case,....but that then I reconditioned into a place to put my brand new baby poem...and then collaborated with my 'tiggerific' friend on, and ended up changing it even more...into an embroidered silk-backed poem on a baby pillow, with tiny crocheted flowers ...that you can display in a little baby's room! ^_^
Oh Yeah! This crocheted picture frame/pillow cover/baby room art has done a lot of changing over the last few months...and each new step was a new found joy! :-] ... Now I just have to work on getting it photographed presentably, and priced, and listing for sale in my Wuglyees shop! :-) ....That's where my joy has turned into a 'sour lemon face'! LOL
I really....really...wish I had a professional photographer, and pricing agent, around here!! ^_^ Here are my attempts at photographing my newest joy... (now you'll see what I mean!)...

This dark under-exposed photo of the pillow cover was the best one of the bunch....and there was a whole BUNCH taken!...Hubby even tried to photograph it in the backyard....YUCK!...Not even one of those photos survived!!

I took it at angle after angle, light this way, no light that way...

       UGH!...

The only thing good about these photos is that you can clearly see that it's a pillow! LOL...And you can see that it has little pink and white flowers.....and, okay, you can see that it's crocheted, and the words to the poem can be read.

      ...But other than that! ^_^

Back to the photo drawing board!! LOL

I'm complaining, but considering how long this little project has been dancing around in my "To Get Done" bag, I'm very very pleased.....joyful even...to see it finally finished! And I have a question you can help me out with. Should I sell the pillow cover and the pillow insert together...and charge the large shipping fee...or should I keep costs lower and just sell the cover and let the customer buy their own little pillow insert locally?! I think it's a pretty standard baby pillow size.

I'll wait to see what you think. In the meantime, I'm gonna go and try to get something done on the whole 2 or 3 hours of sleep I got last night!...*shaking my head*...I even had to wake hubby up and have him open a window in the bedroom because one of the times I woke up I had a 'head in the oven', claustrophobic fit!! O_O A first for me!...What's up with that, Mr. Hormones?!!!!!!
Oh Yes, it was an adventure when I finally calmed and cooled back down..and then had to put that C-Pap machine back on to go to bed!!!! UGH!...Needless to say, hubby and I both are probably gonna need a couple of naps today!! ^_^ My poor 'Wobbly Wibbly' daddy! LOL I'm very fortunate to have a man that can 'hang' when I'm 'wigging out' on him!!...even if he doesn't know how to establish a proper nickname for his 'yet to be' children!! (You had to have been here the last few days to know what that's all about! ^_^)
Anyway...have a good day, Everybody!....And get some sleep, will ya?!.......Oh, that's for ME!!! LOL

It's the weekend....FINALLY!!

YAY! Finally! The weekend is here!!...No, there are no sandy beaches in my plans today, but I sure could use one! It's been a rough week...emotionally more so than anything else.
Just as an update, the car is being worked on right now. It ended up not only needing a distributor, but also a water pump! So, it's costed us close to $1,000 all in all...so far!! What a frustrating ordeal this has been. From my hubby being stranded on the highway, to a car repair place trying to 'Jack Us' (a slang meaning to hijack, rob us) for waaaaay more than we needed to pay, to having the car towed two different times (for $100 both times), to another repair person finding another issue with the car, to having to wait for a part to be ordered for the car...and then having to pick it up at a time when it totally interrupts all of our other plans for the weekend, to having to pay $212.00 for a distributor, $70.00 for a water pump, and $475.00 for labor!!!...Oh yeah, and a thermostat and some other odds and ends!!...UGH!
What can I say.....I'm thankful for things that put me in a good mood...like snow-less backyards, and internet antique hunting, and music, and movies, and good friends, and flowers!!!!
Not ones like this gorgeous orange flower...although who wouldn't be put in a good mood looking at those kind of flowers?! :-)...but I'm talking about...of course...crocheted flowers!! I've been crocheting 'to beat the band'!! {what's with me and the slang today?! LOL} I made this little purple back-less one...
...and this little brown and black back-less one.
But the one I had the most fun making....and that took the most time making....was this sky blue baby scrapbooking brooch!
If you look close you'll see that the center button has a "B" for "Boy"! This is a button I've had for a long time and didn't know what to do with it. It seems so perfect for this brooch!....I even put my special backing on it, and some loops, so that if someone wants to attach it to something...or someone...*Teehee*....it can easily be done.
      It could probably even be hung on a mobile over a baby's crib...or put in a frame for the wall! {I got that idea when I saw what Carrie, over on the blog Making Lemonade, did with some spoons and frames! You have to see how nice they came out. Click HERE to see the post.}
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. I'm going to go and try to enjoy the sunshine that's in my backyard this morning. The grass even looks dry! I'll show you some pictures of it, and my antique hunt object tomorrow...hopefully! :-)
I'll leave you with a short poem I wrote quite a while ago for a pregnant friend who was lamenting the fact that she was walking so differently now that she was late into her pregnancy...She had a beautiful baby boy! :-)
