I owe a lot of people my thanks today, for coming to my rescue yesterday when I was rashly considering closing my Etsy shop for good. I was taken off guard by the new photo format on Etsy, and I wasn't handling it very well. I just couldn't see myself going through another round with the photos!!!...Yeah! You've heard it here before! :-] But I'm here today to report that Wuglyees remains in business, I am now in a much better and...calmer mood, and that you guys are GREAT!!
By your comments you make me think, you make me smile, and you had me howling with laughter....at things in general, and at myself! THANK YOU!...And special thanks is going out to Shannon of gifteddesigns on Etsy. Her shop announcement says that she has 'necklaces, earrings and bracelets to enhance your gorgeously chic, timelessly elegant or classically cool nature'! Boy is she right! I'll show you a couple of her other pieces, besides the Repurposed Vintage Antique Brass Pendant with the Czech Glass Beads in my header picture, in a minute.
But first I want to tell you what a great PERSON she is! She saw my rants somewhere, either here on my blog or on Twitter or Facebook yesterday, and convoed me on Etsy and said: "...I may be able to help you understand what you need to do to fix them..." That started a back and forth that went on for almost 6 hours yesterday, ending with her emailing me a tutorial of exactly how to fix the problem, using the specific camera I own!!
I just want to say to her that I know how much energy it takes to invest that kind of time in a stranger...well, a kind of stranger. And I am extremely thankful and reassured to know that there are still good people like her out there!! :-) ...With full disclosure I have to say that I actually didn't get the revelation of how to initially fix my pictures from her though!...I'll tell you about that tomorrow. But in the long run, after I fully check out the tutorial she arranged for me, I'm going to be much more knowledgeable, and much more comfortable with my picture taking!!! That makes my encounter with her lovely self Priceless to me!!
So, you know she's a great person, but what about her as an Etsy shop owner?! Take a look for yourself at her shop HERE!...I'm specifically partial to a few pieces. One is this Rainbow Moonstone and Sterling Silver Necklace with an Asymmetrical Toggle!
I have an affinity for things that are a bit off center and not like everybody else's! That's probably also why I love these Baltic Amber, Mexican Turquoise and Copper Dangle Earrings!
They're gorgeous...and unique!!!
So please, go by and give her shop the 'once over'....Awwww! Give it the twice over if you want to! ^_^ And again I say sincerely Shannon...Thank You!!!!
Okay, before I go I have to show you what I've been crocheting in between the photo stuff to keep my brain slightly calmer. Remember this yarn?!
Well, I haven't known what to do with it besides making a scarf. Which I'm planning to do in the next couple of days. But I started with these...to match the scarf. ↓
Mittens!!!...I'm debating about whether to add some buttons or a flower for embellishment. Any thoughts?!!
Two more quick things. AWM team member. ↓
Her Etsy shop is Weyakin. She has a variety of items, including this Sleepy Sheep...Flannel Cotton Herbal Heat Pack Eye Pillow!
Now that's something you don't see every day on Etsy! I probably could have used this too to rest a bit yesterday!!! :-) ...Please take a look at the other cute items she has in her shop!
Tired of me yet?! Then a poem about being tired might be in order! ^_^
Tired
Sapped, low,
weary, slow.
Dragging about,
plum tuckered out.
Fatigued, spent,
No power surge sent.
Depleted, drained,
almost empty-brained.
Pooped, sucked dry,
out of gas, can't try.
Exhausted, fried,
done in, mopey-eyed.
Tired? There's no doubt!
'Cause I'm all petered out.
HA! You're TOO CUTE! I like to think others would have come to your rescue if I hadn't come across your posts in the forums...:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely feature. It's always nice to hear nice things about yourself...it makes one feel good! I'm glad I was able to help and that in the end you got the tutorial...:D
*hugs to you*
Sha
By the way...I am constantly in awe about how people can take big balls of yarn and TADA, they become something completely functional...it just amazes me every single time I see things like that!
ReplyDeleteSha, I'm sure that EVENTUALLY someone would have come to the rescue, but you were the first that came to the rescue without me asking! For that...my feelings still stand! :-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I take big balls of yarn and clutches of crochet thread and make what I hope is functional stuff all the time! I never think about it as being that big of a deal. Just something that I love to do!! But thank you for the nice words about it...Speaking of which, your comment on this blog, if you're also a follower, just put you in the running for the Giveaway of one of my projects that came from a big ball of yarn...A few balls actually. ^_^ Check out the pictures of it on this post--> http://poetesswug-thewugsbackyardblogspot.blogspot.com/2010/10/its-monday-and-its-cold-temperature-is.html Have a good weekend!
Glad you got it figured out. Love the new yarn and I can't wait to see it finished. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteCinLynn, Thank you my friend! You know I'll show it to you!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteDeb, isn't just amazing at the wonderful people out in the world wide web that take the time to be helpful. It gives me such a warm feeling and always so great to hear about. I'm glad you are feeling better about the whole picture thing. Oh by the way I ate all the ding dongs and some of the m&ms. LOL Shannon has such beautiful jewlery I fell in love with the black and white necklace at first sight.
ReplyDeleteSnowFlakeDreams1, I agree with you whole-heartedly about the WWW's helpful people!! Not helpful enough to slide a little Ding Dong and some M&Ms your way, but......WHATEVER!!! LOL Oh! You make me laugh!!...And yes indeed, Shannon wasn't being too bold when she named her etsy shop "gifted" designs, because they truly are!!! :-]

ReplyDeleteI can so relate to wanting to close up shop. So much time investment and so little return. But it's the people I have met and the blessings of God just when I need them that keep me on. A great post honoring the good side of people!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post and thanks for sharing your whole story! See, there are good people out there after all...
ReplyDeleteRock on!
Elizabeth a.k.a. Foret on Twitter and Etsy
Art and Sew Forth, Thankfully my wanting to close up shop was just a short time thought! Thanks to Shannon I didn't have enough time to think too seriously about it! :-) The good side of people and the good side of my shop are both shining through! ^_^
ReplyDeleteRibasus, Thank YOU for taking the time to let me know you liked it!! I appreciate it. And yes! Good people also ROCK! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAdd a blue flower to the mittens! You can never have too many flowers in the winter!
ReplyDeleteAstoria Girl, Funny that you should say that!!! I'll show you what I did tomorrow. Suffice it to say...a flower was "involved"! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions, everybody! :-)
