Chocolate Mint For Breakfast...Just What The Doctor Ordered!

I know it's kinda early in the morning...at least it is here!...to be talking about chocolate and mint, but I needed something to focus on that wasn't about being poked and prodded, pushed and stared at...by the doctor! O_O
Yep! I've got a doctor's appointment today...*gulp!*...I really HATE the doctor!!...Well, not just THIS doctor...ANY doctor!...I can't wait until hospitals, medication, tests, and doctors become obsolete and a thing of our distant past!...But in the meantime...thanks to Mary Sclafani...I've got Chocolate Mint! :-)

Okay....so it's a treasury, and not actually something eatable. But, that's actually a good thing today.  That means that it's not fattening, and not something the doctor can chastise me about! :-) ... Although I'm sure he'll find something! LOL
Here's some of the other things in this 'drool-worthy' treasury!...

       .....INCLUDING....my chocolate mint, long-named, 'baby'! :-) ...

Now, when the doctor is asking me all those probing personal questions, I can let my mind wander off into a pretend chocolate mint world...a little. :-] He won't have any idea that when he's asking me: "When was the last time you....?" I'll be thinking: "The last time I had a mint chocolate ice cream sundae was......!" ^_^

In other news: hubby found out that we had eight messages on our voice mail...since March 3rd or something!...that neither one of us knew were there! And once we did know they were there...we didn't know how to retrieve them! LOL
We had to call the phone company, get a new password, and then figure out how to call the number so we could figure out how to use the new password so we could listen to the messages!.....Aargh!...Old People!! LOL
Most of the messages were people who had called that number, but when we didn't respond, they had called our other number. :-) ... All of them except one, that is...*gulp!*...It was someone who had heard about hubby's being let go from his job and who wanted to offer him either a part time or a full time job!!!! :-/ ...The message was left in the middle of March...over two, or now, three weeks ago! :-( ...Hubby is gonna call them first thing this morning and apologize that he didn't call sooner. And then see what the job entails and if it's a good fit for us.
He also has his unemployment appeal hearing this week...*another gulp!*...We're praying something great comes out of one of these things...the job offer or the hearing. I'll let you know!...You know I will! ^_^
Okay, off to relax, take some deep breaths, and pretty myself up for the doctor! Have a good day, Everybody! :-)

 Hello Doctor

Hello Doctor! How are you?!
Me?!...I guess I'm doing fine.
Yes, I take my medication.
No, my heart has not flat lined.

Yes, I know I'm getting older.
No, I'm not a basket case.
Yes, I'm drinking all my water.
No, I'm not making a face!

Doctor, you are so funny.
Not 'ha! ha!'...The things you ask!
And I'm not sure how to answer.
Who knew questions were a task?!

Bye, bye Doctor! It's been nice,
like root canals done at the Mall.
Yes, I'll see you next go round.
No, I won't forget to call!

    1. ^_^ How right you are!!...You should've seen me mentally trying to convince myself that $11.00 wasn't that bad, but paying $8.00 to get it shipped to me is a little steep for jobless people right now! LOL Oh! My clicker finger and I battled!!!

  2. That's a lot of gulps in one day, dear Deb! I know you are so good though at taking things one step at a time. First of all, I wish you a good and helpful doctor's visit. And then, of course, I hope that hubby's job situation improves dramatically!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed... Hugs, Silke

  3. Hahaha! Love the poem. I feel the same way about visiting the Doc..and I even work with them! I remember the one time I was visiting my GYN doc...I work with him on Fridays and my appointment was on Thursday..so when he was doing the "dirty deed" exam he asks me: "So, are you in my OR room tomorrow?"..My response: "Are you kidding me? Hey, let's just pretend I don't know you and you don't know me..just do this and let me go home!" When anyone complains to me about having a pelvic exam I always say: "How would you like it to be done by your boss?"..then go to work the next day and see him? That usually ends the conversation! Hope the job offer is a good one and I love all the chocolate mint too! P.S...good luck with the appointment!

  4. Chocolate and mint make a perfect combination be it in food or color. It's never fun visiting any doctor. I hope your appointment went well. I hope you treated yourself to something chocolate and minty after your visit to the doctors office. My fingers are crossed for your husband concerning the job situation.

    1. Julie, you are so right about it never being fun to have a doctor's visit! I'm glad mine is over!...All is well, by the way. :-) And afterward had catfish and cornbread and a cup of coffee. Chocolate and mint will have to wait until tomorrow. I couldn't get my hands on any today! ^_^...Hubby's job prospect is on a call back...maybe tomorrow...Thanks for the nice comment, and have a good evening!
