A Scarf?.....On Date Night?!!!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6006578&ref=shopsection_leftnav_2

Like most Fridays,  all day I've been preoccupied with my 'virtual' trip with my Honey Bear for tonight's date. ♥ {Uhhhh...'Honey Bear' would be my husband of 33 years, for those who are not regulars to my blog! ^_^} We're planning a trip to a spa! :-) ...Well, it's more 'my' choice than his! ^_^ I needed some 'primping' and stuff! ^_^  But he's game. And besides, he needs a haircut...sooooo, as he puts it: "Why not!" LOL
But I had a crochet request from a friend before I got completely into 'date night' mode! :-) She asked me to make a scarf for her little boy. Apparently he lost his other one. :-( And the temperatures around here lately have been brutal! In the single digits and stuff! Brrrrrr!
You might not be able to tell from my bad photos!.. ^_^ ...but the colors of the scarf are country blue...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6006578&ref=shopsection_leftnav_2

      ...and red!...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6006578&ref=shopsection_leftnav_2

You'll just have to take my word that it looks much better in person! :-) ...

https://www.etsy.com/shop/wuglyees?section_id=6006578&ref=shopsection_leftnav_2

      It's a half-and-half type scarf!...

I had to put a rush job on it...I didn't wanna be late catching the 'virtual' plane outta here! My hairy chin and knuckles will not wait!!! LOL

Okay...that's all my patience will allow! Gotta Go! GOTTA GO!!! ^_^ Have a good date night, and, or, weekend, Y'all!! ♥

Have a good weekend!

Spend some time with your kids,
do the errands you been meaning to do,
do a little grocery shopping,
maybe make a chicken stew.

Organize your messy space,
clean the closets, throw things out,
watch a little mindless T.V.,
and replace the bathroom grout.

Take a walk around the park,
play some board games with your friends,
maybe even cut your hair
(but just a little bit, off the ends).

Take a trip to Grandma's house,
do some gardening in the yard,
give new projects a little finish,
but nothing that might be too hard.

It's the weekend, after all;
It's your week's tail, at a wag;
No need for scurry, hurry, rushing.
No! You want this time to lag!

'Virtual Friday' Catch-Up!

Hello! :-) Yes...I'm still alive! LOL But even I was surprised at how many days have passed by since I blogged!! What is it?...three?! :-)) Three days without blogging may not seem like a lot to most people, but for me it's a lifetime!! ^_^
I was in a habit of blogging every single day! But my personal...offline...schedule has changed dramatically lately, and I'm trying to get used to it. And trying to figure out where to fit the time for crocheting and blogging and everything else in! Not easy!!
I can tell you that I now have a PCA (personal care assistant) whose here with me every day. She's really, really nice! :-] And hubby loves here attention to detail! She does whatever dishes he doesn't get to before he goes to work, helps with laundry, cleans my C-Pap machine for me every day, and is available to help me out with anything I need! :-) It's really taking a load off of our minds!
And we're trying to get my wuglyees etsy shop back in the 'SALE' category!! It's been practically invisible lately!! O_O And we can use the money these days....badly!!!...So if you know anybody that needs some crochet items, send them my way, will ya?! ^_^
In the meantime, I'm a hat maker extraordinaire!! LOL And this is the beginnings of my latest one...

I'll show you the finished hat in a minute! :-) First, I wanna share with you that I still have hummingbirds...YAY!!! ^_^ ...

      I know...you can barely see him! :-)) But....they are kinda little!! :-)

Not as little as bumblebees though...and we have lots of them still in the backyard these days too! ^_^ ...

It may just be my mind playing games with me, but I somehow remember this time of year as cooler, with no hummingbirds left...and no bumblebees!! O_O Why we still have so much activity in the backyard is a mystery to me!...A nice mystery though! :-)

Boy!...Look at how I'm yapping on and on!! :-)) ... I'll stop now!...and show you my colorful hat!! ^_^ ...

It was funny how it looked almost like a different hat every time I changed colors! :-) ...

And the flower brooch gave it yet another look! :-) ...

I must admit...I don't like the back seam. The next time I do these may colors I'm gonna have to figure out how to make that seam a bit more invisible!...but for now...OOPS! There it is!!! LOL

I may need a hat on my date tonight. Hubby and I are gonna be going over to the opening day of 'The Big E'! ^_^ We're gonna walk around and check out the other crafts being displayed, and the animals, and catch a LIVE show too!! ^_^
What are you doing on your date tonight?!...Or this weekend?! ^_^ Whatever it is, have a good time!!! ♥

Have a good weekend!

I'm 'Squirreling' Away Some Time Today!

Brrrrrrrr!...Even the squirrels in the backyard would trade a hot cup of coffee for their hunting of nuts in this weather!! IT IS COLD!!! O.O Hubby had to chisel frost off of the windshield of the car for the first time this morning. He even got back in the house earlier than normal this morning. I asked why, and he said it was because the clients were in a hurry to get on the van this morning. That cold was scooting them along! ^_^
So, needless to say, we're not going anywhere cold for our 'virtual' date tonight! :-)) In fact, we may be a couple of squirrels ourselves tonight! ^_^ We're gonna 'squirrel' away some time to spend together, and maybe 'squirrel' away some secret travel plans, and definitely we're gonna 'squirrel' away some food! ^_^ ...

Who knows whether our travel plans are gonna take us to sunny California, the south of France, the southern United States, or just the sunny side of happy...with a movie about somewhere warm, and ending with us hanging out in our pajamas! LOL...

Whatever the case, we're gonna be together....calm, full, and happy! :-) ...

As you can clearly see, my blog is 'theme' based this morning...all about squirrels!...but not because I gave it that much thought. It's because I got an adorable photo from an Etsian yesterday, after I posted her hobo bag here on the blog. She was reading about my little backyard squirrel friend, and wanted to tell me about hers!
Amy said: "You just reminded me to feed the squirrels (ours are almost tame)!" :-) ... And then she sent me this picture...

(Photo provided by Amy of TheVintageArtistry)

...and said: "He's sitting on my daughter's shoulder. She was at a park and his mama was hit by a car. A while later she could hear the babies crying, so she brought them home and bottle fed them. He's grown now but still stops by to eat almost every day!...Over the years we've probably had babies of any animal you can think of!"
      Cool, right?! ^_^

Okay...I'm really late getting this post up today, and I still have tons of stuff to do!! O_O Including some crocheting, and 'virtual' date plans....maybe! :-)) ... Have a good day, Everybody!

Here's a little inspiration for you to get the weekend started off with a "Roar"...hubby's new song he likes to sing. ^_^
Have a good weekend!

Pancake Breafast Sunday...With Flowers!

Happy Pancakes day! :-) ...Okay! There's no such 'actual' day...for most people. But, in the 'Wug' household, that's what today and every Sunday for a while is! So humor me a little, will ya! LOL...I'm tired, and in pain (don't ask!.Ugh!), and pancakes sounded like a good way to lift my spirits, take away pain, and help me get a nap that I'm sorely needing. I've been up since around 2 a.m.!!...Hormones.....UGH!
While hubby is toiling away over a hot skillet, I'll show you some of the flowers I made since yesterday...

None of these are online yet. I may get them in the shop (Wuglyees) later today, after my meeting {at the Kingdom Hall.} I got side-tracked from listing them by having to re-make some sold boutonnieres {my basic colors are selling as fast as I put them in the shop!}, and by having to work on a large custom order that has to be listed for sale today also.
Oh yeah...I was also side-tracked by watching tennis. ^_^ The Australian Open. The truth be told, I'm thankful that's it's on really early in the morning here. Otherwise I'd be up, all wide-eyed and in pain, twiddling my thumbs and looking for bad stuff to eat!! LOL...Bad stuff not meaning pancakes! Nooooooooo! Pancakes...on Sunday...are 'good'!!! ^_^
'Bad stuff' would be my craving for 'Cape Cod' crunchy sea salt and vinegar chips!...or dill pickles wrapped in ham and cream cheese...or a box of Russell Stover's nutty, chewy, crunchy chocolates!!...*drooling*...YUM!....Nope! Not gonna have any of that!....I'm gonna have pancakes with a side of fried ham steak....and a nap! LOL

What are you having good to eat today?!...Are you having pancakes?!...Here's a recipe for you...I can't remember where I got it. O_O If someone knows, tell me so I can give them credit...

 The Best Buttermilk Pancakes

You'll need:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
1 ¼ cup buttermilk, shaken
1 large egg
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a small bowl, measure out the buttermilk. Add the egg, melted butter and vanilla extract; beat until thoroughly combined.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being sure to not over-mix. The batter should have small to medium lumps.

Heat up your griddle (or cast iron skillet) over medium heat and brush with 1/2 tablespoon of butter. Scoop the batter, using a 1/4 cup measure (or tablespoon measure), onto the warm skillet. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until small bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, and then flip. Turn heat down to medium-low and cook on opposite side for about 1 minute, or until golden brown.

Transfer cooked pancakes to a baking sheet and place in oven to keep warm. Proceed with the rest of the batter until you're done. Serve with warm maple syrup.

Pancakes are easily modified, too. For heartier pancakes, consider adding ¼ cup whole-wheat, buckwheat, rye or barley flour, and decreasing the all-purpose amount to ¾ cup. If you'd like them a bit sweeter, simply add one to two more tablespoons of sugar. If you'd like to brighten them up, fold in fresh lemon or orange zest. If you're in the mood for fruit, add blueberries, raspberries or strawberries; instead of adding them to the batter—which will result in them sinking to the bottom—add them to the pancakes on the griddle.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And have some flowers with them too! :-) ... ENJOY!!! ... And have a good rest of the day, and weekend, Everybody! :-)

Have a good weekend!

What?!!!!!....Where?!!!!...I've Been A Little Distracted!

Okay!...So I've been a little preoccupied....a 'little' I said!! LOL...Call it being a happy 'Spider Solitaire' opponent for my husband, or being a blissful crocheter. Call it 'wrap-A-Package' happiness. Call it 'tennis oblivion'! Call it hurricane 'Leslie'-put-in-the-back-of-my-mindedness!! OOPS!!!  O_O
I mean...I knew Leslie was out there the other day...but then I forgot about it. O_O Besides, it's just a...

...Right?!....Well, it may not even BE a hurricane yet. It could be a little tropical storm! O_O !!!...YIKES!!....Leslie.

Yes, I've been distracted and 'De-stressing' on homemade blueberry muffins and 'desserty' things that my husband has been making lately...

And on some of the awesome breakfasts! Breakfasts like the one he made this  morning!...

      ....Grits, cheese and eggs and...

     ...B-A-C-O-N!!!! :-) ...What?!...I've also had oatmeal and peaches and fiber-y stuff!....Hush!! LOL

And I've also been lapel pin distracted!...

I've been distracted with requests for them, and with trying to replace them in the shop. They're going like hot cakes!! :-))

I've also been distracted by a grandmother walking her 'barely-walking' grand-baby through the backyard...I think mama is back to work, and all of the other siblings are back to school. Grandma has been a welcome companion for little one. :-)

I've also been distracted by the ants...trying to figure out how to get to my hummingbird feeder. :-)) ...

They haven't figured it out yet!...Ha! :-) ...I only have one lone hummingbird still coming anyway...And the ants aren't his only problem! There's a bumblebee that's been dive-bombing him every time he gets close to the feeder. O_O We don't know why. Silly Bee!....distracting!!

And, of course, there's been the distraction of Etsy finds! What do you think of these (below)?...*and if you have something else to do instead of looking at my Etsy finds, go ahead. I won't be mad at ya! ^_^ There's no sense in ALL of us letting ourselves get distracted!! LOL*

But as I was saying...to those of you still here... ^_^ I've been distracted by a couple of artists on Etsy...

If you have the time, you should check out both of these artist's shops (above). Oh! They're sooooo talented!!

WOW!...where did the time go?! O_O...And hmmmm...it's kinda windy, and also kinda dark, in the backyard! O_O ... I guess it's not slipper time anymore...

The weather is suppose to start deteriorating this afternoon. The weather people are saying we should be prepared for stormy weather...downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightening, etc....Ugh!...I guess we'd better make sure we know where the candles and flashlights are!...

...And maybe where the snacks are too! :-)) It's times like these that I'm thankful for my 'stash'!...Although I've only got 'hot balls' and 'Skittles' in there right now....EMERGENCY snacks!! LOL

Okay, I'm off to check on the weather again....and check to see what time the semi-finals tennis matches start at the U.S. Open! :-) ... Uh Oh! O_O ...Could the U.S. Open possibly be rained out today because of 'Leslie'?!!...I sure hope something distracts Leslie...at least until the match is over!!! ^_^

Have a good weekend, Everybody! :-] ... Let your hair down a little, but keep your head up! And if you're in the path of bad weather this weekend, like we are, HUNKER DOWN!!!!!

Have a good weekend!
