I love the word 'fascinating'...but it's one of those words that people sometimes use when what they're talking about isn't really fascinating at all. More like 'interesting'....or 'cool'...'captivating'...or even 'strange'. :-] But fascinating, in my opinion, is one of those words that calls for the subject of its attention to be more than 'normal'. Maybe even excitingly different!
Fascinating is what I would call the photography in my header photo....and it's what I would have called the weather in our area yesterday. After days and days of rain...we had an excitingly different sunny and beautiful day! :-) ...What was fascinating about it was seeing how thoroughly the birds, children and flowers basked in it!...and I must say, in that respect, it was pretty fascinating...for us too!
Some things were not so fascinating around here yesterday. I'll tell you about that in a minute...But first I wanna show you the fascinating things I found on Etsy! :-)
Do you know what they are?!....They're felt leaf hair clips!...When I first saw them I was puzzled. I thought maybe they were drink coasters or something. Let's face it, what caught my eye was the COLORS!! ^_^ ...But then I saw the other photos...
Cute to wear....and fascinating in their construction! :-) ...They made me start thinking about how maybe I should put hair clips on the back of some of my crochet flowers!!...Hmmmmm!....Anyway, 'way to go' OrdinaryMommy!
Something else fascinating I came across yesterday is these washed denim fabric storage containers!...
What a fascinating idea!...and what a fascinating mind the idea for using them this way must have come from! :-)
Now this one (below) is truly fascinating!...especially for you avid, yet fun-loving, readers...
A bookmark that's a pair of black and red Louboutin shoes with gold glitter! ^_^ Fascinating!!!...You didn't see that coming, did you?! ^_^
Well, guess what?!....She has a whole shop full of these!...Dark skin, bare feet...
I know what you're thinking!...this kinda reminds you of an old movie.....an old movie with some munchkins! LOL...Well, it did me too!...And you know what? This shop owner must've thought about the movie too, because...
...Yep! A bookmark inspired by The Wizard Of Oz!...It's fascinating to me how the brain can remember and store useless information...like about movies you saw in your childhood...and then you see a simple pair of striped stockings and can have scenes from the movie, along with music and script lines, come flooding back to the frontal lobe!! LOL...Anyway!...the invention of this very different kind of bookmark is indeed fascinating!
Sooooo....they really were fascinating finds, don't you think?! :-)
What was not so fascinating yesterday was the conversations about my mother-in-law's living situation henceforth. I'm afraid she's gonna have to give up the house. :-( Instead she's gonna be moving in soon with one of her other sons.
No one is excited about this move. NO ONE!...The house has to be sold....but thankfully one of the local realtors thinks that one of the Colleges might be interested in buying her house and land. He told hubby to go directly to them and find out, because they would give his mom her best price for the house. So hubby's gonna be looking into that today or early next week.
ME?....I'm trying to stay out of it. I have concerns about all of it....mom living with someone else, the emptying of the house (there's so much STUFF!), and all of the siblings still being able to get along after all is said and done. Not everybody is pleased with the situation. Losing the family home in such a quick and haphazardly way is causing stress!...but my hubby is handling things on his end marvelously. I'm very proud of him. :-)
Hubby has his hands full already with job-hunting, taking care of me, keeping watch over both of our elderly parents...including lawns, hedges, gardens, car repairs, appointments, etc....and he is handling it all great!....HE fascinates me! ^_^
Okay, have a fascinating and balanced weekend everybody!! :-) Share...what are your plans?!
Balance
You teeter totter, in the middle,
Lean a little, OOPS! You're off!
Now you know that you're not balanced,
and you hope the ground is soft.
It's not easy to achieve,
and once you have it, to maintain.
In almost every part of life
our balance is so hard to gain.
You have to balance your emotions,
how you eat, and how you spend.
And when you're balancing your checkbook,
try to keep a level grin.
Staying somewhere in the middle
takes a conscious, careful touch,
because it doesn't take a lot
to go from balanced to 'too much'!
So try to keep a balanced eye,
a balanced plate, and balanced life.
Keep your feelings all in check,
and minimize the stress and strife.
And don't compare your sense of balance
to your neighbor's...you're alone.
Because your neighbor's also trying
to get some balance of his own!

Love the poem! Wish I took heed of it more often... ;-)
