Have You Ever Had A 'NAP-CATION'?!!

      "Hellooooooo!...*echo returns*...Is anybody awake out there besides me?!" O_O I did it again, Y'all! I went down for what I thought was gonna be 'a little nap' and...uhhhhh...almost missed my 'virtual date night' all together!!

      I guess I was more tired than I thought, huh?! ^_^ I felt bad for hubby though. He came home from work...tired too...but ready for our date...and found me clad in sheets and blankets up to my neck, eyes peacefully closed, and my C-Pap machine humming!! LOL 

      He said he didn't know what to do. Should he wake me up from my peaceful slumber and tell me to get ready for our 'virtual' trip abroad, or should he climb into the bed next to me and go to 'dreamland' with me! ^_^ ... 'Nap-cation' it was!!!! ^_^

      It was a wonderful date night!! :-) ... But now it's 2:49 a.m. and I'm WIDE AWAKE!!! O_O Ugh!....Hormones!...Hubby is still in 'dreamland'...mouth open and eyelids fluttering...and here I am...well, me and the music channel...*70s music*...humming along to familiar songs from my teenage years, and blogging! :-)

Virtual trip

I really like to travel,
See the world, expand my mind.
But not getting on an airplane,
or hunting luggage I can't find!

I like a 'good ole' virtual trip.
Computer details. Music too.
Where you don't need a 'stinking' passport,
or have to wear a 'stinking' shoe!

But a little stay at home,
under covers, lock and key,
can also be expansive.
Even if it's 'virtually'.

A Scarf?.....On Date Night?!!!

      Like most Fridays,  all day I've been preoccupied with my 'virtual' trip with my Honey Bear for tonight's date. ♥ {Uhhhh...'Honey Bear' would be my husband of 33 years, for those who are not regulars to my blog! ^_^} We're planning a trip to a spa! :-) ...Well, it's more 'my' choice than his! ^_^ I needed some 'primping' and stuff! ^_^  But he's game. And besides, he needs a haircut...sooooo, as he puts it: "Why not!" LOL

       But I had a crochet request from a friend before I got completely into 'date night' mode! :-) She asked me to make a scarf for her little boy. Apparently he lost his other one. :-( And the temperatures around here lately have been brutal! In the single digits and stuff! Brrrrrr!

      You might not be able to tell from my bad photos!.. ^_^ ...but the colors of the scarf are country blue...

      ...and red!...

      You'll just have to take my word that it looks much better in person! :-) ...

      I had to put a rush job on it...I didn't wanna be late catching the 'virtual' plane outta here! My hairy chin and knuckles will not wait!!! LOL

      The weather people are saying that the weather is gonna be rain free around here at least until next Monday or Tuesday. That means that we can look forward to a weekend of sunshine and rain-free happiness! ^_^ YAY!...I hope you all have a good weekend weather-wise too!

      Eat something good. Play outside...or inside, for the board-game lovers like me! :-) Sleep your heads off if you feel a long nap coming on. And repeat the whole process both days if you can! ^_^

      My hubby might've been thinking he was gonna just lay around and rest this weekend, but nooooooo! ^_^ We're 'virtually' heading to Thailand tonight! So it'll be lots of packing, and walking, and long plane rides, and jet lag for him...with a lot of good food, music, and dancing in between. :-))

      At least he won't have to be out in the backyard weeding and raking. The yard people have taken care of that today! :-) They even cut down the tree right outside my window....I'm not sure I'm that happy about it now. There's a whole lot of sun coming in the window, and I was kinda used to shade and chirping birds!...But who knows. By the time we get back from Thailand I may be okay with everything! :-))

      So, I'm off!!...YOU all have a good weekend!! Bye! ♥

      Hello Friday lovers! :-) I did a lot of talking around here yesterday...all southern girl and everything! :-)) ...but I'll spare you a lot of yapping today. Besides, it's 'Virtual Friday Date Day' and I have packing to do! ^_^

      Ingenious!! :-) ... Why wouldn't you want your house to smell like watermelon...or look like it smells like watermelon!! :-] ... I admit it. This caught my eye because I spent part of my day yesterday eating 'real' watermelon!! YUM! It was so cold and good!!

      Hubby brought it home because he was tired of me talking about how much I wanted some! :-)) He's very observant, that one! :-) ... He told me he was in the store staring at the watermelon stems to see if they were old enough, and thumping...and thumping...and thumping!! LOL He didn't know exactly what he was suppose to be hearing, but he remembered that I used to do that! LOL

      It sometimes makes me sad to know that my hubby has to take up the slack because of my physical disabilities. But I'm so thankful to Jehovah God for him!! Another type of man would be whining and complaining. Well...he whines and complains sometimes!! LOL But he's still here! As loving and attentive as ever too! ^_^ I'm gonna be very nice to him for our date tonight!! ♥

Hmmmm...What Are 'YOU' Doing Tonight?!

      I need your help, blog readers, before I continue with today's post!! O_O I'm trying to find out how many people are actually reading this blog, and I think my numbers aren't telling me the truth! So, PLEASE!...if you read this blog daily, or weekly, or EVER! LOL...leave me a quick note...even just a "yes"...down at the bottom of this post, to let me know you're there. Thank You! :-]

      Now!...on to today's post...It's Friday, people!! :-) And in my case...'Virtual Friday Date Night' day!! YAY!!!...The problem is...uhhhh...I don't know where we're going, 'IF' we're going, or nothing!! It's been one of those kind of weeks where I've traveled more than I've wanted to already this week, and I'm feeling like putting on some 'footy' pajamas, calling 'Uno's Pizzeria' for TAKE-OUT, and 'vegging'!! ^_^

       Usually, for our Friday date, hubby and I are all about packing light, dressing ourselves up in good-looking but comfortable clothes...

      ...wearing our slip-on shoes to the 'virtual' airport, and going somewhere fun for good music and good food!! :-) But this week we've 'Been There/Done All That' already!!...It wasn't all that much fun, because the travel plans took us on a highway trip...but not to anywhere fun! But it was taxing on the mind and body...FOR SURE!! All of the traffic, waiting, dressing, un-dressing, poking, prodding, etc... (Doctor's Visit) UGH!

     Needless to say, if I don't see another professional smiling face this week...I'll be just fine!!! :-] ... And food?!......Oh Yes! We had good food!!!!... 

      Chicken, sweet potatoes, and salad!...care of some dear, dear, friends of ours! ^_^ ♥♥♥...
 

      They called and said they were bringing it over!!...Yeah! Just like that! :-) ...
 

      And, IT.......WAS........DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      The funny thing is...they had no way of knowing that hubby and I were having one of those "what-do-you-want-for-dinner?!"..."No, what do you want for dinner?"...kind of days! By the time he went to work in the afternoon we were still undecided...and we had a meeting last night!
      That shared meal...still hot when it got here!!...was dropped right out of the sky!...sorta kinda. ^_^ ♥ I would thank them by name here...with blinking lights and everything!...but that might be a bit much for them. :-)) So, I'll control myself and just say 'THANK YOU, YOU KNOW WHO!!!" ^_^ And...uhhhhh...if hubby could get the recipe for the chicken he...and I...would appreciate it!! ^_^
      As to music, I have been listening to music all week!...but mostly during the breaks while watching tennis. ^_^...Yeah, tennis is still on! ^_^ (Indian Wells)...But I haven't been listening to 'date' music!...You know, love songs. So, maybe that's something we 'could' do!! :-) ...

A Date In Fog And Rain?!

      Hello, from Massachusetts...where, if you don't like the present weather, all you have to do is wait a minute or two, and it'll change!! LOL 

      Yeah, that's my attempt at trying to 'make funny' about this crazy weather we're having! I complained and complained, for days, about all of the snow we were getting...and the ice on top of the snow!...*In fact, hubby almost had an accident last night because of slippery ice while it was sleeting! O_O*

      And the weather today?!....Well, it's as if  someone heard me complaining about the snow and ice and said: "Oh!...so you don't like snow and ice?!....How about some rain and fog then?!!"

      Ugh!...

      At least sintwister can make fog look nice! ^_^ But it's not gonna be good weather to travel in!...Tonight is 'Virtual Date Night!* :-)

      I have to say though, that I'm amazed at how much the woodpeckers and black-capped chickadees seem to enjoy this crazy weather!! O_O Or is it that delicious suet feeder mixture that has them all fat and happy?! ^_^ They sit and swing, and then chirp away...like they're singing a happy song. :-)) Of course, the woodpeckers aren't singing!  They're either pecking away, or just sitting there on the feeder, or in the tree, sleepily looking around...

Rain Of Love

I sometimes love the rain,
and how it makes me think, again,
of our private time together-
(time I spent with my best friend).

There's something quieting to the soul
about the rainfall's pitter patter,
that makes your problems disappear,
and never really seem to matter.

Just lying cuddled on the bed,
talking softly, from the heart;
or sleeping through the thunder's rumble,
while the birds all flit and dart.

Is it normal to be smiling,
when the clouds are dark with rain?
(Maybe its just the perspective
of the twisted, wet, insane!)

At any rate-when he's at work,
and I am here, at home, alone,
and I see the drizzle starting-
I get him, quickly, on the phone.

I say:
"Hi Honey, what you doing?"
He says: "What else, but think of you!"
You see,he saw the raindrops falling,
and he didn't know what to do!

He couldn't drop his work and run!
He said he had to use restraint.
(And if he had, I would be shocked!)
But I admit-the thought was quaint.

Okay! So what? We're kind of strange-
We never want the rain to end!
But, before you judge us crazy,
watch some raindrops with your friend,
and then, just read this poem again!

      Zoom!!!...That's how fast we're gonna get to the Caribbean tonight!...the Dominican Republic to be exact!! ^_^ We're in need of sun...sandy beaches...good music...and good food! Ahhhhhhh! :-) And now that our 'mode of transportation' is moving much faster...*my friend installed some more memory to my computer for me this morning....double!*...we're gonna get there 'lickity-split'! ^_^

      So, while we're digging out our water flippers and snorkel gear, let me give you something to look at...quick!! ^_^ ...

      Do you know what you're looking at?!...No?!...Well, I'll tell you! ^_^ You're looking at my husband's latest culinary creation...spice cake, with a coconut and sliced pecan glaze frosting. :-) ...

      I was gonna add the word: 'YUM!" after that last sentence, but I figured a photograph of the cake on the plate showing that it's half gone already would suffice. LOL

      What in the Carribbean could be better than this?!! ^_^
 

      Well...I don't know!...but I'm gonna find out!!! ^_^ I'm in a hurry to get to a warm place...without snow! (it's snowing again right now!! Ugh!)...Listen to something that makes me wanna move my feet...and other parts! ^_^...and stick something non-good-for-me related in my mouth!! LOL...something ELSE I mean...because I already wolfed down...scarfed down...nibbled....ate my fair share of hubby's cake!!! LOL
      Because she was so sweet as to come by and give my computer a little boost...and me too! ^_^ (she brought me a cup of half coffee/half hot chocolate! YUM)...I shared some of hubby's creation with her! :-) Now, I think hubby is gonna have to make her a whole one for her alone...to hide from her family in her house!! ^_^

'Virtual' Friday Date Night...And 'Enter Sandman'?!

      It's been quite a few Fridays now since hubby and I actually wanted to go somewhere...besides going to sleep...for our 'virtual' Friday Date Night!...but tonight...after some really good news we received yesterday! Woohoo!!!!...we feel like traveling!! ^_^

      I'm not gonna get into what the good news was, but suffice it to say....Woohoo!!!!!!!! ^_^ We've been waiting for it for a looooooong time!!...It means that maybe we'll be able to breathe a little, instead of hanging on pins and needles about our finances all the time.

      Anyway!....we're ready to go to a place where the sun is shining, and colors are everywhere!! ^_^ And we couldn't have picked a better place to throw on our flip flops and throw off our cares than.....Puerto Rico!!!! :-)

     
      Before I head off to finish packing though, let me show you the new photos I made of my crochet brooch and boutonniere wedding package! :-) ...

      I'm gonna be putting some 'MADE TO ORDER' listings in my Wuglyees shop before we leave on our trip tonight. 

       I have one more bit of business to take care of...My 'Bye, Bye!' to Mariano Rivera, relief pitcher for the New York Yankees. He retired from baseball...
      After getting the Yankees out of an eight inning jam in their game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Mariano Rivera was pulled from the game in the ninth inning by his teammates Andy Pettitte and Derek Jeter...It was his last time at Yankee Stadium...

     Rivera was very emotional. You can see it in the video below...



    “I was so thankful they came out,” said Rivera, who cried when they reached the mound. “I was bombarded with emotions and feeling that I couldn’t describe,”...“Everything hit at that time. I knew that was the last time. Period. I never felt like that before.”

       One baseball fan...actually a Red Sox baseball fan!...said: There goes "the best closer to ever grace a baseball diamond."

        Mariano Rivera, nicknamed "Mo", is a Panamanian baseball pitcher who has played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees.  He spent most of his career as a relief pitcher, and has served as the New York Yankees' closer since 1997...His number...#42...was retired by by the Yankees.

      I wonder if they have baseball in Puerto Rico?!...I could sure use a game right about now. ^_^

I live my life every day,
