Watermelon Is Only The First.....!

      I had my first piece of watermelon yesterday. YUM! YUM! It was delicious too!
      Frankly, I didn't think it was gonna be that good, because that's been my experience with watermelon in this area, at this time of year! When I was about to take a bite I thought more about how refreshed and hydrated I would be...especially after all that sleeping I did yesterday!!
    But I was surprised and delighted to find that it was wet....YES! LOL...But also sweet and scrumptious to boot! ^_^
     Okay, enough watermelon talk!...I have to tell you a couple of things. First, in case you haven't seen it already, I now have a special post area set up for whenever I have a GIVEAWAY. (Which will continue to be 2 times a month) If you look on the right side bar you'll see the picture of whatever will be the GIVEAWAY, and the link will now always take you to "GIVEAWAY Central".
     "GIVEAWAY Central" is not a place to post comments or entries, but it's a place for all of the pictures and info about whatever GIVEAWAY I'll have going at the time. I thought this would be simpler than having you have to scroll down and find the item being given away in amongst my chatter! LOL What do you think?! {The GIVEAWAY for May 15th is posted there now!}
     Next, I want to tell you that the Yoyo bag begins today!! I'm still trying to mentally figure out what colors are gonna go where, but generally-speaking these are the ones I'm using...
      I don't know if I'll end up using all of them, or which ones will be beside which ones. But I'm READY for this!!! I'm excited about having something crochet-wise to sink my teeth into. Not for my Wuglyees shop though...My poor, sad, cricket listening, slowed down, no sales producing, no-traffic-this-time-of-year-getting, Wuglyees shop! :-(
     And I'm not listing nothing else in there right now either! I'm not in the mood for rejection right now. And I'm not in the mood for running back and forth from Twitter to Facebook, from Facebook to my shop, from...etc....just to check and see if anybody is looking at my stuff!! Right now I want to take the mindset of "I know my work is good. But I also know my work is not for everybody. That being said, I'm not chasing after anybody with a "desperate" sign on my forehead any more right now! If they think it's a "bigger mousetrap"....so to speak...let them beat a path to my door! If not, C'est la vie!!" ......O_0 Too much?!!!
     WHATEVER!!!! LOL
      At least Mintook kinda likes my work! :-) {Her shop was one of the ones with the lace covered rocks!} She added my Purple Chic Chenille Crochet Scarf...
         ...to her Treasury entitled My Favorites Colors In My Garden.
     Thank you!!!! :-] ... Okay, I'm done talking for today! LOL Except for my poem of course. :-) And in keeping with Mintook, for the treasury.....Alittlesprite, for the Yoyo bag pattern...the Holyoke Happy Makers, for all of my lotions and goodies I've been thoroughly enjoying the last few days...and my hubby, who just is a generous soul to send my life and time on the earth with...I wrote this poem. {In fact, I woke up in the middle of the night and had to write it down. The main lines of it woke me up and wouldn't let me go back to sleep until it was on paper!! ^_^} Enjoy it all YOU generous commenters too!! And have a good rest of the day...wherever you are!

Generosity

Generosity
is what the clouds give to the sky;
It's what a tear gives to an eye;
and why 'Spring' growth knows 'Fall' must die.

Generosity
is when abundance can be good;
and when you give more than you should;
because the world's your neighborhood.

Generosity
is what the flower gives to the bee;
It's what the waves give to the sea;
and it's what you all give to me!

  1. Sweet poem my friend!!! I felt a tear well up in my eyes.
    As far as shop slowness is concerned, don't fret...you're NOT alone here! People are emptying the pocketbooks putting gas in their cars these days, buying groceries and paying bills! Who has money for anything else? I don't! So don't take it personal!
    I LOVE the color scheme for your bag!!! I want to see it when its done for sure!
    I love your giveaway this time too, but I'm not entering just because I have so many throws, I wouldn't know what to do with another one! But it is really pretty Wug!!!

  16. Cathy, Here's my tip for picking a good watermelon: Make sure the stub...the connecting stem...is brownish, but not mushy. Make sure that it has a worn section underneath, showing it's been sitting in one spot for a while...but not mushy! (It'll be over-ripe) And last, thump it! it should sound like it's full of water, not thick. I hope that helps a little. It's not a perfect recipe, but I've gotten much better at picking good ones using these tips!..And welcome to "Cricket Central"!! LOL

  17. Oh, I can't wait until watermelon season here in NC. For now, I'm enjoying all of the strawberries. :)

  18. Shannon, Oh yes, the strawberries!! They're delicious now too!...And actually, it's not watermelon season around here until around September! But I think the watermelon we had was transported from somewhere else. Our supermarket has a huge fresh produce section from all over the place! All I know is that it was GOOOOOD!!! ^_^

  21. Alittlesprite, Yes, I started it and it's going pretty easy...except I need to know what size each of the yoyos is suppose to be. I crochet very tight and I usually have to adjust the needle size from what other people use. I'm using a size F hook, whereas the pattern calls for a size D...And enjoy the pumpkins, and pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, etc.... LOL

  22. Alittlesprite, You're entered!!! :-)

  23. I'm not sure what size, because I used the crochet cotton to make mine, and they are just over an inch in diameter. My guess is to just keep working with your F hook and keep the same tension and you should be fine. Maybe hold off cutting the lining out until you have finished doing the crochet part of the bag, because it may be slightly bigger.

  24. Alittlesprite, Ohhhh! That's smaller than mine for sure! Although, did you mean inches or centimeters?! LOL Looks like I'm gonna have some sorta large beach bag!! ^_^ And I never cut linings until afterwards anyway. And it's the one thing I HATE about making bags...the linings! UGH!! Maybe I'll send it to you and let you put the lining in it for me!! Isn't that so nice of me?!! LOL
