I Liked What I Saw This Week!

Hello...I'm not going to talk your ear off this morning...and stop clapping! LOL...The reason is because I'm having a little problem with my eyes. Yesterday I had a hard area in the corner of the inside of my eye. I removed it. A little painful. Then, last evening I noticed I was having a kind of cloudiness in my right eye.
When I woke up this morning my eye has redness along the lid, won't open all the way, and is a bit swollen and sore...I guess I must have gotten something in it. UGH! So, I'm going to keep on trying salve and hot towels on it today to see if that makes it any better. If not, a call to the doctor may be in order...I guess it's a good thing I like what I've already been able to see this week...just in case I don't get to see much more!
Here's some of the things I've seen and liked...starting with that delicious looking chocolate cake in my header photo. That was the photo that accompanied Velma's post on her blog, SnowflakeDreams1. She's having a Giveaway to celebrate those who follow her, and read her posts. A thank you!...She made this card just for her followers:
And if you win her Giveaway this is what you will recieve.
1. A thank you card that is blank inside (the one
pictured)
2. Eight packages of mini stamps
3. A magazine subscription of your choice from
the list below:
Country Living, Martha Stewart Living,
Better Homes and Garden, Everyday Food,
Redbook, Bon Appetit, House Beautiful
4. And More to be added:
Pretty cool to see, huh?! So, if you're interested in any of these things, just follow this link over to her blog and read what you have to do. It's REALLY simple!

Here are some other good things I've seen this week:
     *Giggle*...Protect that yarn girl!! {On Blooming Lovely's Blog}

Saw some other cute articles in my Country Living magazine:
I saw some things that were no fun at all to see, like the ice storm we had yesterday here in the New England area (Although it wasn't as bad as the ice Estonia had in this photo):
I also could have done without seeing the flood photos from Victoria:
(I saw this photo on planettreasures' blog)

But there was...and is...some really good things to see too!
So, while I 'doctor my eyes' I'll listen and peep at the Australian Open Tennis matches and do a little peeping at some crocheting. {I finished the big men's slippers though! YAY!} I hope you're enjoying what you're seeing this week too! :-]

Eyes

We take our eyes for granted
until some 'boo boo' mars our view.
Then we find ourselves short-sighted
with less things that we can do.

The thought of losing sight,
and seeing life just like before,
is scary, and can shake our confidence
right to the core.

To make our eyes feel better
we would do most anything.
Some eye salve or a hot pack,
even ointments that will sting.

To, every day, appreciate
the eyes that help us see
(and keeping those sharp objects
out of their proximity),

That's what we should be doing,
give those 'Peepers' some respect!
Especially since they get it
when we're sticking out our neck.

  7. Eeeeeek! I have an eye phobia so I read this post squinting in a dramatic way and going 'yeurgh!'- Hubby suggested I had laser treatment for my faiking eyesight yesterday and I threw up twice this morning at the thought of it - yep I obviously have a bad phobia. Anyway I had to read it because you had a delicious cake at the top - and I had to stop myself licking the laptop and drooling, a lovely dog (aaah!) and a koala bear - how much do I want to hug a koala bear - I'd do anythig (except have laser treatment on my eyes).
Many thanks for your really nice comment on my last blog post - see you didn't know I was a romantic did you? Don't worry I'll be back to taking the mickey out of Hubby next post!
I may not like eyebalss but your poems are really good and I hope your eye gets better very soon. (Yeurgh - off to throw up again)

Does that mean you're afraid of getting into eyes, falling off of eyes, or being alone in a close place with your eyes?! ^_^ I'm sorry. I shouldn't tease...*Teehee*..Maybe if you eat some chocolate cake you'll stop throwing up!!...Oooo! Look up there...!!!............'Made you look! Made you look!'............Sorry. ^_^

Rodger Federer is certainly a sihgt for sore eyes.. LOL!
I am short sighted. I am also loosing the sight in my left eye. I have a huge blind spot along the left and down the bottom, which is spreading. The doctors don't have any idea why. I have to go back for more tests on the 27 Jan.
Go get your eye looked at, I know all too well the problems eyes can cause.

  21. Alittlesprite, Thanks so much for your info, and for the encouragement about my eye. I did call the doctor today and got some medication prescribed. I'm finding that the swelling is starting to go down even before I apply the first treatment though. So, maybe my home remedies are working!...Sorry to hear about all of your eye problems. I certainly can sympathize.

  27. I had problems going past the first photo of this post. Gosh I wish I had some of that chocolate cake right now. Chocolate makes everything seem better.
I do hope that your eye is feeling a lot better today. I kind of squirm when it comes to eyes. I think they are pretty precious things so I do hope that yours is on the mend.

  28. Jo-anne, I know what you mean! A glass of cold milk, a big fork, and a slice of that cake along with my tennis match, would make my day right now!...And the eye is feeling better. I posted today's blog about it. :-)

Did you enjoy yht Aus Open tennis? the men's final was a bit of a fizzer did you think?
thanks for the photo mention : )

  30. My eye "IS" all better. Thank you!!...And yes I did enjoy the Australian Open, but you're right. Without Nadal or Federer in it, it just wasn't the same. Same for the women. No Williams Sisters. No Justine Henin. *sigh* But at least I got to see Murray in a final. Next time maybe his energy level will be up for the fight!...And you're welcome about the photo. :-)
