A Goldfinch and a Graduate!
It's not gonna be a long post this morning because I have a meeting to attend, but I wanted to show you my fuzzy photo of who showed up at my hummingbird feeder again yesterday...Yep! Mr. finch! :-) Or, as I now know him, Mr. Goldfinch! I saw a close up of him on the Audubon site HERE.
When I first saw him I was really excited, thinking maybe I had seen some kind of rare hummingbird! ^_^ But then I took a closer look and realized..."Heyyyyy! He has a short beak!...That's not a hummingbird!!!" :-) Then I realized something else...he WAS rare!! Rare to my feeder!! LOL
The only visitors I get to the hummingbird feeder are....uhhhh...hummingbirds!! ^_^ In fact, even though we usually hang suet from this same hook for the winter birds, we never get birds landing on the hummingbird feeder, as if they're in some kind of 'Twilight Zone' confusion about where they are!! LOL
We have blue jays and cardinals, robins and woodpeckers, and all kinds of birds coming to the suet feeder in the winter, but guess what?!....I've NEVER seen a goldfinch there! NEVER!!! ^_^ So he was a pretty sweet surprise to me anyway, even though he was 'just' a bird, and not a hummingbird! :-)
He was a male goldfinch, probably looking for a lady goldfinch, and totally befuddled with my helicopter-like hummingbirds!! LOL Interestingly though, he was pecking and sipping nectar...SOMEHOW!...from the hummingbird feeder!! I know he was getting something because he would peck and then tilt his head backwards and open and close his beak like he was tasting something! :-) He did that a few times. And then he was just sitting on the perch looking around for a while, before he would go to one of the other four perches and repeat the process!!
Who knew!! Apparently nectar comes out of the feeder if you peck on it!!...But do other birds sip on nectar besides hummingbirds?! O_O How un-bird-educated am I?!!! LOL
Speaking of education, I wanna send a big 'shout-out' to my baby-girl daughter/girlfriend who just graduated her course at Holyoke Community College yesterday!! ^_^
She worked really hard to get a little more knowledge under her belt to help her out in the financial department in the future, if need be. And with all of her other responsibilities, being a mom, a wife, and a care-giver to her mother-in-law, I'm really proud of the effort she took through all of the wild schedules and exhaustion in order to get it done!! ♥ "Good Onya, Baby Girl!!!" {And, on a side note, she looked so pretty and grown up in her cap and gown standing beside the young people with their purple and blue streaks in their hair, and silver and gold rings and studs in their eyebrows and lips!! ^_^ It's a different world out there...just saying!! ^_^}
Okay, I'm off!!...Have a good day, Y'all!! ♥ {Below is a little poem in honor of the green I'm seeing in the backyard now...finally!!)
GREEN
Beans, asparagus,cabbage and frogs,
cucumbers, shamrocks, and moss on old logs.
Leaves, trees, and tangy mint jam,
Dr. Seuss stories of green eggs and ham.
Grasshoppers, apples, and new lawn-cut grass,
tropical waters and thick bottled glass.
Pistachio, collards, and yes...Money too!
And don't forget envy. It's green when you stew!
Ecologically aware, reusably clean,
Or you don't know anything. They both are called "green".

I'm Just Hanging Around Today...How About You?!
Yeah...I know it's 'pancake Sunday', but I'm 'too through' with pancakes right now...In other words, I'm 'too through' with spending hours itching after I eat any bread products! :-) Well...I still eat it, but just not on purpose!
"What do you mean, Poetesswug?!"...Well, I'll tell ya! LOL I had pizza yesterday...delicious 'Uno's' pizza...with sausage, and cheese, and peppers, and tomatoes, and...and....*itching*...and...*more itching*...and...*AARGH!...MORE ITCHING!!!*...*sigh*...I was sooooo craving the pizza, and I hadn't been itching for quite a while now, and......I had forgotten I wasn't suppose to be eating bread products...of which, F.Y.I., pizza crust is a bread product!! O_O
So I spent part of my evening scratching, drinking lots of water, and trying to focus past all of the itching!...*Ugh!*...Anyway!...and don't think I'm crazy! ^_^...but now we have leftover pizza in the house...and...the pizza 'pre-itch' was soooooo good that...yes I am!... I'm debating with myself about how much itching I can actually take!! LOL...
Is it any wonder that I'm just gonna be hanging around today...like a sloth?!...but with a little movement to scratch myself ^_^ Obviously the itching is not that serious...just aggravating. And I'm an expert in dealing with aggravation!! LOL
Moving on.....! ^_^
I just wanted to share a few 'cuties' from my Etsy search!...
Every item seems like it would have a great story!...The long comfortable dress to hide flat shoes, that you wanted to wear for that dress-up occasion, instead of 3-inch heels!...The crochet snowman you could keep as a reminder of your favorite winter...instead of a ball of snow put in the freezer that would turn into a hard ice ball anyway!...and so forth and so on. ^_^
And then there's this item...
This cup doesn't have to have a story...but it does! :-) And it's a story I love..."Pride and Prejudice"!! There was a television marathon of it on yesterday! :-) Great stuff to scratch your itches by!! ^_^ But I'm gonna find something more positive to do with my time today!...if I can avoid the pizza leftovers I mean...Maybe I should just stick to 'green' foods! ^_^ Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

Finals!!...It's Almost Over Now!
If you're a tennis watcher I don't have to explain who this is in the header photo. But just in case you're not familiar...meet "Baby Boy"! ^_^ ...(All of the game photos are being shared from the Roland-Garros Facebook page.)... That's what I call him anyway. His given name is Rafael Nadal. He's a clay court specialist. In fact, his success on clay has earned him the nickname "The King of Clay".
He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time!...He's also the world #2!...but in my book he's #1. :-) His credentials are so vast that I risk boring you to tears trying to list them! LOL So instead I'll just say: Check out this Wikipedia link --> HERE <-- if you wanna see the details. :-)
Something that I can tell you about Rafael Nadal is that he's won a record six French Open titles, tied with Bjorn Borg,...who himself is also considered by many to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time!... But if Rafa wins this tournament he'll go into the record books ahead of Bjorn!! No little feat!!
Nadal's match with David Ferrer was first up yesterday...
To his credit, Ferrer played his heart out. He chased every flying tennis ball, came forward offensively, hung tough defensively, but alas...
...'Baby Boy' was just too tough for him...TOO TOUGH!! Nadal moved left with power, moved right with guile, moved forward with confidence, moved backwards without fear...At one point Ferrer hit a ball so great that it had Nadal scrambling and then on his bottom on the court!...
...but Nadal stuck out his racket and hit a return point from a seated position...on his bottom!...then, mid-point, he got up, hit another ball or two...and won the point!!! ^_^ ....As I said TOO TOUGH for Ferrer!
But Ferrer has seen this before. Both Nadal and Ferrer are Spanish professional tennis players...Rafa, from Majorca Spain. David, from Valencia. They've played each other many...many...many times before. But for this match Ferrer said: "... I didn’t have any chance...".
No shame on your part though, David, 'Baby Boy' was just on his game, as he has been this whole tournament!!...
The other match yesterday, to determine who was gonna be playing Rafael Nadal in the final, was between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic...I'd love to tell you that it was a 'dog fight' match...that it went down to the wire...that it was a nail-biter to the end....BUT it didn't turn out to be as competitive as I thought it was gonna be.
Roger put in a valiant effort, as he always does, but Novak was all over the court, in his face, on his case...EVERYWHERE!!!...
In the end all Roger could do was give a respectful wave to the crowd that supported him throughout the tournament, and leave the court with his head held high...
Djokovic had just been 'too good'!...
So meet Baby Boy's opponent for Sunday, Novak Djokovic...
I think that match really is gonna be a 'FIGHT'!!! ^_^
But let's not get ahead of ourselves! :-) There's a women's final being played today...Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani!...
You know where I'll be today...after taking care of my other important business today I mean!! ^_^
And then tonight...it's all gonna be about GREEN Y'all!!...it's the last game of the Basketball Playoffs before the Finals...it's game 7...between the Boston Celtics (green) and the Miami Heat!!!... O_O ...It's gonna be another nail-biter I think!!.....What?! O_O Did you think tennis was the only thing I was interested in lately?! LOL...
Well, if you thought that.....you would be wrong!! ^_^
^_^ I've got a bunch of crocheted things I've been working on to show you too....but it's all gotta wait!!! :-) Have a good weekend, Everybody!!

Kissinglass...And A Black Cat!
I did it again!!...And no, I'm not talking about sleeping waaay too long...even though I did that too! ^_^ I'm talking about running into another shop on etsy with a bunch of unique, one of a kind, items in it!
I Love the candle holder in the header photo, with the twisty tree and the cat sitting in it. :-) ...Actually, I love the whole kissinglass shop!...and every single recycled glass piece!!...How cool that every piece has a signature ladybug on them! :-) Oh! The detail on each piece is amazing!...and looking for the ladybug on each piece is kinda fun too! :-)
And as much as I love the twisty tree with the cat, that's not my favorite piece in the shop! My favorite piece is this red art vase with the sculptured raven silhouetted onto it with foliage....
Yes, I love it because it's so colorful! But also the shape of it is fabulous! I can almost see some red roses that hubby gave me in there already!....Ummmm...*yelling into the other room*..."Did you hear that honey?!!!!!" LOL
Anyway!...I love the red one. But if you've been here long enough you know that red is not necessarily my favorite color....That would be GREEN. And guess what?!...There's a Malachite green art vase in the shop too! And it also has a raven! :-) ...
Me and ravens go waaay back!...Back to high school, when my English teacher made us learn about poetry....Edgar Allen Poe poetry to be exact!..."The Raven". It started: "Once upon a midnight dreary...." *cold shiver!*...That poem used to scare me to death!! O_O ...It's still not 'my' kind of poetry, but what I remember from reading and studying it in high school was how words can be so powerful. They can make your emotions soar...for good or for bad...And for me, that poem's emotion inducement was definitely for bad!! ^_^ ...But seeing ravens on a beautiful piece of art glass....is definitely for good! :-)
Moving on!!...Something else that was done 'again' yesterday, was that one of my Wuglyees shop items was chosen for a treasury! :-) ...(Actually there were three treasuries with my items in them yesterday!!! ^_^ I was so flattered...I'll show you the other two tomorrow.)...The item that was chosen was my gray, black and white flower button headband...
It was included in Natalia Georgieva's treasury entitled Black Cat...
I feel very honored to have my headband sharing a 'virtual' gallery space with here, alongside these items (below)...
{This outfit is $20.00!!!!!...I just had to tell you that!}
Nice, right?! :-] ... Not I have my mind on something black! :-)) So, maybe I need to make something black! ^_^ I know I need to make something red...a replacement...because I sold a red men's boutonniere yesterday! Woohoo!!! :-]
Maybe it'll be a red or black version of these fingerless gloves!...
I finished them last night! :-) And as you can see, I added a little drawstring, flower dangle to one of them...
So far I've only put this dangle on one glove. I'm debating with myself on whether I should put one on both gloves...or would that be too kindergarten. What do you think?!
Right now they're 'haute couture'-like!! LOL...Well, sorta! ^_^
Okay...I'm off to get my day started....finally! ^_^ Yes, I'm still having a little struggle with the scheduling thing now that hubby is home. I'm using to having my blog post up before 9 a.m. And that's what I'm still aiming for!!! LOL I'm only an hour and a half late today!! LOL I'll get back there. I'm determined!!! ^_^ Have a good day everybody!!
