Yes, I know it's pancake Sunday! :-) And yes, I 'am' having pancakes this morning! ^_^ But that's not what I wanna talk about right now! Right now I wanna talk about this video I saw yesterday....It totally blew my mind, had me giggling, and then had me questioning what kind of minds my pets actually had!! LOL
No, I don't mean the pets I have now...because unless you call a very helpful six-foot tall hubby a pet, I don't have any! ^_^ But I 'used to' have pets...when I was younger, and living at home with my parents and siblings. And so did my hubby.
Mostly we had dogs...dogs that could hear visitors coming from a mile away!...and knew whether it was the people they liked or not! LOL I can't tell you how many times, just by the reaction of the dog, we knew who was coming to the door! ^_^ The Dog: "Grrrrrrrrr!"....Me: "Put the dog in the bedroom. Jerry is coming!" LOL
But smart dogs?!....Did we have smart dogs?! O_O I don't think we had dogs as smart as the one I'm about to show you in the video below!...No! I'm sure we didn't have dogs 'that' smart!!...Or at least I don't think we did!! Now I'm beginning to wonder!! LOL
My dad had a dog that didn't like it when you closed the door to her carrier cage. ^_^ The carrier was actually for when she went riding in the car, or to the vet. But for some strange reason she liked to go upstairs in the room where it was sitting on the floor, and just lie in the cage, half in, half out. O_O And if she ever went up there and the door would be closed.....WOW! The noise!!!
She would come downstairs and bark at everybody individually, until somebody followed her back up there and opened the door! LOL It was as if she was saying: "I turn my back for one minute, and you lock me out?!!! Grrrr! Somebody better get up there right now and open that door, or else there's gonna be trouble!!!" LOL
My hubby's dog?!...Not that smart! LOL He would stand in the middle of the floor, wag his tail until it caught his eye...and then he would go round and round in a circle chasing his own tail...for hours it seemed!! LOL And would yelp if he caught it and took a little bite! ^_^ *shaking my head*
We did have a dog that slept on the bed. She would cover herself up and everything! :-) She also sang. :-) But only when you played a certain song. I won't say the name of the song so that I don't offend the songwriter of the song. ^_^ No songwriter wants as a credit: "It's so good that dogs sing to it!!" LOL
But would I call my dogs that did these things 'smart'?!.......No.
THIS is what I would call smart!!! :-) You're not gonna believe this!!!!...
When me and my hubby saw this video this morning we were cracking up laughing. In fact, we watched it like three times in disbelief!! ^_^ Now we're wondering: "Are all dogs this smart?!"...And what about cats?!...Goldfish?!...Birds?! LOL What exactly are our pets doing when we're not home?!! ^_^
Although maybe it's just dogs that puzzle us like that! I actually already know that the birds in the backyard are smart! ^_^ They ask for food when theirs is getting low....They say "Goodbye!" at the end of the season, when they're gonna be flying off to far flung places...and they tell me when strangers are coming into the backyard!...They are almost...'dogs'!! LOL

How smart are YOUR pets?...Huh?....HUH?! ^_^ Are they smart enough to know when enough is enough?!....I am! ^_^ I'm off to eat my pancakes. Have a good day, Everybody! :-)
Animals Everywhere
There are animals everywhere,
out-numbering husbands, kids and wives.
Do you see them when you travel?
Do you have some in your lives?
The chickens in the yard
step and jut their necks in stride;
Cackling birdie conversation
as you throw seed side to side.
Horses gallop down the hill,
through the field outside the gate;
Along the beach edge of the water
their strong legs will dominate.
All their waking hours
kittens tumble, jump and leap;
Then they curl up anywhere,
purr and breathe a peaceful sleep.
Baby chicks will follow
right behind their Mama's wings.
But they sometimes get distracted,
and their Mama's "Cluck!" then rings.
Doggies know their station.
They're secure in who they are.
They unguardedly will love you.
Just as quick, they'll chase a car.
There's many things that we can learn
by just watching what they do.
But let's not imitate their aggression,
and their need to balk and chew.
Let's recognize where we're alike.
Both of our constant needs for love,
And there is food, shelter, attention,
and much more we could speak of.
Yes, there are animals everywhere,
out-numbering husbands, kids and wives.
Giving lessons by example,
and so much meaning to our lives.

I know of cats..our included...who jump on counters. Our cat doesn't do that when we're home but has been caught once or twice when she thought we were gone. We don't leave food out ever for that reason. Eddy? He's pretty smart but too big to jump on counters! We have a cover on our couch to protect the white slip covers my sister made for us. The other day we couldn't find Eddy anywhere. We then realized he was under the cover of the couch and he hadn't disturbed it one bit..if we hadn't noticed the "lump" and heard the snoring we wouldn't have found him! Crazy!
ReplyDelete^_^ Thank you for the knowledge of cats, Yaya...at least,YOUR cat! LOL I don't know anything about that illusive breed!! ^_^ Iknow about dogs...and Eddy has stolen my heart. ♥ It's so hard being BIG, and yet invisible! LOL
