Well, almost everyone, you see...Your beauty's not convincing me!
I know the mountains that you top...
and that from you new growth will pop...
I know long highways you will line...
and wonderlands you'll make of pine...
I know the skies that frown at you...
Yeah, I have done some frowning too!!
I haven't loved the piled up snow, impeding how we have to go!...Or walkways covered by your lace,...
Or your intrusion in every place!...
How you clog up streets from day to night,...
and then it freezes....that's not right!
But...Oh! Your beauty when first you fall!
Did no one make you...after all?!
So, how could you ever ruin my day....When you give animals a place to play?!
Beautiful, cold and wintry foe....at least you inspired my ode to snow!!
Yes, I see things deep when I look at you...But I'm afraid that's what poets do! ^_^
{Since my whole post was a poem today...THE END! ^_^ Except for great thanks to Mariann Rea of littlefoxphotos, for the use of all of her wonderful photos; and to crankycats on Etsy for the use of the crankycats print...Have a good day everybody!! I hope you're not too snowed in!! :-)}
Wug, this is a fabulous post!! Mariann will LOVE it!! I sure do! I wish I had looked in her shop for items for my treasury though. I would have snatched up that photo of the park bench for sure! Your poem is exquisite this morning! You are always outdoing yourself! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post Deb! Marianne's pictures are lovely! Does this mean you are snowed in today? We have yet to get our first snow here in my are of NY. I am not a fan of it either! But you are so right.....so pretty when it first falls!
ReplyDeleteCinLynn, Thank you so much! I hope she does like it. She had so many beautiful photos that she let me look through! It was hard to pick just these ones. The poem was easy. My mind thinks like that. Can't take credit for that! I'm just trying to use it before it, like my body, completely peters out!!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteCathy, Thank you so much!!! And no.....not yet I should say, about the snow. It's been threatening, but so far we've just gotten ridiculous amounts of rain. Today it's 26 degrees...definitely cold enough for snow, but there's been no sighting yet! Shhhhhh! ^_^
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! The poem and the pics of course are great! Well done, Debbie!!! You work so good with my little girl ;) And YES we're snowing in, it still snows :D
ReplyDeleteWOW! You have outdone yourself again!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI thought you would only choose a couple of pics but this is a lot! Haha
I love the poem too!! Goes well with the pics :)
♥♥♥ THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ♥♥♥
It's tough making it in this business but days like these make you feel SO much better about yourself and your work so I really do appreciate this! :)
Reet, Thank you so much!!! :-) Your little girl is a very good photographer...as if you didn't know that already, right?! ^_^ I guess all those lovely photos is a good reason to enjoy the snow too! Thanks for your nice comment!
ReplyDeleteMariann, You are very very welcome! And you're right, it can be tough out here! That's why support is so important...to get you through the bad....and snowed in...days!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteDEb, That is such a beautiful poem. I love how you used all those wonderful pictures. You are such an amazing talented person. Oh and I am snowed in, more like iced in. :(
ReplyDeleteSnowflakeDreams1, I'm so glad you liked my poem! And Mariann's photos were great inspiration!!...I saw your blog about expecting more snow today. WOW!!! I hope you have lots of comfort food and some games to play!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteDeb, I have my chocolate chip cookies and my Reese's mini cups so I should be ok today. Tomorrow my husband will be taking me in his big pick-up to the Tri-Cities to do our grocery shopping. The car can't handle this stuff.
ReplyDeleteSnowflakeDreams1, Oh! You poor thing! :-/ Nothing to keep you company but CHOCOLATE!!! How do I get to your house again?!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I did not need to see! :] I've been craving snow since July! :] That picture with the deer is the cutest thing I've seen in quite some time. Hope you have a warm weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting to hear how the weather affects us all in different countries. We in U.K. are having some difficulties, with the snow and it is so very cold too.
ReplyDeleteI admire your command of words, they seem to flow so easily from you,so clever!!
Lovely pics from Marian

Hollie, Craving snow?! Do you feel alright?! I have to go and check again to see where you live!! It must be an incredibly warm climate with no knowledge of snow!!! ^_^ {It is pretty to look at though, isn't it?!}
ReplyDeletemythreebeez, I agree about the weather's effect in different areas. Here in Massachusetts we are about to start getting what I affectionately refer to as 'the messy stuff' real soon. The temperatures have turned to below 30, perfect for the snow. I'm sure I'll be taking backyard snow pictures soon!...That doesn't mean I'm entirely happy about it though! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAnother great post! I love the pictures you chose to go with your poem.
ReplyDeleteAfter today's warmth & humidity I kind of wish we got some of that snow.
Jo-anne, Ha! Ha! I saw your post earlier about that. I guess we humans are never completely happy...no matter what the weather is! ^_^
