Gray...With A Winning Touch Of Color!

      It's gonna be another day involving rain here in Holyoke Massachusetts today. But this time I'm ready!! I've got some reading to do, a drama to listen to on my cassette, some phone calls to make, and some tennis to watch!...Speaking of which...Congratulations to Samantha Stosur for winning the Women's Singles U.S. Open Tennis Tournament last night! Woohoo!!!
             (samstosur(dot)com)
          She was a fabulous champion! She worked hard, kept her composure during a slight controversy that happened, and was gracious in victory. She made me smile all the way through...YOU GO! GIRL!!! :-) ... I was so excited for her!...She's a bit excited herself!...

     Most of the commentators appeared to not even give her the slightest chance to win, considering how strong Serena Williams had been playing up until last night, but Sam proved them wrong! :-)
       Okay...smiling...but moving on!!
      The whisk photo....I wanna tell you about the whisk photo! I know you're wondering what that's about! ^_^ Well, it's one of the items that was featured in a beautiful treasury by Lisa of grimmandgrete...
       I should say 'another' beautiful treasury, because lately she's created some real stunners! In fact her treasuries have been on the front page of etsy recently on numerous occasions! She's really good at putting a treasury together!
      That's why I was so honored to have my 'ugly wuglyee' slippers..^_^...featured in the above treasury!
        They were in there alongside that beautiful 'whisks photo' in the header picture,....this Clouds Poster by debbiecarlos,...
     ....this Norwegian Fan Design...Whole Spoon Ring by helendesign...
      ...and many other great items. (You can click on the treasury photo above to go and look at the rest of them if you'd like)...Thanks Lisa!!! :-)
      I forgot to mention that I have something else to do today too...crochet! I'm going to be starting another scarf. This one may...or may not...be the item I'll be giving away for the next Giveaway! :-) {You can see the right hand sidebar for the Giveaway that's going on right now}So, if you like scarves, and you plan to enter the Giveaway on the 15th of the month, and you have a preference as to what colors you think I should put in it,...leave me a message below....NOW!!! LOL
     This is the progression of the one I just finished...
        I decided to make it three colors I'd never done together before. Maroon red, white, and gray.
      They're so pretty together, especially with that touch of red color in there! It made me wonder why I'd never done it before! O_O Now my mind is full of all kinds of combinations...gray, black, and white; yellow, blue, and white; gray, black, and dark blue;....etc And this is the season for those colors too!! :-)
        All inspired by this maroon, gray, and white one....
       ...that's now on sell in my Wuglyees Etsy shop HERE!!! :-)
       I love crocheting!!! :-) It's so relaxing...and so rewarding when you see someone wearing something you made! So, imagine my joy when the award winning author, Donna Carrick (Donna_Carrick on Twittertweeted me a link to a photo of herself wearing one of my brooches!!! :-]
       I was absolutely thrilled!!! :-] ... I really liked the way she was wearing it too! Just goes to prove what I always say: You can choose which way you want to wear a flower brooch, and some ways are up to the imagination of the one wearing it!...No! I don't always say that to 'YOU'!! But it's what I always say to people asking questions about them. :-)
      One friend who I said this to, slipped one of my brooches on her belt! Another one, who was visiting my house carrying her baby girl, grabbed one of my brooches, stuck a hair clip through the back of it, and put it in her little girl's hair right on the spot...and fell in love!! :-)) I love when stuff like that happens! ^_^
      Okay....I'm getting side-tracked and too chatty!!! ^_^ See what happens when I'm alone?!!...I've got things to do today!! And I'm sure you do too!! :-) Have a good day everybody!!...with a touch of color!

When I am alone

When I am alone,
with just my pen and pad,
I can talk about myself,
whether I'm  happy, tired or mad.

When I am alone
all the words just fly
from my brain of 'Busy'-ness
to the sight-line of the eye.

When I am alone
there is no veiled conflict;
There is only what I think,
and my ball-point Bic.

When I am alone
I can just be calm;
and if there's  been a fight,
words can soothe like balm.

When I am alone
I confirm, with glee,
that I really like myself
and that "I'd  be friends with me!"

When I am alone
there's  no loneliness;
and what I am feeling
I don't  have to guess-
I just put down pen, and press!

  6. Wasn't that a great win for Sam Stosur! There's already talk about her winning the Australian Open next January. It would be lovely for an Aussie to win at home but I think the reporters are getting ahead of themselves.
    Congrats on the treasury. Although I'm not surprised that you have another piece included in one. You have some wonderful things in your etsy shop :) You are very talented.
