It Made Me Do A 'Double-Take'!

Did you do the same thing I did when you saw this little hedgehog?!...Do a double take, I mean?! :-) He looked so real!!! I couldn't believe it when I read the description and saw that it was a toy!..Good for you GladOArt!!...That's the reaction I wanna be able to get with some of my creations too! :-)
Speaking of which, you should've seen my 'double-take' last night when I was watching 'American Idol'! One of the judges, Randy Jackson, was looking all fashionable...wearing boutonnieres! :-) In fact, in two different instances, like a clothing change, I noticed that he was wearing them!!...And not 'real' flowers either!! Although they weren't crochet either I don't think. They looked like felt or something to me.
But I'm here to say: "YAY, for men dressing up again!!!" ^_^ ...And I may, or may not, be saying this because I'm officially a boutonniere crocheting fool right now!!! LOL...

I found two more boutonnieres in my bag that I had only partially finished. They needed backs and buttons...

If you know what my crocheted flowers usually look like, you can see that this one isn't like my normal ones...I was doing a bit of experimenting on the amount of petals to put on them...This one has 6 petals around the center bud. I usually have another layer before the increase of petals. Like in this one (below)....

The center flower bud on this one (above) is under the button, and then there's another layer with four petals...And, by the way, did the clock button on this one make you do a double-take?! ^_^...*I'm still working on that GladOArt!!* LOL
Now....help me out. Which one of the boutonnieres do you like the best? The one with the clock and an extra center petal section, or the brown and green one?!...I'd appreciate the feedback, if you don't mind. :-]
And was I through making boutonnieres?....You know me! ^_^ I had some little cotton threads of color leftover from some other projects that were just itching to either be thrown away or used for something.....I decided to use them for something fun! ^_^

Any man...or woman for that matter...that wears this multicolored fun flower and doesn't have people stopping and doing a double take, needs to be asking the big question.....WHY?!!! LOL And if the answer is because they're known for having fun like that......then alright!!! ^_^

So that's all of my boutonniere making for a little while now...unless I get a custom order or something. :-) ... In the meantime, here's a couple of other things that gave me a 'double-take'...

Go figure....something that looks like money is making me do a double take! ^_^ Hmmmm....could I have money on my mind?!! LOL
Okay....I'm off to do some reading with the hubby. Filling out paperwork and reading up on insurance, annuities, employment, etc.... You know....the usual! ^_^ Have a good day Everybody!!

Double Take

Yes, I looked at it again,
because I couldn't believe what I saw!
Was it meant to catch attention?
Or to make you drop your jaw?

Was it what I thought it was?
Was it real, or was it fake?
Just like life and all it's wonder,
some things need a double take.

    1. ^_^ I do too! And I agree...adorable!...About Randy Jackson, I tried to find a picture online of him wearing it, but the promps from last night's show weren't up yet. I'm gonna find them though! ^_^ He looked so nice. Gave me hope that one day people will be beating down my Wuglyees door....so to speak...for my little boutonnieres! ^_^....*And then I woke up from my dream and moved on!! LOL*...Thanks for the feedback on the clock button one too! I've been holding that button for quite a while. I LOVE it!! But I thought that a men's boutonniere would be the perfect place for it now :-) And since they say you should always have a 'low end' and a 'high end' version of your items in your shop, that'll be my 'high end' boutonniere. :-)...Enjoy grocery shopping!! :-)
