There Are Only Eleven Words To Say Today!...And Some News! :-)

         CONGRATULATIONS Rafael Nadal!!!! :-)

...And you too, Serena Williams!!! :-)

      THAT - IS - ALL!! ^_^

News

News of war and near disasters,
Lots of folks who are to blame;
A world that's ever slightly shifting,
and yet still remains the same.

You can turn off your T.V.,
Unplug your phone. No one would care.
But soon you'll need to be connected,
and the news will still be there!

We have to streamline all our focus,
no matter what we use,
and keep our minds on what's important.
Now, Baby, that's some news!

If You Could Be Looking At Anything You Wanted To Right Now...

Isn't that a beautiful painting?! :-) The colors are a beautiful feast for the eyes this early in the morning!...Well, it's early in the morning 'here'! I'm not sure what time it is where 'you' are! ^_^ You understand what I mean?!....No?! O_O ...Okay, let me show you...

The above photo is what I'm looking at out my window right now!...kinda dark, pre-sunrise...kinda chilly, pre-Autumn...kinda...hey!...look at the yellow flowers!!! :-) Where did they come from?! They weren't there yesterday!!!
And believe it or not, a hummingbird just landed at the feeder too! :-) I know better than trying to take the camera out again...he's waaaaay too fast for that! ^_^ But let me just say...it's a great thing to be looking at right now....*Ahhhhhhh!*
So, that begs the question...what would I like to be looking at if I could be looking at anything this morning...besides blue and orange paintings, yellow backyard flowers, and hummingbirds?!.....Well, I'll tell you!...

I'd like to be looking at some chocolate wrapped in peanut butter!!!!...and don't let it escape your notice that the above chocolate and peanut butter goodie also has BACON!!! ^_^ ...*drooling*... What can I say! That...and a song by Chaka Khan...was what I woke up with on my mind this morning! ^_^ And no!...there never really is any rhyme or reason when you're dealing with a 'Wug' brain like mine! LOL

'My' brain aside...what could 'YOU' be looking at right now?!....Hmmmm...if you're a mom, you could be looking at this!...

Oh! If only I had a little one year old baby girl!! ^_^ ... But then that would bring up a whole other set of questions and problems this 'Wug' brain can't handle this morning!....So, never mind!! LOL

If you're a writer of poetry, like myself, you could be looking at this journal this morning...

...and I hope that yours wouldn't be staring back at you, with that "What is wrong with you?!" look in it's eye...fold...like my current one is doing!! ^_^ Yeah, it's been a while since I was inspired to pick it up. My typing finger has been getting all of the love. :-) ....hunt......peck......hunt.......peck! Ha! Ha!

If you're a handsome, dapper, gentleman, with a formal event, or a wedding, to attend...you could be looking at some of my new lapel pins right now! :-) ... This is the variegated red (below)...

...This is the variegated 'stormy skies' (below)...

I sure hope somebody is looking through my Wuglyees shop for some lapel pins! O_O I've been hearing crickets in there for a few days now!! LOL

In other news, let's talk sports! ^_^ I know you can't be looking at this right now...because today's coverage (U.S. Open tennis) doesn't start for another two and a half hours or so! ^_^ But I was looking at it last night, and WOW!!!
Victoria Azarenka and Rafael Nadal put 'beat downs' on their opponents!!...Now Victoria Azarenka (on the right below) is through to the semi-finals with a 6-2 6-3 win over Daniela Hantuchova...She'll be playing Flavia Pennetta (on the left below) for a place in the final...

And my 'baby boy', Rafael Nadal on the left below...for those of you who might have been living under a rock!! LOL), eased his way into the semi-finals with a 6-0 6-2 6-2 win over Tommy Robredo...Next stop? Playing Richard Gasquet (on the right below) for a spot in the men's final...

I.....L-O-V-E......the second week of the majors...no matter what major tennis tournament it is!...Wimbledon, The Australian Open, The French Open, or the U.S. Open!...That's when the field has narrowed down to the 'goodies'!! And...Ooooo.....wheee! It's nothing but goodie players from here to Monday coming!...(And that was no mistake, me saying Monday, either. The U.S. Open final is pushed to Monday this year...and maybe next year too...because of the new roof and building projects going on in, and around, the New York tennis stadiums of the U.S. Open.)

And just so you know that my head isn't completely turning left and right, back and forth, over a tennis net...here's some more sports news! :-) ...

Congratulations to David Ortiz on his career hit 2,000!...YAY for baseball!!! ^_^

     Okay...one more bit of news and then I'm out!....It's about 'The Big E'...local folks, HEADS UP!! ^_^... It'll be from September 13-29, 2013!...In other words...SOON!!!! ^_^ ...Okay....DONE! :-)
Now I'm looking at the time right now! YIKES!!!!.....Have a good day, everybody!....Bye!

Fishing-Life

This world is like a pond in which
you can't help but get wet.
We are like the fish snatched up
into the fisher's net.

The pond-it represents all of
our jobs and bills and debt,
that we swim in every day,
chasing the bait that's hard to get.

The world throws out a line
that we follow to the top;
Then we're pulled away from safety,
and on land we flip and flop.

Even if we get away,
we're now wounded, dry and tired,
`cause we've jumped out of the frying pan,
and now we're in the fire!

It's Wimledon 2013....Baby!!!

        (Photo: Matthias Hangst/AELTC)

First, before I go any further, let me tell you that all of the photos in this post are being shared from the Wimbledon Facebook page. I'm telling you that because I think that the photographers who captured the 'feel' of getting ready for Wimbledon so wonderfully should get credit for it! :-) Whoop! Whoop! I'm ready for tennis, baby!!! ^_^

As you can see in the header photo,  the groundstaff prepared the courts ahead of the Wimbledon Championships...In other photos you can see how everybody is getting ready!

A member of the groundstaff cared for plants around the grounds...

The players were getting ready too!...The men's world number one, Novak Djokovic...

And the women's world number one, Serena Williams...

    The home town boy...Andy Murray! :-) ...

     And my 'baby boy'...Rafael Nadal! :-) ...

Yes, I call him 'baby boy'. It's an affectionate term for him. What can I say...I'm a Georgia Girl! ^_^ That's what we call someone we feel affection for...baby boy or baby girl...And Oh yeah, we call baby boys that are as cute as all get out 'baby boy' too!! ^_^ ...

I digress! ^_^ ...As I was saying, it's Wimbledon time, BABY!!!! ^_^ ... All the balls are ready to go!...

 (Photo:  Jon Buckle/AELTC)

And the crowds have poured into the stadium!...

I'm gonna go and find me some breakfast, and maybe even some traditional Wimbledon fare...strawberries and cream!! ^_^ Or popcorn!! Whatever!! LOL

Have a good day, Everybody! :-) I'm gonna have a good tennis-inspired two weeks!! :-]

Distracted

I'm terribly distracted.
Watching tennis all the time,
I don't even wanna talk.
And it's a struggle writing rhyme.

And I'm wonderfully distracted.
Doing what I love to do.
Whoop and holler at the T.V.,
while I blog a bit for you.

I'm sorry I'm distracted.
And I hope you will forgive
that my mind can not be wrangled.
All my thoughts are in the sieve.

What I'll try to do tomorrow...
which I clearly can't do now...
is to give my full attention
to those who won't get it now!

Oooooo! It Was A Lovely Date Day..For The Most Part!

I haven't shared every one of hubby and my 'Date Day' with you. I don't wanna bore you with all of the 'virtual' mundane-ness of it. ^_^ Although, for us, it's a fun time every week...even if we're using our date day sleeping!...which we do sometimes! LOL
But yesterday was a pretty good 'Date Day'!! So I thought I'd share a bit of it with you...in pictures mostly. :-) ... It started out with this 'FABU' breakfast!!!...

It was an omelette with mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, bacon, sausage and eggs!!! Oh! Sooooo YUM!!!! :-) ... And I had cheesy grits on the side! :-) ... Don't call the doctor. I'm still alive!! ^_^ And happy!!...

Later we had a visit from some dear friends...carrying gifts! :-) All kinds of 'good-for-me' healthy food and stuff from 'Trader Joe's' (it's a kind of healthy shopping store and grocery...kinda.)...By the way, they also brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers!!! :-) But wouldn't you know it....it made me sneeze! LOL
Hubby has them in a vase somewhere......somewhere where he can enjoy them! :-] I'm gonna get pictures of them though, so I can enjoy them in a different way whenever I want! :-)

Then we headed out for our trip...to Spain! :-) But first we had to make a little stop at Roland Garros...in France!... :-) ...where my 'baby boy', Rafael Nadal, was going to be in a semi-final battle with Novak Djokovic at the French Open!!
It was such a GOOD match!!!!!...

And in the end, my 'baby boy' did it again!! :-) ...

    YAY!!! Congratulations Rafa!!! :-)

The second match was between David Ferrer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and it wasn't as much of a challenge. Jo-Wilfried was having a very 'off' day, and Ferrer ran over him like a train!!...Maybe next year Jo-Wilfried!

Today Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams play for the woman's championship!! :-) ... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! :-) I'll tell you who won tomorrow!...

(All of the above sports photos were shared from the Roland-Garros Facebook site.)

After the excursion to Roland Garros, hubby and I headed off to Spain! :-) Oh! We had such a good time! And we ate so good!!!! We had a personal chef who cooked us the most delicious Spanish inspired soup, with corn, potatoes, beef, and all kinds of delicious spices!...and then there was the bread!!! :-) Need I say more?!.....Okay, Y-U-M!!!!!:-)
After a tour, and some good music...we went to a concert of Stevie Wonder's in Spain!...

(MissVintageWedding)

So, for the most part, it was a very good day!...except for a memorial talk we went to for a friend of ours that died. :-( ...*sigh*... Now....on to today!! I hope it's a good one too!...For you also! :-)

Love Fills The Holes

Isn't  it wondrous,
this life that we live,
the holes we fill up
from the love that we give?

Even the hard times
make wonders abound,
because of the memories
of times safe and sound.

The good times, they come,
they fill us, they flow
and leave behind a smile,
like the hard rain's  rainbow.

So, its the love that keeps growing,
that adds wonder to life;
because no matter how peaceful,
or how full of strife,

Isn't  it wondrous,
this life that we live!
Cherish it always-
for the holes it will fill.

Finals!!...It's Almost Over Now!

If you're a tennis watcher I don't have to explain who this is in the header photo. But just in case you're not familiar...meet "Baby Boy"! ^_^ ...(All of the game photos are being shared from the Roland-Garros Facebook page.)... That's what I call him anyway. His given name is Rafael Nadal. He's a clay court specialist. In fact, his success on clay has earned him the nickname "The King of Clay".
He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time!...He's also the world #2!...but in my book he's #1. :-) His credentials are so vast that I risk boring you to tears trying to list them! LOL So instead I'll just say: Check out this Wikipedia link --> HERE <-- if you wanna see the details. :-)
Something that I can tell you about Rafael Nadal is that he's won a record six French Open titles, tied with Bjorn Borg,...who himself is also considered by many to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time!... But if Rafa wins this tournament he'll go into the record books ahead of Bjorn!! No little feat!!

Nadal's match with David Ferrer was first up yesterday...

To his credit, Ferrer played his heart out. He chased every flying tennis ball, came forward offensively, hung tough defensively, but alas...

...'Baby Boy' was just too tough for him...TOO TOUGH!! Nadal moved left with power, moved right with guile, moved forward with confidence, moved backwards without fear...At one point Ferrer hit a ball so great that it had Nadal scrambling and then on his bottom on the court!...

...but Nadal stuck out his racket and hit a return point from a seated position...on his bottom!...then, mid-point, he got up, hit another ball or two...and won the point!!! ^_^ ....As I said TOO TOUGH for Ferrer!
But Ferrer has seen this before. Both Nadal and Ferrer are Spanish professional tennis players...Rafa, from Majorca Spain. David, from Valencia. They've played each other many...many...many times before. But for this match Ferrer said: "... I didn’t have any chance...".

No shame on your part though, David, 'Baby Boy' was just on his game, as he has been this whole tournament!!...

The other match yesterday, to determine who was gonna be playing Rafael Nadal in the final, was between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic...I'd love to tell you that it was a 'dog fight' match...that it went down to the wire...that it was a nail-biter to the end....BUT it didn't turn out to be as competitive as I thought it was gonna be.
Roger put in a valiant effort, as he always does, but Novak was all over the court, in his face, on his case...EVERYWHERE!!!...

In the end all Roger could do was give a respectful wave to the crowd that supported him throughout the tournament, and leave the court with his head held high...

Djokovic had just been 'too good'!...

So meet Baby Boy's opponent for Sunday, Novak Djokovic...

I think that match really is gonna be a 'FIGHT'!!! ^_^

But let's not get ahead of ourselves! :-) There's a women's final being played today...Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani!...

You know where I'll be today...after taking care of my other important business today I mean!! ^_^

And then tonight...it's all gonna be about GREEN Y'all!!...it's the last game of the Basketball Playoffs before the Finals...it's game 7...between the Boston Celtics (green) and the Miami Heat!!!... O_O ...It's gonna be another nail-biter I think!!.....What?! O_O Did you think tennis was the only thing I was interested in lately?! LOL...

Well, if you thought that.....you would be wrong!! ^_^

^_^ I've got a bunch of crocheted things I've been working on to show you too....but it's all gotta wait!!! :-) Have a good weekend, Everybody!!

GREEN

Beans, asparagus,cabbage and frogs,
cucumbers, shamrocks, and moss on old logs.

Leaves, trees, and tangy mint jam,
Dr. Seuss stories of green eggs and ham.

Grasshoppers, apples, and new lawn-cut grass,
tropical waters and thick bottled glass.

 Pistachio, collards, and yes...Money too!
And don't forget envy. It's green when you stew!

Ecologically aware, reusably clean,
Or you don't know anything. They both are called "green".

A color, a feeling, a veggie, all fun!
And also my favorite color is one!
