A Honey Of A Sunday!

There's a bit of a nip in the air this morning. Ahhhhh!...Fall! :-) The truth be told, Fall, or any day, is good when you haven't been burned out of your home by a husband trying to make chicken and grits! LOL (If you missed it, you'll have to see yesterday's post if you wanna know the full story.)
I got a good night's sleep though. Maybe it was that extra hour last night. :-)) If you haven't turned your clocks back yet, it may not be the time you think it is! ^_^ ...And I didn't look at hardly any television yesterday. I needed a break from all of the sadness of hurricane Sandy reports.
Instead of television,  I used my crocheting to distract myself...and some studying. I won't show you my studied Watchtower though. You'll just have to trust me that it's done. ^_^ But I will show you the result of my crocheting!..

Today I'm gonna work on some solid colored ones. I have an idea about some sewing thread and floss combination lapel pins too. I may try those tomorrow. I'm craving more texture for my lapel pins...like tweed...or plaid....I'll let you know how it works out. :-)

I have a couple of other things to share with you before I take off to get ready for my meeting this morning. One is just an interesting item...a one of a kind for me...that I saw on Etsy...

I never saw or heard of an insect hotel for your garden! But now that I've seen it, it totally makes sense!...In the description Mike says that it's designed for friendly solitary bees, such as leafcutter and mason bees to nest in. He says that solitary bees aren't aggressive, so they're a great addition to your garden...Who knew?!...Not me!
I think this is what got me to thinking about the honey though. You know, honey....bees.....honey bees! ^_^ And yes, I'm sure they're not the same kind of bees!....Well, I'm sure of it NOW! LOL
Anyway!...Mike says that ladybugs, lacewings and probably even spiders will use your insect hotel....Uhhhhh.....re-calculating my desire to have one in our garden now! LOL...But YOU probably can have some pretty pollinated flowers in your garden with an insect hotel! ^_^

The last thing I wanna share with you is the treasury my little daisy boutonniere was put in!...

The title of the treasury is "What Color Leaf Fall?"...

 (by anstyle)

A couple of other items that jumped out at me from this treasury were this gorgeous quilt...

       ...and this gorgeous necklace...

If you'd like to see the other colorful items just click on the treasury above.

Okay, I'm off!...Have a good day, with peaceful moments, and a good rest of the weekend too, Everybody! :-)

Peaceful Moments

Peace is what I'm after.
No concerns to vex my head.
No disturbing complications.
No emotions to be read.

Peaceful contemplation.
Mental 'Playing in the yard'.
No "You have to do this!" wording.
Nothing strenuous or hard.

Quiet, simple peace.
No one's problems I should fix.
No concentrated effort.
No new wrinkles in the mix.

Yes, peace is what I'm after.
Nothing pressing me 'to do'.
I want peaceful little moments.
And I'm gonna get them too!

    1. WOW! Really?!!...And it's sounds like her bug hotel is a fancy one too! I'm sure she must have gorgeous flowers in her garden too then, right?! :-) I'd love to see hers!...And thank you for the nice words about my flowers..And the meeting was great! We had a guest speaker come to give the talk. He used to be in our congregation. It was sooooo nice seeing how much he's matured!....It's either that he's matured, or we're getting old fast!! LOL You see which one I chose to believe, right?! ^_^
