Yep!...........*Yawn*........We're all just sitting around waiting.........*filing a hang nail on my hand*......
Might as well find something to do...*looking through my reading material*...
Has anybody checked the weather report for today?! O_O ...
I mean...we can't sit around here all day waiting for the weather to clear. We've got things to do!!
If you're a tennis watcher you know what we're all waiting for...the finish of the French Open Finals match between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. It was postponed yesterday due to rain...
And everything was going along so nicely for Djokovic too....Well, at least for the moment. He was leading in the fourth set, 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 1-2, and was about to serve to try to extend his lead so that he could even this match up!
He was not having a good time. And it wasn't all just about the continuous rain that was falling either!...
His problem was this bouncing "Baby Boy"! ^_^
Rafael Nadal...
He was all over this match right from the very beginning!...(Photos of the match above are from the ROLAND_GARROS Facebook site)...I can't wait for it to start again!! Thankfully it's suppose to start back at 1 p.m. French time, which is 7 a.m. my time....about 1:45 minutes from now!! :-)
In the meantime, me and the chickens will be checking out Natalie's new Summertime Blues treasury...
She was sweet enough to add one of my items from my Wuglyees Etsy shop. She chose my Powder Blue, Pink and White Tie Dyed Crochet Necklace...
I was thrilled because this is one of the new ones I made recently. I haven't sold any of them in the shop yet, and I was beginning to think I was the only one that liked them! ^_^ So, thank you, Nat! Maybe they'll get some more visibility now...and maybe I'll even sell some of them! LOL
Here's a few of my favorites in her treasury...
Natalie even had something in her treasury from her own Etsy shop, NatCraftsandPhotos. It was her Blue Summer Lap Blanket...
Very nice! :-)
If the rain postpones the game any more today, I'm gonna continue working on my latest projects. I'm trying to come up with the right combination of materials and colors to do my tiny "pop-of-color" lapel pins in. I've made a few for the shop with buttons on the back,...and they've sold too...but getting the right size buttons on such a small lapel pin, and having it fit correctly in that tiny opening that men have on their suit lapels, has been a challenge!
I'm hoping that my latest purchases will help!...
Can you see where I'm going with these?! :-) ... I've done a couple, but I'm still not completely happy with them. I miss putting my buttons on them...I'll show them to you soon. After I get through with my tennis "fix"! LOL
Okay....I'm off to get something to eat, get me a good seat, and watch the rest of my match.....I HOPE!!! If it's still raining at Roland Garros I'm not gonna be a happy camper!! O_0 ... Anyway!...Have a good day, Everybody! It's a new week to start over and get it right! ^_^ Let's Play!!!
Do You Play?!
I had some 'Play Time' in my youth,
back when my hips could take the heat.
I couldn't wait to find someone
that I could race, chase down, or beat!
How many times did I 'Hopscotch',
play some marbles, skip a rock?
And a game of 'Tag' could go
until you couldn't see the clock!
All my games were very active.
So much energy, people. WOW?!
But things have changed. It's different,
because I'm so much older now!
I still have Play Time at my age,
but the games are slow and rare.
I like board games, playing cards,
things you do right from your chair.
The games I watch can't be too long.
I'll fall asleep! I'm kind of nod-dy.
And I have to use my mind.
No running round now with this body.
Even so, I have to play!
It's my excuse to have a laugh.
I just have to keep it slow.
Don't want a charlie-horse in my calf!
SPOILER ALERT!!! The rain was still falling, but not enough to interrupt the match. Congratulations to Rafael Nadal, winner of the 2012 French Open!!!! This is his 7th French Open win, topping Bjorn Borg...Rarefied air!! :-)

Can't wait to see the cufflinks! Have a great day!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bead! You know I'll show ya!
DeleteGood morning!!!!! I'm thrilled that you like the treasury - it's been quite some time since I made one! I simply love your crochet necklace - it will be perfect to wear in the summer!!! :) Thank you for writing about Summertime Blues in your blog!!!! :)))
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Nat! :-) Yes, it was a really good treasury...I haven't done one in a while either. I think my desire to do it comes in spurts and I just go with it at that time. :-))...Thank you so much for the really nice comment about my necklace!! I hope people do consider it a good choice for the summer. Crochet gets such as bad "rap"...as only something you can wear during colder months. What a waste of all that color! ^_^
DeleteI'm happy for Nadal... he seems to be doing great.
ReplyDeleteNice treasury.
Nice week to you.
Yes, I'm happy for him too, Priscila! :-) He did play great! And so did Djokovic! But there can only be one winner. And this time it's "Baby Boy"!! ^_^ ... Enjoy the rest of your week too!
DeleteWell the weather here really is pants so please don't hold your breath with watching any tennis. Were all fed up with it now. I love these birds and chickens that were knitted there so cute ;-) And those crochet sandles are lovely and so is your new necklace design. Good luck with your little mans project. dee x
ReplyDeleteGuess what, Dee?!...I didn't get to watch it LIVE because none of the TV channels here were carrying it, but the match did go on, and I listened to it LIVE on the roland garros website. :-) A few minutes ago I also got to see it. One of the channels carried to replay...I'm glad you liked all of our crochet goodies! :-) I wish I was brave enough to try crocheting little animals again....but Ohhh no! My 'Baby Wuglyee' is IT!! LOL And, of course, my jewelry and lapel pins and stuff! ^_^
DeleteHello you top tennis fan of all time! I hope you enjoyed the matches this year. I wish some of that rain would head our way..very dry in Ohio now. I love those crazy birds...too funny. I also think those knitted sandals are cool. Have fun with your new projects and I hope all of your goods sell! Have a great week!
ReplyDelete^_^ Hello Yaya!...I did have fun with the French Open this year, didn't I ? ^_^ I'll try not to be as annoying with Wimbledon in a couple of weeks. LOL...And yes, I love those cute birdies too!!...and the colorful sandals!...Have a good week at the hospital! {How often does anyone say that to someone?! ^_^}
DeleteGreat post! Thanks so much for including my beaded bracelet. I am delighted that you love it!! Those crocheted sandals are super cute!! Have a great day! :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-) And it was my pleasure to include your bracelet. It's beautiful!
DeleteThose knitted birds look so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great treasury for your necklace to be included in. I really like the crocheted sandals and the cupcake soap. I would hate it if someone thought it was edible though. Yuk!
I guess it's unanimous....we all love the knitted birds!! :-)
