If You Were Looking In On Us Right Now....

Over the last two weeks or so, hubby and I have had a few challenges going on in our lives...with the knowledge that two of our friends have pretty serious Cancer diagnoses...the clue that maybe his mom is not handling things mentally as well as we thought she was...and my hormonal and lack of sleep issues!
And while some things remain a challenge,...No, life is not just a bowl of cherries!...

...if you were looking in on us right this very minute you would find that we're doing okay! :-] No, we haven't found a cure for Cancer...or senility for that matter!...and we haven't figured out how to bottle up hormones, or extract the actual sleep ingredient from the chocolate almond M&M :-) ...(you have to have seen yesterday's post to get that reference! ^_^)
But we 'did' get a whole lot of sleep last night. And, before that, we spent some time giggling about my hubby's writing abilities...(he's decided that he's gonna write the scripts for our couple's blog for a while. O_O I say Hey!...Do you!)...And even before that, we spent some spiritual time together discussing serious marital subjects involving introspectively looking at  ourselves and the people we know...(prompted by the Watchtower study for this morning's meeting..."Take A Positive View Of A Strained Marriage".) I can't wait for the discussion of it as a congregation later this morning!
If you were further looking in on us right now, you'd see that while hubby still isn't working outside the home, his presence is invaluable to me physically and mentally...In other words, I'm so glad he's not working right now! It's made my life so much easier to deal with!...And he's pretty good company too, even after almost 30 years of marriage. :-)

Our friends and family, while dealing with struggles on a daily basis, are happy positive-minded people, generally speaking, who just get on with it, and don't whine about the lot they have in life...much. :-)) And we all try to keep each other's emotional heads afloat as much as we can. :-)
I know, it sounds all flowery and sunshiny this morning....but that's only because it's ME that's writing this. You know how much I love a flower story! ^_^ ...

The truth is that it's the end of yet another week, and I just wanted to stop a minute and assess how things are with us...Do you ever do that?!...If someone were looking in on you right now, how would they find you and your family?!...Share! :-]
Sometimes you need to get off of the teeter totter of life and get some REAL balance!...and some breakfast. One down. I'm off to do the other now. LOL Have a good Sunday...a good rest of the weekend....a good start to the new week, everybody! :-)

Balance

You teeter totter, in the middle,
Lean a little, OOPS! You're off!
Now you know that you're not balanced,
and you hope the ground is soft.

It's not easy to achieve,
and once you have it, to maintain.
In almost every part of life
our balance is so hard to gain.

You have to balance your emotions,
how you eat, and how you spend.
And when you're balancing your checkbook,
try to keep a level grin.

Staying somewhere in the middle
takes a conscious, careful touch,
because it doesn't take a lot
to go from balanced to 'too much'!

So try to keep a balanced eye,
a balanced plate, and balanced life.
Keep your feelings all in check,
and minimize the stress and strife.

And don't compare your sense of balance
 to your neighbor's...you're alone.
Because your neighbor's also trying
to get some balance of his own!

  2. Wugs, my Grumpy Prince is around a lot too and I'm so happy for his company.

If people were to look inside they would see that we're all hanging out together. Could things be better, sure, but we're all happy and healthy and we'll take that!

    Enjoy your company Wugs!

    Have a great Sunday!

  3. It's hard to know what goes on behind closed doors. Sometimes couples seem like they are so happy and their life is perfect and then we hear about divorce or other troubles. I think balance is the most important thing along with communication in a marriage. Our life has had it's ups and downs, but thankfully we hang in there and realize that even when the storms are raging, we're in our "ark" waiting for the dove to reappear! And we try to figure out things together and keep a sense of humor. Throw in a strong faith in God and you can get through anything!

    1. Yaya, You're so right about not knowing what goes on behind closed doors. Everyone is just doing the best they can most times...And the only thing I would change for us in your statement is that we start with our strong faith in God...and then everything else peels off from there. Even at times when we've barely been able to stand each other...^_^...we're always aware that Jehovah God sees something valuable in the other one...and it makes things so much better. When your first and true love is God...and then your spouse...it makes life a sure place to work from. Love comes easy after that. :-) I only wish all of those 50% of marriages headed for divorce could look beyond themselves!...Thanks for sharing, Yaya. :-]

  4. I'm so glad that you are getting to spend lots of quality time with hubby. Even though Mark is home too it doesn't feel like we actually get a lot of time together. He's either asleep or off in his 'man cave' messing about with his computers or the ham radio. At least I know where he is & that he's not down at the pub/hotel having a beer:D

    1. ^_^ You made me smile, talking about the 'man cave'. Hubby's not in his 'man cave' because his 'man cave' became my craft room! LOL He used to have one, with all of his 'man stuff' in there...t.v., stereo, etc...now his 'man cave' is wherever he wants...but not designated to on spot anymore! LOL...I much prefer him spending time with me anyway!
