      For anyone who saw my post yesterday, when I was not having a good day...or having a good whole weekend!...I'm sorry. That is all. :-) ... You'll be happy to know though, that while nothing much has changed...except my mental outlook...I'm feeling much better today!...***I think the lack of a headache today might have a bit to do with it though.***

      Anyway!!...I wanted to take a few minutes before the Super Bowl game comes on (Seattle Seahawks versus the New England Patriots, Baby!! ^_^) to show you a couple of cute items I saw on Etsy! :-) ... Starting with this cool and colorful clutch purse!!...

      What a creative and wonderful way to utilize Legos!! ^_^ It brought me right back to when I was a kid...stepping all over them on the floor when I got up to go the bathroom in the middle of the night!! LOL

      Okay...Super Bowl game time!! :-) Even though I live in New England, and I do like the New England Patriots, I wouldn't be mad if the Seattle Seahawks won either. As  the expression goes, 'I don't have a dog in this fight'! ^_^ My Dallas Cowboys went out and so did my focused interest! LOL

      Don't tell hubby though!...We always take sides when we watch, and he likes Seattle! O_O Go figure!! He lives in New England too!! LOL...So, the Patriots are my team for this one....for 'rooting sake'! ^_^

Well, that was me, and I am thankful...that was yesterday!

Yikes!...It's All Piling Up!!

     As you fellow bloggers have probably noticed, the regularity of my blogging has been staggered lately. I used to post every day...and hope to get back to that soon!...but because of my busy schedule this month I haven't had the kind of easy focus I usually have. In fact, it feels like everything is just piling up, and up, and up!! O_O

     I've been working custom orders, re-working and renewing a lot of items in my Etsy shop, trying to promote the slew of treasuries my crochet items have been in lately....8 or 9 just this past week!!! O_O...supporting my husband's increased activity in the ministry this month, trying to be encouraging to my mother-in-law, who is having a few challenges right now, and crocheting hats like a crazy woman!! ^_^

     I know something is left out of that list...hmmmmm...maybe I'll think of it before I'm done. But just with the list you've seen so far, isn't it clear that I'm being piled up on?! LOL That's why it's nice when I get a minute to sit down and smile. :-) And that's what I did when I saw this pretty treasury!...

     Over the next few days I'll share some of the other treasuries, and the great items that were chosen for them. But today I just wanted to catch up with you, and share my latest finished project! :-) ...

      Yes...yes!...I know the picture is awful!! :-))  But that's what happens when I don't have much time, and when my brain is trying to convince me that if I don't hurry up, things are gonna start piling up on me!!

     Thankfully I have a husband who likes to fix up my mistakes! LOL Although...I did try to fix up the photos. Look (below)!...
 

     No!...they don't look much better! :-)) But, if it's any consolation, I did slow myself down around lunchtime, to have a pile of my hubby's homemade turkey chowder! :-) ... Sorry...I didn't take any photos of it! ^_^ But I'm here to report...it was DELICIOUS!!! :-)

     And even though the lighting wasn't the best by the time hubby got a hold of my camera, he was able to get some much better shots of my new hat than I was able to!! :-) ...
 

     Even he is not perfect though!! LOL...
 

     This is a new pattern I just bought from a shop on Etsy...easycreations. It's a cowboy/cowgirl hat...even though my first attempt at it doesn't really look like a cowboy/cowgirl hat!! LOL...
 

     The yarn I used is soft, so the hat doesn't hold the indent in the top all that well...at least my first attempt didn't! ^_^ All of the 'bones' are there though, so I could starch it into the cowboy shape if I wanted to!...but I don't want to! ^_^ I like it just like it is!! :-) I even added a detachable flower brooch pin to the back of it, to make it even more like me!
     I'm starting a variegated 'angel hair' version of this hat next. We'll see if I can get it to look more 'cowboy-ee'. LOL But since the pattern seller says that as long as you buy the pattern you can make and sell as many of the hats as you want, I don't care whether it looks cowboy-ee or not. I'm gonna sell whatever comes out!! ^_^ I don't waste yarn. I just pile my created stuff up until somebody takes it off of my hands!! LOL This hat will be in the wuglyees shop for sale later today!! :-)

     Okay...I'm off to get some other stuff done while it's still light outside, and while half of my brain still has a mental hamster in there going around and around on a wheel!! LOL Have a good rest of the day, Everybody! :-)

I'd Rather Talk About Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

     There aren't very many days that I 'don't' want to talk...about SOMETHING! But, unfortunately, that's how I'm feeling this morning...I'm tired...tired of talking about terrible things happening to people, like what happened yesterday in Boston Massachusetts...a short distance from where we live.
      In case you haven't heard, there were two explosions at the 'Boston Marathon' yesterday. Two TERRIBLE explosions! :-( Three people are dead...including one eight year old little boy. :-( And there were many injuries, including severed limbs...*sigh*...It's the kind of time in the world that makes you wanna get in your bed and hide your head under the covers...but you don't have time, because you have to struggle every day to keep your mind in a good place...or else you 'really' wouldn't survive!!
     I'm thankful for a spiritual hope of better things in the future. Without that I'd 'be' under the covers...forever!!...But instead of going on and on with the details of this terrible incident, I'd rather talk about strawberries...
      

       ...Chocolate covered strawberries! :-] 'MY' chocolate covered strawberries!!...Forgive me for moving on...but I HAVE to!...I HAVE TO!!!

       Hubby and I were minding our own business...just hanging around...talking...playing chess...crocheting..watching reruns of television shows we missed last week...when the doorbell rung. O_O We weren't expecting visitors. And if you had seen how we were dressed, there would be no question that we weren't expecting visitors!! LOL
       It was a delivery man from a company called "Edible Arrangements"! :-)     
 

    Neither one of us had ever heard of this company before. And obviously, considering that the buzz of the door bell  was a surprise, we hadn't ordered anything! But the accompanying card told the whole story...We are loved!! :-)
      Some friends of ours just wanted to give us a surprise!! :-) ... I'm telling you, people, if you have to live in a world where something bad is happening to somebody every day, and it's a struggle to keep yourself in a good mood, it's a blessing to have good friends who take seriously their responsibility to care for the people they love!!...We were so giddy!! :-)) ...
    

    I was even giddier after I bit into one of the HUGE chocolate covered strawberries!!...

      It was delicious!!! :-) 

      We wrote them a card immediately, and hubby left to mail it, and to pick up a couple of items from the store. I continued to look at the rerun of "Property Wars"...Then hubby called back home... :-( ...He heard about the explosions in Boston and wanted me to turn to the channel where they were talking about it, so that we could see what had happened.
      Unfortunately, it was on EVERY channel!! :-( ... There went all of our giddiness about fresh fruit bouquets...
 

     ...and the new company we now knew about, where we could send gift baskets to other friends...

      The rest of the night was spent getting details of what happened, talking to loved ones...worrying about other loved ones who may, or may not, have been in the area...and we still don't know as of this morning :-(...because the Boston Marathon is a big deal in Boston this time of year. The streets overflow with people. *sigh*
      I could go on and on, and tell you how physically tired, and mentally exhausted, I am this morning, but....I'd rather talk about chocolate covered strawberries!...Chocolate doesn't agree with hubby, so they're all mine! I've only eaten one so far. I may eat one a day until all six are gone. :-) It'll give me something to smile about every day for a while.

     I think I'm gonna need it!...Hubby is getting ingredients together to make him a banana pudding. :-) Between you and I...after tasting these strawberries...he's getting the 'short straw' of this deal!! LOL

Spring Is About To Fall Backwards Around Here!

       I cannot believe that 9 a.m. caught and passed me again!! Grrrr! I was determined to start today off right. You know, early in the day, early in the week. But nooooooo! Once again here it is almost 10 a.m. and my blog still isn't up yet!!

       But guess who is up?!...Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal. That's who! ^_^ They've been frolicking in the backyard all morning!...Well, they better enjoy it! Things are about to change! O_O We're due to get snow....lots of snow!...starting tonight! It could be as much as six inches!! :-( After finally being able to see the actual lawn in the backyard for a few days too!

      Oh Well...so Spring hasn't totally SPRUNG yet! LOL In fact, you could almost say that Spring is doing a nose-dive into the pool of backwardness!! ^_^ But I'm not gonna be 'mad at it'! In fact, I'm hoping it turns out to be a good thing...for 'ME'! :-]

      "What do you mean?" you ask!...Well, my allergies are ridiculous right now!! I'm sneezing, wheezing, and dripping! My sinuses are taking turns being clear...and then stuffed....the left one...and then the right one...ALL DAY LONG!! UGH! The only time I get some relief is when I'm sleeping with the C-Pap machine on! I think the forced pressure of the air is keeping my sinuses clear...Too bad I can't have it on 24/7!! ^_^

     If I did that though, my throat would be even more sore than it is now...with the constant post nasal drip....{Isn't this a fun conversation we're having? ^_^ Oh, Joy!!}...because I'd have to be screaming at everybody, just to be heard! LOL As it is right now, I kiss hubby goodnight, put my mask on, and say: "Can I have a little more cover?!...."What?" he says. I repeat it umpteen thousand times!!

       He finally says: "okay", and turns over to go to sleep...without me getting any more cover! LOL In the morning he says: "I just got tired of asking you 'What?' and decided I'd find out in the morning." ^_^ ... So here's hoping the big snow brings the "BIG" allergy relief!!

      Between now and the end of the snow storm I'll be doing some more crocheting! I'm trying to keep my fingers limber enough to do all of the boutonniere making I need to do. (I placed a big order yesterday and I need to replace some boutonnieres.)...I'm also gonna put a couple more brooch pins in the shop for the ladies! :-] I don't wanna leave my girls out! :-)

      There's some other family stuff going on too. If I can figure out how to discuss it without being an old bitter angry crab...I'll tell you about it tomorrow...maybe. If I can't figure out how to do that...you'll never hear about it! LOL I try so hard to keep it positive, but sometimes......sometimes!!!!!! Grrrrr! Thankfully hubby lightens the mood for me...or distracts me...so I can deal with it most of the time.

'Stream Of Consciousness' Morning!

       I love it when artists depict exactly what I'm thinking and feeling, without even knowing that they're depicting what I'm thinking and feeling! ^_^ And this artist was right 'on it' this morning!...I woke up and wanted to stick my nose out the door and see what 'THIS' day was gonna bring!

      Yesterday we had cold, a wind chill factor, and wind!.....Today......after sticking the chicken beak out.....we have cold, a wind chill factor (of 1!!! Ugh!), and NO wind!....Hmmmm...I see a kind of pattern developing here! LOL

     Since I don't want to turn into a bitter weather forecaster, I've decided to put a positive spin on the morning! :-) ...

     Yum!!...My green tea with lemon is tasting so good this morning!!...Maybe it's because I know I can't get a cup of coffee! LOL Well, I 'could' get a cup, but I'd have to send my hubby out into the eye of 'The Hawk'!! ^_^

      The truth is that he 'is' gonna have to go out there...just not right now! ^_^ One of my custom orders is requiring some colors I don't have in the house right now...Blueberry! :-)  He's my 'runner'!! LOL 

       I'm gonna be making one of my ribbed scarves for a customer. She wants it in alternating colors of 'country blue' and 'blueberry'. I'm actually looking forward to it because I haven't made anything but flower boutonnieres and brooches for a while! :-) ... I love that the customer did a whole image for me, based on the similar scarf that's now in the shop (Wuglyees)...

       :-) I love my customers!!

      Before I do the scarf though, I have some boutonnieres to do....a few! I have to replace the pink and purple ones that just sold, and a couple of other colors for repeat customers to have access to...Don't I sound all entrepreneurial?!! ^_^

      Look at my fingernails!!! O_O How do I end up with 9 fingernails looking just fine, and then there's always that 'wonky' renegade fingernail that wants to be different....the one that wants to explore the world of raggedy?!! LOL...Oh well, I guess that's just how 'my' morning is going!! ^_^...

Teach Me Something Positive!

      :-( ... I almost didn't know where to go with today's post. I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to 'make it positive'. I mean, where is the 'positive' when a gunman goes into a small town elementary school and shoots and kills 20 children and 6 adults, after already killing their own mother shortly before that?! :-(

     Where is the 'positive' when the parents of the dead children have to be told that their tiny elementary school age children will no longer be coming home?...Where is the 'positive' that their siblings will no longer be able to have them to play with?!...Where is the 'positive' that the parents of these slain children, whose little bodies have lain on the floor of a cold schoolhouse all night, can't go into the schoolhouse where they last saw them alive, and hug them, cry, and whisper their goodbyes in their ears, because they're little bodies are now a part of a criminal investigation and cannot be moved until all of the evidence has been examined and photographed?! ;'_'; 

       The pain that the parents and the small community of Newtown Connecticut must be dealing with right now is almost unimaginable!!...I'm not a parent, but even I know that this would be extremely, almost unimaginably hard, to bear! :-( And this would be true even though, as a Bible student and teacher myself, I understand why things like this happen in the world, and I know what happens to those who die...Still! :-(

       So what I decided to do with today's post was to 'find' the positive! And frankly, it wasn't that hard...because every news report talked about the doctors and nurses who prepared themselves to treat the 'dozens' of people that would probably be sent to their hospital. They were ready....and willing!...to do whatever was necessary to be of help and support!...But only 3 people came. :-( ... That's when they knew that it was gonna be BAD!! :-( And they were soooooo sad.

 Then there were the stories, one after the other, about the teachers!...

      The teachers inside the school, when the gunshots began to ring out, went into 'schoolteacher/momma/protector' mode! They reassured the kids, huddled them in closets, barricaded them in rooms, read books to them, told stories, answered questions, etc....whatever was necessary to keep their children safe and unafraid...Some of them were found doing this to their deaths! ;'_';

    I today wanna say a big 'Positive' HOORAY to teachers!!!!! You make all of us smile with your dedication! You make us proud with your determination!....{one teacher, who was locked in the room with her kids, determined to keep them safe, made a police officer prove who he was before he was allowed to come in!!! :-)}...You make us happy to know that there is still...in a world that harbors soooooo much bad!...people who will put themselves in the fray for others!

     Frankly, I know LOTS of people like this.....who are also teachers! :-) "I'm happy to know you, and happy to be a part of your family"! :-]

      If we think hard enough today, we can remember the teachers in our own lives who did things...selfless things...to make our lives easier, better. Let's find a way to smile about the job they did...and continue to do every day! Let's not let what one lone gunman did make us so unhappy that we can't remember the good. Because there's so much good!!! Look at the teachers! :-]
