I'm Curious...What's For Breakfast Where YOU Live?!

When I was a little girl, growing up in the south, Sunday morning breakfasts...Well, EVERY breakfast really!...was a big deal! Especially on my Grandparents's farm. They raised their own pigs, kept lots of chickens in a coop, and my Granny was the 'from-scratch-cookingness' woman you ever met! ^_^
Breakfast at my Granny's consisted of biscuits she made herself, with milk she squeezed straight from the cow;...blackberry preserves, that she picked and canned herself!;...bacon, from said other non-milking cows, that my granddaddy butchered himself...O-U-C-H!...;...eggs, from the chickens in the coop, that I went and got right from under their warm bottoms ^_^ ;...and even the butter that she used for the biscuits had been churned by my Granny...and any one of us she could snag to sit on the porch and get to plunge the stick up and down in the 'churn'...for hours it seemed!
All that being said....I loved breakfast time!!...LOVED it!! And still do! :-) But what I eat for breakfast has changed quite a bit!...Truth is, I will eat almost anything for breakfast. Mostly because, with my sleeping issues....Yeah, I'm talking about my sleeping issues this week! Crochet week is over!! LOL

(Breakfast Art Print by lovelysweetwilliam)

As I was saying, with my sleeping issues, breakfast could turn out to be any time of the day!...So I don't limit myself to conventional "breakfast food", because I don't know when I'm gonna be up! Some days I miss the conventional time of the day for breakfast altogether! So seeing me with a chicken salad, leftover stew, tuna casserole or even a beef patty for breakfast, is not that unusual for me....generally speaking.
Lately though, with me getting a bit more sleep, and hubby really getting into planning meals, we've been more conscious about what we eat for breakfast.

Now I'm curious if what's we're eating is typical, or not. And I'm curious about what other people around the world eat! What do you generally have for breakfast?...I found these on Etsy...

Cool, right?! :-) ... Not as good as what I had for breakfast this morning, though!...Only because I had entertainment along with my breakfast. :-)) Hubby decided to regale me with humorous jokes! LOL
Hubby: "Hey, When is a deer not a deer?....When it's a doe !...*Ha! Ha!*...When is a doe not a deer?!....When it's ajar!...Ha! Ha! Ha!"...O_O ..."Very funny dear!" LOL...While he was telling jokes, he was eating...

I was so enthralled that I missed taking pictures of what he was eating!! ^_^

I can tell you about it though! It was turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, and oatmeal! :-) Thankfully I can show you the oatmeal, because I was eating the same thing!...

My oatmeal didn't have milk in it though...

...Not even a little bit! Some things, with my stomach, should not be eaten with breakfast!! LOL...Oh yeah, did I mention that the oatmeal had fresh strawberries and bananas in it too?! :-)

YUM!!!...And the strawberries smelled almost as good as they tasted too!!...YAY! for breakfasts!!! ^_^

I also got one other thing for breakfast this morning.....a sale in my Wuglyees Etsy shop!! ^_^

Right after my meeting this morning....spiritual food ^_^...I'll have to get it ready for shipping! :-) ....Okay, I'm gonna get a little sip of my green tea....Nope! Not coffee this morning. Although.......! ^_^... Okay, I gotta get going! Have a good day everybody!

  I Like A Cuppa

I find I like a 'Cuppa' soup
when it's chilly out the door;
And I like a 'Cuppa' tea
every day around four.

And I like a 'Cuppa' coffee...
not a decaf 'Cuppa'...NO!...
any time of day or night
I like my steaming 'Cuppa' Joe!

  2. Deb, you're talking about a good dream... a perfect breakfast at Granny's. Everything fresh and local. My grandparents have a farm and I remember having fresh cow milk. Yummy.
Hope your day is going fantastic.

    1. Yes, Priscila...it's a long time memory for me, because both of my grandparents are gone now. Even the farm no longer exists. It's all alive still in my mind though. :-) And between you and I, I was never a fan of warm cow milk straight from the cow...YUCK! I guess I wasted too much time trying to milk the cow in order to get that milk!...and had to get out of the way too many times when the cow's tail was fanning for flies too! ^_^

    1. She really was an amazing woman, Dee, in so many different ways too! I could write a book about my experiences with her...and maybe one day I will! :-] ... By the way, your clusters of nuts and oats cereal sounds delicious! And dried coconuts are one of my favorite things! And putting breakfast out on all on your good china...another favorite thing I like to do too! Somehow it makes the food taste better, doesn't it?! :-) Well, have a good and creative day, Dee!

  4. Breakfast at your Granny's place sounded like it was amazing! Your breakfast sounded pretty good too :)
Today I had toast with sliced tomatoes topped with cottage cheese. Not as exciting as your Granny's menu was.

    1. Thanks for reminding me how long it's been since I had one of my favorite meals, Jo! I LOVE to lay 2 slices of pineapple down, top it with cottage cheese, fresh ripened tomatoes and lettuce...with a little sprinkle of black pepper. YUM!!! So good!...Maybe I'll have that for breakfast today! ^_^
