Soooooooo...He Passed The Test!...And I Went With The Flower!

       Woohoo!!...There were two things on my mind on my 'yawn-fest' of a blog post yesterday. One thing was that my husband was taking a special driving test, in order to get a license to drive a special kind of bus or van. He 'crammed' for it all weekend! And today...HE PASSED IT!! :-) Again I say: Woohoo!! ^_^
        I'm so excited for him!...although it's gonna mean that he's not here at home with me as much as before. :-( Hey!...Somebody's gotta work around here!! I need to be kept in the ice cream, grits, and potatoes that I've become accustomed to!!Ha! Ha!

     I've also become accustomed to crocheting my brains out! So, I guess yarn would also be on the list of things we might be able to afford soon! :-) Although, I'm not doing so badly finding projects to make, using the yarn I still have around here! ^_^ Case in point, remember the 100% cotton red tote bag I was trying to decide whether to attach a ribbon or a flower to?...

      I decided to go with the flower! ^_^
 

      ...And remember the before mentioned mint green yarn. The yarn I made the mittens and the scarf out of?!... 
 

       Hubby took a few photos of them out in the backyard yesterday...after the rainy skies cleared....I love the photos!...even though they're LOADED with contradiction!! I mean, there's no snow on the ground, but Tina is mittened to the max (not to mention that they almost look like oven mitts too!! ^_^ WHATEVER!!!!), and she's scarfed up to her headless neck! :-))
      It's also not lost on me that wearing a light-weight stringed dress along with mittens and a thick scarf is just fraught with contradiction!! ^_^ The kind of contradiction that makes you wanna scrap the photos, put Tina in a winter Parka, twist off her mitted hands, and start all over again! ^_^ 
      But...Hey!!...I'm Poetesswug, crazy-girl crocheter, poet, lover of country music and Motown, and wife to a loving non-professional photographer who took loads of these photos just so that I could find three that would work for me. I'm NOT beyond contradiction!! ^_^
       

      Besides...Tina looks cool!!! ^_^ Why mess with 'cool-mint-green-contradiction'!! ^_^ Have a good rest of the day, Everybody!! ♥

And not just worn by 'one person',
with a body shape just right.

It's good to have 'eclectic' tastes,
and to just be who 'you' are!
But be careful, because 'eclectic'
quickly can become 'Too Far'!!

'Virtual Date', Tennis...And Football?!!!

      Soooooo...when you're a tennis lover, like myself, and you've been watching tennis for a whole week...without talking about it non-stop on your blog, I might add!...what do you think you wanna talk about all day long Friday with your hubby, on your regular 'virtual' date night?! ^_^ You guessed it! Tennis!! ♥ And when you have a great date night partner, like I do, he'll let ya!! :-)

      Of course, talking doesn't always happen! ^_^ And when that's the case, there are some perks to having a wife who is preoccupied when Australian Open tennis time comes! And here's what they are:

     1. Quiet! :-) ... Your usually attentive wife is not asking you every 15 minutes: "What are you doing?"

     2. Peace! :-) ... You can take naps, eat Chitos, watch tv...holding the remote!! ^_^ ...drink orange juice out of the carton, and waste enormous amounts of time doing...NOTHING!...without anyone caring!! LOL

     3. Cooking!...You can try new recipes {*hubby is making some kind of apple bread right now!* O_O}, ... or you can make your...regularly sneaked...grilled tuna with tomatoes, hot peppers, and potato chips...along with massive amounts of mayonnaise...YUCK!!! LOL...without your wife giving you the 'stink-face' and trying to wipe the mayonnaise out of the corner of your drooling mouth!...YUCK!!! ^_^ 

     4. Lack of needed communication skills!...You can just say "WOW, Baby!"..."Yep!"...or "I think so."...without worrying about what you're saying, because any conversation actually coming your way right now is just your wife trying to let you know that you still matter to her......Not that she actually wants to talk to you!! LOL

     5. Camaraderie, without teamsmanship! :-) ... In other words, you can cuddle right next to your wife, watch tennis too, or just take a nap....using ALL of the cover for yourself!...without chastisement! ^_^ In fact, you might get a little pat or a backrub during the commercial breaks of a good game!! :-)

      And lastly, you get to spend your 'virtual' Friday date night with your shoes off, PJs on, and yet still be in Australia! :-) ... This is a particularly wonderful perk because right now, here in Holyoke Massachusetts, we're preparing for a snow storm that's due to come our way tomorrow. O_O With temperatures barely above the freezing mark, and snow on the way, sitting in 'virtual' Australia in the hot sun, with crowds of other tennis lovers, is just how you have a great date night with your tennis loving wife!! ^_^

      Okay...enough of that silliness!! ^_^ Let me show you how far my artsy berry blue hat has come!...

      I only have about six more rows to do, and then it'll be all about the artsy applique! :-) I have lots of sewing on and placement prep to do in that regard. But I'll have plenty of time to do it too, with the snowstorm keeping hubby home, and me not being able to work on....*looking left and right to see if hubby is reading over my shoulder*...a certain pair of crochet football slippers! :-)

       I did sneak some photos of how they look right now....*Shhhhhhhh!*...This is part of the side...

      And yes, I am making them for 'Big Foot'! LOL...My husband wears a 12 or 13 size shoe!!! ^_^ ...My girlfriend and I are making football slippers at the same time. She's making a pair for her little boy...size 8 1/2. She has both of her shoe soles done already!! :-)) So, needless to say, it's taking me waaaaay longer to do mine!! LOL

      I've been hiding them from hubby and messing with his head too!! LOL I told him my girlfriend was making a pair for her little boy, and he said: "WHATTTTT???!!!! O_O You mean her little boy is gonna have a pair before me?! O_O I thought you said you were gonna make me a pair?!!"...I said: "Awwww! Don't worry honey, I'm still gonna make you a pair......eventually." Ha! Ha!

      It's kinda wrong that I'm letting him sulk off and be so disappointed, isn't it?! ^_^ But I think he'll forgive me when I hand them to him on 'SUPERBOWL Sunday'!!!! ^_^ That's coming up on February 1, 2015!!! :-) ... I guess that means I better try to find ways to get 'Big Foot' out of this house after this storm passes!! LOL

It's The Color Purple...Or Violet!......Artsy Hat #5!

      Are you sick of looking at my artsy crochet hats yet?! ^_^ I hope not, because I've got a whole bunch more of them to make!! In fact I'm already into the next one...the sunshine yellow one! :-) 

      But I'm not gonna talk about that one today. I'm gonna talk about this one!...

      It's soft, soft, soft! And it's the color purple. Well...purple violet. :-) ...
 

      But the yarn color isn't it's best feature. It's best feature is the beaded button brooch on the side!! :-) ...
 

       It's what you would call 'Bead Heavy'!!! :-) Beads all around the button. And beads dangling down!! :-)
 

      Now, I don't know exactly what kind of person will be attracted to my fashionable beaded hat. But whoever it is has class and style to the mountains!! ^_^ Of course, I'm saying that because "I" would wear this hat almost every day...and I like to think of myself as a Wug girl full of class and style to the mountains!! LOL
 

      And, just so you know, I wouldn't be mad at a person that bought it just for the warm head they would have in the cold weather!! LOL The key words would be 'BOUGHT IT'!! ^_^

      No, I don't know why 'this morning', above all the other Sunday mornings, my taste buds (and I suspect, my hormones!) said: "Ummmm...I sure would love some pancakes!"...but, whatever the reason, hubby is willing to make 'em, so I'm willing...Ha! Ha!...to eat 'em this morning!! ^_^ 

      Of course, that has nothing to do with my chocolate shawl in the header photo! ^_^ The reason I'm showing off my shawl is because I wanna give my lonesome 'waaaay-back-in-the-back-of-my-shop' baby some attention...AND I wanna show off the Etsy treasury that it was picked for! :-) ...

      That's pretty much all I have to talk about today!...except to let you know that I'm finishing up my three flower brooch custom order today. She decided on a variegated yellow and orange brooch, and two more. One lavender, and one soft pink! :-) I'll be finishing the lavender one this morning, and then off to the post office it will go!!

      Later on today, after the meeting, I'll 'whip out' the black mittens for the other custom order! :-) ... 'Whip out' may not be exactly correct, especially with my lame left hand now. (It still hurts when I stretch the fingers completely out, for some reason. Grrr!) But it'll be fast nonetheless. I'm motivated because it's already 1/3 paid for!! ^_^

     Oh, if only I could get a publisher to 1/3 pay for my book of poetry!! LOL I could 'whip out' poems with no problem!...My brain isn't lame! ^_^ Well....I guess that's debatable too!! LOL..Anyway!...Have a good 'Pancake Sunday', Everybody! :-)

     I actually did it! I made a brooch with one of my favorite buttons on it! :-) And I actually listed it in my Wuglyees shop too! :-) I hope it sells, but actually...this one was for me! ^_^ And more are coming too! I mean...I can't just let them sit in my 'stash box', can I?!

     This particular flower button...I think...it's worth about $11.00. So, I'm taking a chance putting a higher price on the brooch, in order to cover the price of a button! But hey!...someone besides me may appreciate it, right?!....RIGHT?!! O_O

      Other than my special button...and more buttons to come!...I don't have much to talk about! :-)) ... So, I'm gonna show you a couple of eye-catchers, and get on outta here! ^_^ ...

      Hubby surprised me with a cornmeal fried pork chop, pasta and cheese, and potatoes and onions!...Frankly, the picture of it doesn't look that great! But it was DE-delicious!!! ^_^ Considering that I wasn't physically feeling all that great...it was a perfect 'feel-good' kinda surprise! :-] ... I Just Realized...There's No Rhyme Or Reason....

     Have you ever tried to put your finger on exactly why it is that you like the things you like?!...I thought about that today as I was looking through the Etsy search...I realized pretty quick that there's no rhyme or reason to the things I like! And I realized that when I like it....I like it, and that's that!

      It's not because they're a certain color. It's not because I own a pet, or like a certain country, or am planning a vacation, or am moving to a new house and need decorating ideas! ^_^ Nope! There really is no rhyme or reason.

      Hubby finds this an endearing quality of mine. According to him, I'm the woman that he's always dreamed of...*stop gagging!*...a woman who knows what I like, and don't like, and am not afraid to say so!...It makes the decision making process pretty easy for him:

"Honey, do you like this one or that one?"....."That one!"

"Should I wear these or those?"....."Definitely those!"

     This is not a judgement...just an observation....but I don't understand people that agonize over a decision...Any decision! O_O It puzzles me why they don't have an immediate reaction...I mean, I understand that they may not know WHY they like a certain something,...that's me too!...but why don't they know 'whether' they like it or not?!

      Test yourself on these things below. If you saw them in a search somewhere would you have an immediate reaction to them, as to whether you liked them or not?!...{By the way, I liked all of them....immediately! :-) Including the cage in the header photo.}...

Here's Your Key For The Flight Of The Bumblebee!

         I've got some 'Scrabble' and breakfast eating to do this morning, so I'm not gonna be here 'yapping' long. I just wanted to share a couple of things...one being my Funky Clowning Around Key Chain (in the header photo). It was chosen...and I am truly flabbergasted as to why! LOL...for a treasury.
    The treasury is entitled With Key...Oh, that's probably why! ^_^ Okay...so I'm a little slow this morning!

      Just kidding. :-] I said I didn't know why because if you look at the treasury everything else in there looks so serious, and then.....my pink, blue and yellow giggle-fest of a key chain is thrown in there! It just seems like it's hanging out in the wrong neighborhood. ^_^ ...But hey! who am I to argue!...Thank you, Danfe!
       The other quick thing I wanted to share is my 'almost' completely finished yellow, gray and black wrist warmer/ fingerless gloves! :-)

        I'm sure that not everybody is gonna appreciate my...'interesting'...color choices...

        But then.......everybody doesn't have to! ^_^ I like 'em!
