They're Backkkkkk! :-)

https://www.etsy.com/listing/126198986/crochet-flower-necklace-multicolor-multi?ref=shop_home_active_1

Hi Everybody! :-) I'm not gonna be here long. I've got a meeting to get ready for. But I wanted to share a couple of things that are back! ^_^ One of them is the multi-colored crochet necklace in the header photo.
It's been sitting in my 'Expired' section for quite a while. I wasn't gonna renew it, but when I was looking for a new photo as an avatar for my Wuglyees shop, all I could think of was that I NEED COLOR!!...And what could possibly be more colorful than this necklace?! :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/listing/126198986/crochet-flower-necklace-multicolor-multi?ref=shop_home_active_1

Sooooo...it's back in the shop! :-) .. (Just click on the picture to take you over to my shop...if you're interested in taking it off my hands...and making me have to find some other crochet piece to use as an avatar!! LOL)

The other thing that's back...and don't you dare laugh at my fuzzy photos and dirty windows!! ^_^ ...is the hummingbirds!!! :-) ...

Well, really...so far anyway!...it's just 'this' hummingbird! He's been sitting on the branch, swaying with the breeze, and going back and forth to the feeder all day yesterday and today. Cool, right?!...

Imagine my happiness when I did a double take and realized it was my beloved 'little fella'!! :-)

I'm sure he'll have some friends soon. Or at least I hope so!! :-) YAY!!!!!...They're back!!...and I'm out!! ^_^ Have a good rest of the weekend, Everybody!! ♥

Double Take

Yes, I looked at it again,
because I couldn't believe what I saw!
Was it meant to catch attention?
Or to make you drop your jaw?

Was it what I thought it was?
Was it real, or was it fake?
Just like life and all it's wonder,

Is That Real?!...And Can I Eat It?!!

In case you haven't figured it out already, I'm having a slow period in my Wuglyees crochet shop right now. Because of that I'm not doing my 'crazy girl' amount of crocheting right! And that's why you haven't been seeing me showing my colorful boutonnieres all over the place! ^_^
So, since I'm not showing off crochet boutonnieres, I have to come up with something else to talk about and show off around here! ^_^ And Etsy is a great place for that!...Case in point, did you see the header photo?....What do you think, eatable or not eatable?!
The answer is 'NOT' eatable! ^_^ But do you know what they are?!...No?!....They're cabinet knobs!! :-) ...

(Set of Four Realistic Miniature Japanese Bento Box Resin Cabinet Knobs by popplyanddragonfly)

I saw them this morning when I was searching for something else on Etsy! :-) I think they would look so cool as the kitchen cabinet knobs in a chef's kitchen!...or anyone's kitchen for that matter! ^_^ When I saw them I really didn't think they were cabinet knobs though. I thought that they were maybe soap...or jewelry...but not cabinet knobs!
Since they were knobs, but I had thought they were food, that led to the next step of this post...Is this real? And can you eat it?!! LOL...Now play along, Y'all! ^_^

Is this chocolate dipped bacon (below) real?...And can you eat it? ^_^ ...

(Dark Chocolate Dipped Bacon by BeastlyBeefJerky)

Uhhhh...it's bacon....bacon dipped in chocolate! Of course it's real!! LOL And I wish I had some here so that I 'could' eat it!!! ^_^

Is this chocolate cord real?!...And can you eat it?!...

Guess what?...It is real cord. Chocolate colored cord! :-) But not eatable. I'd use this for some pretty necklace cord for some of my crochet flowers...if I was making them anymore. Which, right now, I'm not! :-)

What about these (below)?...Eatable candy...or not?!...

      NOT! ^_^ They're earrings!...Cute and colorful earrings! :-)

How are you doing so far?! :-) ... Let's try some more sushi...or not! ^_^ Are these plates eatable, you think?!...

No they're not! They also are cabinet knobs!! :-) Did I catch you with that one?! LOL...Okay, let's try some more bacon covered with chocolate. Is this one real? And can you eat it?!...

If you thought to yourself: "Okay, the other bacon was real, so this one must not be real!"...you should probably not play this game anymore! ^_^ Chocolate covered bacon is nothing to play around with!! LOL It's as real as real can get!! :-) And this one, with maple peppering....YUM!!! *drooling a little*

Is this real?!...and can you eat it?!...

Yes, it's real. And yes, you can eat it!! :-) ... And let me be real with you for a minute by saying...I really wouldn't care what they shaped it as. It's CHOCOLATE!!!! ^_^ Eat it!!!!

Last, but not least...and be careful with this one....Is this real?...and can you eat it?!...

Yes, it's real desserts. But you can't eat them! They're soap!! :-) And what cool soaps they are too!!!
So, have you had fun playing my game?! :-) Sorry, but there's no million dollar prize, or trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina! :-) At least not for you!! ^_^ I've got a 'virtual' date coming up on Friday, sooooooo! :-)

Okay, gotta go get something to eat. Funny....but I'm craving bacon and chocolate! ^_^ I'll leave you with some photos...bad though they may be!...of my hummingbird getting a little meal in the pouring rain yesterday...

He's in the last photo above too, but you can't see him because he was in flight and his little wings were beating faster than my camera could photograph! ^_^ ... Anyway! Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Birds...Do They Eat Cake?!

And so it begins! :-) ... Or at least I THINK it begins! O_O ... I've been watching the hanging suet cage out my window that my friend gave me for about two or three days now...Nothing!...Not a bird in sight! And not even a thieving squirrel! LOL
In fact, I was beginning to think that maybe my backyard had been declared a 'no fly' zone...because I haven't seen ANY birds...or any other animals back there...now that I think about it O_O ...for a while!
I mean...usually there's a 'hippity hoppy' rabbit every once in a while, and scurrying squirrels. A family of robins are usually pecking away at the ground. A cardinal and a blue jay chase each other out of my tree next to the window. I even saw on the local news the other day that we need to be on the lookout for a pack of coyotes and a few stray bears that are frequenting our area!...But I had seen neither 'hide nor hair' of any of those, and not one bird!...at.....all!!...even though I now had food hanging out there for them! O_O
But yesterday morning that all changed! :-) All of a sudden I heard raucous chirping in the backyard! I looked up and this is what I saw (below).....look closely! ...

There was a bird hanging upside down, with only his tail sticking out, pecking away at my suet cage!! ^_^ I had hubby slowly try to get pictures. This is the only one he got before the little visitor flew off.
While hubby was 'fiddling' with the camera and the settings the bird was going back and forth from the tree branches to the suet, squawking and 'fussing' it seemed!...I don't speak 'bird', so I don't know what he was squawking about! ^_^ ...Did he need a side dish?!...Was the suet too dry, and he wanted it moistened up a bit?!....Did it simply not taste like caviar, but instead was like an old hot dog and beans mixture?! LOL
Whatever the case, the noise stopped yesterday morning when he flew away...and I haven't seen him since then! O_O ... Not him...or any other bird either!! I mention that because hubby was so sure that all the noise was because the bird was talking to himself and it went something like this:

"Ummmmmm mmmmmm! When did this get put here?.....YUM!...I was just in this neighborhood a couple of days ago and I didn't see it!...Maybe it's a trap?! O_O ...*looking left and right*...Nah!!...I just wasn't paying attention the other day. Probably because that red bird was watching me to close. I was trying to keep my eye on him!.....Ummmm mmmmm....but this is so good!!!...I've got to tell harry bird and them!!...Let me see. What landmarks are around here, so I don't forget how to get back?!....A line of trees....a bare spot in the middle of the lawn.....got it!!....Me and the boys will get back here first thing tomorrow...as the crow flies! :-) "

Uhhhh....Yeah, right!!...I haven't seen that bird since his photo op!! ^_^ Maybe that's all he came for anyway....a 'photo vogue-ing opportunity!!!" LOL...Whatever!...Maybe I should just hang a piece of hubby's pineapple upside down cake on that bird cage with the suet and let that be that!... ^_^ ... Do birds even eat cake?!

If so, they may be real happy in a few days, with 'Hostess' going out of business! LOL They'll be leftover 'Twinkee' cakes flying everywhere!!! ^_^ ... Me and hubby would've had a celebratory 'Bye-Bye Twinkee' during our 'Virtual Date' last night...but the shelves were cleared!! I guess everybody wanted to say 'Bye-Bye'! ;-)
Right now, I'm gonna say 'Goodbye!',...*chirp! chirp!*...I am not kidding...Just as I said that, I heard chirping!! ^_^ There's a tiny bird eating away at the top of my suet cake!!!!!! :-)
        Have a good weekend, Y'all! :-)

And You Had What Job?!!!!

I've got a couple of things to talk to you about today. My hubby's 'stick figure' drawn photo that is my header photo today, I'll tell you about in a minute! :-) ... First I wanna tell you a couple of other things.
First let's talk about my old chairs I told you the story about a couple of days ago...I got the most wonderful message right after I posted the story. :-] It was from Sissy, of LoveSissy on Etsy. She was very touched by the story and made me a wonderful offer.
She absolutely thinks the chairs should be redone, rather than thrown away...So do I, by the way, but..........! O_O ....But to that end, she offered me some help. She offered to talk me through a re-do of the chairs, if I wanted. Uhhhh.....I don't wanna! :-))
Then she offered an even more wonderful thing...She offered to re-do the chairs for me! She even said that she would happily take care of the cost of supplies! The only problem is that I have to figure out how to get the chairs to her in Chicago, and then back again......Chicago is almost 800 miles away! O_O
Oh! How I would love to see these chairs redone and useful!...So, I'm trying to figure out how to turn the story of these chairs...which, as Sissy acknowledged, technically would bring about $5 each at a thrift store around where she lives, ...into a story worthy of the friend that gave them to me to keep safe...and worthy of the kind heart of Sissy...If you have any suggestions bloggers.....fork 'em over!!! LOL

Now, on to another wonderful story...a lapel pin/boutonniere story! :-) ... I got an email last night from one of my customers. Her husband bought three of my boutonnieres...YAY!!!!...and she sent me photos of her husband wearing them!! :-] ...

Is that cool, or what?!!! :-) ... I love my customers!!...She went further though! She had an idea to run by me!...She teaches, and at her school all of the teachers are wearing little clips in their hair. She sent me pictures...

Some are apples, or just plain bows. But some are little animals! She thought it would be adorable if they were crocheted, and wanted to know if it was possible to do something like that!....Hmmmmm...She even said that if it 'was' possible, she'd love to buy some from me!!
Now, you and I know that I'm NOT gonna try to make no animals!...Baby Wuglyee bear was enough animal creation for me! LOL Just the thought of the scary look on the face of some patched together owl or bird makes me quiver! ^_^ But the thought of hearts, apples, and flowers on little hair clips makes me smile! :-) So, I'll be working on that....sometime or the other....soon. I'm in full on lapel pin and boutonniere production right now though. :-))

NOW! About my hubby's 'stick figure' drawing!...He came running in the house yesterday, all excited. He said: "I wish I had your camera with me earlier! You should have seen the guy in the basket swinging in the wind!!! Oooooo! I wouldn't want that job!!!!"
That started a long conversation about what jobs he and I have had in our life...I was a 'pea picker'. I literally picked peas in the hot Georgia sun...row after row after agonizing row!!...Hubby countered that by telling me the story of him being a paper boy. He said he was yelled at by customers, chased by dogs, rained on, put in uncomfortable positions...by women yelling: "Come in!" when they were not dressed well enough for a young, twelve year old, unsuspecting, impressionable minded, kid to come in!! O_O He says he still has visions burned into his brain that he wishes he could get outta there!! LOL
I was an assistant kindergarten teacher for a short while....very short! There was too much 'booger' talk, wiping of noses, and eating of things I didn't wanna eat....because I had to set an example for the kids! ^_^ Along those lines, I wanna say that whoever started putting spinach in a can needs to be forcibly placed into a room for 80 days with 130 runny-nosed, sugar-laden pre-schoolers!!!....They're cute, but they're little walking Petrie dishes! :-))))
Hubby was a dishwasher for a seafood restaurant called "Red Lobster". He couldn't even form whole sentences when he was trying to talk about it! ^_^ ...He said things like "hot"..."sweaty"..."waste"..."quick"!...Too quick for him in some cases. 'Bussing' tables is no joke!  ^_^
I didn't realize how many different jobs I've had until I started to write them down...hubby either!...I've been a camp counselor for a group of 'off-from-school, full-of-energy' kids...I've been a personal assistant to a very forgetful patient...(some days she didn't know why I was in her house! O_O)...I've been a nurse's aide...etc.....
Hubby was a machinist, working with graphite (the stuff pencil lead is made of)...a bus driver...*Hmmm...we both seem to have surrounded ourselves with kids. Maybe that's where our child-like personalities came from!....I said 'child-like', not 'child-ish'!...just so you know!!*... LOL...He worked for a newspaper company (UNBELIEVABLE to me, after the experience he had as a paper boy!!)...He worked for two different vending companies (Stocking the vending machines with snacks)...He worked for a 'temp' agency, where they sent him out on temporary, non-permanent jobs, like one where he worked at a warehouse wrapping packages...and he was a cafeteria manager....WOW! He cooked and planned meals before he started doing it for me!!...Aha! That's where the 'Cooking Fool' was born! ^_^ ...There were other jobs he had too...like his last one, as a sales route driver for Hostess/Wonder Bread...maker of the "twinkee"!
What kind of jobs have you all had, dear bloggers?!...(pause).....Look at that!.......Ha! Ha! Ha!....Mike Rowe, the former star of the TV show "Dirty Jobs" just happens to be on the Rachel Ray show today!!! Ha! Ha! I just looked up and saw him!! ^_^ ....Anyway!...as I was saying, I'd love to hear what kind of jobs you all have had in your lives...were any of them 'dirty jobs'?! Jobs you really didn't like I mean....ones you would never want to do again?! :-]
Okay....I'm off to do some jobs I love. Take a wild guess what them include! ^_^ Have a good day. Everybody!

FOR SALE.....Maybe! O_O

Remember the other day when I told you that my mother in law gave my hubby his father's old car?...Well, this is it!...after some air in the tires, a new battery, and a good wash and dry. :-)  Looks pretty good, huh?!
Trust me when I tell you...it didn't look like this when he first saw it!! This is what it looked like then...

Did you see the duct tape on the mirror?! ^_^ ...Even the inside.....YUCK!

Okay....so the inside still looks a lot like this! LOL Cleaning that up will be stage two of this process...to be continued. :-)
For now though, let me show you how nice it looks from the outside!...

Even under the hood...not so bad!

       It looks so good now....

...that hubby is rethinking the whole 'selling' thing! LOL

So if anybody is interested in a $3,000 car.....Well, maybe $4,000 now!...^_^...you better let me know QUICK!!!! LOL

In other news, I had a new visitor to the backyard this morning. I haven't even had a chance to check my photos to see if there's a good picture of him. I made hubby take them so quick just a few minutes ago. If there is...I'll show you tomorrow! :-)
Have a good day, Everybody!! :-)

I've Seen All Kinds Of Things.........!

When you have a backyard the size of ours, you're bound to see things in it that make you smile, like butterflies...

...and all kinds of birds...like woodpeckers...

 (Woodpecker from MassAudubon)

...like sparrows, cardinals, blue jays, finches, crows, blackbirds, an occasional hawk, and, of course, robins!...

In fact, we have robins in the backyard 'ALL' the time! One time we even had robin eggs! :-) ...

You should have seen the maneuvering, and quiet stalking, hubby had to go through to get the picture (above) of those beautiful blue robin eggs! ^_^ But now that the storm took the tree that the robins were using for nesting, all we see are the robins hopping all over the yard with earthworms...another regular backyard visitor...and twigs and grass in their beaks. I think our yard is the community robin supply and grocery store! ^_^

Some other regular backyard visitors are...squirrels...

     ...frogs...

        ...and cats.

In fact, we have a 'stalking' black cat going back and forth, and through, our yard every day lately. He's always crouching and pouncing and sneaking around. I haven't seen what the prey is that he's stalking yet...and I'm not sure I want to! O_O That's because, a while back, we found this guy (below)....dead....in the backyard....*gulp!*...

I don't know if it was the cat's doing or not, but I have my suspicions! LOL

We also get a lot of dogs roaming through the backyard...usually followed by their owners, yelling for them to "STOP!" ^_^ ...Maybe they should buy the doggies some peanut butter!...

 (Framed Cooks Blog)

That just might slow them down long enough to get a handle on them! ^_^

But none of these visitors are the reason I decided to do this post today! I decided to do this post today because over the last few days we've been seeing some 'regular' visitors that are kinda strange to our backyard...in the daytime at least!  O_O
       We've been seeing a fox!...

He's just been trotting through the yard, as pretty as you please! O_O ...Imagine!...Foxes trotting through the yard in the daytime...without a bunch of dogs or men on horses, in ugly riding pants, carrying guns, chasing them!
I tried to make hubby run out there to see if he could get a picture of him, but he was too quick...Maybe he knew that the hunt was almost upon him or something....the imaginary hunt, because I didn't see any of my backyard grass flying up from the pounding of horse hooves! LOL
I'm starting to think that maybe we should be a little more worried about this than we are, because this was, after all, a fox...in the daytime! And the other day I was reading one of the blogs from someone kinda local to us, and she had just had a bear who climbed her birch tree and left claw marks!...Of course he might've been after her honey. They have a hive...But still!!

To top off my story, guess what else came meandering through the backyard a couple of days ago...in the daytime?!...

Yep! A skunk!...in the daytime!! O_O I thought skunks were nocturnal, and that if you saw them in the daytime that meant that they could be rabid!!!! O_O ... Great! Stalking foxes, black cats, dead snakes, maybe tree-climbing black bears!...and now...daytime...and maybe rabid...skunks! :-/
But ours wasn't a cute little baby skunk. How do I know?!.....Hubby actually got a picture of him! :-] ... It wasn't a great picture, but it was enough to be able to see that it was a skunk!...and that it was daytime!!

O_0 ...Uh boy...hubby's gonna have to be a lot more careful when he's taking the garbage out...If he gets clawed or ends up smelling like a skunk....I am NOT gonna be happy!!...I might giggle at him...if he's just an UNclawed and stinky man I mean....but I won't be happy!! ^_^
STOP LAUGHING!!!...What kind of things are roaming around your yard....huh?....HUH?!! LOL...Have a good weekend, Everybody!
