My post yesterday, the story of my chairs, was kinda heavy. So I decided to lighten things up today with a heavy story of a different kind...elephants! :-)) I've been seeing them everywhere, and I think they're so cute!
Of course an elephant clock would be my focal point this morning, considering that it's now 3:30 a.m.!! ^_^ But it's not a 'lack' of sleep this time. It's more like 'inopportune' sleep. I went to bed too early I think...a little after 9:00 p.m. And I slept straight through too...six whole hours!
So what if I woke up seeing elephants!....Are you trying to make something out of it?!! LOL
I'm not the only one seeing elephants either! Susan, of SusanD1408 Crochet Addict blog, did a post recently too on elephants --> HERE. She found even more things than I did! Though some of ours were the same...like the blue wall clock above, the pattern for this stuffed toy...
...and this jewelry...

What is the fascination with elephants all of a sudden anyway?!...I suppose I could ask myself that question, seeing as here I am at this hour of the morning doing a post about them! ^_^
And just look at these!...

And then there is the photo of this decal being used (below)...It definitely has me re-thinking this being up at 3:30 a.m. thing! LOL...
It makes me yawn...*yawn*...just looking at it...I guess you know what that means! ^_^ It's back to bed for me!...*yawn*...Have a good weekend, Everybody! :-)
Weekend
Weekend Folderol;
Lollygagging, having fun;
Makes working up to Friday
worth the paperwork you've done.
Your job, all week, came first,
but now it's time for a little jaunt;
or to lay around the house
and just do nothing, if you want!
A little this. A little that.
A bit of fun had out of doors.
A little weeding in the garden.
And a little bit of chores.
Some weekend folderol,
all alone or with your friends.
Or some chit chat with your neighbors,
new acquaintances or kin.
A Weekend that's all planned,,
or simply finding things to do;
Because every Monday will be back
and you'll need something to look forward to!

I love elephants too. Makes me think I should re list or renew my elephant necklace. Maybe someone is out there waiting to buy it....who knows!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and Saturday. It's a travel home day for us. :(
Hard to leave this all behind. What a wonderful week we've had (except for the sad news last weekend).
Yes, Bead! Re-list and renew that elephant necklace! It looks like that's what's selling these days...BIG TIME! If I had some cute elephant buttons, I'd probably be making elephant lapel pins too! ^_^ ...Have a safe trip home, my sister. Unfortunately, everything you left...emotionally speaking...will be there when you get back. But hopefully you'll be refreshed and renewed enough to deal with it. I know you will, because you won't be alone. :-)
DeleteDeb, I once was told that if you are gifted an elephant with his trunk and tusks in the air that it is a good luck symbol. Not sure this is true but that is what I was told. Great post. Hugs, Velma
ReplyDeleteI've heard all of that too, Velma. But I don't put any stock in beliefs like that, one way or the other. I just think that they're a wonderful creation of God's. And amazing animals. That makes them pretty cool in my book! ^_^ Have a good rest of the night, Vel!
DeleteWhen I was a teen one of my Dad's golfing friends used to collect elephants. Well he didn't but his wife did. I am sure that she would love the ones you've shared
ReplyDeleteYeah, my step-mom collected them too...glass, ceramic, plastic, hand-painted, jeweled, etc...She just loved them! When she passed away my father distributed some of them as gifts to her siblings and family. :-]
