I know that nowadays when September rolls around, especially September 11th, some people's minds immediately go to tragedy...remembering what happened in New York with the world trade center buildings...
With nearly 3,000 people dying all at one time, it's understandable that September would take on a different feel...By the way, can you believe that was 11 years ago?! O_O
But instead of remembering Fall, or Autumn, for tragic scenes of planes crashing into buildings, and fire and smoke......today, let's remember it for scenes like these...
(Butterfly Photo by pixamatic)
I'm sure you could add a few scenes of your own too. I know I could...but you would need 'smell-O-puter' for them! ^_^ Remember the smells of Autumn?!...Like the smell of fresh baking apples, cinnamon laden apple or pumpkin pie, roasted marshmallows, clove studded ham, etc.
And the tastes of Autumn.....like hot apple cider, homemade cornbread stuffing with apples and raisins, sauteed butternut squash and onions, and nuts! All kinds of crunchy fresh nuts! :-) YUM!!!
It also means feel....the feel of warm scarves and gloves, heavy boots and hats, and soft cotton throw blankets, especially crocheted blankets! O_O I guess I better get back on that rainbow blanket, huh?!..I haven't touched it lately y'all!...*shaking my head*...Yes, that's what September, and Fall or Autumn, mean to me. :-) What does it mean to you?! I'd love to hear!...And have a good day, everybody!
Fall Is The Tree
Fall is the tree,
with its colors all set free
in the orange and red you see,
and the golden leaves in the
honey-colored harmony
of a busy bumble bee.
Its so beautiful that we
don't even have to pay a fee
for the stark tranquility
that just fills our heart with glee.
Fall is the tree,
and it makes us hit our knee,
and thank God so humbly
for the unlocked door and key
to our visual memory.
All the other seasons flee,
but the fall is the tree.
