Yes! It's the 15th! Today is the day, the 2nd time for this month, that I pick the winner of my Giveaway!...The gift this time around is this blanket...
And without further adieu...we took the box with all of the names of those who have commented on my blog since February 1st...shook it up...and shook it up some more...and pulled up a name.
And the winner is...
Congratulations Julie G.!!! You can email me with your address so that I can get this "baby" to you, {just follow my "profile"on this blog}. Or you can "Direct Message" me on Twitter, send me a message on Facebook, or contact me in my Wuglyees Etsy shop HERE!
If, for some reason, you'd rather not receive it, NO HARD FEELINGS, just let me know and I'll go to the next pick.
Now, with that Giveaway over, I have to move on to the next Giveaway! Yes! I'm going to keep giving stuff away until my hubby can get safely into my craft room without worrying about tripping over something and hurting himself!...Whether you like it or not!! LOL But I hope that you like it, because 'there really is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving'!! {Acts 20:35} I'm feeling the happiness! :-)
I decided to give away yet another afghan. And yet again, it's one of my Remnant blankets.
I saw a blanket pattern in one of my books a while back, and decided to do my own modified version of what it looked like....It's approximately 100 inches long {254cm} and 50 inches wide {127cm}...It has a lot of colors: Different shades of Green, some Watermelon, White, Beige, Pink, and Yellow...It's a great blanket for throwing across your lap to watch T.V., or to throw around you when you're going on a Hayride!....What?! You're not Hayride kind of people?! ^_^
Anyway, the Giveaway drawing for this afghan/blanket will be on March 1, 2011. So, keep making your wonderfully supportive comments...and I'll keep putting them in the box! :-) And, please, if you're not a follower of this blog, hit the FOLLOW button so you can be eligible for the Giveaway...Moving On!!
In other news,...which some of you already know because I was so excited I couldn't keep my big mouth closed! LOL...I sold one of my flower brooches yesterday in my Wuglyees shop!!
It's not a big deal to anybody else...Well, except the person that bought it! :-] ...but it's a big deal to me, because I hardly ever sell my brooches! I sell my necklaces, scarves, and everything else. But my poor little brooches just never get much love....until yesterday that is!! :-)
And I got some more really good news too! From January 13th, through February 8th, readers of the About.com nominated their favorite Handmade Artisans and so forth. And guess what?!...My Wuglyees crochet shop was nominated in their 2011 About.com Reader's Choice DIY Fashion Awards!!
Voting closes on March 8th for the 10 categories. I'm in the 5th category down: Favorite Handmade Artisan: Crochet Designs...at the top of the list. :-) And even though I don't have any delusions that I'll win...{Crochet Dude is already blowing me out of the water!!! LOL}..."It really is a honor just to be nominated"!!!....***I'm not turning down votes for me though people!!!*** Vote HERE!! :-)
I'd like to give a hearty THANK YOU to my Twitter buddy of the Etsy shop grimmandgrete. She was the one who stumbled across the DIY fashion Award and let me know that I was a finalist!! I had no idea anyone had even nominated me!!
It's so fun having something else to focus my attention on...besides SNOW!! And along those lines, just something frivolous, I saw this photo on Facebook and I just had to share! LOL Credit to Our Knickknacks for sharing it with us! :-)
By the way, my hand is definitely raised!!! LOL Have a smiling good day everybody!!
Frivolous
Dancing to no music;
Writing in the dust;
Smiling at your plants;
Frivolous!
Staring in the mirror
at your brand new dress;
Wondering if its "You".
Frivolous!
Going nowhere,
but waiting by the bus,
watching cars go by.
Frivolous!
Not conscious of the time;
It goes by without a fuss,
while you just watch t.v.
Frivolous!

ReplyDelete'frivolous' made me breathe deep and sigh....thank you
ReplyDeletekelly, Thanks for the comment...And if you knew how many blankets and scarves I had in this room you wouldn't think it was a bad idea to give some away! ^_^ My husband thinks it's a GREAT idea!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSnowflakeDreams1, Thanks for the nice words about the poem and about the afghan! I have to say, it's making me very happy that my "babies" are going to such nice homes, and being loved as much as I love them. :-) ...And we need some warmth after this winter's snow fiascoes!

ReplyDeleteCinLynn, Awwwww! You're so sweet!!! Thank you anyway. I'm not sure if you can do that though. ReplyDeletePriscila, It's a wonder you can even see the snow with all of our hands raised!!! LOL ...Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust voted for you on About.com! Whoot! Whoot! Seriously you need to devote a mini-post to this. You have so many loyal readers who would gladly vote for you but might just need a lil nudge :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Lindsey
Lindsey, Awwww! Thank you so much!!! Truthfully though, I don't think there's any real chance of me winning anyway! I've seen the Crochet Dude's work. He's so good!!! Pretty crochet items. And he has a public following too!...I'm good with it. I'll just stay in my lane and let the cards fall where they may. The smile I've already gotten from it is almost like a win!!! :-)
