It's Thursday!...Abstract Photos Of Birds Day!! :-]

      Hello 'White Stuff' lovers! :-) If you had been here when I opened the bedroom blinds this morning, I'm sure you would have shrieked with joy! :-] We got some of the 'white stuff' overnight. Not much!...but enough to bring a smile and a little awed sigh from 'white stuff' lovers everywhere, I'm sure. ^_^
       I have to admit...I did a little shriek of joy myself! ^_^ But not because of the blinding 'white stuff'! It was because of the vision of my suet feeder swinging and moving around with a....BIRD!...on it! :-) ...
 

      And before you yell at me for trying to pull off the above photos as actual photos of birds...Ha! Ha!...let me add a disclaimer here!...I didn't take the photos!!! ^_^ Oh No! I'm not taking credit for these!!! LOL
      These 'abstract photos'...as he calls them...were the product of an excited, not quite fully awake, no eyeglass wearing, husband!...who shall remain nameless. But I think you know who I mean!! :-))
      I have been complaining for days about the fact that we haven't gotten NOT ONE bird to the feeder since we hung it!!...and then this morning!... O_O ...it's as if someone hung a BIRDS, THIS WAY, Birdie 'Holiday Inn', sign on the suet!!! ... Every bird in the eastern seaboard is here!!!! O_O I'm not kidding!!!...If you can look through the abstraction of the photos below, you'll see what I mean!....***as more birds are dancing and flitting and flying outside the window right now as I'm typing this!!*** :-)
 

      And yes!...that 'IS' a cardinal!!! :-) ...
 

      Actually there were THREE cardinals!!!...They all showed up together!!!!! :-) Two males, and one female!...Shocking!!!!...

      Because I know it's so 'abstract' that you can't really tell...I'll tell you!...the above 'abstract photo' of a bird...is a female cardinal! :-) The males were dropping food down to the ground and she was gong up and down picking it up from there!! :-) ... My type of girl!! LOL...
 

       Other birds waited, and took turns coming, in between the cardinal's arrivals and departures. :-) ... This led to an epiphany for my husband as to why people use the expression 'pecking order' Ha! Ha!...He said it without realizing it..."WOW! It's as if they have a pecking order." O_O ...And then he got that look on his face that people get when they've reached a definite moment of clarity...Then he said: "Ohhhhhhh! That's where that expression comes from...Pecking Order!!!!!!!" ^_^
      For about the next 15 minutes, he was at one with the birds out the window. ^_^ I knew there would be no reason for me to try to talk to him about what our schedules are today, or breakfast, or the fact that he needed to put some clothes on, or nothing!! LOL...Anyway, birds have seen men standing in windows with pajama bottoms and shirtless before, right?! ^_^ ..

     It made me wonder who was more fascinated with whom...when the cardinal started checking out our window!! LOL...
 

      Oh Well, onward to Thursday, People!! ^_^ And have a good one!! :-)

All My Plans Unfurled

With all my plans unfurled today,
and nothing urgent pressing me,
I might crochet another scarf
or have a steeping cup of tea.

I might watch an old movie,
or take a nap, just for a minute.
Or I might take out a book to read,
or jot a few nice words down in it.

When you don't have any children,
and no job to do from home.
You can stay in your pajamas,
and have hair you don't have to comb.

Yes, with all my plans unfurled,
there could be lots that I could do.
It's always true...I could be busy,
but kinda nice I don't 'have to'!

It's Time To Warm Up Around Here! :-)

      Yes, I know you've seen these mug sweaters before, but considering how cold it is outside...almost too cold to hold onto a cup of tea!...I thought it was time to show you these warm 'babies' again!

      In fact, I wish I could show you every warm thing in t he world today! ^_^ But who has the time for that kind of folderol?!...Not me! I've got things to do!!...crocheting, talking, typing with my sore hand...OUCH!...and napping! ^_^

      So, let's talk about the weather, shall we?!...Brrrrr!...It's 20 degrees fahrenheit here in Massachusetts right now!...That's below freezing, for those of you who haven't had your third cup of coffee yet, and are wondering what this silly 'Wug' woman is talking about! LOL

I Wish I Could Wave Off The Time

I wish I could wave off the time
the way you wave off a fly about to land.
Just 'poo poo' appointments I'm dreading
with a flick and a wave of the hand.

If only the time went unnoticed,
like 'extras' on some movie set.
One shot it's as if they were coming,
the next shot they've not gotten there yet.

I'm dreading the phone calls and chatting,
as if time has somehow just stood still.
I wish I could wave off the ticking,
and hours of quiet to fill.

I know soon the day will be over.
The consciousness is in this rhyme.
Still I'm dreading the fact that it's coming,
and I wish I could wave off the time.

"I Have No Birds!...Or Do I?!"

      I've been complaining to my hubby for days about how we still aren't getting any winter birds to the suet feeder...Yes! I know that to most people there's much more interesting things to talk about in the world! :-)) But I have 'MY' backyard world to worry about!! LOL
      As I was saying! :-)) ... I've been complaining about how, even though it's cold, and the suet has been hanging there for days and days, there's not one bird coming to the feeder! O_O Where are they this year?!...What?...do they have some pressing engagement somewhere?!...Is my meal so 'low class' that they can't tear themselves away from some old frozen berry bush around the way or something?! Humpf!
      Whatever the case, my hubby decided that if I couldn't have real birds to keep me company, he'd give me some artificial...sorta...birds to be beside me every day!...in the way of a 'mouse'. ^_^ That sounds so funny!...A bird pal that's actually a mouse! LOL

      Hubby brought this home yesterday. My computer mouse was giving me all kinds of problems. So instead of buying me the exact same one, he bought me one with birds! ^_^ ...
 

      I didn't even know they made mice with soft powder blue color...Never mind with birds and flowers on them!! :-)
 

      Now I can look at birds all day if I want to! ^_^ And touch them too! LoL...

      I'll just let the backyard birds come looking for me now!!...And let them try to figure out why I'm not pining out the window every waking minute looking for their elusive selves!! Humpf! LOL
 

    Anyway!...why do I need to look at birds when I have about a half an inch of snow to look at?! ^_^
 

      Yep! That's all we got!! :-) In fact, it may not be a 'whole' half an inch! They're calling it a 'dusting'!...It didn't even have the decency to cover the whole ground in the backyard!! ^_^

      You know I'm joking, right?! ^_^ I think this 'dusting' was PLENTY! Thank you very much!!! LOL (All due respect to skiers and 'white stuff' lovers everywhere! LOL)
 

      Oooo! O_O I just saw a bird!!!!...and it's actually starting to snow!! O_O ... Oh well!...To be continued, I guess! LOL...

      I'm gonna spend the day with hubby, chatting and sipping on hot stuff, while looking at occasional 'white stuff'. ^_^ And I'm gonna do some crocheting too!...Speaking of which, I got a sale last night! YAY! :-) I have to get it off to the post office too...before more than a 'dusting' hits the ground and the roads get to slippery to drive on! O_O Ugh!..."I am Poetesswug, and I am NOT a fan of the white stuff!!...just needed to say!"

Snow...And Owls....And Snow Owls....And Crochet!!

            You'll have to bear with me a bit this morning. My mind...you know...that old thing!...is all over the place. :-] It's trying to decipher aches and pains...*What is that?!...Where is that coming from?!...OUCH!!!*...and communicate with a snow-trapped husband...*NOT FUN!*...He really needs something to do with himself!!!! LOL...and schedule crochet time around a still slightly lame left hand! But...WILL DO!! ^_^ 

      And it all starts with the white stuff!...yes, snow....But not lots of it. Just enough to fall to the ground, along with some rain, be wet...and freeze! You know, just enough to cause problems!

      Me?!...I'm gonna find a positive way for my brain to decipher it. So, here goes!....Snow!.............Owls in the snow!...

      Hmmmm....flowers with owls under them....Wait!!....How about crocheted flowers with owls under them?!! ^_^ ... Ha! Ha!...Let me guess. You saw that coming a mile away, right?!
      
      Now, to put the story completely together...my friend Cindy (of CinLynnBoutique) has some cute beaded owl jewelry in her shop right now. She said today was the last chance to get them...and I flew over there and bought me some...before they disappeared!! ^_^ or, as they say, flew the coop! ^_^ ...
 

      I bought these (above)...And I almost got these (below)...because I love the salmon orange color...

      But nope!...the red and black were more up my alley. :-) 

       I wanted to get her permission first before I bought them though, because I wanna deconstruct them, and make crochet flower and owl beaded necklaces out of them!! ^_^ She's such a great friend. She said YES!!...

      They're great AS IS too!!...It's just that I have a particular vision for these 'babies'!! ^_^ So, stay tuned for them in my shop soon!...In fact, I may start the flowers even before my owls get here...EXCITING!! ^_^ I haven't made any necklaces for a while!
      
      I also hadn't listed any scarves. But I did yesterday. And I listed another one in my Wuglyees shop this morning! :-) I call it my 'Winter Peacock' scarf! :-) ...

      There's more where these came from too! ^_^ I'll try to list the others today...we'll see how it goes!...with all of the aches and pains, and white stuff, and communicating...sorta, kinda...with my hubby! ^_^ ...*His communicating is all about shredding stuff, and organizing stuff, and DOING SOMETHING!!!!....Ugh! The cooped up mind is a terrible thing to waste!! LOL...By afternoon I'll mellow him out though...make no mistake!!! ^_^*

TRAPPED! Another snow storm!
Will this "STUFF" never end?!
We've be wolloped, punched, and socked,
and now?! Another one on the chin!

'Adding insult to the injury',
there will be an inch of ice!
I guess winter thought we needed
just a little 'SCARY' spice!

Do I sound bitter? Sick of it?
About to lose my snowed-in mind?!
Well, that would be correct!
That is, the brain cells I can find!

TRAPPED! Sick of snow,

Sunday 'Take-It-Easy-And-Look-Around' Time!

      Sitting here sipping on a cup of hot chocolate, and staring into the backyard at the slightly snow-covered ground, and the partially-eaten bird suet, while watching the weather man, out of the corner of my eye, talk about the snow and freezing rain that's on the way later today, I contemplate what this day will bring.

      Winter doesn't officially come until the 21st of the month, but, oh yeah, it's starting to feel like winter!...I'm finding it harder and harder to get enough light through the windows to take decent pictures, and I'm craving soup, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate. :-)

      It's funny how a 'time-of-year' can change the way you look at the world, but winter does that. It makes you wanna 'hunker-down'. :-) Instead of wanting to 'Go!'...you wanna 'Stay Put!' Instead of craving sun and beaches, you crave 'comfort food' and warm blankets....Or, at least, that's what it does to me! ^_^

      It also makes me more aware of music....soft music. Creativity. Well-spoken words. Quiet. And nature....Is that why these particular items caught my attention in my Etsy scroll this morning?!.....Who knows! :-) That could just be the randomness of my brain! LOL But whatever!!...They caught my eye just the same! ^_^

       I can also tell you that this time of year  has made me give a second look to my scarves that I've made! I was thinking of deleting them from my shop all together, but I found some yesterday that are all nicely packed and ready to ship...but they were never listed in my shop!! O_O I had them ready, but needed to take photos of them...and forgot!! O_O

      They are so soft and nice! I just can't leave them in my house! So I've decided to list them in the shop. I'm gonna ask a reasonable price for them. Enough to cover the shipping to...wherever! And if they sell I'll give thought to putting the others that are in my 'expired' list back in the shop too.

      I took pictures of the six or so scarves that I found. I put one online in my Wuglyees Etsy shop yesterday. It's a gray and white alpaca and Caron Simply Soft yarn scarf...

      I almost wasn't able to get it listed...My hubby kept talking about how 'NICE!' it was...and how 'NICE' it would look with one of his suits! ^_^ I've already made him all kinds of scarves. He's even given one of them away, because a relative 'fell-in-love' with it and begged it away from him! LOL But if it doesn't sell in the shop, I'll give it to him anyway. :-) He's certainly earned it by way of much cooking and back rubs. ^_^

      I'm not sure if I'll list the other scarves today or not. I'm all about taking it easy right now. It's quiet. There's a little ground snow. Birds are pecking at the suet. The smell of muffins and ham are in the air. All of my Watchtower, for the meeting, has been studied. And I'm mulling over in my mind the conversations I've had with my sister and my father....Ahhhhh! Sunday. :-) ... Have a good one, Everybody. ♥

Yes, I knew you'd finally get here.
