Artisans of Western Mass

The peacefuness of my backyard reflects my state of calm these days. The mind in back!!! LOL

 As a tribute to my returned calm, I spent a lot of my relaxed time yesterday getting to know the new team I just joined recently, The Artisans of Western Mass. http://www.artisansofwmass.com/ I went to the site, scrolled down the list of shops, and checked out each one of them...including going to their Facebook pages and 'Like'-ing them!
  I am thrilled to be in this group! They're  wonderfully organized and offer a variety of quality products,  made by hand and locally produced. The varied talents of the team include yarn and textile arts, painting, drawing, jewelry craft, hand made body care, upcycled creations and much more.
   I didn't think I would be this excited about being a member of another team, considering my extreme disappointment with another group I was associated with recently. I won't get into the details of that because I would be here all day...and that's not my style anyway! Just let me say that the communication with my new team has been superb! http://www.facebook.com/artisansofwmass As refreshing as a cold glass of lemonade on a hot day!

  It's gonna take me a while to REALLY get to know how everything works because I am so SLOW when it comes to knowing my way around computer thing-a-ma-bobs! LOL I've got to figure out how to, and where to, look for schedules of local events; what would be the best ways to be supportive of other group members; and how my physical limitations can be worked around in order to be a visible member of the team. I have no doubt I'll figure it out,...or someone will help me figure it out!

Meeting new friends

You wear a nervous smile,
and your hand is kind of sweaty,
while you're sizing them all up,
trying not to be too petty.

It's always kind of hard
when you meet somebody new.
When you're newly kind of clumsy
gaining knowledge of who's who.

But eventually the day
slowly curves around the bend
when you finally know each other
and you call each other "friend"!
