It's Gonna Be A Colorful Wednesday!

      I'm not gonna do a whole lot of talking today. I've got a full schedule ahead, which includes some phone calls, maybe a letter or two written, and an appointment with a woman who is doing an assessment of my health needs to see what other services I can get!

      Add to that some crocheting, breakfast, laundry, reading, etc....*Phew!*...It's gonna be a long day!...That's why I wanted to add some color to it! Color always puts me in a good mood! :-)

       I just hope that the color is enough to keep me going! After being questioned within an inch of my life...I'm sure!...and getting tired of talking...*Okay, that's laughable!* ^_^...I'm hoping I still have some good mood and colorful personality left!!

      Add to that all of the reports of snow and sleet heading our way over the next few days...Oh Yeah!...I'm gonna need some COLOR!!! ^_^ ... I may have to crochet some more of my own! I started with these two boutonnieres already last night!...

        This one is peach and silver...

      I heard that the peach and silver color combination was one of the 'to do' colors for weddings this year...O_O ... After finishing this one all I have to say is...to each his own!
       I much prefer the chocolate brown, green and blue one I did! ^_^ ...

        After a few better pictures of the silver and peach boutonniere, I hope to put both of these in the Wuglyees shop later today....MUCH later! Well, whatever reason for them,
they put a smile upon your face,
that no Facebook, Tweet, or typing
ever, ever, will replace!

I hope they never go out of style,
and keep the mailman's job secure;
because the smell of a written letter,
like hugs and kisses, should endure.

       Before I get started with today's post, I'd like to say a big "Welcome!" to Hanna's new baby (bouffe e bambini blog)!...and a big "Hello!" to Jo's new baby, ( A cup of Jo blog)! {She shared the sonogram of it yesterday, and a cute story about the way the baby looks that made me tear up. :-)}...And a big "Congratulations!" to Bonnie, of Going Home to Roost blog!...She just announced yesterday that she's pregnant with her first little one!! :-) ... It looks like it's babies, babies, everywhere all of a sudden!! ^_^

     In fact, today's post was inspired by Bonnie, because of the cute way she announced her pregnancy to her family. You can read all about it in the post she did HERE...Or you can read about it in the bottom of the cup! ^_^...

     I suggest you go and get the whole story from her! LOL...Apparently inspiring me to do this post wasn't the only thing her announcement inspired! It may have also inspired a new line of cups at kungfuclay!...A line of handmade porcelain cups with personalized messages in the bottom! :-)

      What a great idea, right?! :-) ... My mind was reeling over the things I could say...WORDS!!...in the bottom of a cup! :-) ... "Now What?"..."Shall We Go For Two?!"..."That's It!"..."Now...Do The Dishes!"..."Hi, Friend!"..."I Love Me!" ^_^ I could be here all day, people! ^_^ I won't though. I 'can't' be here all day! I've got stuff and things to do today!!! :-)) 

        Before I take off though, I'd like to show you my latest colorful baby!...It's a crochet boutonniere...of course! ^_^

      I made it as a replacement for the tiny brooch pin I sold in my Wuglyees shop a couple of days ago...

     Not a bad replacement, right?!...I have my mind on making a black and white one like this, alternating the colors, or a shades of blue one. We'll see what transpires! ^_^

National Breakfast Week...And Other Stuff!

     Forget the fact that it's national breakfast week....Yeah, Really, it is! :-) ...and forget the fact that I woke up hungry again....Look at this photo in the header! It's gorgeous!!! It's simple and yet thought-provoking...like hmmmmm, what room is this, with all of that gorgeous light?, and is that all they're having for breakfast?! ^_^ 

     It's not what I intended to talk about this morning, but I saw the photo after I heard on the morning news that this is 'National Breakfast Week'......and off my brain went! ^_^ I mean, I've been talking about pancakes and waffles for weeks and days!...and I've also shared photos of my oatmeal and peaches, bacon and eggs, etc. And did I say I've been talking about and sharing photos of my pancakes?...Blueberry pancakes?! ^_^

     So, now I'm wondering...what kind of breakfast eater are YOU?!... O_O ... Me?!...I'm a leisurely eater. Breakfast can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half!...or more, if I'm crocheting something in between! ^_^ I mean, take a bite...sip some tea...wash your hands...crochet a little...etc, repeat!...What's the hurry! :-)

     I'm still eating my breakfast right now from this morning! :-) Only, I'm typing in between instead of crocheting! :-)) ...One bite at a time on my scrambled eggs and ham...

     ...and oatmeal, peaches and cinnamon! YUM! :-) ...
 

     That could be why doing this post is taking so long! O_O...Sorry...Anyway!...I know that not everybody is like me when it comes to breakfast! Some people like to grab a cuppa...tea, hot cocoa, apple cider, or coffee!...and go, go ,go!!...

    They have busy lives and don't have time to hang around eating and sipping 'mosely' (slowly) on a cup of coffee or tea! ^_^ They've got things to do and places to be, and eating is something they can do on the run, while doing their things or going where they need to be!...Is that YOU?!...Are you an on the run, 'sippy-cup-with-a-close-spout, toting-a-breakfast-burrito' kind of breakfast eater?!...
       ...Or are you, like my husband, a 'grazer'...you know, you eat whenever the feeling hits you, or whenever you happen to be in the kitchen or somewhere that they have food! ^_^ ...

         I'm surprised that my hubby isn't bigger than he is, considering how 'much' he likes to graze! His 'saving grace' though is probably the fact that most of the time what we have in the house to graze on is 'grazably good' food! ^_^ Some nuts...an apple...a few Cheerios...or some 'trail mix'! :-) ... Or else leftovers! And our leftovers are usually not really bad stuff...We had leftover pizza for dinner last night that was full of fresh bell pepper and onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes!....Yes, it had sausage and pepperoni on it too, :-)) but certainly not enough to put anybody in the danger zone!...Places are getting too 'stingy' with the meats these days to put anybody in the danger zone!! O_O

      Anyway, that's all I have to say about breakfast for today...especially considering it's not what I was gonna talk about anyway! ^_^ I still would like to know your thoughts on it though, as to what kind of breakfast eater YOU are! :-]

     For now I'm gonna share a couple of the things I found cute and interesting...and 'call it a day'! ^_^ ...

The Curing Of The Anti-Waffle Snob!

     Hubby and I had a conversation this morning about waffles, and I realized...I'm an anti-waffle snob!!!...Then my mind did what my mind does on occasion, it went to a pretend 'Anti-Waffles Anonymous' meeting. LOL..."Hello. My name is Poetesswug...and I'm an anti-waffle snob"...*hanging my head*..."No, Poetesswug is not my 'real name'! I'm too embarrassed to use my real name here!" ^_^
     Okay, enough silliness...for the moment! ^_^ I've got to get to the bottom of why I don't like waffles!...Well, 'don't like' is kinda strong, because after all, except for the little craters, it's just a pancake, right?!...RIGHT?!!! O_O Help me out here!...At least, that was hubby's argument this morning!
      My aversion to waffles...and maybe 'aversion' is too strong too!...started when I was younger. Somebody...who shall remain nameless. Grrrr!...fed me waffles...Cold waffles. And they did it more than once! In fact, to the point where I was sure that waffles could never stay warm while you're eating them!

       Hubby says that's not true. And he talks about how waffles are the perfect blend of soft and crunchy, and how the syrup stays on them because of the grooves, and how every bite is a party in your mouth! LOL...That's 'HIS' story!! ^_^

      I'm not buying it! ^_^ But I, as the ultimate anti-waffle snob, and creator of the 'Pancake Sunday' in our house, deserve to give his theory at least an 'old girl' try! So, that's what I plan to do...but not today! ^_^
        First of all, we don't own a waffle griddle....excuse me...waffle iron!...*I was corrected by my hubby. ^_^ ...Waffle iron sounds to me like something you should use to make waves in your hair, but WHATEVER!! LOL*...And second of all, we have pancakes already on the agenda for this morning! :-)

     If you look throughout today's post though, you'll see that I'm trying to stamp down the 'snob-dom'! I'm looking at waffles anew in all kinds of positive ways! :-] ...        This morning I'm gonna enjoy some blueberry pancakes, and maybe next Sunday....it'll be 'Waffle Sunday'! :-) ... I tell you what though, if those waffles are cold......!!!! O_O I won't think about that for now. I'm an anti-waffle snob, but I'm not a negative thinker! LOL...Have a good rest of the weekend, Everybody!! :-)

Waffle Snob?!

I love the way the pancake runs
right off the side and down my plate!
But on a waffle it just sits
like sticky blocks in a crate!

I love the way a pancake looks,
like it's soft to the touch.
But that thing with lumpy grooves?...
I mean a waffle, not so much!

I like the way a pancake
almost melts in your mouth!
But a trip across my tastebud with a waffle?
...heading south!

Buttering a waffle
 is like corn on the cob.
The ears are perked up,
but it's a messy, slow moving job!

One day I'm sure I'll like 'em,

     Now that my other Saturday chores are done, I can spend a few minutes telling you what I did recently!...I cleaned up my Twitter account! :-) I''m pretty happy about it too! Now I don't have to get that pit in my stomach when I pop over there to see what's going on...because the only thing that's going on is what I WANT to be going on! ^_^

     When I say 'clean up' my Twitter account I'm talking about deleting all of the people I had been following that I didn't even know why I was still following them!...And I'm embarrassed to say...there were thousands!!...*hanging my head*

       I was a 'tweeting' and 'following' fool!! ^_^ But as a bit of an explanation, when I first started Twitter I was just trying to put my Etsy shop items out there...anywhere!...and as fast as I could!! I needed traffic!! LOL

       Then I found that if I 'tweeted' an item from my shop, other Etsy shop owners would 'retweet' them to all of their followers...Then, as a 'Thank You', I'd 'retweet' an item from their shop! A kind of...*southern reference coming. Get ready!! ^_^*...'you pat my dog, I scratch your cat' kinda thing! ^_^

       Then I realized one day that Etsy shop owners were kind of a force to be 'reckoned' with in this 'tweeting Twitter' thing! That if we banned together and 'tweeted' and 'retweeted' each other's items, we could get our items seen by a LOT of people!! :-]

      That's when my trouble started, because I then started to follow almost every Etsy shop known to man!!...or at least every shop in the social networking forum! :-)) ... I tweeted soaps, hats, paintings, photographs, handmade this and homemade that, crocheted, knitted, tatted, looped, linked, and lollypopped!!! LOL

      Then last year I WOKE UP!!! LOL That's when I realized that I was 'tweeting' to only other Etsy people...Etsy people who weren't interested in buying stuff. They were interested in selling THEIR stuff...just like I was interested in selling mine!! LOL

      So I started tweeting less and less and less. I still 'tweeted' items from my shop every once in a while, but I wasn't 'retweeting' other people's items as much, because I didn't have time to check out their shop items as I had in the past...And besides, there were SOOOOO MANY!!! I didn't know where to start...or who to start with!! O_O

       Cut to...Heather, of NiftyKnits blog. She did a post entitled "Twitter Spring Cleaning" where she talked about how she cleaned up her Twitter account! O_O My 'hmmmmmmm' meter went off....and so did I!! :-) ... I started the very next day to delete any and all people that I didn't want on my page...thousands of people!!

        I only left the people I have true interaction with. Ones whose shops I keep an eye on, and who I interact with on a regular basis....Well, plus a few famous people that I keep an eye on for one reason or the other. :-)

      The last couple of days it has been a joy to go over to Twitter and actually see what's going on, and WHO is going on!! LOL I'm back to keeping up with the news, 'tweeting' and 'retweeting' stuff, and even talking!! ^_^ You know how much I like to do that!!

       I'm gonna be much more discerning now about who I follow...now that my number is down into the low hundreds, instead of thousands!...That doesn't mean that I get upset that people follow me...no!...It just means that if I follow you back it's because I WANT to. Not because I felt obligated to, or had some ulterior motive to! ^_^ ...

It's Time To Wake Up And Smell The Silver Flower?!

     No, these aren't silver flowers! They're just beautifully painted flowers! :-) You know I do like a pretty flower, right?! ^_^ These are so beautiful that I started sneezing as soon as I saw them!! ^_^ Okay...the painted flowers weren't the reason I was sneezing. I'm sneezing because I think my allergies are starting back up again very early this year....*sigh* :-(

     I've noticed that for a few mornings now I've woke up very congested. It's become a morning ritual for me to drink a bottle of water and then spend a half an hour blowing my nose clear!...*shaking my head*...And I thought this year was gonna be better with my allergies because of all of the tons of snow!! I was sure it would kill off any leftover allergens....WRONG! 

     Oh Well...another year of less fresh flowers in the house! :-( ... But I'll always have some flowers in my house anyway! :-) I have crocheted flowers!!...Speaking of which, I told you yesterday about my silver lame' flower I was crocheting. It was finished, and it went into the Wuglyees shop already too! :-) ...

     I have to admit...it wasn't the easiest flower I've ever made! The lame' is nowhere as soft as my DMC cotton thread! It was slow going...

     But it's done! :-) ... And hubby really likes it! I even got blueberry pancakes for making it!! :-) ...

            .... Okay! The blueberry pancakes weren't because of my silver lame' flower being done. :-)) The blueberry pancakes were because we wanted to use, and eat, the blueberries my girlfriend gave us before they went bad!... ^_^...and I wasn't in the mood for chewing on bits of blueberry in a blueberry 'smoothie'! 

      Let me just say that 'Pancake Sunday' is not gonna live up to these 'babies' unless I get some fruit in 'em! YUM!!! :-]

      Okay, not much else to talk about today. I've got a schedule 'yay' long...including a package I have to ship this morning, and 6 boutonnieres with backings waiting to be applied!...and time is 'too' short!!...I'm gonna go and do that now....Tomorrow I'll tell you about what I've been doing on Twitter! :-] ...Have a good day, Everybody!!

 Thankful Thursday

The week is almost over.
That's one thing I'm thankful for.
Let me think about it,
'cuz there must be plenty more.

I'm thankful on this Thursday,
that I have some things to do,

'cuz my brain can sure waste time

when there is nothing there to chew!

I'm thankful that there's projects
every morning I can plan.

And I'm thankful for my crocheting,

and pancake making man.

I'm thankful for new customers,
and custom orders too.
And I'm thankful for a sip of tea,
and time to spend with you.

I'm thankful on this Thursday
to appreciate my gift;
And appreciate other people's,
and receive a little lift!

Yes, I'm thankful on this Thursday.
Also thankful, let me say,
that my talking is not endless.
