The idiom about being 'a day late and a dollar short' has to do with how people can sometimes be late and ill-prepared for things...and that's me today! 'Late' because I was suppose to do this post yesterday! It's title is Rainy Tuesdays...!...See what I mean?! ^_^ Aargh! I'm a day late!...
Anyway!...Thanks to SunshineTextiles for adding my Chocolate Nut Brownie on a Rainy Day Crochet Shawl Scarf...
...And for adding some other really cute things I like too, including the mug in the header photo, and these...
And please forgive me for sharing your treasury on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday, and on a day when it's NOT raining, because the rain is not due until tomorrow, which is a Thursday and not a Tuesday! LOL...*shaking my head*
I'm also a day late to show you what I've been working on lately...Headbands! :-) I know...you're asking yourself: "Why headbands, Poetesswug?"...And the answer is: "uhhhh...I don't know!" LOL
Not really. I know why...but the answer is just as random as me saying: "Uhhh...I don't know!"... ^_^ ...because it started with me seeing this in one of my Etsy searches...

Isn't that a cute headband?! :-) And as soon as I saw that crocheted flower on it.....I was 'in'!! :-) And 'off'!...to make some headbands of my own!...
This is the one I started with. It's three strands of yarn crocheted together....I'm all about warmth when it comes to a winter-time headband. It's brown and red...
...and it has one of my large vintage old buttons on it. The button is half black and half white...
I made it to fit a 21 inch round head...because that's the size of Shequita's head (my body-less model)...I would've had some pictures of Shequita with the headband on for you to see, but the 'daylight saving time' is not saving enough time for my resident photographer (hubby) to get out there and take them! He's leaving home in the dark, and coming home in the dark now! Aargh!...He's due home early today though, so we'll see if I can get a few shots today.
You're late seeing the headband though...or should I say 'headbands'?!...because I finished another one already! ^_^
This one is made of two specialty yarns, one being angel hair. It's very very soft!..And I used the little pinback pin that I won in the recent Giveaway, instead of a regular button...
I thought it gave the headband more character...What do you think?!...
And guess what?...I've already started another one!...
This one is three strands of Caron Simply Soft yarn. Black, gray and white...
I'm a bit further along than these photos now. I'll probably be all done with it before the rain gets here tomorrow...or at least I hope so!...O-U-C-H-I-E-ness is definitely gonna slow me down.
Are you wondering where the 'dollar short' part comes in?!.....It's always in!!! LOL But since I ....
(also by AbsoluteJewelry)
....I didn't elaborate on that part!! ^_^
One thing's for sure...I'm never short on something to talk about! ^_^ And tomorrow.......I'll try to be on time, prepared, and more myself than ever!! You'll have to come back and see if I accomplish it! Ha! Ha!...Have a good day everybody!! :-)
Daylight
Daylight, you bring such happiness,
shining on the Autumn hues.
And when you're gone, you leave more darkness,
bringing on some moody blues.
How could some light, or lack of it,
have me waxing poetic rhyme,
wishing for a place with celestial money,
so I could buy some Daylight Saving Time?!
And Oh Yeah! Don't forget to enter the Giveaway for the scarf!! (See sidebar)

ReplyDeleteIt's kind of funny that you shared all of these rainy day treasures. We had a HUGE storm hit our state late yesterday. Lots of rain, thunder, lightning & hail.
ReplyDeleteI like the headbands you've made. Would you believe I have even thought about making myself one recently? You may have inspired me :D
