You Ever Hear A Song That Makes You Wanna Take A Back Road?!

It's a quiet Sunday morning around here. Hubby just made me a delicious breakfast...grits, bacon, cheese and toast...and we're listening to some new Country songs we just recently heard for the first time.  So I'm not gonna get into anything deep this morning. I'm just gonna share one of the songs with you and share some photos hubby took yesterday.
It was a perfect song to share with his photos, because it reminded us of times when we would just ride around, taking back roads, so we could listen to music. Have you ever heard a song that would almost make you wanna 'Take A Back Road'?!...Maybe you can click the song and then look at the photos while it's playing. :-)

The reservoir is looking so pretty...especially to music. :-) I'm glad he got pictures of it, so we could enjoy it in photos, because the whole scene is gonna look so different in the winter!
Okay...gotta go. But I'll leave you with one more song...that's all I wanna do!
Have a good rest of your Sunday Everybody!

Beauty

The sun is peeking through.
Its beam is flowing to the ground.
The Autumn at it's new peak,
and the leaves are fluttering down.

A baby girl's joyous laughing,
legs and arms kicking everywhere.
A mother, when she's  nursing,
playing with her baby's  hair.

The gentle rain, when falling
on a southern old tin roof.
A toddler's gap-faced grinning,
when they've  lost their first front tooth.

A man with long, bow legs,
walking slowly down the street.
A colorful spring flower,
visited by a bumble bee.

A person who is kind,
and smiles at everyone they meet.
An artist's painted picture,
with the last brush stroke complete.

An "I love you" that's said
just because they wanted to;
and the person that gives hugs
when they hear an "I love you".
(And there's  other beauty too.)

  2. Silke, Thank you! I'm so glad you liked them...There's nothing like riding in the car, dashboard dancing and listening to good songs. :-) And yes, hubby is becoming a pretty good photographer. It's turned into a really great hobby for him, thanks to my blogging. :-) A win/win for both of us!...Have a good rest of the day, Silke. You and Daniel.

  4. gill, I'm glad to hear it! Enjoy it!...And 'grits' (i.e. Wikipedia)is 'food of American Indian origin common in the Southern United States and mainly eaten at breakfast. They consist of coarsely ground corn, or sometimes alkali-treated corn (hominy). They are also sometimes called sofkee or sofkey from the Muskogee (Creek) language word. Grits are similar to other thick maize-based porridges from around the world, such as polenta, or the thinner farina...' And they're good with gravy or cheese too!! :-)

  6. Everyone at work makes fun of me because I love John Denver...but he always made me want to head out on a country road! Now I live down one and it does "take me home"...Your pics are really pretty. What a great way to spend a beautiful fall day. Whenever I see grits I'm reminded of my dear southern Mother-in-law! I don't make them but I always have a container of them in my pantry in her memory..silly I know but I also know she would truly appreciate it!

Hubby took some really nice ones. Of course our local scenery helped. :-))...And lastly I just want to say: "Eat them grits girl!" LOL Saute' some steak and onions or some catfish and put them on top of those grits and eat to your hearts content! Any southern Mama would appreciate that! :-)

  13. Totally agree! Great photos. I like to listen to the music from Out of Africa when I'm out in nature. The other day I just wanted some classics. I downloaded Moon River, Born Free and What a Wonderful World.

  14. Susan, Oooo! I love your music choices! Moon river is one of my all time favorites, and I love born free and the music themed classical music too. I'm listening to theme music from one of Jane Austen's movies right now...Thanks for sharing with me. :-]
